I've never stayed at a Four Seasons before but after two nights here over Christmas weekend I have nothing but good things to say. From the rooms to the service, everything was top notch and what I would expect from any high end hotel.

A few cool things about this location include:

-great spa and pool area for men and women
-cool asian inspired garden area featuring a pagoda, hammock, and green-house (if
you venture through the spa passed the pool)
-great lounge area with complimentary newspapers and magazines
-seafood buffet dinner on Friday nights
    -nice bar with pool tables
    -teen & kids lounge
-indoor pool and very well equipped fitness center
    -ONYX restaurant has great food

The room decor isn't exactly interesting but the beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms are spacious and well equipped. From the valet, to housekeeping, to the waitstaff..  all were very courteous and professional. As someone who was previously unfamiliar with Four Seasons, I am now a fan.

*The only thing that rubbed me the wrong way is having to pay for Wi-Fi. $10 gets you the 'normal speed' and only single-device connectivity. $15 gets you the 'best speed' and multi-device connectivity. Oh, and the parking lot is very close.. no need to pay $25 a night for valet*

We went here for New Years Eve dinner and entertainment. The minute we pulled up to valet parking, we began to experience the excellence of service that the staff provides. It gets better when we enter the hotel as the doorman, receptionist, concierge, wait staff and every other staff member is so eager to accommodate us.

In addition to the service, the food is excellent and the ambiance is casually elegant.  We had sooo many various dishes, that I won't even get into how good each was. Fresh food cooked perfectly with wonderful and sometimes unexpected ingredients, and the wine was superb!

Downside was that we had reservations and had to wait nearly 1/2 hour before we were seated, hence four stars.

    Happy 2012!

Had the opportunity to stay the FS Westlake Village last weekend for one night (first time stay at this location).  Service was excellent from the moment I checked in.  Check-in was quick and efficient, and I was even walked to the elevator.  The meringue lollypops (white chocolate covered with meringue) offered by the manager on duty were a nice little touch.

To no surprise, the room was comfortable and well appointed.  One major complaint, which was pointed out by another Yelper, is that the walls are indeed thin.  Luckily the kids ended up going to bed by midnight, and I was able to get a restful night's sleep.  Another annoyance was that WiFi wasn't included.  Also once you're connected, the speed of the internet is subpar.  This isn't isolated to this particular Four Seasons property.  I've stayed at several other locations, and this kind of seems like the trend across the board (exception - Ritz Carlton Chicago.......WiFi is included w/ room).

The hotel's location in Westlake Village is considered suburban.  Yes, the location could be better; however when I booked, I knew what I was getting.  I expected to be in Westlake Village and not Midtown nor Beverly Hills!

All-in-all, my one night stay marked another great Four Seasons experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to return.

I came here to watch the Clippers vs Lakers. It's 7:45, the bar is packed!  I had never seen it this full, and all 5 or 6 TVs were on tennis, or soccer. I wedged my way in the bar, waited a few moments for the bartender to catch up on making drinks, then asked her if it was possible to find the game on any of the televisions. I would like to point out that she was the only bartender, for a cocktail lounge with around 70 people.  This bartender was an absolute sweetheart, she did looked frazzled though (like she stuck her finger in a light socket) but her positive attitude in such a hectic environment gave her may brownie points. I watched her spill a drink, get two others mixed up and she shook my Chopin vodka in a shaker that previously has St Germain elderflower liquor in it.  I sat and watched my game, and stopped paying attention to the chaos, when I heard her say she was going on a break.  A man named Luis replaced her, the first thing he did was turn down the bright lights to set a different mood, I immediately noticed loud crowd got a bit softer, also he turned up the music slightly.  I felt this was a good time to mention the unpleasant taste of my cocktail, and he gladly replaced my drink.
I really appreciate all that this place has to offer, I am patient and observant when it comes to the service industry.  I like the teamwork, and good attitudes here at the Westlake Four Seasons. I will return.

A very clean hotel with beautiful decorations and great staff.  My room was spotless and no matter how much I tried to dirty it up every day, I would come back with the room spotless and my clothes that I have thrown around neatly folded.
We where doing an event here for my company and their in house services where excellent from food to the banquet departments to room support with the AV. If there was ever an issues I could just call 0 and it would be taken care of.  Excellent job and thank you.

This is a very gorgeous hotel. The grounds are immaculate, the rooms (although old- people-looking decorated) are ambiguous, and bathroom is divine. I have to say I probably like the bathroom more than I liked the rest of the room! I was only here for one night mooching off of my sister who was there on business but I was very pleased. There is free parking with validation (you must stay overnight) and the little hotel bar ended up serving a stiff drink with a surprisingly fun pool table room. The next morning as I was walking around I realized that every corner and crevice of this place is so fancy and really shows why this hotel chain has the reputation it does. I enjoyed the food in the main floor restaurant (great views), for the most part. The coffee was phenomenal, the flatware beautiful, buttt I have to say for $20, I have had much better eggs benedict elsewhere. My sister ate at one of the other Thai restaurants within the hotel and said she wasn't very impressed. One thing I have to complain about it this "car service" they offer. The hotel offers complimentary car service to anywhere within 3 miles of the hotel. In Westlake, on a Sunday, there was not that much to chose from, but we picked a Thai place (you guessed it) less than three miles away. The only thing that was EXTREMELY irritating was the lady that drove us acted like she had never been to Westlake before, although she worked in this town, and claimed she just dined at the exact restaurant we chose just the night before. She ended up driving around in circles and exclaiming "Its just so dark, I cant see!" I wasn't aware of the varying levels of "darkness" but it was really annoying and they should probably get another driver who can see when "its that dark."

This is the best place to sleep in Ventura County.  Rooms are clean and comfy and service is always excellent.  The restaurants (Onyx & the Hamptons) both serve pretty good food.  There is a small bar with some good bar food options as well.  The spa is so awesome.  It is the best spa I have been to in Southern California and the services are unbelievable.

Four Seasons will always have a special place in my heart.  I got married here last year and it was truly a dream come true.

From the beginning, the staff was so helpful in making sure our concerns were addressed and that there would be someone for me to always talk to.

Let's start with the food.  I still get people telling me how amazing their food was.  The appetizers were endless, the stations were bountiful, and every thing apparently tasted amazing.  The cake was beautiful and the flavor was spectacular (we opted for a lemon poppy cake with berry/ curd/ vanilla center) and they even made little cookies for the tables that were phenomenal.  We had them box up all the extra cookies so we can take home because they were that amazing.  The staff also set up a special room with food for our vendors.  The vendors said that their meals were also very delicious and the service was great towards them.

Next comes the alcohol.  Open bar make the world go round.  We opted to have the cocktail hour before the ceremony because we had unexpected rain.  Everyone was super happy and ready to dance after the ceremony :).

It rained right before our ceremony.  It was July.  When does it ever rain in California in July? And I am not talking a little drizzle.  It was pouring.  The Four Seasons are clearly pros and handled the situation like champs.  They already had a plan B in case such events like these happen but luckily it stopped and the staff did a crazy job at removing all the water from the chairs, walkway, gazebo, etc.  It was like it never rained and I won't ask how they did it.

The ballroom was beautiful.  We opted to use their company for lighting and it turned out gorgeous.  The grounds are also speechless. My photographers had no problems with creating so many images because there were so many different places to take photos.

The final best part about having your wedding at the Four Seasons...getting to stay in one of their luxurious hotel rooms!!  It was heaven.  The bed was so comfy and clean. The marble bathroom and large bathtub were  heavenly.  Also, they have a great Sunday brunch that we happily enjoyed as husband and wife as well as the best massages (which we also enjoyed the day after our wedding).  Overall, it was like a wedding on a cloud. It was hard to leave.

Overall, definitely not impressed. Stayed here for a night due to a wedding in the area. Staff is topnotch, rooms are roomy (weird, right?), but Mrs. L and I were still left with a 'meh' feeling.

A/C didn't seem to want to actually work in our room. It wasn't blazing hot, but as we continued to turn down the air, we continued to sweat. Strange.

The location kind of sucks. The Four Seasons is just off the freeway, basically in a business park across from Dole HQ. Again, strange. It seemed more like a business traveler's hotel than a true resort.

Basically, it was like the most expensive Embassy Suites I've ever stayed in.

Loved this hotel. A big (four) thumbs up for the Four Seasons from our end!

As my first visit to California, the Four Seasons really impressed me - I left with a genuine desire to come back for more.

We were here for a wedding and everything about the weekend just went smoothly.  Rooms are spacy and we had a nice view overlooking the waterfalls and outside garden in the back.  Service was prompt and professional, and we really felt that if we were to have any request at all it surely would be catered to.  Extra smiles for the L'Occitane products. = )

One caveat: I left my pearls on the nightstand and upon calling as soon as we checked out/drove away, they were conveniently "not found".  ::sad face:: Still did not ruin our trip, however, and I will forever look back fondly on our California weekend!

Such an amazing and beautiful hotel. Spent two nights here for a little honeymoon get-away with my husband and it was absolutely romantic. The indoor and outdoor pool and spa was so nice (minus the old ladies with their tans waddling around trying to swim). The indoor pool is designed mainly for kids, where they can watch a movie at a projector screen while swimming (pretty elegant huh?). The outdoor pool (max 3 ft deep) is designed for adults. The indoor gym was also nice. Though we did not utilize their gym, I can imagine a relaxing work out there.

The room was perfect. Super clean! Just checking in the room, the flat-screen TV greeted us! The whole room smelled like flowers. The bathroom had 3 TV's, an enormous bath tub (exaggerating, a little), nicely tiled showers, and a separate toilet room with a built-in phone for room service. In essence, you can poop and order room service at the same time.

There's just something about this hotel that stands out. Maybe, it was their acres of serene gardens. Dining in this hotel was also top-notch. How can dining near waterfalls go wrong?

If you stay here, walk through their Pagoda. It is so nice.

There's just nothing bad I can say about this place.

Best Bathrooms Ever!  Large soaking tubs!  L'occitane bath products!

The hotel is beautiful (not really my style of beautiful, but lovely none the less). It feels very 'Presidential" as my daughter pointed out. The Four Seasons has a very professional nice staff. Every employee we had contact with was pleasant. Overall a very pleasant hotel. Soaking in the large tub and watching a Royal Wedding recap on the bathroom television was such a treat!  The classic decor in our room made watching The Royals all the more fun.

Nice grounds but disappointing in service. Rented a cabana that was supposed to be stocked with snacks, drinks and at least a server to serve us. We were in the Cabana for over an hour and 15 minutes before I had to flag someone down asked about our snacks and water.

Had to call front desk to come up and fix our TV that volume wouldn't work. DVD player wasn't hooked up correctly so we had to fix it for it to work.

Had an issue using gift certificates and spoke to two employees giving opportunities to accommodate us or make the situation better but neither employee took the opportunity to do so. Therefore, we left with a less than satisfied feeling.

Beautiful but needs some improvement for sure.

One of most beautiful Four Seasons properties in Southern California!  Check out the Orchid Greenhouse and walk the grounds for some super nature beauty.

A couple of girlfriends and I stayed here a couple of weekends ago.  We hung out in the bar for a bit and enjoyed the ambiance - it looks like an old library with great wood details and a cozy feeling to it.  Rumor has it all the Westlake locals hang out here since there isn't much else to do in the area.

On a previous visit, we rented a private cabana with a plunge pool, which was AWESOME!  Super private, the attendants were super helpful and delivered whatever we needed, with the push of a button from the complimentary phone in the cabana.

We ordered room service and had great food (scones for breakfast; a club sandwich and fries for dinner) and service from the staff.

One little ding...the person working the overnight desk seemed very busy and did not handle herself  in the typical FS manner.  It was not a big deal, but part of the appeal of staying at Four Seasons hotels is that everything is a cut above the rest.  Some people may complain about this.

The rates at this hotel are slightly less than the Beverly Hills and Los Angeles hotels, so you may want to travel a little further north for a nice stay.  Also, if you self-park, then you get free overnight parking.

Love this hotel and I look forward to many stays!!

***This is only about the High Tea that is served in the Lobby***
For a special birthday gathering with the girls, my cousin chose this lovely hotel for "something new" with the girls. She has made it a mission to try different hotels for their "High Tea" and well, this was #1.

I must say first off that the property is befitting that of a Four Seasons and is just lovely. Every detail has been considered. Although, I thought it was odd that it was right off the freeway.

We were seated at a lovely large round table in front of floor to ceiling windows that faced their massive waterfall. It was pretty relaxing although it was too cold outside to enjoy it close up.

Let me just say that the Queen herself might not completely agree that this was the best high tea around, but for us common folk it was quite good. I have to say that the food was far better than the tea. There were many choices but I can collectively say that my pet peeve was that the tea was not hot, warm at best, each time it was served. I didnt really like that. That is my only negative comment.

Their scones were my favorite, the curry chicken tea sandwich was yummy and the lemon curd was out of this world. The staff also knew a lot about the teas and took very good care of us. It took them a very long time to get us the check but honestly we were so happy and relaxed, we didnt care much.

All in all, I would say for $35 per person was well worth it and I would recommend it to others. Perfect for any girly gathering.

I spent two nights there for my birthday and all the staff were extremely helpful  and made my stay very special. My friends ordered a cake and a surprise breakfast for me and the hotel took care of everything. I even got a birthday cake from Four Seasons at a restaurant we were having dinner at.
Everything, to the smallest detail was of a very good quality. I highly recommend it for a weekend getaway and some spa treatments.

    Beware-Not Dog Friendly.
It is a beautiful hotel...inside, and usually pretty quiet because it is usually empty, but if you're used to The Four Season's accomodating pet policy, this is not the place to stay.

We've stayed there in the past whenever we've had work done on our house, under their old pet policy, and had the doorman walk our dogs.

After the Malibu fires, we spent three very pleasant weeks in a suite there, and a week every year since, as its a nice close get away when family wants to stay and we need extra beds.

The service is not up to the normal Four Seasons standards, and I think that is because it is hard to be on top of your game when there are no customers, but its OK for the area.

Also, as long as you negotiate a discounted rate, you'll be pretty happy with the overall quality for the price, but the standard of service is way below what their rack rate would deserve.

However, when we went to stay there this time for a three week stay, we learned that their new dog policy only welcomes pets that are 15lb and under. If you need to spend the money for a suite, need to stay a while, and want to bring a real dog- look elsewhere. And, if it is going to irritate you to see people carrying their mini-dogs everywhere, while yours have to stay in a kennel, stay elsewhere!

Ok so we stayed in a hotel fifteen minutes from our house. When you have a bunch of kids and a gift certificate...you get a sitter and have what those nifty-bright marketing folks call a stay-cation...and stay we did.

Hubs made the reservation so I can not speak for the service there, but everything beyond check out was a true delight. We got a one-up from the standard room under a 'bed and breakfast' package where basically you pay a little extra and are allotted about $60 bucks in food credit for breakfast in the morning (room service or dining room).

I guess hubs told the lady it was our anniversary (it was) because on a table next to the front door of the room, I found an assortment of delicious chocolate covered strawberries and a nice card signed by the REAL HOTEL MANAGER HERSELF!

The room was lovely. Very well decorated in a French Country style. Beautiful windows looking out to the hills beyond. We could see the street still, but whatever. Westlake/Thousand Oaks is pretty no matter.

Bathroom was gorgeous with a huge soaking tub, a separate shower and L'Occitane bath products. score!

We also had spa access, and made our way down there before dinner to soak, steam and shower. Nice spa. Not too crowded at that time, either.

The hotel grounds are gorgeous. Very lush and expansive. The adult pool (there are two, one indoor for children and one for 18+) was very pretty. Just really wasn't warm enough to swim. You can get a private cabana, pretty neat.

Breakfast in the morning was ok. I wasn't too crazy about my eggs or sausage, but the croissant and coffee were perfect.

We would definitely return, and might even consider bringing our kids. There is a teen activity room and other fun stuff for the younger set...

    Good job four seasons!

Wonderful, but not 5 stars.  Service was hit or miss....either excellent or blah.  I've stayed in other 5 star places and this one seemed to fall just a little short.

    THE GOOD
We booked a one bedroom deluxe suite for a girls weekend.  Beautiful suite, roomy and very nicely maintained.  L'Occitane products in the room and comfy comfy beds.  Reservations, front desk and bellmen were polite and extremely helpful.  Pool staff was friendly and prompt.  Food and cocktails at poolside were delicious.  Pool is kid free...which was a bonus since we were all looking for a quiet weekend.

    THE BAD
This hotel is beautiful.  High end finishes and beautiful decor.  Yet, something seemed amiss and didn't quite feel 5 star.  Service?  Possibly.  We used our pullout couch and requested bedding.  Room service sent up 2 flat sheets, no pillow cases and no blankets (claimed it was "all they had").  For $1,000/night...that is unacceptable.  Also...had breakfast on the main level which was NOT crowded.  Verrry slow service and food took forever to come out - had to chase down a server just to get ketchup.  Waited about 20 minutes for our bill.  If I'm paying $20 for eggs and toast, I want to feel waited on!  :(

    OVERALL
Lovely weekend but not sure if the price is right for another stay.

If you are looking for a beautiful hotel to get married at in the greater Los Angeles area, look no further. The Four Seasons wedding facilities are breathtaking, your wedding will be a fantastic event. Plus every single hotel representative you encounter as you enter delivers 5 star service with a smile and genuine attitude. The ballroom on site for an indoor reception is the prettiest, cleanest, brightest ballroom in the valley.

Jocelyn, in special events & catering is super amazing. She's an absolute pleasure to work with and delivers a quality of service that makes you happy to be around her. You can tell she's a veteran in the industry.

My only complaint: while walking down the hallways of the property, I can't help think that there are one too many Chinese art decorative pieces on display. But, this complaint is not worth taking a star off b/c regardless.. the property is beautiful, well maintained, and a must see if you are considering an indoor wedding. For those considering a weekday wedding.. they have an affordable weekday special package.

They also have a delicious nut assortment and juice & water station by the front desk for guests to enjoy.

Good luxury 5 star hotel. The outside looks like a manufactured building but the inside is very plush. Service was good and friendly. Love the tiny muffins you get in the morning in the lobby.

The room was spacious, though not quite sure what the point of the second room is with the premier suite. It has 1 small light, a couch, a chair and that was it. Is it the meditation room? I really like the gym, it had more machines than my gym back home. Also liked that they had complimentary gatorade. Ah, that reminds me. Had a run-in with a guy who apparently feels entitled and believes that he does not need to follow gym etiquette 101. You don't block a machine with your stuff lying around while you take a nice break and leave for 20 mts. Annoying, anyways, there are jerks everywhere.

Good solid hotel. Did not get a chance to try the spa.  I like the Santa Monica Fairmont better in the LA area, sorry.

Every hotel should be the Four Seasons.  The service level is phenomenal here.  The staff really REALLY goes out of their way to serve you.

As a hotel guest, you have full access to the spa (fabulous--wet and dry sauna, whirlpool, gender segregated quiet areas, full service shower facilities, tranquility room for women), plus the pool AND classes that they offer daily (it's more the style of an all inclusive).

They also have great daily food specials, which are surprisingly affordable -- watch out or you'll end up spending $120 on happy hour for 3 ppl like I did.

The beds are extremely comfortable, linens are wonderful, and cleanliness is impeccable.

Ask for a room NOT facing the highway tho, if you are a light sleeper, b/c I woke up to the noise the first morning (it's v faint tho, most ppl probably won't notice).

Also, there seems to be some sort of conference going on where it's all people in their early 30s who look CA fabulous but have mouths more suited for Jersey Shore.  Really guys?  Get some class.  But that's not the hotels fault.

Full business center w/ free printing available, gym is HUGE (10 ellypticals, 10 treadmills, weights, etc); water, fruit, little muffins and great coffee in the morning.  Also, if you put your shoes in a bag on the handle of your door by 1 am, they will clean them for you and return them by 7 am the next morning.  This is serious service.

I love it here.  Will definitely stay here again when back!

    Stellar, stellar, stellar.

As is befitting any Four Season, this location is absolutely top notch, all the way. The most impeccable customer service you could ever imagine. Everything is their "pleasure" and they go so far beyond what you'd expect.

Beautiful rooms, beautiful grounds, beautiful everything. The food is spectacular and specializes in healthy fare that is really, truly, delicious. The owner of this Four Seasons is a health-aficionado, and he passes this on to his guests in a big way.

This is a such a hidden gem. I never, ever want to leave when I'm there. You could literally just stay in your room and have the most outstanding vacation. It makes everyday life so dismal - you just do not want to leave.

    The. Best.

a total let down!  I planned a nice weekend getaway including Spa and all the plush treatments.  The Spa was amazing, the room was spectacular.  housekeeping and valet guys, bell hops everyone was great!

BUT!!!  the front desk staff need an attitude adjustment. Single handed the front desk girl who shall remain nameless tarnished the reputation of four seasons for me and all the hard work everyone else is doing at this magnificent property

Stayed the night at this same location a few years back.  Cool bar area with a pool table, fancier version of a British pub feel.  Room service breakfast was great- make sure to order the applewood smoked bacon.

Had lunch here more recently- ordered the veg frittata and strawberry smoothie.  Both were fantastic choices.  Vegetables were fresh and crisp, smoothie was light and refreshing.  Staff was incredibly accomodating.

Blogged a bit more about it here:

Beautiful......you can forget you're in the middle of suburbia.  :)  I was there for a conference and everything was decent. Parking was a bit odd, but other than that, all is good.

My stepmom, was staying at this property while attending a business conference on Monday - Wednesday, so Deb & I took the opportunity to get together for dinner, drinks and conversation.

I'd agree with other reviewers that it is a beautiful property, but I'm not impressed by all the surrounding buildings that give it a business park-feel. Once inside, though, it was apparent that this is one of the nicer places that I've visited.

    Fine Dining at Hampton's

Adult beverages: Mojitos, Vodka martinis, Champagne Cocktails, Cosmopolitan, plus a bottle of Ken Brown 2005 S.B. County Pinot Noir.

Dinner for three: Veal Chop, Halibut and Beef 100 [1].

Desserts:  Vanilla Creme Brule with berries and Happy Birthday cake [2].

    Spending the night:  Priceless! [3]

[1]  The Beef 100 is a prime cut filet mignon & braised short ribs.
[2]  Not my birthday, I'm an August baby.
[3]  Considering how much we drank, I needed to sleep for a few hours.

It was pretty difficult to check out of the hotel... i was really thinking of boarding up the doors and just living there until they kicked my door down...

Beds are super comfy. Bathrooms are huge. The spa area is really nice. - it's an excellent hotel - as expected.

    You won't be disappointed.

I went back to the hair salon and tried Paula, whom, I just adored. She asked me to describe my self in one word and what color would I be if I were a color. Talk about being put on the spot! Anyway, after processing my answer she proceeded to give me a very cute cut. My boys got their cut with her, also. After, we went to lunch in the restaurant, which had very good salads and sandwiches, as well as your typical kids' menu, crayons, coloring paper, etc.

Okay, so a few week later and the cut is alright, not that great fo rmy hair type. Don't think I'll be going back. I noticed stylists who are younger than me tend to give me more matronly hairstyles which I loathe! I will continue my quest for the one who gets "it".....

Now that the wedding is over, and we are back from our honeymoon, I finally have time to dedicate myself to Yelp-ing once again. My husband and I had an amazing wedding reception at the Four Seasons Westlake Village.

Although there were everal things that didn't go as perfect as they could have, staff at the hotel rectified the situation very promptly when it was brought to their attention (feel free to email me and I can elaborate further).

The catering department did a great job coordinating and organizing the event for us. They worked with my friend and wedding reception coordinator very well (although I wish they would have been able to provide more manpower the day of the reception to help set up as there was not a lot of time.)

Our meal was delicious...definitely a five star...salad (delish salad with pistachio and apples), appetizer, entrees (hotel was very accomodating with special diet meals i.e., dairy-free, gluten-free, vegetarian), and of course, our wedding cake (both flavors - chocolate with hazelnut croquant and lemon cake with vanilla custard and fresh strawberries!!)

The service, was probably a four star, which is below expectations but still very acceptable.

Overall, we loved planning our special event here and had a good  experience overall.

Plug: My florist, Marion Curson, did a great job decorating our event room with beautiful strands of hanging roses, and centerpieces with peonies, hydrangeas, and dalias. The room just looked gorgeous!

We've been to Hampton's on a Friday for the Seafood Buffet, and in word it's "freak'n awesome" - wait that's two.  We went for our anniversary dinner, and I made it a point to have a small taste of everything they offered, which mind you was no small feat as they offer so many things to have.  I want to meet the person who goes to this Friday Extravaganza and says it's just so-so, and then bonk them in the head like a V8 commercial.

Heads up!  Become a friend with the Four Seasons Westlake on Facebook and they offer deals - mainly 50% if you show up, that day, but heck if you were going to go out anyway it is a total score!  Normally the dinner will set you back $50, but you are in for a treat, so a splurge here is a good thing (get that vision of Martha out of your head!).

We also had a comfy and romantic drink in the bar by the fireplace.  Perfect.

Want to try Onyx, it looks great!

We have yet to stay here overnight, and can't seem to justify it as we live less than a mile away, but I'd love to do it one day.  I love this place.

This may well be the best hotel I have ever stayed at.

The interior is gorgeous -- lined with marble floors and mahogany accents and beautiful antiques.  The walls are a soft yellow which give the place a light, sunny air and add to the overall warmth of the place.

I was upgraded to a Superior One Bedroom Suite which was huge at about 865 sq ft ,according to their website.  It had a great view of the hotel's waterfall and the mountains beyond.  Although I could see the 101 I could not hear it.  The room had electronically controlled drapes which was a first for me. The suite had a spacious entry way and a gigantic half bath.  The living room had a large bar/cabinet, formal desk, original artwork, a beautiful rug, comfy sofa(bed), a recliner and a large flat-screen with HD & DVD.

The bedroom was enormous, likely 18'x18' with the standard yummy Four Seasons king sized bed, another flat-screen with HD & DVD, electronic drapes, iHome and a very large bathroom with a double vanity, soaking tub, separate shower with dual shower heads and a separate water closet.

During my stay, I hurt my back while working out.   Later that night, I called down to the front desk to see if they had an ice pack.  Within three minutes, there was a knock at my door by a man who was from their "Emergency Response Team."  I wasn't that bad off but they were very concerned and got me a large bag of ice for me to use.  Amazing service.

The room service food was typically above standard Four Seasons style and their lobby lounge to have breakfast in was awesome.

The grounds are gorgeous.  It houses the largest spa/fitness facilities of all of the Four Seasons hotels and has both indoor and outdoor (adults only) pools.  Not a fan of indoor pools, the one here is magnificent with its enormous vaulted glass ceiling and the lack of chlorine smell.  The gym is huge and the best I have seen at any hotel.

I'd stay here again in less than a heartbeat.

**This review is for the hotel's restaurant Hampton's**

So while this is technically in Westlake Village, I think Hampton's might just be one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles. The food and service are pretty impeccable-- the staff is so attentive it's almost ridiculous. I tried the lobster, ahi tuna, and the sea bass, and everything was excellent-- the cooking is super light (since there's a wellness spa at the hotel they have a lighter and heavier menu). But I think my favorite part of the meal was dessert. We got a coffee creme brulee, which is amazing. And our other dessert was a refined take on the carrot cake-- a super light cream cheese napoleon with a scoop of carrot sorbet on the side. The carrot sorbet blew my mind! I would drive out to Westlake Village again just to get some more!

This is the ONLY hotel my family will stays when we're at west side of LA.  Although Westlake is somewhat of a drive from LA if you want the best service and luxury this place is it. Our secret hangout.... my kids loves it here, indoor pool and spa use.

Don't be surprised if you run across famous celebrities here, many celebrities will retreat here for the weekend.  Last celebrity run in was Teri Hatcher from Desperate Housewives who was dining next to us.

Just had an event here for the Breast Cancer research. The outside of the hotel looks like a university.. when you arrive you think, are you being drop off at a Campus or are you going to a 5 star hotel?? hmm??
That confusion changes all when you step into the lobby, Now you can feel how classy and sophisticated the place is. Walking in the lobby, there is a mini help yourself drink counter with lemonade, arnold palmer or ice tea. Went to their restooms and at the sink counter they have these heavy duty towlettes for you and l'occitane lotion.

Now I have to come back for the best part, the stay at the rooms ;-)

Of course it's five stars, it's the Four Seasons.  I spent a weekend here with my fiance recently.  We told the front desk we were celebrating our engagement and they set us up in a room with complimentary champagne and chocolates, which definitely set the tone for a romantic getaway.

The outdoor pool and grounds are lovely and relaxing, the indoor pool was great for lap swimming and the fiance pronounced the gym excellent (and informed me that we need to have chilled hand towels spiked with eucalyptus essential oils in our bathroom at home from now on).

We stayed in the cheapest room, which was still spacious, comfortable and featured the Greatest Bathroom Of All Time.  There was a huuuuge soaking tub (big enough for two large adults), a separate shower and W.C., a flat screen TV and L'Occitane products.  I was in heaven.

Overall, just great.  If anyone wants to get out of the city without totally breaking the bank, spend a couple nights here.  It's close but feels a million miles away -- just let the staff treat you like a deity and enjoy yourself.

It's only appropriate that I review the monstrosity of a Hotel across the drive way from me.

Our company party was here before the hotel opened to the public (perks of both companies being owned by the same man).  The food was really delicious and the ambiance is ridiculously nice.

It was an all you can eat finger food heaven with dim sum, sushi, dessert, and fresh cut meats and cheeses.  The wine poured was divine....yes, divine!

We took a tour of the facility, at the live kitchen, the pool hall, the Sequoya trees, the water falls, the television studio, the art gallery, it's absolutely amazing.

If one can afford it, I highly recommend dining there, at Onyx or the Hampton's, staying there, spa treatments, health screening, cooking classes, etc...

Celebrity clientele, all I've heard of is Tiger Woods and Heather Locklear.

My BF and I went to this hotel for a friend's wedding and a weekend getaway at the same time. The wedding was beautiful! They did a terrific job!  I like the grand water fall as a backdrop for the wedding.  It does remind me of Vegas style hotel.  I noticed the staff at the banquet was well trained.  I had fish for dinner which was excellent.  However, the food at the reception was not good.  The chicken nuggets were too dry.

We had a deluxe room which was nice except for the view of the freeway.  The room was pretty roomy but not big. The bathroom was very nice! Big and Beautiful with a tv inside the bathroom.   We also had breakfast there.  The menu was really small and the food was good but not top.

The spa has cabanas with TVs. We had lunch out by the pool. We ordered the whole wheat turkey wrap and the Cobb Salad. The turkey wrap was better than the salad. My BF ordered a Bloody Mary which was $16.  We also had to hunt people down to get service.

Compared to hotels in Asia or other four seasons I have stayed at, the overall service (except the banquet staff) at this hotel was ok.  Overall, it was very relaxing and nice, however,  I would not go out of my way to stay there.

I'm a Four Seasons fan and have stayed at many all over the world. This one right here in Westlake Village is just the right amount of awesome. If we can't get away for our anniversary or other romantic evenings for more than a night, this local Four Seasons does the trick. They happily honor every request and you never need to leave the room, or those amazing showers, tubs and the entire bathroom in general, if that's your thing. If you do venture from the room, the spa, the pool, even the restaurant is just about perfect.
