Freddy's is probably the best grocery chain in the Portland area.  

It has gotten so large that it often seems to have that "postal service" vibe to it.  However you usually get good customer service and the quality of the products is good to excellent.

Pricing at Fred Meyers is good also.  

Their big advantage is that you can get almost anything you're shopping for, yard, garden, grocery, movies, music, electronic, clothing, things for the home...

Stay alert,  a few items are NOT priced well!  They've gotta make that profit!  For instance, you might find some live plants on sale in the garden department, but that potting soil just might have a not so obvious price that is jacked up, in order to off-set the sale on the plants.

It does kinda bother me that some of the employees look weary.  Makes me wonder if they're treated fairly.
