I can't say this restaurant blew me away like other people seem to think because I am Korean. That being said, I thought the restaurant was decent.
I came here with a couple of my friends and ordered kimchi boochinggae, yukgaejang, ddukbukki, kimchi jigae, and jjangpohng. Everything was okay except the fact that it wasn't authentic Korean food. The only thing that I thought was close to being authentic was the dukkbukki, the Korean spicy rice cake; I thoroughly enjoyed that dish. -

Sort of yum...
It's hard to rate this place because I've had both good and bad experiences but the staff is sort of rude and the food isn't v. consistent, so I'm going to base this review more on the negatives I've experienced.
The one lady who works here is really snobby and if you're not a Korean international student, she's not the friendliest of people (meaning, she wants to be able to converse with you in Korean, NOT English... but hello lady, this is America!).
Anyway, the food here is just okay. It's on par with Koko's, but it's nothing compared to the Korean food in Flushing or Bergen County, NJ.
The service is relatively quick but the banchan is limited and boring and the ambiance is blah. -

We were visiting some friends in Ithaca, and had visited a few of the waterfalls, Buttermilk and Lucifer, and had a late lunch. We decided to go Korean and came here.
On a Saturday afternoon, there were a few tables occupied. The staff was not at all very welcoming (see Jason S' comments). They have a decent sized menu that included BBQ, tofu casseroles, noodle and rice dishes, and some Japanese fare. They even advertize soju and Korean beer on their walls. I wanted the OB, but they said they didn't get a shipment in, how odd!
So this is what we ordered: Seafood pancake, cold Bim Bim Bop, chang chang myeon, tofu casserole, and bbq beef. The seafood pancake was delicious. It was very crispy and had pieces of squid and shrimp. The sweetness of the dipping sauce helped balance the flavors of the pancake.
The Bim Bim Bop was good too. It was a big bowl of julienned vegetables, daikon, carrots, lettuce, mountain greens, etc., topped with a fried egg. Rice was served on the side. Mixing the vegetables with the rice and the spicy Korean fermented soybean sauce made the dish have a complex texture and flavor.
The chang chang myeon (I forgot how to spell it) is somewhat like the Chinese version, but with more of the darker/blacker sauce and little meat. It was only okay.
The tofu soup was somewhat disappointing. It did not have the typical flavor of most tofu casseroles I've had in the City or around Fort Lee. The soup base was thin and lacked the complexity of fermented soy bean paste. It tasted salty like to much bonito. And they forgot to give us a raw egg!
The BBQ beef tasted like it should, but I think we just ordered too much food to even enjoy it when it was hot.
For a place like this in a college town, I would give it 3.5 stars. As I am not from Ithaca, it is probably the only authentic Korean joint available. -

The food here is pretty damn delicious. I've had some korean friends that said it's relatively authentic (i have no clue to whether thats true or not)
Sometimes Im guilty of getting the same thing over and over if I realize i love it. And i LOVVVVEEE the dae jai bulgogi sp?. Basically, it's the pork bulgogi. The only downside is that whatever you are wearing is gonna smell like it marinated in the stuff. It comes out on a sizzling hot plate where you see the oil and juices bubbling (this is about the time my mouth starts watering). You can literally smell it coming from the time they bring out the kitchen and it leaves a smoke trail of steam on whatever path to the table.
Other stuff is pretty decent, but I honestly cant remember it that well. When I was a poor college student I thought it was slightly pricey, but as a professional now I think it was a pretty good deal.
Def do come here, just dress in something you dont mind getting smelly. -

In response to another reviewer on this site, Four Seasons has authentic Korean food fo' sho'. So authenticity isn't the problem here.
When I get homesick for the maternal unit's cooking while I'm on campus, I just trek here to get me some Korean grub. It's good for my Seoul. Reasonable prices, and the owner who thinks of me as her daughter-- what more could I ask?Listed in: The Big Red List

The problem with ethnic foods is that I can never know how authentic it is. So this review will not even try to touch upon that. All I can tell you is that Four Seasons serves up some good, hot (temperature and spice-wise) Asian food. The place is always packed. But one word of advice to the long-haired patrons: Don't wash your hair before you go, because you *know* you're gonna leave with the lingering odour of Korean BBQ clinging to your hair.
But I think that's a testament to how good this place is. You know they're grillin it up back there, fresh!
What else do I love about this place? The kim-chi fried rice. The excellent location. The kid who "works" there. In fact, he deserves his own paragraph.
If you go on weekends, you'll likely see this kid, who is probably not so much a kid anymore. He's probably the son of the owners. He is absolutely hilarious. He half helps out, and half plays his gameboy. He once waved a bloody styrofoam container in front of us, saying "mmmmmmmm blood!" in his best gory voice. That same trip, he also educated us on the effects of drug use ("My teacher says that if you smoke marijuana, when you're standing on the roof of a 10-story building, you feel like you're standing on the ground."). Another time, he was chatting on AIM on his laptop, and I really wanted to ask for his screenname, but I refrained.
My best memory of this place is when my friends and I had Easter brunch here one year (psh, yeah, obviously this is where you would go for such an occaision), then we went home and dyed easter eggs and had the greatest easter egg hunt in the history of my life. Never mind that it was the only easter egg hunt in which I've participiated.
Anyway.... Rambling aside, I love this place and it has some great memories attached to it. -

This place was terrible! Bad decor and bad lighting aside, the food was pretty bad. One of us had the bulgogi, which was oversweet and pretty fatty. I had the grilled mackerel, which was clearly frozen, dry and chewy. The kids shared the japchae, which was soupy and blah. The miso soup was empty--just miso and scallions. The one nice part was that they gave us shumai on the house for the girls. Overpriced too--had we paid for the 6 shumai, it would have been $6.95. Bulgogi was $18.95. Won't be back.

oh, four seasons. the site of the beginning of my best non-date ever. had dinner here with someone who possessed the puppy-est of puppy dog eyes. and he knew all the best items to order since it was his "home" turf (well, that's kinda like saying i'd know exactly what to order in a chinese restaurant which isn't exactly true, but koreans tend to have a little more pride, so anyway). not only is it endorsed by koreans, but i ate here quite a few times and think the food is on par with what can be found in SF. so the food's good.
but now onto the good stuff. to burn off those starchy calories after dinner, we decided to walk along the stone path of cascadilla gorge. my first time hiking any ithaca gorge! it was really pretty along the whole walk: the sounds of flowing water, birds singing, bright foliage, glistening slabs of stone. and sure, there were a few huge tricky steps along the way, but my friend was there to lend a hand.
and once we got to the bottom of the gorge, we found ourselves in the residential area of town, kind of lost. but we recognized n aurora st, so we decided to walk north along it. and then after a few blocks, we spotted the most amazing playground ever in the distance. tube slides and cradle bridges and mazes and wooden ships and swinging playground rings and a freakin ZIP LINE!! apparently, fall creek elementary got a brand new playground in 2000, designed by leathers & associates, known for their crazy custom playground designs. i have yet to see a playground that rivals the design at fall creek. even the towers of the main structure reflected the local architecture, like the clock tower and bridges.
we finally decided we had enough fun with the zip line, or maybe the setting sun decided that for us. either way, we continued along aurora for another block until i recognized my street. so we walked back uphill to my place. see, i said it was the best non-date ever. such is the power of four seasons. -

Eaten there at least a dozen times. The duk mandu guk is a favorite and rarely disappoints. If you like spicy food, their spicy soups are really good too. Love the banchan. Rarely manage to finish everything, especially with an appetizer.

Review from Gina K.
The food here is good, nothing to write home about. The main reason is that I am Korean and I've had better Korean food in restaurants before. However, for Ithaca, I guess this is a good place to come. It's usually pretty empty here so no wait for the most part.

I think this is the place best for Korean food in town!
The staff aren't super friendly, but the food is always delicious and comes out fairly quickly. -

Did not get the warmest of greeting as soon as i walked into the restaurant. The staff had no emotion or even a smile Did not get the best of vibes as soon as i walked in. Korean food here is relatively authenitc but nothing special. Compared to the price and the proportion of the food it was lil over priced for my taste. If you are really desperate and craving some korean food guess you can check this place out.

It could be very hard to grab a seat sometimes. Food was fairly authentic Korean.
