On weekends this affable middle-aged New Yorker who claims he is rich and owns a farm, just picked the fruit, pulls his pickup to a turnout high above the ocean, about halfway between Miur Beach and Stinson Beach on Hwy. 1.  Lets you snack as much as you want, encourages it even, and makes up a name for you.  In 2004 he embarassed my then girfriend and I picked up hands down the best honeydew, best melon of any kind, so good you'd do an emergency midnight prosciutto run and might just name the kids after it.   Last week he was calling everyone Earl and I had the second best peaches ever, whch is saying a lot.  My Yelp nemesis (I've decided NOT to include her name in all of my reviews) says he's too expensive and I'm getting ripped off.  But I say, you get what you pay for and he delivers the admission price in entertainment alone.  And what price can you put on great ocean views and fruit so good you stay up at night fantasizing?
