Gayle, the Kid, and I came in for our annual Fresh Bistro lunch and the place was packed! And although the service slowed down accordingly, we appreciated Jennifer's (the owner) smile and hospitality, and of course the comfortable dining area.
My son was disappointed that we were too late in the week for Thai night, but enjoyed his Thai Peanut Noodles (served warm) just the same. I went against form and didn't order a Blue Cheeseburger and instead very much enjoyed their Hot Turkey, Cheddar & Bacon sandwich on ciabatta. Gayle had a Mango Sesame Chicken Salad which she thought was just OK.
Besides Gayle's feeling that their lunch menu has become a little boring, the only other concern is the music that plays in the kitchen was loud enough to be heard in our part of the dining room.
I'm sure we will be back next year, although it may be time to graduate to dinner and cocktails.Listed in: Gayle, Iowa Great Lakes

I have enjoyed lunch and dinner here many times. The staff are very friendly and the food is very high quality! I like their menu options and they have a good wine list. It's a great upscale restaurant in downtown Spirit Lake.
