There is just something quite satisfying about good fish & chips! And that is just what you get here, great chips and very good fish.
Nothing too pretentious, small little place, some tasty dipping sauces and a good selection of un-ordinary beers. Good, friendly service too.
Fish & chips, a beverage and off onto the ferry!
        A habit has been established!

I came here on a trip through town with the help of the recommendations on Yelp and from a local Barista. I'm glad I didn't go anywhere else!

I ordered the fish and chips with Honey Dijon and a Dill Ranch dipping sauces. They have a plentiful amount of sauces to choose from too.

The fish and chips were cooked to order and made for a brilliant on-the-go driving food. Can't wait for my next visit to try the different sauces.

I have finally found my fish and chips place!! My husband and I had been wanting to try Fritz's, but we never get out to the downtown Bremerton area, unless catching a ferry with our kids.

We were finally able to go this past Friday for lunch, and we can not wait to return. The restaurant is really small, with seating for about 8-10 people inside and a few tables outside. The menu is pretty basic offering fish and chips, chicken baskets, hamburgers, and sausage. Awesome fries with a great variety of dipping sauces.

I, obviously, ordered the fish and chips. The fish was so, so good. Fresh and flavorful with the perfect crisp batter. My husband ordered the combination basket which came with mozzarella sticks, fried zucchini, chicken, and fries. He was extremely impressed with the food. Between the two of us we tried red pepper parmesan, honey dijon, thai peanut, and jalepeno mayo dipping sauces. The red pepper parmesan was ridiculously tasty, with the jalepeno mayo and honey dijon were very good, as well. The thai peanut was a little lacking for us, not as many spices as we wanted, but there are tons more for us to try in the future.

We are already planning our next chance to go back there (which can be tricky with little kids). Because of the size of the restaurant and the seating consisting of stools this isn't the most kid friendly. The tables outside would work well, but it's too cold now for that option. The staff is very friendly. We went at lunchtime and the wait was about 15-20 minutes, which isn't too bad.

I dropped in to try the fish &chips with your choice of any 2 dipping sauces. The cod had a light and crispy batter and tasted very good but the fries were soggy and oily which might be because I ordered it to-go, that's why I gave it a 3. The young lady that took my order was very nice and friendly.

The fish and chicken are pretty good.  The fries are usually disappointing and soggy.  Oh, and since they don't have proper ventalation, you are going to smell like the restaurant for the rest of the day.

If you don't appreciate Belgian style fries or Belgian beer, don't bother going.  But I went wanting some good hot fries with mayo and curry ketchup, and I got that.  We also split a bottle of framoise lambic, which was a delightful change of pace.

The only reason I'm not giving Fritz all 5 stars is I had a cheeseburger that was just so-so.  I think it would have been better without the cheese, actually.  And they didn't offer chopped onions for the fries, as a REALLY authentic shop would serve.

As a fat white dude, the idea of a fries with ranch store tickles me in a way I'm not really prepared for.

Throw in the fish, chicken, burger, and beer options and we have a winner.

Tip: Try the Parmesan dip stuff.  It's a wonderful little bowl of fat.

I have been wanting to try this place since I moved here and finally tried it with my friend! The special was a bacon burger and it was super good! The fries were really great too! All the dipping sauce choices seemed to be spicy and I am not a huge spicy fan so I had to get the BBQ and Creamy Dill Ranch. The BBQ was a typical BBQ sauce and the Creamy Dill Ranch was awesome, just really wish there was more of a choice. My friend got the Curry Ketchup and a Jalapeno one(don't remember the name), both were not very good. The Jalapeno one was way too spicy even with a small amount and the Curry Ketchup tasted funny. My friend got a beer and she loved it. The only other complaint was that the drinks don't come with the baskets. Other than the drink thing and he sauce choices it was awesome. I will defiantly be making more trips here!

I have never tasted fries so delicious period.  Local beers on tap and delicious craft beers in bottles from around the world to pair with your deep fried burger, sausage, chicken, fish, or sweet potato fries.  Its a few steps away from the ferry and a perfect place to fill up before a boat ride.  If you're from the Seattle side, its a great jumping off point to where ever you're headed.  Not for the carb counters though but there is Gluten free options even in the Beer.

If only I lived in Bremerton, I would stop here more often. Excellent beer and fries made fresh per order. I love their variety of dips. My favorite is the red pepper mayo. It's a mayo with red bell pepper that tastes sweet like it was baked. YUM!

Fish and chips are great too. Staff is always friendly. The place is small but cozy, they do have outdoor seating. Menu is limited but the variety of sauces are sure to please.

I've been going here on and off ever since they first opened, and I've never had a problem. I really enjoy the large selection of beers, and I've always loved their selection of dipping sauces. It's just a nice place to go if you're early/getting off the ferry and you want to enjoy a drink and some fries while looking at the waterfront.

The Blackberry Festival in Bremerton may have been a total bust if it wasn't for stopping at Fritz European Fry House; that made it well worth the $6.70 ferry ride over just to inhale, I mean try their fries.  They were some of the best fries I've ever had and the dipping sauces were awesome.  I enjoyed the wasabi garlic mayo and dill ranch, next time I'd like to try their curry mayo or maybe the sweet chili but you know what they are pretty damn tasty without any sauce too.  The fries are fresh and crisp and hot and delicious; check them out if you have the chance.

Besides fries they also have chicken, sausages and fish and chips along with beer, and good beer I might add.  Stella Artois, Naughty Nellies, Belgian Triple all on tap and Hoegaarden, Chimay, Urthel and a few others in bottles and for those who don't like beer they have Lambics but to me Lambics and fries just don't sound like they'd go well together.

Just a word to the wise, the place is small not much room to sit inside but they have a few tables outside so don't bring a group or you'll get frustrated but I bet a small cone of Fritz European Fry House fries would make the ferry ride back to Seattle 100% better so stop in before getting on the ferry and enjoy some tasty Belgium fries.

Fritz is pretty much the coolest thing to hit Bremerton. Ever.

While they have a great selection of fried food and even German sausage, the obvious draw is the Belgian fries, served in a paper cones and with your choice of dipping sauces.  The fries themselves come to you only lightly seasoned, hot and fresh and delightfully crispy.  The selection of dipping sauces goes way beyond your standard "fancy" ketchup and ranch dressing, though you can certainly stick to those if you want.  You can also get a wonderfully zesty honey dijon mustard, zingy dill, or spicy curry ketchup, among many others.  Now THAT'S fancy!

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention their beer collection, which is small but surprisingly diverse.  They almost always have Fat Tire and a few other common brews, but they also have the occasional rarity.  Fritz was the place where I first tried Delerium Tremens, a Belgian beer that put me in a happy haze all the way home - not something they always carry, but I was pleasantly surprised to see it.

Sure, the menu is limited and the place itself is small.  But when you jump off the Seattle ferry and grab a cone of fresh fries with some curry ketchup, a good bottle of beer you probably can't get anywhere else nearby, and sit at a table outside reading or just enjoying the water fountains, you don't really care much about that.

Or at least, I didn't!  Actually, I can't wait to go again!

The only establishment I've been to in Bremerton deserving of five stars.

Great fried foods, Great dipping sauces, rotating beers on tap.  This place doesn't offer a ton but the things they do offer are great.

After a long day at work and a crowded ferry boat ride this place is like an oasis of ethanol and grease beckoning to me.

And damn good sauces.  No, really the sauces were interesting enough to make it worth stopping in.  The guy working there was pretty cool and didn't laugh at us too much for saying that we were curious enough about the place to more or less drive from Tacoma to check it out.

It's a little hard to find and kinda small on the inside... but MMMM potatoes.  And BEER!

Beer & Frites is what the Fritz European Fry House offer. Offering the best of both worlds they say. Located @ the Bremerton Harbourside by the WA State Ferries.

Serving fresh made fries Belgian Style that aren't frozen.... They are served with a bountiful array of dipping sauces made on-site from favorites like ranch & bbq to unique imaginative ones like Thai Peanut sauce even a Hot/Spicy sauce for a kick. ADD some Seasalt and Garlic for added flavor combo!

Belgian Brew is where its @ to even more satisfy your Palate, they have a couple on tap for your pleasure!!..your beer is served in a goblet.. they even have bottles of Lindemans Framboise~all the flavors too!! Raspberry Lambic is my Favorite!

They have indoor & outside seating, viewing a Fountain that shoots a nice little water show with nice ambient music playing in the background.

Fritz European Fry House may have the Most Perfect Fries, Made with Quality Control. The way their sopposed to taste..Yummy Goodness...

Ya' know when you're traveling, and you get hasseled about your tickets, or you can't find a seat on the plane or train, or in this case ferry, and you're wondering why you left home in the first place? But then you find a place that makes it all worth the effort. That is Frtiz's.

We found it after a ferry ride at rush hour and had the fish & chips and a nice big glass of Stella Artois. Mmm is right. The food is fresh and wonderful and the beer just goes so well with the blustery days there.

If I lived near Bremerton, I'd be in there once a week for sure.

I had been wanting to try this place for an extremely long time and one night I really didn't feel like making dinner so my boyfriend suggested we head out for fish and chips (yay!  I should not make dinner more often!)  The store is tiny and it was pretty busy for a weeknight but we did manage to find a couple of bar stools in the corner to devour our fish and chips.  These were some of the best fish and chips I'd ever had - the fish was super moist and we loved all four of the dipping sauces we were able to try.  I'd like to come back on a nice summer night when we can use their patio and bring the puppy.

I'm not too sure what all the hub-bub about this place is, but everyone seems to be all up on their ish about Fritz. I was visiting Bremerton from San Diego and the bf decided to take me here. While the fries were super hot and delicious and crispy, there was nothing particularly special about them.

The tartar and wasabi dipping sauces were good, but again...nothing spectacular. Also, we had the chicken tenders, which again were good, but nothing to write home about. Maybe I'm spoiled from all the NOMS in CA? I don't know.

I'd come back if I were looking for a quick bite while at the ferry terminal, but wouldn't go out of my way to visit.

I enjoy going to Fritz's for a great lunch in downtown bremerton. Sadly, since I'm heading here during working hours, I do not partake in any of the amazing looking beers they have.  But, they do have a fantastic beer menu - some local stuff as well as European beers.

The fries, as mentioned in all the other reviews, are excellent.  I especially love it when it's sweet potato fry time of year (fall).

The chicken baskets or fish baskets are ok.  Nothing too special...haven't had the opportunity to try the sausages yet.

The one downside to this place is if you eat inside (or wait inside for an extended period of time), the grease smell sticks to you.  And then you smell like Fritz's the rest of the day.  This just hasn't happened to me - but to several of my co-workers as well (which was nice to confirm as I though it was just me who smelled! :-)  )

If you don't want to have "the normal" - Fritz's is definitely worth a stop.

Bremerton is not exactly the home of great food. There is one five-star restaurant and one four star restaurant, and two three star restaurants between the city limits of Port Orchard and the central area of concentration of Silverdale, i.e., north of Bucklin Hill Road. Everything else is a two or a one star in that area. Wait a second, let me amend that, I think there might be only one three star restaurant.

    You get the point.

Fritz's really stands out, though, the fries are excellent--one of a half a dozen or so places I truly believe that about, actual potato and the grease, well, whatever they use it is probably bad for you but it isn't transfats, so good enough. The fish is superb, however, and I recommend it--the chicken is also extremely nicely cooked and delectable. The winning point is the huge sauce collection.

The downside? Eh, it's ridiculously tiny and I'd like the interior to be kept warmer  for when you're chilled to the bone in cold and endlessly chilly Bremerton. Also the beer selection is, while probably the best of Bremerton, something that could definitely be spiced up by more microbrews and stouts. If they move to a larger location (without going in debt and folding), crank the heat up (also without going in debt and folding) and start stocking more local microbrews, that'd make Bremerton a two-five-star town. And god is Bremerton ever a town, no matter how big it actually is.

After reading reviews, I had to stop by this place.

I've seen passing by this place for a while without caring to go inside.  Fries?  You mean just fries?  Well whatever, this place is pretty freaking rad.  I stopped by here to see what the commotion was all about before heading onto the ferry.

The place is pretty small, but has indoor and outdoor seating.  The interior has a nice feel to it.

This place specializes in fries, but also serve a "couple" other things.  They have about 10 dipping sauces on the menu which vary from ranch to thai peanut to wasabi garlic.

I want to love this place, but nothing really stuck out at me.  Yeah there's beer, yeah there's fries.  W00t?  Can't say I loved it.  It's good to have something different in Bremerton though!

The fish and chips rival any post-pub place in the UK. Most notable is their selection of in-house made dipping sauces. The Wassabi-Garlic sauce was delicious! If you are not used to fried foods, don't eat an entire order of fish and chips by yourself. It is best shared. The staff was friendly and was glad to walk me through the different sauces, and even gave me a small sample of Irish Death, which I had never tasted before. Have a tap beer with your fish and chips in this welcoming fry house.

Had the brat and an extra cone of fries here...amazing :D the star removal is for lack of good seating, poor menu organization, and overall atmosphere... however, this is still one of my favorite places because they have kept true to their great tasting fries since they opened. My favorite dip is still the curry mayo, however they have about twenty to choose from. their fries are crispy and delicious, but not too crispy and also not too floppy. great for dipping in those sauces! and 4.50 a pint for beer aint bad :D

Without a doubt, the best fish and chips on the Peninsula.  The fries are a belgian twice-fried style in unique oil, making them crispy on the outside and soft (but still cooked!) on the inside.  The dipping sauces are widely varied, including curry mayo, thai peanut, and so many more.  The menu is small, with only five (last I checked) entrees.  But each is outstanding.  This place is a mainstay with shipyard workers and really anyone downtown on lunch, but even at it's busiest you are waiting long for your food.  Table space is something else entirely...  They also have a fine selection of local and imported Belgian beers, including some of their own brewpub, Der Blokken.

Came here while waiting for the ferry and we got the German sausage with kraut and a sample basket. The food was nothing great the sausage was dry and so was the kraut, I dint think the chicken was cooked all the way because it was slimy, i think it was prepackaged also. The fries were OK nothing I would come back for. The sauces were just mayo with flavor wish I would've gone to taco Del mar and saved $17 bucks. Would not go back or recommend it.

Amazingly good french fries, incredible dips, (red pepper parmesian is the bomb) delicious imported beers. Andy is very friendly and likes to talk to his customers. He's perfectly happy serving up his 3 baskets of friend foods, (chicken, fish, or bratwurst) and finding out about the locals. He's in a good spot for a lot of business, people walking by off and on the ferry, but the shop is small. Not a lot of sitting room, but there is the option to sit outside when it's nice. Pretty decent place. They're really proud of their beer selection and after talking to the locals they are very happy with the beer as well. Since I'm not big on beer I can only comment on the venue and food. The burgers were overall pretty good! They were drowned in a dark beer and had great flavoring... something I had never considered before so I might have to try it at a BBQ sometime. The fries were perfect consistency and the sauce selection was pretty awesome. Not too much seating available and the fast food esque environment spurned the 3-star rating. Bring a date for a quick bite to eat but don't expect too much more than you would at McDonalds.

If there's one huge thing that my girlfriend and I can agree on, it's our undying love for all foods with the words "fried", "fries", or "potatoes" in them.

The top of the list is Fries.

We've never tried Belgian-cut fries before, so when we went to Fritz, we were looking to be blown away. We were blown away and then some. The fries are cooked right when you order instead of sitting under a heat lamp all day. And they're mixed and seasoned right there with your choice of sauces. The Thai Peanut Satay was something I wanted to try, but we opted for our good ol' friend Ranch. The sauces are definitely the things that'll keep me coming back.

I'm not too much of a beer drinker, so I can't comment on the selection of the beers, I just know that this'll definitely be the place to go if you're craving some insanely good fries and a good brew. Right along the ferry terminal in Bremerton, it's well worth the parking I paid at the garage for.

After an afternoon tour of the Turner-Joy battleship in the harbor (well worth the $10 fee), we stopped in to Fritz' for some fries.  The counter gal was friendly without being annoying, the fries were hot, fresh and tasty, and the selection of sauces was interesting.  We tried the honey-dijon and the red pepper parmesan--both were good.  They should add melted cheese, brown gravy and a few other standards to their topping list but overall it was a good experience and we would return.

YUM! I love having options in dipping sauce. Their ranch and tartar were amazing. Anytime I need a fix for chicken strips, I'm going here. The breading was thin and even, just how I like it. I wouldn't JUST get the fries here because, after all, they're just fries.
