104 reviews for Frenchy's Beauty Parlor
One of the Business' Favorite Reviews What's This?
This was supposed to be written forever ago!! When my regular gal canceled on me last minute, I called this place & they got me in RIGHT away! And not to some untalented freak either, I got Kelly & the lady gave me a perfect color & cut.
So when/if my usual chica ever cannot fit me in, I will FO' SHO' come back here & see miss Kelly.
I was able to make an appointment the same day, so that was awesome. The place is an interesting mixture of 50s retro and punk rocker chicks. It has a nice vibe for everyone I feel. They are very friendly and even offer you a drink while you wait.
Haircut includes brief head massage, shampoo, styling and blowdry (if you need it). For men, it's $45 (20% off for your 1st time if you mention Yelp). I was pretty satisfied with my cut for the most part. Kelly took her time and really nitpicked for perfecion. The only thing that bothered me was that I felt the end of my cut got rushed because it was goign to be past closing and Kelly had gotten stuck with a last-minute walk-in after me. I didn't quite feel like I could ask for last minute adjustments and ultimately my bangs were longer than I wanted. (It might be worth noting that I was going from long hair past my shoulders to medium-length hair, so it was big job that required going overtime).
Otherwise, great place. Good talent, friendly employees, easy to get an appointment. Go for it.
I'm a pretty tough customer when it comes to my hair. Having gone through cosmetology school and being keenly aware of when a stylist is going off plan to do their own thing, has made finding a home salon a bit daunting and trusting stylists to listen to me even less plausible. So when my stylist of the last 4 years became unavailable, I popped into Yelp! knowing that it's done me right in the past when looking for something new. After reading the reviews of Frenchy's, I didn't hesitate to call. After all, I've driven past the retro-glam salon a jillion times and have wondered if I should try them out. Since I botched my home color-stripping, I was suddenly compelled and I am THRILLED that I went!!
Lori and Sandy did an AMAZING job on my hair! Quick consult with the color and spent a ridiculously relaxing hour and a half getting the prettiest hair color I've ever had. Everyone was friendly and courteous, the atmosphere is both lively and relaxing without pretention. I found myself thinking, "Oooh now I know why women used to go spend the day at the beauty parlor!" It's the first place I've gone to where hanging out didn't seem like a bad idea.
I'm already passing out cards and telling friends from near and far to get their butts down to Frenchy's. I guess, in a way, I'm saying you should too! Do it. You won't regret it.
Sunny
I love everything about Frenchy's, from the sparkly pink walls to the coffee table books. They bring you coffee when you're waiting for your appointment, and then before they wash your hair, you'll get the most amazing scalp massage EVER. It's the little things that mean the most.
Besides all that (and the amazing prices), there's a girl named Lacey. I freakin LOVE Lacey. No one else in the world touches my hair and that's just how it goes. Sometimes I don't even know what I want done with it, but Lacey always does, and I always walk out of there looking fabulous. Plus, she's so cute and nice to talk to!
All the girls working there are so cute and talented; you can't go wrong at Frenchy's!
Lacey Walker rocks and so does Frenchys, they have the best hair color lines, stylists and I love the atmosphere for men and women its so nice. My daughter and I have been going there for about two years now and I love everything about the place and the people the vibes are good and its a hipster kinda cool place that you will feel at home and treated well. Plus the free arm massage is wonderful and relaxing. Be sure to bring cash for tips and have a wonderful ... time. I cant wait to get back to LA / Burbank to go its my first stop shop.
Frenchy from 'Grease' must have NOT been a beauty school drop-out and opened this salon in Burbank. All the Pink Ladies are jealous...
What can I say that hasn't already been said? Frenchy's is a salon with 50s rockabilly flair, tattoo books and art mags in the waiting area, pink and black walls, and the coolest inked girls walking around (and NOT trendy hipster wannabees but genuine rocker chicks). The service is impeccable as you are immediately greeted with a smile and a offer for a drink. You are made to feel as one of the group. The scalp massage is spa-sensual and they even allow you to pick a scented oil (try the Cinnamon Leaf!).
Juliana is awesome and chats with you like your bff and doesn't just hack your hair off but instead affirms with you every step of the way if you want to proceed and if you like her work up to that point.
I'll keep this short, but the point is: Frenchy's has the environment, the girls, the prices, and the amazing talent and expertise to keep you back again and again.
FYI: If you do break a hand mirror like I accidentally did, the staff is kind enough to laugh it off :)
You would be unwise to pick a stuffy Beverly Hills prissy salon over Frenchy's. Trust me, you'll make all the T-birds turn their heads!
Awesome, awesome - and not just saying that for the discount on my root job in a few weeks.
Lori, you SAVED MY HEAD! Oh man, I can't even begin to describe what I walked into this place looking like, but I walked out looking and feeling like a million bucks.
Bonus - it sure didn't COST a million bucks.
THANK YOU!!!
For the price, you can't beat it! The atmosphere is great, and the people are really nice. Kristen did a great job on my hair! I've made Frenchy's my regular hair salon.
This is a great place with a great crew they have taken me with very little notice and do a swell job. Groovy ol' school look and great music! Highly recommended but a little pricey for a guys haircut.
I called Frenchy's for an appointement after reading all these reviews on yelp.
I've had lots of trouble finding someone that knows what to do with my thick, curly hair and that I sometimes straighten. I made an appointment with Lacey and I'm so glad I did!
She gave me an amazing cut (that I've had for a week and a half now so I've had time to evaluate it) that works whether I straighten my hair or leave it curly. It doesn't require me to know how to do a lot of crazy beauty school techniques to make it look good either.
I will definitely be going back to see Lacey. She's laid back, fun to talk to, and really knows what she's doing.
A hint on parking - the side streets and super easy to park on if it's after 5pm on the weekdays or anytime on the weekends.
After reading the amazing Yelp reviews on Frenchy's i decided to call. I was desperate for a hairSTYLE.
I have fine, curly hair, not a lot of it and after a diet i started losing a bunch, which really freaked me out.
I don't think people knew what to do with my hair, and the couple of times i did leave the salon with a semi smile on my face, i wasn't able to redo the same look at home.
I briefly told that to the receptionist and she recommended Lori.
Lori, Thank you, really, you are amazing!
What might be just another haircut for you really made my day (week, month...however long it'll be until my next appointment, probably not very long).
That new look gave me such a boost of confidence, that had not happened in a very long time.
It wasn't so drastic that my friends /colleagues didn't recognize me, but that was just enough to make me look like i live in 2009, instead of an 80's TV sitcom.
The color and cut are both amazing and the price was really fair.
I highly recommend Frenchy's, especially Lori, but the whole staff is great, really fun environment, love the pink and black scheme...and the music ruled.
The vibe and tattoos actually made me feel at home, but even if it's not your thing don't let it scare you from trying the place, they are pros. There were a couple of guys having getting haircuts there too.
They use Aveda and Bumble & Bumble products.
And if you say you found out about them on Yelp you get 20% off your first visit :). i haven't seen them advertised anywhere else, in this case word of mouth is worth gold. Go for it!
So I tried this salon yesterday for the first time and boy, was I impressed! I've been driving up to San Francisco for the past year to get my hair cut by the same person i've trusted with my hair for 5 yrs. Finally, I decided it was time for a change. So I made a cut and color appt with Allanna. Good call!! She rocked my hair cut and color.
I got to the salon and was immediately greeted by warm staff members and offered a beverage. Looking at the stylists at the salon, you can tell they take care of their own hair (all of them had cute cuts), so that put me at ease as well. I nervously took the chair and put my trust in Allanna! Her personality helped put me at ease because she was so friendly and at the end of the whole process, I looked in the mirror and loved what I saw!
This will definitely be my new hair place! They rock!
I don't know if it's just me or if everyone gets this lucky, but every time I happen to be close by and I realize I am in need of an emergency bang trim, I always catch Lacey between appointments and they are able to take care of me on the spot. I could've sworn I had already written a review expressing my adoration for Lacey, but anyway, she is so nice and accommodating. I had taken a picture of a girl I had seen at a wedding because I liked her hair. This photo made me look like a stalker and was taken from a distance, but Lacey wasn't phased she got it immediately and recreated the style for me. LOVE IT
Salon is cute and the receptionist sincerely friendly... As a matter of fact, everyone was really friendly. Everyone except the girl cutting my hair.
Her name is Marissa and I had made my appointment with her specifically, based on high recommendations from friends.
Unfortunately, I did not have the same experience as my friends and I will not be recommending Marissa to anyone.
She was short and snobbish, (apparently I'm supposed to be impressed that she cuts hair for commercials - a real rarity in Los Angeles, I'm sure) and she didn't even come close to achieving the hair cut I asked for. I mean, you can be a biatch - if you rock my hair cut. But if you don't rock it - you can suck it. I'll take my money elsewhere.
Frenchy's is so girlie, so rockabilly cute, that when I go there I don't want to leave! I have gotten facials while listening to Siouxie and the Banshees, and gotten my haircut to David Bowie, all in the super frenchy black and pink salon.
Obviously, I love Frenchy's and adore my stylist, Julianna! Every time I go there, I feel drab and frumpy, and in her efficient, professional hands, I look like a rockstar when I leave. She is also very funny and relaxed, which really helps the experience. I just got my hair blown out last week on a Wed, and it kept until Sunday. Awesome, peeps.
Juliana and her magic hair straightener rocks.
Peace!
I have very long hair and i'm very particular about hair cuts, because I've been horrified with my past results. Frenchy's is an exception. My hair stylists name escapes me, but trust me, they're all as good. She cut my hair JUST how i described it, and they were VERY CHEAP. I paid $55 for my haircut, and anywhere else I would have paid 100+ for a horrible job. Don't get freaked out by the appearance (very pricey looking), they're extremely reasonable. I loved that this place reminded me of old-style hair salons where you'd go not just for a trim, but rather, for gossip and conversation.
Miss Jasmin,
Perhaps you spent too much time under the dryer that day?
I would have to take your friends side on this one!
Marisa has been doing my hair for 8 years and SHE IS AMAZING!!
She is great with any style/ time period you are looking for.
Maybe you failed to communicate clearly what exactly you were looking to have done. She has personally transformed me from Ghetto to Gourmet, from Funkified to FanFuk*nTabulous!!
I have even hired her for a some major photo shoots, of which the client was thrilled with her service & attention to detail! Hair & Make Up looked just gorgeous, and put my models at ease with her fun attitude.
She is GREAT to have on set!
I myself have referred at least 6 people to her and not one of them was left unsatisfied!
I also HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER for Weddings & other special events when you need to look TRULY DIVINE!!
THANKS MARISA!!
I am usually very reluctant when it comes to hair salons.
I had someone back in Texas that I trusted completely, so it was not easy coming to terms with the idea of doing the whole "trial and error" of finding a new stylist.
Thankfully, going to Frenchy's was the best decision I could have made for my hair!
This is my kind of place. The salon itself has so much character, and I loved the fact that instead of trashy tabloid magazines they had Betty Paige and tattoo books and things of that nature to read. The receptionist immediately offered me something to drink when I walked into the salon, which was a very nice gesture. It's nice to be greeted by a smiling face and was a welcomed change from most salons that I've been to.
My stylist was Krisitn, and let me say, she did and amazing job! I have stick-straight, flat hair, and she gave me an edgy cut with volume and styled it extremely well.
I was originally going to go in for a cut AND color, but after a consultation with her she explained to me that to go from the almost black hair(dyed) hair that I have right now to the deep red I want would require color stripping, bleach, and then dying to get a really rich color. She obviously knows what she's doing, and cared more than most stylists who would just slap on some color and hope for the best. So unfortunately I have to return next week for the 4 hour process of transforming my color, but I know that I am in good hands.
I will update whenever I get my hair colored, but I am so impressed with Frenchy's that I have found my go-to salon!
UPDATE:
I went back to Kristin to get my almost-black hair turned into red.
The process was long, because Kristin wanted to do the best job.
I had my color completely stripped, my hair bleached, and THEN dyed.
The staff was amazing again, and very friendly.
The color is BEAUTIFUL. It's a shade of red that I have always envied. I've gotten so many compliments on it. Kristin is great and will do everything to make your hair look beautiful.
I just moved to LA from Chicago and desperately needed a hair cut (almost a year of no trim, no cutting); I found that Frenchy's had some great reviews and decided to take a trip there. I'm admittedly very wary of those who cut my hair, I'm always expecting the worst and to get the wrong style that I spend years growing back. I think I have a phobia...LOL.
Frenchy's is a cute little salon, I walked in and felt not as afraid as I usually am to get my hair cut. The place was very clean, staffed with friendly people, and they even offer you a drink which I thought was really great.
Lori was my stylist and she was really great too, I'm going to be back there hopefully for some type of color and I think it may become my regular place. Lori was very attentive and did the style I wanted to a T, she also was very friendly. I didn't feel awkward or invisible, as some salon's I've been to have made me feel back in Chicago. They also give you a scalp massage with your choice of essential oil, which was also amazing and relaxing.
Anyone looking for a great salon need not look any further!
I usually get my hair cut as a hair model at the Sassoon Academy, usually by one of the teachers. I like the Sassoon Academy as long as you don't mind getting a very Sassoon-y haircut that's all asymmetrical and takes about 79 hours and is pretty particular. The last time I went in, they gave me a very mushroomy bowl cut with long long bangs that were always in my face and it was wayyyyy too 80s for me.
So I looked on Yelp and found Frenchy's and thought they would be perfect for helping me out...and they were!
I printed out a bunch of pictures of Audrey Hepburn, cause that's what I wanted my hair to look like, and brought them in to KRISTIN, who was my amazing stylist. Aside from gabbing about diving and her upcoming trip to Southeast Asia, she gave me a wicked scalp massage, and then gave me some serious trimming with a feather razor, which I love.
Basically, she gave me a super-cute short haircut that made my boyfriend say "That's the cutest haircut EVER" when I walked in the door. I go back and forth between wondering if it's still too round for me -- another friend of mine said I looked like Harry Potter -- but I think that's just what my hair does. Kristin did a great job with my hair and I am super excited to go back again!
I found Frenchy's through Yelp and requested Lacey for my cut. I was a few minutes early, and I was nicely greeted by the receptionist and Lacey who also happened to be up front. I was taken to Lacey's assistant who then administered a wonderful scalp massage that I had never had before.
Lacey and her assistant were both extremely friendly. Lacey asked what I wanted, and she double checked with me along the way. I was out of the chair before I knew it, and I was pleased with the results. Lacey also let me know that (not sure if it's just at her chair) that a bang trim is free for future visits.
The only issue I had was payment. Be sure to bring cash or your checkbook, because you can pay for the service with your card but gratuity is only accepted by check or cash, so luckily I had my checkbook with me otherwise I would've had to trek to an ATM. Overall, I was very happy with Lacey at Frenchy's!
I've been a faithful customer at Frenchy's for a few years now, and just today received my last perfect cut there - moving to NY! Oh no! So, in honor of this latest cut (which my boyfriend LOVED), I write this review...
Other Yelper's here have already covered the basics: the friendly staff, the cute, rockin pink salon and those wonderful complimentary scalp massages...really, you can't beat the star treatment you get as a matter of course at Frenchy's.
I'm a simple gal, and came to Frenchy's looking for a good bob cut. My first session with Lori, the sweetest gal this side of the Mississip, was such a hit that I've had no one else cut my hair for nearly two years (except for once when she was gone for the Winter holidays and I went with Kristen, who was great too). Before I met Lori, I'd always struggled with asserting my hair needs to whomever was cutting my hair, mostly because I felt they usually didn't care - not so with Lori. As simple as my cut is, from the get go she took the time (over an hour!) to cut it exactly as I wanted, asking the all right questions and and making it perfect. Since then, I've looked forward to having my cuts done by Lori alone, even if I had to go a few months without one for one reason or another - I'd rather wait! The friendly conversation and skilled styling kept me coming back, and two or three gals from work now also call Frenchy's their salon.
One last thing: before I had Lori cut my hair, I'd never used a blowdryer, round-brushes, or a hair straightener in my life...her cuts were so good I actually went out and *bought* this stuff for the first time so I could enjoy my fresh styles longer! Yay! Sure am gonna miss Lori and Frenchy's...
A cute pink retro salon with tatted up ladies.
Juliana is the best. I go all the way to Burbank just to see her (I live in West LA). Definitely worth the trip & the staff is great as well. You get a scented oil head massage before your haircut - nice touch.
My stylist Lori was home for the holidays so I came in to see Kristin after my friend showed up with a sharp cut from her the day after I was told I would have to reschedule my original appointment. She gave me most perfect brown-black color, saucy sideswept bangs that don't get in my way and layers that are anything but blunt or choppy. I dare say I look rather cute. Ha!
I will probably stick with Lori because she's the perfect amount of friendly without being overly chatty, but this experience just confirmed Frenchy's is the only salon I will be frequenting so long as I'm in L.A. and not a millionaire.

My hair + Julianna = BFF!!!!
Great find in Burbank. Cute retro casual place. You get to see a lot of fun funky hair colors and haircuts. I have seem some pretty amazing coloring done in this place!
I am pretty boring with my hair, but I don't want the "mom from the suburbs" haircut I seem to get everywhere else, even though I am not a even mom yet. I have fine hair and Juliana does a great job giving it life and style. I would really recommend her and the salon.
Get my hair done by Kristin. As a guy, you would think that cutting our hair is easy, especially because I wear it short.
Kristin makes an art out of it! She doesn't use scissors at all. Instead, she literally sculpts my hair with her little texturizing blade or whatever it's called and her hands. It's an amazing cut.
I always feel really taken care of when I see her. From the scalp massage, to the rinse, to the time she takes with me instead of the rush n' cut job other places give guys, she rocks.
Sure, it's a bit girly -- the place is called Frenchy's after all -- but girly in that bad ass way. From the tats to the music, it's definitely a place for guys, too.
And when you go, get your hair cut by Kristin. Simply incredible.
So the new girl I found, Vanessa, moved to Texas. Man! So I set up an appointment with the girl replacing her, Kristin.
Okay... I was very scared. I have naturally wavy hair so usually I have have stylist who also have curly hair. Well, Kristin doesn't have curly hair so ... gulp.
Okay... let me tell you. This is the best haircut I have ever had!!! She cut a lot of layers!!! I always ask for that but stylist say it will be too puffy. But I don't have puffy hair. I have a lot of hair but it isn't puffy. I told here just do what you think my cut should be, and she did an awesome job. My hair used to get kinda flat after a little bit, but she cut it in a way that that doesn't happened anymore.
And the color!! I have had soooo many compliments on my color. She used three different shades of blond to keep it natural looking, but the price remained the same.
SO ATTENTION LADIES!!!!! Go to Frenchy's and ask for Kristin. You won't regret it!

Great place to get a great hair styled! This is my second time going to Marissa and I can't believe I waited so long to go to her in the first place!!!!! She does a great job at listening to my needs and giving me fabulous style so my hair looks great!!! Definitely worth every dollar I paid for, and I feel great!!!!!!!
The salon it's self is fashionably retro and charming! I recommend you make an appoint there soon, and don't forget to book with Marissa, I know you will love her service!!!
I got my haircut here ONCE thinking that this would be a great spot to get a custom cut (as mentioned all over their site) and I'll never go back to this salon. Sure it's a cute salon, but I got the WRONG hairdresser.
The girl who cut my hair didn't take her time or make suggestions and didn't even finish styling my hair (left with wet hair). It was the worst hair-cut/experience I've had. I wish that I didn't pay, but I did. I'm a local in Burbank so I'd be a good client to try to keep; however I don't think this chick knew ANYTHING about customer service. She antagonized me throughout my haircut as well. Who wants to be antagonized? She didn't listen to any of my requests, instead she would roll her eyes.
Also, the scalp massage they offer- I could have passed on it. It was really awkward. NEVER going back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Maybe there's a better hairdresser here than the one I got, but I'm not going back to find out.
I have been searching, to no avail, for an amazing stylist for as long as I can remember. After reading all the glowing reviews here on yelp about Frenchy's I decided to take a chance and put my hopes and dreams into the hands of the amazing Lacey.
As you've no doubt read, the place is adorable and I love that it doesn't look like every other salon I've ever been in. My winglady and I were greeted with warmth and offered drinks immediatley. I waited for only a few minutes and was led back to Lacey to dicuss my hair and my vision for it. Ok, let me be clear about something, When it comes to my hair I'm completely insane. I have very long hair that every stylist seems to just want to chop off into some lame shoulder length typical soccer mom cut. I know this because they get an insane gleam in their eyes as they run their fingers through my hair and tell me they would like to try something "different" on my hair. I know they just want to steal my mojo!!! I'm like Samson, all my power resides in my hair...But I digress. Lacey actually listened to me and then told me EXACTLY what I wanted! After recieving an awesome scalp massage from her sweet assistant Sandy, my hair guru got down to business. We had a great conversation and I felt completely at ease as she would ask me questions about every section she was cutting into. It seemed to take no time at all for me to FINALLY have the hair I'd been asking for for years!! I have super fun, edgy, layered yet still long hair that is so easy to fix I cant believe it. Lacey made me look like a freakin' rockstar and I'm considering starting a band even though I can't sing...hey, everyone else is doing it.
So, if you are considering a haircut make sure to go to Lacey. She's fun, she's cute, she has awesome tattoos, She gives kick ass hair cuts, and she likes cupcakes....what more could you ask for?
OKAY! Listen up ladies and gentlemen!
For the last 4+ years, I have been getting my hair cut & colored by the infamous Kristin. Before I met her, I would LITERALLY not let anyone touch my hair...my hair was down to my bootie and all one length. I was literally, at that point, SCARED to have anyone cut my hair. It took me 1YEAR of watching her cut my hubby's hair to let her come near me...
Now I cannot let a single soul other than Kristin touch my hair. It's a curse (she is in LA area and I am in SF) and a blessing (I still get to see her every other month...I FLY HER TO SF!).
RUN don't walk! Your hair needs her!!!!
there are times, despite my adorable moniker, that i am extremely dangerous.
these times generally begin approximately seven days prior to the start of my cycle, to be blunt. i change from a cheerful, happy-go-lucky creature to a simmering cauldron of emotions, hormones, and edgy energy. during these times, it takes A LOT OF WORK not to rip anyone's larynx out with my teeth, let alone sparkle.
this week - which is one of those times - has been rougher than usual. there have been little nitpicky fights, arguments, injustices, and annoyances gathering and building into a huge ball of frustration. what i had to look forward to in order to assuage some of these grievances was a date later tonight, and a long-overdue haircut at frenchy's this afternoon. but when i arrived at frenchy's, i learned i'd been booked for a bang trim instead of a full cut.
i could practically smell the smoke coming from my own ears when i heard this. i explained, in what i am sure was a tight and growly tone, that i was certain i had booked a full cut, because i hadn't been able to get in for a bang trim the last two times i've called. (and i should note that i called last minute while i was in the neighborhood, not well in advance, so not being able to get in was definitely my fault.) marissa apologized and asked if i could come in tomorrow or later in the evening, offering to stay late. i honestly tried really hard not to sound mad, but if there's one thing at which i'm absolutely terrible, it's hiding my emotions. i had taken off time this afternoon in order to get a haircut; i had a date later that evening; plus my hair was long and shaggy and i'd cut my own bangs the previous week to keep them out of my eyes. after explaining all this, i said not to worry (i may have actually muttered, "just forget it" because i'm a jerk) and made to get up.
marissa, god bless her surely-deserving of sainthood soul, told me to wait and offered to trim the ends of my ratty nest - free of charge - in the 15 minutes before her next appointment was to show up. i grudgingly agreed, and she dove right in, working away and chatting at me as though i wasn't being a total ice queen. she offered to have her assistant wash and style my hair (which was nasty after being in the hot sun all day) as well as give me a scalp massage.
SERIOUSLY. THIS WOMAN IS GANDHI.
i ended up spending almost an hour and a half there, being pampered at no cost, receiving apologies for the mix-up (which was clearly just a miscommunication for which i accept part of the blame), and coming out with my hair looking shiny and healthy.
i hugged marissa good-bye after thanking her profusely, and made a point to schedule my next cut and color in advance while i was there instead of being a last-minute crazy woman ever again. and of course i tipped her, but i should have also said i'm sorry for being a pain in the ass.
i know this is turning into more of a novel than a review, but i wanted to illustrate why i keep going back to this place. i love having someone who gives me a great haircut, of course, but mostly i come back because they make me feel like i'm important to them, and they want me to be happy and look great. EVEN WHEN I'M A SCOWLING HARPY.
amazing. just amazing.

I don't know what I would do with myself if Lacey ever left town.
I stumbled upon this place when I was living in Burbank and now that I'm in Santa Monica, I still make the 25 mile trek back to Burbank to see Lacey. This girl knows my hair inside and out and I trust no one else to touch my head but her.
Whenever I go in there with pictures of styles that I like, Lacey will tell me why it does or doesn't work for my hair and always has suggestions of how we can make it work for me. Even when I don't have a really great idea about what I want, she'll come up with something that I like. The best part is, she'll never do anything without asking me first - which is something I find a lot of stylists don't do, annoyingly enough.
I also recently got some cool chunky highlights in my hair, done by Lacey, and have gotten a ton of compliments about how nice they look. This girl does it all!
And to prove just how good Lacey is, my mother, who NEVER liked any of my previous stylists, wants me to make an appointment for her to come get her haircut when she comes to vist me from the Bay Area.
The best part is, the haircuts are reasonably priced at $55. I've paid upward of $80 for a haircut in Beverly Hills and did not get the same fabulous results as I do here.
Lacey is a rockstar!
Well, its about time I get on yelp and write some reviews! What has inspired me? JULIANA! She preforms a miracle on my hair every time I see her. She has taken me from brunette to blonde and back. Always something fresh and funky up her sleeve. I love the way she cuts. I am always beyond satisfied. And you know its a good cut when people ask where you got your hairs did. Everyone in the salon is very friendly. And I love the scalp massage!
I'm not usually one to write reviews here, but I must say that I have never gotten a bad haircut from Juliana. She is visionary & cooperative as a stylist, the conversation is always great, & it doesn't hurt that she's adorable too! The rest of the staff at Frenchy's is also extremely helpful & accommodating; an all-around terrific experience!
Marisa colored and cut my hair. It looks great and I've received a lot of compliments on it.
The only weird thing was the person who was helping her wash and dry my hair way being kind of antagonistic toward me--don't know why. I was just reading a magazine while I waited for my color to take. This person was not looking at me while she blow-dried my hair so the nozzle was getting really close to my scalp and it was feeling extremely hot.
I tolerated it the first 2 times but the third time was so hot I reflexively jerked my head to the side and said "Ow!" She apologized ( I think) and grabbed a diffuser. It was just weird that she seemed so pissed off. Marisa was cool though.
Lacey is the best! I was so happy to find someone so quickly when I moved to L.A. that could cut my hair. There prices for cuts are not too bad either.
The salon itself is cute but I'm used to going to places that are a little more sophisticated and trendy but who cares? I get an incredible hair cut and color and thats all that matters.
Lacey is also super cool chic, very friendly and consistent with your hair. I've gone twice already and will be back again in a month! I recommend Lacey to anyone, she listens to what you want and gives an amazing hair cut!
I can now say I have found MY salon!
Decided give 'em a call and see if they had any availabilities for just a cut for the same day (a Sunday, even!) . Lo and behold, they did! So I strolled in about 10 minutes before my time, checked in, and was offered a beverage. There's PLENTY of coffee table books to peruse. One that I now need to find, in fact. Loved it!
I was beeing seen by Lori, and she's adorable. Wisconsin accent and cute hair...really makes you feel comfortable. I told her what I had in mind, how I wanted a change. She grabbed their look book and pointed out the picture she was thinking of for me, and we came to a mutual decision.
The scalp massage was heaven. Katie did a great job at shampooing (they use AVEDA for the essential oils and Bumble & Bumble for shampoo/product). We talked the whole time she was cutting, and I ended up with what has to be my favorite hair EVER. Seriously. It's cute, flouncy, and just what I've always wanted.
And to boot, the girl at the next station over went to my high school. Hell, she was on the JV team of my sport! Many rambled off names of classmates later, and a bill that really was affordable, I am sincerely happy with Frenchy's.
Just go there. You'll love it.
When I was nine years old, I was dragged by my hair to attend music camp and play the cello amongst a group of child prodigies. Three hours into the program, I cried profusely for my mom. She picked me up shortly after as the music director laughed at me for experiencing such intense separation anxiety. I ran into him recently, and he was still laughing at me.
The only other time I've felt anything remotely close to that was when I met Lacey at Frenchy's. And she's not even gone. Nor is she planning to ever go anywhere. But she is SO GOOD that I have sporadic panic attacks in fear that she will move one day, like my previous stylists, leaving me confused, alone, and full of bad hair. At my last visit I even said: "Promise me you'll never leave!!!" God I'm so insecure.
The first time I went to this salon, I literally pulled out a sheet of paper from my purse with a list of requirements for my haircut. Lots of volume in the crown. Limited layers. Thick, side-swept bangs that can easily be disguised as short layers. Keep my hair long. Lacey not only listened carefully to what I wanted but she blew me away with the best haircut of my life. And she does it every single time. In fact, somehow it gets better and better. Even when my hair is grown out and I roll out of bed after a crazed, drunken weekend my hair still looks intentionally Farrah Fawcett-y. Or if I want, I can build a sleek, professional look. It doesn't matter, this style is SO versatile.
And might I mention that I have long, flat, Asian hair that's been the root of my lifelong struggle for playful, volumized hair? Lacey SAVED ME.
Again: Lacey, DON'T EVER LEAVE ME!!!! XOXO :)
