There is something to be said about expectations. When you walk into a hotel, a restaurant, or any other service-related business you expect a certain level of attention. Unfortunately, that expectation may cause an otherwise nice experience to feel sub-par. Other times, you may walk in with no expectations at all and be truly surprise. When it comes to the Four Seasons, our expectations could not have been higher. And still, we loved everything about our evening here. The property is well acquainted and the service is beyond accommodating. From The Fountain Restaurant to the Swann Lounge, the Four Seasons provides numerous ways to enjoy yourself.
Be sure to consider the Fours Seasons during your next special occasion. -

Here's a hotel that offers a consistently good stay, great service and a feeling of warmth that makes you want to continue to return each visit.
I've now stayed at the Ritz, Palomar, Sofitel, Westin, Marriott, Hilton Garden Inn and Doubletree and this is my favorite in Philly.
They've always delivered award winning service. From the valets to the front desk to the housekeepers. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and elegantly appointed.
The beds are super comfortable, the linens and pillows have always been clean.
Only negative I've ever encountered in my entire time staying at this hotel has been the lack of a laundry bag in a closet...so if that's the biggest problem, it should be a good stay.
I like their quick valets, and that they don't have the annoying low flow filters on the faucet or the shower head.
Can't wait to return. -

I travel to Philly quite often for business and usually stay in various hotels in the historic district. Due to a customer move to the downtown area, staying in the historic district just is not convenient, so I decided to give the Four Seasons a try. My excellent experience began the second I walked through the door. Every staff member I encountered, from the concierge to the fitness room attendants were polite and very professional.
My room was HUGE and was immaculate. The bathroom was so large it had a distinct echo. I dined at both restaurants during my stay and both were top notch with great food and even better service. Definitely the nicest 'hotel' eateries I've ever patronized. And the hotel itself is located in an extremely accessible area of Philadelphia which makes it very easy to walk almost anywhere.
All in all, this was one of my most memorable stays in Philly and the Four Seasons had a lot to do with that. Yes, it is expensive. It's a Four Seasons after all. But as the old saying goes, 'you pay for what you get'. And at the Four Seasons, you get quite a bit. -

But I loved the 80's!!some of my best ties were bought then(they are back in style) and would be right at home in this joint. Whew! For a Four Seasons ? ? Explains the 335/ night bargain rate. Doesn't explain the wretched bar food nor the50$ breakfast 2 eggs with salad.good service ; excellent concierge. I.M. Pei timeless architecture this a'int.Laura Ashley with taste((on drugs)). Unbelievable charge for room wifi.

Just stumbled into something fun at the Four Seasons tonite. Got done a business meeting there and was ready to leave when I saw they created a pretty cool watering hole just beyond the Front Door. Local brews only - $5 a bottle. Tonite it was all "Yards". The area is up a couple steps from the entrance so you see all the comings and goings of people in the hotel. A voyeur's dream. I think the waitress said this is a Monday - Thursday thing, 5 - 7 pm. For me, it''ll be a great spot for a quick one after work.

Although I haven't stayed at this hotel, I did experience the five star service the Four Seasons is known for during my two visits to the With Love Beer Garden this week. The garden was prepped and lovely both times, and every single employee I encountered was helpful and polite.
The guys working the food area were great, and it was fun chatting with them while waiting for my kielbasa sandwich. Said sammie contained three nice slices of meat on a perfect little roll, topped with sauteed onions and spicy mustard. It was a delicious treat and a steal for only $5.50. Later, I tried the grilled shrimp taco with pickled cabbage, guacamole and sour cream and it was a very close second to the kielbasa.
I'm very grateful for the opportunity to hang at the posh courtyard, while chatting up interesting hotel guests who were all too happy to walk out the door and into a Philly Beer Week event. I only hope the hotel will consider doing more events like this throughout the summer.Listed in: Get Dolled Up!

I can really only comment on the beer week beer garden, and it is awesome. The grassy oasis with the waterfall wall is a delightful spot for a post work drink. I attended when Dock Street was the featured brewery, and had the Royal Bohemian Pilsner and the Pimp My Rye. There were also some apps, but they were a little pricey. I spent $2 on a soft pretzel which came with really good spicy mustard and was in the shape of a D or an S (clever).
Also, the bathrooms here are great. -

Typical Four Seasons, which is to say first class in almost every regard. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. The people were exceptionally friendly and accomodating. It had plenty of amenities. I see absolutely no reason to stay anywhere else.

I really enjoyed all the personnel that helped my family through the week. From the concierges to the doormen and the driver, Baba Ba, everyone was outstanding. The treatment we received was first class, Four Seasons all the way and I would recommend this hotel on that alone.
The building is located in a very walkable part of town and, if you really want to, you can walk all the way down to Penn's Landing which is 18 blocks away. Getting around, we used Philadelphia's great Phlash system which costs two bucks a shot or a 10 dollar a day family pass. It runs the main corridor from the Zoo to Penn's Landing. The reason I mention it is because there is a stop just outside the Four Seasons. My wife and two sons had no issues going back and forth for dinner overnight with no hassles.
The rooms could use an update. We had an executive suite which had two queens and a pull out couch. The pull out couch was in the living room and the two queens in the bedroom. The beds need to be replaced. I got two good nights of sleep because I could feel the middle bar that runs up under the mattress top. If I were a business traveler, I would have had a problem with it but it was a family vacation so I just dealt. They have an indoor pool in the basement that just seems weird. Maybe being from the south clouds my judgement, but an indoor pool isn't something that I'm into and the weather was HOT while we were there. Everything just seems a little late '90s dated. Or maybe late 80s.
My two biggest gripes, my wife had a couple of nights where housekeeping got turned around and didn't set up the pull out. It drove her nutz but wasn't that big a deal, however, I had to deal with it so...and last but not least, the toilets....theres a regular toilet and a bidet. Both are roughly two feet off the ground and the toilet could almost be a backstop for the bathroom door. Two feet though, maybe. It was just weird.
The personnel justified the outlay of cash and I would stay here again with no problems or qualms about it. Great group of people in a great part of town. I would like to see some updates, but those are my only issues. -

We celebrated the Royal Wedding with a High Tea in the Swan Lounge and they thought of everything! From the royal guards to open doors, exquisite high tea (they even had a special gluten free one for me), awesome real bellini's and British Cadbury chocolate for everyone on their way out.
Every mouthful was delicious and the atmosphere is divine. We stayed late to enjoy the bar menu and made our way through their exquisite pomme frites and truly divine dipping sauce, a seafood platter, the meat charcutterie plate and even stayed for the chocolate souffle - I highly recommend absolutely everything we enjoyed! The team at the Four Seasons knows how to present and deliver delicious food. -

"Back by Popular Demand" as they say...(though I've never heard of it before in my life)...the "With Love Beer Garden" is probably the best way in the City to spend a Thursday after-work happy hour. It's just a nice relaxing atmosphere, and the people there are totally chilled-out. The not-so-local "local" Victory Summer Ale has been going down smooth as chocolate milk, and I'll surely miss this delicious brew when it's out of season. (Hello Oktoberfest!) I'll head back next Thursday to finish it off for the summer, but I'll definitely be looking forward to it again next year. Good times.

I might be a hotel snob. I said "might", it's not confirmed.
As Four Seasons hotels go, I am not impressed with this one. I'd give it 3 stars if I were merely rating it against other Four Seasons. As a hotel in Philly goes, I'm pretty sure it's a nice one, and above average. Hence the 4 stars.
The rooms and lobby need a serious renovation. Red drapes? No handheld shower head? Only 1 chair in the suite? I was actually disappointed in the decor and appointments of the room and the lobby. This is clearly an older Four Seasons. It's a big hotel too, and only 8 floors, so it might be a half a block walk from the elevator to your room.
As always, the concierge is delightfully out of touch with the local spots. When I ask for somewhere to get "a burger, at a local pub kinda place" do not send me to a cafe with $25 burgers topped with gruyere.
The food was delicious. The fitness center was nice.
It's a luxury hotel for Philadelphia, but not a terrific Four Seasons.Listed in: A Nerd's Guide to Philly

I stayed here recently for a business conference for a few days. Our first night in we had a dinner and meeting at the hotel itself. All of the staff were extremely friendly. My room was beautiful and overlooked an internal court yard complete with water feature. It was convenient to the city, food was great and I can't speak highly enough about the service.

All four stars for the staff!
From the front desk, to the doorman, to the Swann staff. Some of the best hotel staff I've ever had the pleasure of joking with, and they fulfilled each and every one of my requests with pleasure!

Stayed here for my sister's graduation. It's the Four Seasons, so yes, it's lovely. Great service and high prices, as one would expect. The room could've used a little updating -- the carpet was worn with a cigarette burn in one spot -- but was comfortable and immaculately clean. As long as I'm not paying, a great option for a place to stay in Philly.

Mama's Day came a few days early for me this year, and you'll get no complaints from me, 'cause this girl was treated to the most awesome spa experience ever. Admittedly, I felt a little out of place as I walked into the super-swank Four Seasons, but once I got over the whole "ohh" and "ahh" factor and made my way down to the first floor spa area, I was stoked for some major relaxation.
The staff at the front desk were polite and friendly and immediately took me back to the dressing area, which is massive and nicer than most apartments in Philly. As a spa guest, you'll also have gym and pool privileges (sorry, no skinny dipping allowed, so make sure to bring your suit) and then you get to ensconce yourself in the plushest robes that money can buy. I was feelin' it already.
But then it was treatment time. I received the Serenity Soy Milk body treatment, courtesy of Heather, the amazing massage therapist- here's the official scoop from the website:
Soothing Soy Milk is featured in this luxurious 80-minute experience. Enjoy a serene 50-minute Soy Milk Massage, slipping into a peaceful state, relaxing the body and soul. Then indulge in a 30-minute Soy Milk Body Scrub, softening and exfoliating the skin while refreshing the body with mineral rich Soy Protein. Conclude the natural experience with an array of delicious organic soy snacks and refreshments.
I think I was so blissed out that I floated off the table to sit poolside, where I sipped cucumber-infused water and ate chocolate covered soynuts and trailmix. Yes, it's pricey, and yes, it's fancy, but trust me - it is worth every penny because you will be flying high for days to come. The treatments change seasonally, so get this one while you can - but you better believe I'll be saving my pennies and coming back in a few months to see what else they've added to the menu. What's the next major holiday that may require someone to give me a gift certificate here? Yelp Community Manager Day, perhaps? :) -

4.5 Stars
Came here for my good friend's wedding held at the four seasons. The hotel is pretty nice as you would expect from a four seasons. Having stayed here one night and across the street at the embassy suites for a night, the difference is striking. The interior is very inviting and well decorated. Courtyard is beautiful and the staff is very accomodating and courteous.
When you stay here you feel like royalty. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in a suite with my fellow groomsmen. The only reason i'll say 4.5 stars is because the hotel seems sorta old. I feel they could renovate it sometime soon. Rooms were nice but I felt like it could have been a little nicer for the price.
If you can afford to stay here you'll be happy. If you want to save some green you can stay right across the street though (embassy suites). -

I would pass on this property if you could......
The valet is slow at best... Nearly 15 minutes wait for a car, even when calling down in advance...
I had received a $50 discount for there 10th anniversary, and $20 was eaten up in fees for sending up the bottle of wine..
Amy, the customer service manager is rude at best. it turns out she charged my card for nearly a thousand dollars, and some part of it was declined. I then paid the bill in full in cash and found out that her charges were actually approved. Upon speaking to her she assured me that was not the case and to pay cash.
In the end I had to pay 1000 in cash for services I actually used, but had to have a $1000 in credit on hold because my credit company actually approved those funds to Four Seasons.
Like I said, I complained to them, and they were unable to accommodate my request or to be honest. In my book that's reason enough to avoid. -

This Four Seasons definitely lives up to the hotel's reputation. The lobby is gorgeous and the rooms are nice too. It is definitely a luxury hotel by every standard.
Food at Swann Lounge is really good, a little pricey, but thats to be expected and its really worth it. Even the nut/cracker mixes they give you to start with are delicious.
I love staying here because it is so close to the Amtrak station, only about a $6 taxi ride. And everyone who works there is so friendly, it is always a very good experience.Listed in: Marriotts and Hiltons and…

Excellent. Great service, location is convenient, and conditions are new. Rooms are perfect.( Large bathrooms alwats a plus!) However, I've stayed at some of the best Resorts and thought it was a bit over-priced. Restaurant downstairs was delicious! Gift shops could be better.
***Not to mention, I forgot $1,000 in the room. I called about 8 hrs later and the room service turned it into security! How often would that happen anywhere else?*** -

I stopped by the Four Seasons for drinks and dinner last week while visiting Philadelphia. I didn't bring fancy clothes for the Fountain restaurant, so enjoyed a couple of martinis and crab cake sliders in the lounge while waiting for a table at the cafe. Service was excellent, drinks were excellent. I wasn't blown away by my dinner, but it was certainly the best meal I had in the Logan Square area.
If you're staying in one of the nearby hotels and not impressed with your experience head over to the Four Seasons. it's pricey but worth it. -

Truth be told up front. The Four Seasons is my favorite hotel. Beats the Ritz Carlton in my book.
Service was dynamite as usual and most importantly, and this is my absolute test for hotels, they never lost my packages I had shipped there. Nice job guys! -

Expect the royal treatment upon check in, but you don't need to be an overnight guest to feel like one!
Their spa offers a serious "One" massage, and if you indulge in a spa treatment, you can enjoy the amenities for the day, the pool and gym are at your disposal!
Once you're finished down stairs, pop up to the dining room for afternoon tea...or, if you're lucky enough to be there in the chilly months, be sure to treat yourself to a cup of their famous hot chocolate!
And, if you are lucky enough to spend the night, you wont find a better bed anywhere! -

It's hard for me to say that too much good comes out of Philadelphia (don't worry scowlers, I'm a native), but I must say that a recent stay at the Four Seasons was a pleasant surprise to what could have been another obligatory trip back to the old neighborhood to see family and friends. The hotel is clean, the staff extremely friendly and accomodating (they even wrapped a Christmas gift for me), the rooms large and comfortable, and the restaurant below serves both fine cocktails and drinks (and has the most attentive host and wait staff I've encountered in recent memory).
Bottom line: The price tag may be steep, but the high quality service and decor more than makes up for the bill. (A shout out to the doormen, who were extra courteous) -

The Four Seasons is by far America's best luxury chain. Unlike the stodgy Ritz Carlton, which runs little better than a standard hotel franchise, the Four Seasons brings point A to point B five star service.
I once read an article about the Four Seasons's impeccable staff training program. They treat everyone very well, and staff are required to stay at the hotel at least once to experience the hotel from the customer side. In my stay here, everyone knew everyone and everyone seemed very happy to work here.
You couldn't ask for a better location, right in the heart of Philadelphia, on Logan Square, good for jogging, visiting the Art Museum, and within walking distance to shops and attractions. When I stayed here the hotel was the host of a charity run benefitting the superb Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and I participated in this glorious event. Everyone was very enthusiastic to be contributing to such a great cause.
The Four Seasons was generous to offer a raffle prize of a week's stay at a Four Seasons resort in the Carribean. Darn I didn't win it.
The pool and spa area is nice with lots of great tea and lotions. Also, they had special iced tea at the entrance and a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers.
The rooms are incredibly spacious and room service is top notch. Prices are very reaonable for a Four Seasons.Listed in: Apple or Hotel Magnate

It has been a little while since I last visited the Four Seasons in Philadelphia, but it was everything one would expect from a Four Seasons hotel. The suites are large and comfortable enough to seat four or five. Housekeeping comes twice a day no matter how big of a mess you manage to make. There is internet access in every room and it was easy enough to get going. The staff seemed to bend over backwards to ensure my stay was pleasant.
Everything is decorated in early Americana. I guess it fits with Philadelphia.
The hotel itself is close to both the financial and retail areas. The downside? Pat's, Geno's and Jim's cheesesteak shops are over 7 miles away! Well luckily, there are cabs in Philly that will get you to that wiz covered goodness quick enough. :) -

As many have observed, the Four Seasons meets and in many ways exceeds even the most discerning expectations.
Fantastic staff and attractive rooms make this the place to stay in Philadelphia. The only area needing improvement is the bedroom curtains, although my Grandmother would have liked them.

I am a hotel snob - travel a lot for business and also pleasure.
This is not your usual Four Seasons.
Luxury hotel? I wouldn't go that far. The staff is friendly enough (but not extraordinarly so), the rooms are ok (dated for sure but still pleasant - again not 4 star luxurious) but this hotel lacks a certain je-ne-sais-quoi. It is - dare I say - terribly stiff and boring. No ambiance.
For this price you'll find nicer placer in Philiadelphia f.ex. the Hyatt at Penn's Landing. -

Probably the second best hotel stay I've ever had. I could not believe how incredible the bedding was, I think I slept better here than I do in my own home. The staff is attentive but not overbearing, the rooms are clean and spacious and the restaurant is spectacular. We've made a tradition of meeting here for Christmas brunch now that all the kids have grown.

This hotel is truly lovely. The restaurant (Fountain) is delicious, the rooms are plush, well-kept, and spotless, and the service exceeds any expectations. The public areas are also wonderful, as is the concierge service. And the heat lamps by the entrance are wonderfully welcome on a cold winter day! My favorite hotel in the city! The location could be a tiny bit better, but it's convenient to many of the museums and just a short walk from Chestnut/Walnut Street shops and restaurants.

I rate this hotel a little bit above average. The place no doubt was clean and had a comfortable bed but it still reminded me of any hotel I have stayed at. It did not stand out in my mind any. I much prefer the Park Hyatt Philadelphia At the Bellevue. Yes they are polite but not sincere or friendly. I was not impressed with their valet or concierge service. Our December visit lacked the personal touch. My fiance did love the gym area. His response was WOW when he saw it.

Review from Bill M.
My cousin had a wedding here recently, and talk about top notch service. after a beautiful reception we were treated to a huge buffet that featured hand made duck quesadillas, a fully stocked seafood table, hand rolled sushi, indoor and outdoor bars, and other delicacies.
Afterward we were moved into a HUGE banquet hall that had an amazing four course meal. the service was exceptional, the dance floor was huge, and the sound on stage was incredible for a hotel reception. everything was planned out and accommodated for really well. they even had a big time breakfast buffet the next day where they even made omelets for you right on the spot.
For a huge luxury hotel the room we had didn't impress me very much. it's not like I was expecting a massage robot or anything of that nature. But I have been to plenty of hotels with rooms that offered up a lot more. But it does has free Internet for every room, amazing room service, and incredible bathrooms. and the overall service, and incredible restaurant more then make up for any flaws. Logan Square is the perfect location for it to be in too.Listed in: Top Restaurants

Nonpareil. The hotel rooms reflect just what a business traveler wants: impeccable service, a sumptuous room with effective darkening drapes, and the right amenities at hand.
The Swan Lounge is just the place to meet for a drink after work. I can't say enough for The Fountain restaurant. Perfection at every turn. No request is denied so when the police came to tell me that someone had broken into my car, I insisted that coffee be sent for them while we discussed the details. It arrived instantly with a plate of fruit and scones. The waiter knows that I like tea a certain way and it was brought to me and quietly put beside me. It did soothe my nerves and comforted me to know that the staff cared.
The floral arrangements throughout the hotel are stunning and are reliably so. -

Very dated by Four Seasons standards. About on par with the Ritz in Philadelphia. Not sure what else you can do in the city other than try a boutique property. This place isn't getting it done.
