Now I'm really torn because I looove Friendly's. However, this one definitely isn't the best they have to offer.
Tonight the service was mediocre at best. Our waitress was new and trying really hard, but still, it was disappointing service.
Second, the food quality isn't as good anymore. These places were so much better when they had a simple menu, not a 3-4 page menu.
But, and this is a big but (no pun intended), there is nothing that can beat a Reese's Pieces Sundae. Now I always go for the "Happy Endings" size (once again, no pun intended) because it's not quite as big. Their ice cream dishes tend to be delicious.
Oh and the bathrooms were beyond disgusting, borderline unusable. There was a sink that had been left running and was the possible cause of the fact that the entire sink area was flooded with about an inch of water.
In the end, I keep going back to various Friendlys, as I have been since I can remember, just for the ice cream.
I went up to Philly to go to a art show and when I was heading back home from it I stopped by Friendly's to get some dinner. I mean I have about 2 Friendly's right by my house in Schenectady so I mean I didn't expect anything less then what they had to offer. Right when I walked into this one it had a really strange smell. All the staff were in their early 20's and I guess they were all more than likely college students. When we were seated we sat there for about 10 minutes just waiting for a waiter to come help us and get us our drinks. I saw multiple people walk by us that worked there and just smiled. Finally a guy came to help and it took him a while to get us our drinks even after we ordered. The best part of our whole experience was that the food didn't take that long to get to us, but I mean come on we ordered a hot dog, mac and cheese, and a bowl of clam chowder so it definitely shouldn't have taken long anyway. Well we finish our food and we sit around waiting for a really long time because we wanted ice cream...now when he came back to ask if we wanted anything else I specifically told him we wanted refills on our drinks (because I had been sitting there when I was half way through with my meal with a empty drink) with our ice cream...well about 10 minutes later he brings us our ice cream and they are half melted! And on top of that he didn't even give us a refill! I will never ever stop at this Friendly's ever again. I highly suggest they get some better management in there because they need help.
