I've only visited Frying Pan Park re: it's double life as an equine venue - enjoying it's horse-training facilities (indoor/outdoor rings, cross-country course, etc.) & attending the various horse auctions held there.

As others have said, the facilities are clean & well-kept/groomed - just as important for horse enthusiasts as it is for family picnicers.

I am SO HAPPY that the park is what it is!  We visited the park on Sunday, and fell in love with the baby animals.

The premises were clean, and the animals looked healthy and happy.

We look forward to more visits!

Our family loves this park!  It is clean and there a lot of activities for children to do.  There is a nice playground, animals, tractor rides, a store, and demonstrations.  My daughter and I absolutely love seeing and petting the animals in a farm type setting.  This is a great place to bring toddlers or yourself if you love animals like I do ; )

This isn't the kind of park that you bring a picnic lunch to and cop a squat under a tree At Frying Frying Pan Park you'll find Kidwell Farm. The farm is a working model farm that is supposed to be like it would have been in this area during the early 20th-century.

If you see any turkeys on the farm, it is likely he or she was pardoned by the president. I am sure you have seen it reported on Good Morning America or the Today show, they make a lame turkey joke every year around Thanksgiving.

The big draw here are horse shows and events. There's also is an indoor activity center, indoor and outdoor riding arenas, and an horse trail.

Note: They don't rent out horses here or offer lessons, but if you happen to have access to a horse, you can ride it on the trail.

It may be surrounded by cookie cutter houses and the burbs, but if you don't look past the tree line you really feel like you're in a Va farm!  They have an assortment of livestock (pigs, cows, horses, sheep) and a hay-ride where you can cruise around the perimeter (remember to ignore the houses just past the divide).  Staff was very cordial and they even do milking demonstrations (hooked up to machines, sadly).
