6 reviews for Fox & Hound
We didn't go to Fox and Hound with the expectation of stellar food or a fancy interior. There was two things in mind - a good place to watch the game with a good beer selection. We got both.
We both did order food, but nothing to write home about. The service wasn't that great either. Don't get me wrong, our server was nice and accommodating however he wasn't around that often and only showed up when I asked the other server for something.
Overall, I would recommend Fox and Hound if you are looking for a place to watch the game.
I've been to the Fox and Hound approximately 10 times up until this review and I really havent had a bad experience. Being a national chain and located in a strip mall, its not your neighborhoody, down home feeling bar.
The interior is a nice clean dark woodsy feel with stein's hung on the wall. Other than it having tons of flat screens on the walls and backroom pool tables for rent and free cork-board darts, you really couldnt tell it is supposed to be a sports bar. There is plenty of seating: be it booths, larger tables, or long tables with bar stools. Place gets pretty packed on thurs-sat from about 9-10pm until around midnight then it seems to dwindle off (at least when I was there). Not a whole lot of intra-group mixing it appears, also the customers seem to be pretty well-behaved. People are usually dressed like your typical out of college crowd mixed with some local sports-team-logo'd attire.
Large beer selection (tap and bottles) and decent enough liquor selection. Drinks are priced like its a national chain (expect a rail mixed drink or a pint of beer to cost from $4-6), not cheap, but they do have daily drink specials that are ok.
This is most definitely the most happening place I have been to in Carol Stream, but there really isnt much competition. I love the free darts and friendly waitresses/staff. Closes at 2:30am but then you can head to the Coach House in Roselle which is open until 4am.
**EDIT** the limes here are out of this world if you drink your whiskey with lime. The waitresses are so friendly, they gave me 5 lime slices to take home when I asked. I officially love this place. Jim Thome has a special place in my heart.
Also they just got a juke box, which was the bars only major downfall. Play Bush Machinehead if you have any guts.

I mean its the fox. Its about as classy as you can get for the burbs.
I've been here twice, so don't go changing your plans for tonight based on this. But let me know if I'm wrong if you do go, okay?
First of all, the outside of this place is deceiving. The place is huge. Besides the bar/restaurant seating up front, there's a whole big-screen/video game section in the back, so don't get stuck standing at the bar. Unless that's what you want to do, of course.
Secondly, it's a little loud. But duh!, it's a sports bar, so deal with it. This is actually a great place for the proverbial table full of loud women to go, now that I think about it... Not that there's anything wrong with a table full of loud women...
Thirdly, the food is good, tending towards pub grub.
Fourthly, a good beer selection, but a weak bartending staff. Lots of turnover, I suspect...
Overall, a good place to meet up with friends after work, or to go watch the game together. I haven't been here late, so I can't tell you what the place is like after 11pm. It has the potential to be a wild place...

Party foul. They have decent food, but they irritated me enough to where I won't go back to this particular location.
They advertised a UFC fight for $5 a head and when we got there, they changed it to $10 a head because they had to limit the number of people that could come in. I guess a fight broke out during the last UFC fight and the cops busted them for having too many people. Anyways, they wound up turning people away at the door, including me, and I had friends already in the closed-off section of the bar. If you bait and switch people, at least do something, like change the entire bar to a UFC shindig instead of just turning people away.

So I stopped in here one day with my friend for lunch and I really don't think we will be going back. When we walked in, ALL the servers were sitting at the table closest to the door and practically just stared at us for about 20 seconds...I was half waiting for them to tell me they were closed! AWKWARRRD!! We were then seated and one of those sitting girls made her way over to take our drink order. We then browsed the menu, which is fairly large and finally made our decisions. I ordered the mini pot roast sandwiches with the bbq sauce and gravy on the side so I could taste which one I liked better, my friend ordered the popcorn chicken salad with ranch and we started with the chips with salsa and we added the queso dip for like $2 more. We got our appetizer and I was surprised to see the queso dip not come out in a hot little dish or anything, it came in something that looked more like a coffee mug! It was decent, though, but the salsa could use some work, it just tasted too smoky. Our food came shortly after and it was just as lacking. She really didn't like the ranch because it was made with mustard powder or something that tasted like mustard and she HATES mustard, I know that is her own preference but I thought I would add that in case any of you don't like mustard. And the "popcorn chicken" was more like monster chicken pieces...each one had to be cut not only in half but into like fourths to fit in her mouth!! And the lettuce was just of the bagged iceberg variety...boring! So needless to say...we will not be heading back there unless all the other restaurants around there seem to disappear all of a sudden and in that case there is always OCB!! =]
