BEST GARLIC KNOTS I'VE EVER HAD. Seriously. All buttery and greasy, and just YUM. I haven't had much NY pizza, but this was pretty good. I enjoy a sweeter sauce, but the pizza was still really good. And they delivered to the Marriott (on a bike) which I feel like was out of their "zone" but they did it anyway. If nothing else, go for the garlic knots!

Being from the south I'm not sure I know what good pizza is supposed to taste like so.....
For my first taste of NY pizza I put my faith in the good yelpers of NY and made the trek from Midtown to Front Street. We exited the subway and had no idea where to go. A friendly stranger pointed us in the right direction and shortly thereafter i was sipping lemonade and nibbling on a slice of taco pizza (ground beef, lettuce tomato, cheese, and a light drizzling of something that tasted like ranch dressing). It was damn good. The garlic knots were tasty too but nearly put me into a carb coma. My guy ate three or four pieces of pepperoni in quick succession and continuously mumbled "oh my God...this pizza is so good..." the entire time. Then again we ate at 2 or 3 other pizza joints and he said the same thing at every place....
Please someone bring delicious good NY pizza to Atlanta! We are dying down here : (
I have gotten a slice from nearly every pizza place in Brooklyn, I think, and they're pretty much all the same (I've run into some better, some worse, but there aren't any that really stick out in my head) - EXCEPT Front Street. This place is AMAZING. I wish it was nearer to where I live, I'd eat the pizza here every day. HUGE slices, good sauce, just the right proportion of cheese (and it's good cheese, not rubbery like some places). It's cheap, the service is fast. Worth the trip!

The best pizza in the world. I do not overstate this. THE BEST pizza ever. And yeah, I'm from Chicago. They may revoke my resident status for saying this, but deep dish is not pizza, it's casserole. Blech.
Front Street Pizza has mastered the perfect balance of crust, sauce and cheese. I long for it almost daily now that I'm back home.
On my last trip to NYC I walked the Brooklyn Bridge roundtrip four times for this pizza. I pretty much ate nothing else. If I could get them to FedEx me a pie I would order them weekly. The staff is great and exactly what you'd expect in a NY pizza place. How they keep track of what everyone in the place orders is beyond me because there's really no line.
I miss you Front Street Pizza. Won't you please deliver to a hungry girl in Chicago?

Perfect pizza, great service, and a chicken parm hero so good it'll bring tears to your eyes. Get it toasted for an extra bit o' goodness. If Obama was a pizza place he'd be Front Street - authentic all the way around.

Great pizza!! Wide variety of pizzas and rolls and sandwhiches and even soups... The staff behind the counter is fantastic. They really get things going.

A great place to get a quick slice for lunch - good pizza and fast service. Close enough to the park to go and eat there watching the river in nice weather. Placing your order and picking it up is a bit chaotic - if you're expecting an orderly line, you're out of luck. But, it all works well enough in the end; just stick with it.

I don't get their prices. The menu offers up a hero with "Turkey, Bacon, Fresh Mozzarella, Lettuce, Tomatoe (sic), Hot Peppers, Fried Onions, Mayo on a Toasted Hero" for $6.95, but apparently, a chicken cutlet hero with lettuce, tomato, onion (nowhere to be found on the menu or their board) is $7.40. Add bacon and Cheddar and you are up to $9.40. And the sandwich wasn't even that good. It had, maybe, three pieces of bacon and two pieces of cheese. A few blocks away at Jimmy's that sandwich is $6.50.
As for the pizza, let me put it this way, my office has pizza lunch together every two weeks. We used to order from Front Street, but have recently started ordering from another place on Henry Street. Everyone in the office commented on the improvement.
And the service? Very disorganized. I went at admittedly a busy lunch time, but the guy behind the counter was chatting-up a customer while others waited to order. Then I paid my $10.40 bill with $21. He gave me $9.60 back. When I pointed out I gave him $21 to make the change easier the woman next to me said, "yeah, he did" and rolled her eyes. Guess I'm not the only one.
How do I explain the positive reviews this place gets? Limited options here. If you want a good slice of Pizza, check out Carmine's on Graham Ave in Williamsburg.
I LOVE this place!!!!
Best fast slice in the city. It's no Grimaldi's, granted, but how often are you willing to wait 20 minutes outside to get a really good pie.
There's no better place for lunch in DUMBO. Sausage and peppers, eggplant parm, chicken parm, meatball sandwiches - it's all great.
And you couldn't ask for a better team behind the counter. The brothers are awesome.
Plain slice PLEASE!

I've spent plenty of lunchtimes grabbing a couple of slices here, and it's consistently good pizza. Despite the mayhem of the lunch rush, I always manage to get out of there in 10 minutes or so.
When I used to work nighttimes, they would put The Simpsons on the tv, and we'd all watch during our break. Good stuff.

The food is a tad bit more expensive than your average pizza joint but it's definitely worth it! They've got so many different kinds of slices, rolls, and other goodies (soups are yum, sandwiches are huge and delish) that you can find just about anything you're looking for during lunch time. They even have a grill if you're looking for a burger!

This is the place to eat. The food is delicious, the have a large selection for breakfast, did I say delicious!!! They change their menu daily, their delivery is pretty fast and it's verrrry cheap, BOY, what can we ask for more NY? The ambiance and service are excellent, did I mention the pizza, well ok, I'm not a big pizza girl, but O MY, you have got to try them. P,S. You never know when you'll meet a star there.
The owners are the best, always in a good mood, (I guess business is great)lol, I love to go there to watch world cup soccer when Italy or Brazil is on, very fun... (not a big USA fan, but hey! I'll support ya 2)

When I was in NYC for new year's, aside from the celebrations, I had one mission and one mission only- walk the Brooklyn Bridge, explore nearby Brooklyn, find a good slice of pizza, and walk back to Manhattan. From my point of view, nothing else mattered that day.
After exploring the possibilities, I settled on Front Street. Oh, what a good choice. A five dollar bill gets you a HUGE, TASTY, WEDGE (not a slice, a WEDGE) of pizza, a gigantic cup of soda, and some change. Yes, when I mean a WEDGE, I mean a slice so huge, folding it is not an option, it's a necessity, and not doing so probably violates some rule of pizza decency that gets you banned from ever eating pizza again. I was also impressed by their range of other offerings, all reasonably priced, and appetizing to look at.
The interior was fairly neat, with a couple of TVs to entertain me during my time there. Here's how I know I made a good choice- while I was eating, a fire truck pulled up, and several firemen in full gear, still wet, came in and ordered wedges to go.
Ok, I might get criticized for being from Chicago reviewing NYC pizza, but consider this. I tried three places in NYC during my time there, and of the three, only this one warrants a glowing review. Their pizza was huge, tasty, and cheap. You can bet I will stop here the next time I come back. For those of you counting calories, well you have your choice of bridges to walk them off.
To sum it up: It was worth the walk getting there, now I have to go back.

This is what I imagine when I think of a real local neighborhood pizzeria! The pizza is excellent...but they also have tasty salads (for the unbelievably low price of $3.95, $4.95 with chicken) and stromboli, calzones, and even breakfast food. The best thing about this pizzeria is that it delivers in DUMBO! Nothing delivers in DUMBO, so this is a really important selling point!

Yes it was the first thing I had eaten in almost 24 hours, but the pizza was great. I got a huge piece of pizza and a soda for $4. It's just a run up and order and pay in the same spot mess, but people there were really polite, the employees were quick and it was a comfortable place to stop for food.
