ah memories.
I came here as a toddler, to play in the sand, and as an elementary school-aged kid to do the little circuit exercise thing with my dad.
I used to come here drunk as a teen, climbing on top of the splintery swing set, and would walk into the senior center, where they were dancing to the country song Elvira, and be tripped out.
this is a pretty small park, and gets very few visitors, so you generally have it to yourself if you are bringing your toddlers to play.
They've dramatically upgraded the senior center, and now that my dad is old, he gets to go work out here for free. I imagine his buff, 55 year old self running in circles around some tiny 80 year old ladies, and I have to smile. the senior center closes at 6 pm I think, old people need their rest.
Newly remodeled this city of Santa Clara park has a great kid's playground. There are only a couple of small picnic tables (seat 4) and the trees are too immature to offer much shade on hot days.
This park is located next to the city of Santa Clara Senior Citizen Center which is fantastic (too bad it is just for folks 60+). It is great to see young & old folks playing together outside. Kudos to the city of Santa Clara for paring this 2 things together!
