This is my go-to lunch place! Their crepes are delicious and super healthy. I have introduced many of my colleagues here and they all love it. It's a great alternative to Panera. It has a local, grassroots feel. You definitely are giving back to the Hayward community when eating here. Their poster board also has great information on what's going on in the neighborhood. Hope you get a chance to check it out.

P.S. It doesn't look like a place that serves food, so it's kind of deceiving. I only knew that they had crepes because I got my nails done next door once.

Read good reviews while searching for a coffee shop via my phone on an early Sunday morning so we took a detour while driving from SF to LA to stop at this place to get us some pick-me-up drinks -- coffee. Coffee is light and not exactly what I had expected after reading good reviews about the coffee shop. I like mine smooth and strong. The pastries were not something I could rave about either. I didn't have the crepes, which most folks appear to be claiming as their famed dish.

Thank goodness they were open early in the morning. If there were others opened early, I'd probably try elsewhere.

This is my weekend go to for a delicious breakfast/brunch.  And when I have friends in town this is where we go.

I absolutely love the crepes here.  My favorite is the "classic" which has chicken, spinach, mushrooms and cheese.  I'll often add avocados and of course bacon.

Savory crepes come with a side of either fruit or salad (greek or pasta).  Crepes are presented with a light drizzle of pesto sauce.  One crepe will leave you very satifsfied.

I wish i had a larger appetite so i could eat a savory and sweet crepe.  So when i come with friends we will often split or share.

Perhaps i shouldn't tout this place too much . . . and keep it my secret crepe place.  It's never too busy or chaotic here which makes it perfect for a calm and casual weekend breakfast place for me.

We walk here Sunday mornings sometimes, and grab the outdoor table to be able to sit by our pups :) They even have a water bowl for puppies that you can use while youre dining.

The food is light and not greasy or heavy, pretty fair prices. I am not really a fan of any of the coffee drinks, but the crepes are great!

We love crepes and boy this place knows how to make 'em good!  Frodo Joe's had a Very pleasant staff, little cafe atmosphere and quality ingredients;  all my favorite things in a great brunch restaurant.  The Bacon avocado and the ham and cheese crepes come highly recommended from these yelpers!

I've been stopping in here on Saturday mornings, trying different crepes, and enjoying the regulars. The people are always super helpful and pretty quick with food and drink orders. The Crepes are the best and keep me full for hours. I even brought the gf and her daughter down one day. Great place.

The crepes here are to DIE FOR!

Seriously, I could eat their crepes (both savory and sweet) for days, all day, every day if I had the funds to.

I came here with 3 other friends on a late Sunday afternoon and found this place because of Yelp. Boy, am I glad we did!

I got the salmon crepe (which comes with pasta and veggies on the side) and it was creamy, savory, just the right level of filling - everything you want in a crepe.

This out-of-the-way cafe is a true gem in San Lorenzo (one of few) and their crepes made my morning...encouraging brighter conversation due to our happy moods and filled tummies.

I haven't tried any of their beverages, so can't vouch for that, but if you're ever in the area....check this place out! You won't regret it.

I have lived in San Lorenzo for a few years and have grown up in this area. This little coffee shop is wonderful to have in San Lorenzo. I appreciate it because there are not many restaurants/coffee shops in this town.

They have a variety of sweet and savory crepes. They also have different breakfast sandwiches. I am obsessed with their savory breakfast crepes, which come with fruit.

I like their coffee. My only complaint is that their iced coffee is not very concentrated and tastes watered down. Not a deal breaker though I still love this place!

Savory and Sweet Crepes! Savory crepes include Hawaiian (Ham and pineapple) and B&A (Bacon and Avocado). I really liked the the crispy bacon and chunks of avocado in the crepe. I like that the lady squeezed some pesto sauce in there, which made it more fragrant. Sweet crepes include Fresh Strawberry (Strawberries and nutella) and Mixed Fruit (Berries and Orange Sauce), which is topped with ice cream and powdered sugar.

The lady/cashier was very nice and friendly. She gave me a crepe card which allows me to get a free crepe after 10 crepe purchases.

This is one of my go-to coffee shops in the San Lorenzo/San Leandro area! The quality of their coffee, crepes and breakfast bagels can't be matched by any other places in the vicinity. I've gone here often enough that they know my order and ask me if I'll have the same order when I come in.

Their #1 bagel has egg, tomato and bacon on a bagel of your choosing. The tomato is fresh, the bacon is nice and crispy and the egg is over hard and not the usual scrambled egg that most bagel places offer. Overall a wonderfully filling and delicious breakfast that I can always go back to even though I like trying new things. My only complaint is that they sometimes run out of bagels and I have to resort to the large, soft, non-crunchy-on-the-outside croissants that they offer.

I've tried out a wide variety of their crepes (had the Shrimp Pesto last time) and have yet to be disappointed. The quantity is filling but not to the point of bursting and the combination of ingredients go wonderfully together.

Establishments that are frequented by locals often take on a personality all its own. Watch out for one of the locals (large gentleman, long white hair) who will greet everyone entering Frodo's. Next time you see him and he greets you, give him a high-five for me!

Came here with a friend and it's a nice cafe to sit and chat!

I ordered the original crepe, spinach, cheese and chicken with a side salad. The crepe was pretty good, nice and crispy, but with the size of my appetite it didn't really fill me up. For the price, I would say I wouldn't frequent this place very often.

BUT, they get an extra star for being super nice and friendly, especially since my friend and I stayed there almost 3 hrs and they still said bye to us when we left!

I absolutely love this place. The workers there are always so kind and it never takes too long to get your food. There are an assortment of different drinks that are hot and cold. What I especially like about this place is that their thai iced teas, which goes great with a savory crepe.

At Frodo Joe's you can choose from salads, sandwiches, and sweet/savory crepes. When you get a savory crepe it comes with a side of fruit, pasta salad or a side salad. If you get a sweet crepe then you have the option of choosing a scoop of ice or fruit on the side. The crepes are of ample size and are guaranteed to make you full at the end of the meal. In addition, you get to see them make the crepes right in front of you. The sweet crepes are definitely something to have when you are craving something sweet.

Something else that is nice about Frodo Joe's is that there sitting. Inside there are little couch-type areas, which would be good if you wanted to use your computer and have a cup of coffee. There are also other tables inside for you to eat. On one occasion there was a large party, and all the sitting was taken. If you want to ensure that you get a seat then make sure that you show up a little early. There are probably about 4 chairs outside if you choose not to sit inside.

Reasonable prices and good food. Definitely a place to try out in San Lorenzo.

Also there are stamp cards for drinks and crepes, so you can work your way towards a free drink or crepe.

Yay to mom and pop coffee shops!

I always drop by this place on my way to school or work and get my usual white chocolate mocha but since they offer other specialty drinks I also sometimes go for a "frozen mocha" or a "frozen toffee frapp." Great for a hot day.

They have really good breakfast croissant sandwiches. I usually go for the one with bacon, ham, and eggs and they cook it just right where the bacon has that light crunch when you bite into it. As far as crepes, the veggie one with spinach and cheese with the option of getting chicken is another fav amongst the many they have to choose from including dessert ones. MMmm

You get a stamp card too if you come here frequently. Buy 10 and get 1 free, one for drinks, one for crepes.

    Try this place out!

I was suprised to find this establishment in the middle of a cheesey looking strip mall.  I was skeptical at first, but once the food arrived my mind changed completely.

I ordered a Californian-the crepe was light, the avocado was ripe and fresh, the turkey was just enough where it didn't weigh down the crepe.

Peach tea-it was really good.  Not your snapple peach tea, but REAL peach tea (well peach syrup).

My friends and I finished our meals and still wanted a bit more and decided to share a strawberry and nutella crepe.  It was oh so good.......I mean come on!!! Strawberry, nutella, whip cream......*drools*

It was just the perfect way to end brunch.

The staff is really friendly too and service is fast.

Today was my first time here, my friend lived nearby and suggested we go because i've been having MASSIVE crepe cravings.

I love this place! The outside location is misleading, but once you step inside, it's very cozy. Me and my friend actually spent 3 hours in there just talking and catching up. The crepes were AMAZING and fulfilling, for this price, one would just get a regular crepe by itself, but the entree includes a greek salad, what a deal!

I got my money's worth and i am definitely a fan. I am recommending my friends to go to this place if they want a place with good decor, ambiance, and a welcoming environment.

    and of course good food.

I will be returning here in no time! :)

Cute quaint creperie with really good savory and dessert crepes.  Everything we had here was good. The owner is pretty nice.

Location is not the best in Hayward.  Docking 1 star for the couches which were nasty. First went "Aaah, couch" and then made a hasty retreat after I saw all the stains and how dirty it was.

Looking for a crepe place, saw this place had 4-5 stars and thought to check it out. Booked it on the freeway from SJ and had to call the place to find its exact spot (no sign from the main drag). According to whomever was on the phone, they said they were already closed. That's funny because the sign said 2pm and it was 1:45 according to my phone. So we get to the counter and they ask what we'd like to order. So we just get here, haven't had a chance to look at the menu and are asked to order because they're going to close.  Hmm, so we politely said, "If this is the way your business is run, we'll just leave."  Thanks but no thanks.  If this is how they expect to keep customers coming in, I guess they don't want to stay in business for long.

I have been a sporadic patron of Frodo Joe's for about five years now and my stomach still gets a thrill every time I walk through the doors. Their crêpes here are dinner-plate sized, and are absolutely delicious. My favorite is their apple pie crêpe -- which they, sadly, appear to have taken off their menu. Their drinks are also very good -- I am a personal fan of their Thai iced tea and their chai lattes!

Their location is pretty small, and seating can be extremely limited (especially during the mornings), but if you go during the more "off" hours -- think more towards brunch/lunch hours -- you're usually bound to find a seat. They close pretty early, though, so if you're itching for a dessert crêpe at the end of your night, you're going to be disappointed with this place. Wi-fi is free, but you need to ask for their login and password. It's pretty simple though, and I don't think there's a time limit, so eat good food, drink good drinks and surf the internet away at one of the most chill study spots I've ever had the pleasure to use.

    I love Frodo Joe's!

I've been coming here for 6 years and it's still my favorite place to get crepes. Their savory crepes, dessert crepes, sandwiches, and white mochas (basically everything) are great!

    Things I've tried:
    California fresh sandwich - good
    Club house - great!
    Super crepe - meh
    Californian - great!
    Classic - good
    Bacon avocado - great!
    Strawberry and banana - awesome!
    Fresh strawberry - awesome!
White mocha - I love! Better than Starbucks!

The employees are really friendly and the place is really cute with tables and small comfy couches towards the back to dine on.

    Definitely deserves 5 stars!

Pretty darn good for a creperie and coffee shop. I love the pesto sauce they sprinkle on top of their savory crepes, and the sweet crepes are delicious without being too sugary.

Seating is a bit limited, and expect to wait if there's a rush. There are about 10 smaller tables and several couches in the back. Frodo Joes does have a nice selection of childrens books and ample parking out back, so it's a nice place to take the whole family.

Out of the crepes we've tried, the only one I wouldn't get again was the shrimp one.. the shrimp was fishy and there was too much of it. Too much shrimp? How can that be bad? Well, when it's fishy it's not great.

    California Crepe was Delicious!!!

So I was taken here for a sunday breakfast since we were pressed for time and couldn't go to a sit down breakfast spot.  First off, the people taking the order and behind the counter seemed very friendly.  I really felt the sense that it was a neighborhood spot.  There were people in line and they knew them by name which says a lot.

The California Crepe had Turkey and Avocados and a pesto sauce on top.  It was delicious.  I really like how it had a nice crisp but still retained its softness inside.

As for my drink... I was good, but I think I am just too particular with my drinks.  I had their Iced Vanilla Latte with Soy.  I am still a fan of how Starbucks makes that.

Oh thing I did take notice of was the seating inside.  There were tables but there wear lounge type seats as well.  I just thought that was interesting.

Crepes...crepes...and fresh avocados! My cousin took me here last year and I loved the savory crepe I had along with the fruit side. It was fresh and delicious. The cashier/staff was helpful, charismatic, and recommended several crepes to me.

The quality and serenity at this place is above par. It's too bad that they don't have longer hours on Sunday (or on any day for that matter).

I will definitely come back for more! Support your local business!

Wow this was amazing. I can't believe we've never been here before. It's truly a hole-in-the-wall gem.

We were exhausted and needed sustenance on a Sunday morning. The bebé keeps us from eating out too much, but we've become fine purveyors of take-out. The hubby wanted lunch-ish food and I needed coffee. This place delivered on both!!
    We got--
Super Crepe: ham, eggs, tomato, and cheese
Cheese Bacon: bacon, chicken, mushroom, and cheese
Strawberry and Banana: with caramel and raspberry sauce
    Americano
    White Mocha

It was a bit pricey for just the two of us ($33) but as you can see we did get three crepes and 2 drinks. In retrospect it was totally worth it. Coffee was good and the crepes were filled generously and the ingredients were fresh. There was even enough filling to give the bebé some without feeling like we were comprising our own brunch. Bonus? They give generous sides as well. And they aren't an after-thought either. They are really nice sized and quality. So if you want a bit of sweet to round out your savory crepe the fruit side fits the bill. That fruit side was great. Huge chunks of fresh watermelon, cantaloupe, and pineapple. Actually we probably didn't even need the strawberry/banana crepe since we were so stuffed from the savory ones. But we're sweet-a-holics so, it's hard to say no. We also got a greek salad as one of the sides which looks amazing, but I'm too stuffed to try it right now. Another note about the ingredients: they really tasted high quality. The chicken wasn't dried out at all, there was a lot of crispy bacon, ham was flavorful, tomatoes were fresh, the pineapple you could tell had just been cut and strawberries were incredibly sweet and fresh.
The staff was also pretty efficient. They seem to strive on a fast-paced work environment, because there was a lull in customers and not one of them stopped working. Then when they were actively filling out orders they worked as a well-oiled machine: one took the order, one prepped the plates/sides, another made our coffees and the main (?) lady appeared on schedule to make our crepes. The 5th girl was cleaning tables and sweeping. All constantly bustling about.

Some things that ::might:: make me want to remove a star: they weren't exactly helpful, nice and kind, but not helpful. My hubby was curious about his bacon crepe and had a question, but it became pretty apparent quickly that we weren't going to get a helpful answer. Also with the sheer quantity of food we got you'd think that they at least give us the loyalty card or tell us about it, but they've stopped asking people for some reason. So after watching someone else pull out their's we had to go back up and ask about it right as we're about to leave. Finally, (and I'm hesitant to mention this) the person who made the crepes pulled her hair behind her ears before starting but as I watched her, her hands didn't touch our food at all, she only used tools ... but still. eech.

Reason I won't remove a star? Someone left their purse at one of the tables and as they're driving away, one of the employees runs outside and starts yelling and waving at the car, returning the purse successfully. Very nice business practice in my opinion.

I live in San Lorenzo, I drive down hesperian at least once a day and never not once have I ever noticed this adorable fantasticly fabulous coffee shop...I have to admit I was a starbucks snob and refused to drink anthing but...until one day i searched yelp and somehow started searching coffee places..Frodo Joes came up and I made it a mission to try it the next time I was craving a good cup'o joe so I went in to a cute lil shop and very friendly barista. I ordered the white mocha and the chicken pesto sandwich...

The white mocha was exellent!! and just to my liking, i usally like it more on the cool side...I cant for the life of me understand why people order piping hot boiling coffee?? I dont like like third degree burns or blisters thank you very much! I like to drink my coffee right away! anyway it was  quite good!! I also ordered the chicken pesto sandwich, that was AMAZING..there isnt much to it, it was very plain but something about that sandwich was JUST RIGHT...ive gone back since just to get it!! They toast the bread just the right amount and the chicken with the pesto sauce they use really really works!! go there and try it, i promise you will go back!

Pleasant surprise... in a little shopping center.  Thought it would just be coffees and teas but they have a WIDE selection of crepes and sandwiches!

My friend and I stopped by here for brunch after our kickboxing workout and we were hungry!  We split one salty + one sweet crepe, and it was well more than enough food.

Tried the seafood crepe, stuffed with mini shrimps + crab with a pesto sauce. MmmMmm.. It was delicious and huge portions! came with your choice of side - opted for the veggies to be more healthy.

Our sweet crepe was the berry crepe - mounds of blueberries and raspberries in its own simple syrup...we opted no ice cream/whip cream since we were on our healthy routine - so we got a side of fruit (pineapple + cantaloupe + watermelon)

There were so many different crepes....i'll be back to try the other crepes on the menu!

    - I love Frodo Joes Hesperian!  this one is not at all affiliated with the one in Fremont ( which sucks by the way)
    - They have great savory /dessert crepes. Fresh and made to order.
    - Coffee is wonderful!!! I come here so much they know my order by heart.  Soy Blended Caramel with an extra Floated shot.
-The manager is great, very nice and everyone that works here as well.

even though I loved to Antioch I make sure to come to Frodo whenever I'm in the area...

I love this place!  It's definitely a locals stop.  People who try out this place eventually become regulars.  I remember going out of my way just to get a cup of coffee here toward the evening.  I'd say it's worth the detour rather than going to a regular chain coffee place.  My usual coffee orders vary among cappuccino's, latte's, and the frozen banana mocha.

I must add that the owner is great.  She and her employees make the effort to get to know their regulars and their usual orders.

As for food, they may not be known for their pastries, but please try one of their crepes/breakfast bagels.  I absolutely love their breakfast bagel, which has egg, cheese, tomato, and bacon.  Sounds simply enough right?  I'm not usually a fan of bacon but I like how crispy and not-so-oily the bacon in their bagel is.  I also like their crepes.  My favorite is the Californian.  It's seems like a light lunch, but still quite filling!

    Good value for great quality.

Love this place, I don't see why I would give it less than 5 stars.  This is the place me and my best friend always go to for crepes and a good talk.  We always get the dessert crepes which are delicious, and yesterday I got a savory crepe for the first time, the classic, and it was delicious as well!  The staff were friendly and helpful, recommending which savory crepe to get since I never had one before :)

Dessert crepe comes with either ice cream or fruit
Savory crepe comes with salad or fruit

all only around $7.  The hours were only from 6:30am-5:00pm though.  But yep, if you want some crepes coffee or tea come here!! They have a cute little area in the back with comfy couches too :) Enjoy!

My disclaimer is I am not a crepe connoisseur, so I don't know how it stacks up to the rest lol. I will say that I got a strawberry crepe with fruit on the side and it was good. They put chocolate sauce on it and it's pretty good, not something healthy but hey you have to live a little.

I got a hot vanilla chai on the side and it came in a nice mug, that was suprising lol. Sat down and chatted with a friend for a bit and had a chance to see what else they had.

They were making some other types of breakfast crepe's and they smelt pretty good to me.

The vanilla chai and the strawberry crepe were good the fruit on the side was good. Even had good presentation of the crepe lol. Given that this is close to my school I'll be back and maybe even bring a friend with me.

Oh yeah and if you're driving from the street it doesn't really say "Frodo Joes in huge lettering" I missed it the first time haha. But it's probably because I thought it was "Trader Frodos" ...too much time going to trader joes I guess.

I love this small town gem! The Crepes are fabulous and their sandwiches are really good too, but it's the crepes that keep me coming back again and again!

Try the chicken apple sausage it's my favorite!

This is also a great place to meet friends and have a coffee or iced tea and sit on their couches in the back and chill!

Really cute place....  helpful and polite staff, friendly neighborhood feeling.

Went by here this morning, yes.. I probably stuck out like a sore thumb, but that's ok.

The crepe was good, along with the hot choc that I had too.

really cute little place..... too bad I don't have opportunity to swing by this place more often.

The seafood delight was filled with  tiny non-deveined shrimp.   $24 for a salty, fishy,  "seafood delight" and microwaved bacon crepes -(do I need to harp on microwaved?)  and a latte...Never again!

We actually returned the food and declined a certificate to discount the next meal. And was shameless about it! Who are these people offering 4-5 stars (friends of the owners/workers)?

Try Ti Couz if you want it done right .
