So glad that Paul had brought this to my attention by reviewing it (THANKS!) took a lovely ride thru here yesterday (Dammit, I left my camera at home, which i usually never go ANYWHERE without it!) but it was drizzling out.....oh well, next time! :o)
anyway, after eating a scrumptious late breffie at Mo's yesterday, we took a lil ride thru here to see what it was about. It was lovely....the tulips are all in bloom.....Cant wait for the rose garden to come alive!
This is a nature photog's paradise, right in Hartford! We are very lucky! It also makes a nice drive thru, on your way to the 'Pond view' restaurant! (I'm going to have to look that up, see what it is rated, there were MANY people there yesterday, and a couple of buses arriving as we were driving by!

A beautiful city park. Located in mostly in West Hartford, it straddles the City line with Hartford and is owned by the City. It is home to America's oldest public rose garden. Many people use the park as a backdrop for wedding photos when the roses are in bloom. There are greenhouses, herb gardens and flower gardens devoted to perennials and annuals. The Friends offer programming throughout the year, including full moon walks, concerts and plant sales. There are tennis courts and there's a very nice restaurant, The Pond House, which also offers a banquet facility. Well worth a visit.
