Check-in experience:

Me: "Hi, I know I requested a king size bed, but there has been a relationship status change in my life, and I now will need two double beds."

Laura at the front desk: "Oh I'm sorry to hear that, but actually we have a complimentary upgrade for you to the Ortega Suite, it's one of our finest and largest accommodations.  You really don't want to give up the Ortega Suite... I'll be happy to order a rollaway or have the housekeeping staff make the sofa bed."

Me: "Done."

***
The Four Seasons Biltmore is outstanding on every level.  It really is the most perfect place to stay and one of the best resorts I've been to.

The aforementioned Ortega Suite is 1300 sf, has a huge front patio, smaller and completely private back patio with fountain and outdoor fireplace, kitchen, large master bedroom and bathroom with steam shower, second bathroom with shower (no steam), living room, and dining room.  Everything about the suite is gorgeous.

The grounds are also lovely for walking around, especially if you're into trees and flowers.  I took lots of pictures of flowers, because apparently I am one of those people.  The resort pool is nice but there are a lot of kids.  Better to use your "passport" for the Coral Casino Beach Club across the street.  The spa and fitness center are quite nice too.  They'll even give you an iPod if you need some music for your workout.

N.B.
Valet parking is verrrrrrrrry expensive.  Park in the self park lots in the back off Hill Rd for free...easy access to cottages too!

Classic 5-star hotel amenities and 5-star hotel service with the added benefits of the picturesque beach location and the historic building (the original hotel has been here for about 80 years). There's a nice fitness center, tennis courts (I expected more than 3, but there's free racquet borrowing, not sure if court time is free but I think so), an on-site pool as well as a huge one at the beach club (free for hotel guests) across the street. Rooms (ours was a deluxe king) are spacious, with huge bathrooms (separate tub and shower, shower has a rainfall showerhead), L'Occitane bath products, plenty of lighting and drawers, as well as a huge closet and a huge flatscreen TV outfitted with DVD player. We had a ground-floor patio that looked out onto the lushly planted courtyard, which made it feel relatively private. Free coffee in the lobby in the morning, later changed to free lemonade.

If I had to nitpick for faults, I would say that our room was serviced pretty late each day, say, after 4pm, when I prefer to have a fresh room earlier. Also, the breakfast at the hotel restaurant, as one would expect, was obscenely expensive: $30 per person before tax and tip.

All in all a top-notch hotel.

Driving a classic convertible roadster from Santa Rita Hills out through the winding hills of Santa Ynez towards Montecito, noshing and wine tasting along the way at Melville, Foley, Foxen, the soon to be built Sea Smoke, and Gainey to where I would eventually find refuge in a Casita at the Biltmore Four Seasons where I would be stuffing myself with Lobster and Crab while drinking myself silly with a Latour Rose and Sinskey Pinot Blanc.   Yes, this would be a perfect day!

The Biltmore is a gorgeous hotel on the "California Riviera" in Montecito. The décor is Spanish, the gardens are breathtaking, and the food... well it's amazing. Thursday nights the Biltmore has a Seafood Buffet in their stunning atrium with unrelenting coastal views.

If the weather permits, I would suggest eating just outside the atrium next to the heat lamps and outdoor fireplace. The food consists of Lobster tails, pre-cracked Crab claws, seared Hamachi/kanpachi, seared tuna, soy miso glazed wild salmon, sea bass, scallops, jumbo shrimp, oysters on the half shell, nigiri sushi, fennel sausage topped sage and butternut squash ravioli, and salads. I would like to preface that I do not like buffets because the food is generally dry, tasteless, and never any good. However, the Biltmore rightfully proved me wrong with very high quality seafood and presentation. I felt an appropriate punishment for speaking with such "generalities" of buffets would be a few extra Lobster tails and Crab claws. Yum, they were sooo good :)

The desserts were also very good. Again, unlike many buffets these were first class. Creamy cheesecakes, flour-less chocolate cake, fresh fruit, flutes of panna cotta, chocolate covered strawberries, creme brulee and many more.

In addition to the great food, there is also NO Corkage fee for wine. This is when my friends Latour Rose, Chimney Rock Blanc, and Sinskey Pinot Blanc peeped their little heads out to say "hi there *wink* *wink*". The service is first class and was evident when the waitress opened each bottle and placed each in a chilled free standing silver wine bucket. A very nice and appreciative touch.

The night eventually ended with a distended stomach and a drunken stupor through their gardens. The gardens are filled with exotic plants from around the world. As you walk through you will notice small signs describing the varietals and known grown geographic location. The last time I visited the Biltmore was 15 years ago under different ownership. It was nice then but I must applaud Mr. Warner for such a beautiful $150mm renovation.  Ty Warner was the founder/creator of Bennie Babies.

I highly recommend the Hotel and their Thursday night seafood buffet for anyone looking for a special place to take that special someone or with your parents if they are paying.  *ahem* Thank you mom and dad :)

Frankly...this particular Four Seasons property didn't impress me. I feel a little bad saying this. I used to work for The Four Seasons (a different location). I have a tremendous amount of respect for The Four Seasons. The Four Seasons pushes for excellence. Excellence on every level.

This particular Four Seasons could use a freshening. It feels a bit worn to me. The exercise room was less than I expected and the rooms we saw were nothing special.

I forget why now but they graciously upgraded us to a suite. The suite was, in fact lovely. But overall...our stay at the nearby Bacara Resort was much more impressive on every level.

Went here during my visit back to LA. I love this hotel. If you are in the Santa Barbara area and you want a luxury hotel near the beach, I would recommend this place over Bacara any day. The service is much better here and the ambiance is way more relaxing. The rooms are also very well done. I think the garden bungalows are much nicer than the main building only b/c it feels so secluded and has a beautiful patio area. The bathrooms are sooooo grand and luxurious. I would love to spend a week just relaxing here. Also, the beach access is very easy and you can actually use the beach unlike some other hotels. Again, the service is EXCELLENT.

My friend just got married at this hotel and it was absolutely gorgeous and our experience there was amazing.

First, driving up to the hotel we were all blown away with the beautiful scenery -- all of the flowers, trees, and plants were stunning. The entire place just looked unreal. We were immediately taken care of from the moment we stepped out of the car.

The architecture and style of the hotel is really breathtaking and easily the most attractive place I have ever stayed (including other 4 seasons). There is interesting stained glass, unique mirrors, archways, funky tile, etc. at every turn. It makes the hotel fun to explore.

The room we got ready in was adorable and the staff was able to provide us with all kinds of things we realized we had forgotten -- toothbrushes, a clothes steamer, bleach (the bride got makeup on her dress!) etc. It was wonderful.

The wedding took place outside with a view of the ocean in the background. There were brightly colored rose petals lining the isle and it was gorgeous.

Their were drinks and dinner inside the hotel after the ceremony. Normally I am not a fan of hotel weddings because they can often be kind of cheesy, but this was really stunning. The room we ate in was dark with all types of candles, a huge fireplace and amazing chandeliers that were dimly lit.

The food was amazing -- I had sea bass and it came out super hot and fresh (not always the case at weddings). Service was great.

I plan to go back to stay here with my husband on a future trip.

Got everything expected when you dishing out of the wahoo to pay. Sorry not very eloquent but true when starting at $500/night for a basic room.

Good thing is I wasn't paying nor the hubby. We were there compliments of a business trip on his part. Rooms were very nice, huge flat screen tv, a very accurate temp system and the biggest bath I've been in that's not a jacuzzi bath. When hubby came back from a hard days work he got a back rub in the bath-we both fit in more then comfortably. You can make it rain if you want too :P

As the trip was organized for a large group there was  prix fixed menu selections to choose from every night. Everything i had was excellent and desert was even better.
Only bummer is no wireless available in rooms which I need for my macbook air-doesn't have ether net hookup.
I also got a complimentary massage courtesy of the event hosts-a amazing surprise. The private suites with ocean view and fireplaces for massages are great. If you want to indulge and have all the money in the world this place has the most extensive spa service list I've ever seen. The massage was great.

Beautiful ocean side location, great customer services and comfy beds. Definitely a nice place to get away to in Santa Barbara.

The rooms may be small, but overall, the Biltmore is one of my top two faves. The lobby is gorgeous, the grounds and views fantastic, the spa truly amazing...but best of all, you get access to the club across the street. This alone made the experience. The pool area is enclosed by glass to keep the wind at bay and the view is absolutely phenomenal. We ordered margarita after margarita, oreo shakes, hot fudge sundaes and more, all while lounging for days.

I came back a few shades darker, a tad pinker and a little (ok, a lot) heavier. But it was all truly worth it.

OK so I didn't actually stay here but worked here and interacted with a lot of the staff including the salon folks who were super nice and helpful.  The grounds are very well maintained and of course Santa Barbara is beautiful and this place takes full advantage of that.

While I was walking back in from shooting on the beach, I saw a sweet BMW Z-8 which is kind of a rare car (only my roomate has one that I've seen in real life otherwise). Well it turns out it was Kevin Costner's since he was there and ran into my friend Jamie literally so she had him come say hey to the girls and we took some shots with him.

That really had nothing to do with the place, but overall it was a very pleasant day I spent there and I suspect it's a bit out of my day-to-day travel price range but I'd definitely love to stay there some time in the future.

Just got back from a two night stay here. I stayed in the Ty Warner cottage, a 2,000 square foot extravaganza of a suite, it was awesome. It had a nice bedroom with a king bed, a huge master bath with a steam shower, and a second guest bathroom. It also had a huge dining room table, and a kitchen with a fridge and sink. I never did find a coffee pot in the place, which I found odd.
We had room service the first night, and the food and the service were impeccable. I had the filet, SO had the angus burger, we were in heaven.
The next morning we had room service breakfast, food and service awesome once again.
That night we had dinner in the restaurant, which is a beautiful atrium, with views of the ocean that are to die for. Again, our food and service were amazing. I had a killer dessert called 'textures of chocolate', still dreaming about it!
We had the Sunday brunch which was good, but franky I've seen more extensive buffet's elsewhere. And also, the buffet closed fairly early and they switched to a lunch menu.
The coffee at the Four Seasons was awesome too, we couldn't get enough of it.
I found all the service, food, etc to be excellent, really no complaints at all.
I see there are some complaints here on yelp about the prices of various things, such as parking, food, etc. You don't go to a five star resort and complain about prices. Perhaps you would be more at home at a Holiday Inn?

This review is for the Sunday Breakfast Buffet

We'll start by getting the price out of the way. The Sunday breakfast buffet is $75 per person. All you can eat, drink, etc. Yes, it's expensive. Not something to do often, unless of course you're loaded, in which case you're not reading this anyway (that's what minions are for).

So, clearly, the Biltmore Sunday brunch is a special affair kind of deal -- and boy, is it ever!

I have had the luck to have been twice this year, thanks to the ever considerate (and beautiful) Wiff. Once for Mother's Day, and another time for Father's Day.

I won't go into details on the service or setting. Both are seriously stellar. Top-notch all the way, as you would expect from the Biltmore.

Special occasion or not, $75 is a good chunk of change for eggs and toast, so we made sure we did our best in 'leveling' the field a bit.

Multiple mimosas to get things started, and then off to the races.

First round: prime rib, salmon, poached egg, a few oysters, stone crab claws, and since years of waiting tables has enabled me to balance well, a good half dozen freshly made blinis topped precariously with ridiculous amounts of caviar.

Round Two: A small omelet (made to order), bacon, mini bagel with cream cheese and lox, a waffle, fruit, and a small spattering of very tasty lobster puff pastries.

Round Three: This one was purely for the win. A entire plate dedicated to oysters and caviar. Sheer unadulterated heaven.

Round Four: Barely able to move by now, so pacing myself time wise. A nice cappuccino, and off to the 'deserts' section. A sample of each and every cake and/or pie -- all conveniently proportioned to be bite sized. A few freshly made cookies, and of course, some fruit on a stick, totally covered from a few well placed swirls in the chocolate fountain.

And so, 90 minutes later, we all sat outside on the shady garden terrace, enjoying a final espresso.

But for that once a year extravagance, the brunch at the Biltmore is very hard to beat, and most certainly a 5-star experience all the way.

Was is worth it? Dollar for dollar? Was I able to get my money's worth?

Hard to say.

Let's put it this way -- I'm certainly willing to give it another shot.

Loved the hotel mostly because of it's location, the gardens and access to the pool @ the Crystal Casino across the street (which also has ping pong!) Offers the typical Four Seasons comforts but the Spanish architecture makes it more alluring not to mention the spa. It might be the whole Santa Barbara ambiance or it might be the hotel...either way, I'm a fan.

Okay so I was back here this Sunday for my sisters birthday. The service was fantastic!! They specially made a number of items for our table and brought out so many extras that were requested. However the food was overall pretty mediocre. Nothing extraordinary. And the Brunch selection was dismal. They probably had less than half of the selection as they had my last visit. I understand that times are tough but really the buffet looked pathetic. It was so disappointing.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel. The grounds are beautiful and perfectly groomed and maintained. The rooms are spacious (as are the bathrooms... huge with massive tubs and showers) and the beds are simply heavenly. They also provide complimentary L'Occitaine bath products - perfection! The immaculate colonial style architecture of the resort paired with the stunning gardens is totally romantic and breathtaking.

The Biltmore is in a secluded, beach front location in Montecito so you definitely have to drive to get to downtown Santa Barbara and State Street but the seclusion provides a perfect setting for a relaxing vacation away.

The "casino" is the pool and spa facilities across the street on the beach. There is a great little cafe that you can get tasty lunch items from - either sitting at a table or having them brough poolside to you in your chair or cabana. The people here are also ttotally willing to set up chairs and umbrellas on the beach for you. They even provide a great canvas beach bag filled with magazines and board games.

The food at the Biltmore's Bella Vista restaurant is also all amazing. The breakfast buffets are to dire for. All the menu items are delicious. Eating breakfast out on the front patio is a perfect way to start any morning.

I haven't yet bothered to review the Biltmore, because reviewing it is to review something that is so inherently perfect that it transcends reviews.

I'll try to think of negatives.

- It's expensive.  Like, prohibitively so.  But then, you probably guessed that.
- The bridal suite isn't what you would expect it to be - I mean, it's pretty incredible, but you sort of expect more.
- Everything shuts down at 11p.

Okay, that's pretty much it.  The place is fucking gorgeous.  Not only are the building, decor, and grounds gorgeous, but the fucking location itself is gorgeous.  If blue oceans, whitecaps, gorgeous sunsets, and Spanish style architecture are your bag, baby, then look no further.

Also, the food is absolutely incredible.   I highly recommend brunch here.  And lunch.  And dinner.

The staff is professional, knowledgeable, and personable.

I got married here three years ago, so that was pretty awesome, in the truest sense of the word.  I still sort of can't believe it.

So, okay, this wasn't a great review, but I mean, what else can I say?

My BFF's BF D (did you get that?) took us here last year for Xmas just to check out the grounds and have some drinks and apps and it was beautiful.  We just went back yesterday and the grounds were as beautiful as last year.  The tree was up with all of the ornaments, and poinsettias were lavishly dispersed throughout the gardens.

We haven't had the pleasure of staying here yet, but I have heard great things about it.  So this review is for the restaurant, Bella Vista.  In short, YUM.  We stopped in for lunch, and sat indoors because it was so cold outside.  While the inside is lovely, and features a partially retracting roof,  we really should have braved the elements (with the addition of a heat lamp or two) and sat outside.  The view is beautiful and I am simply convinced that the quality of light is better in Santa Barbara.  Perhaps without the layer of smog things are just twinklier (is that a word?  It is now).

I ordered the mixed seafood grill which featured white and green asparagus, scallops, salmon and lobster.  Much healthier than my carnivore diet of late, and the Biltmore Smash (crushed raspberries, vodka and champagne) topped things off nicely.   Just for good measure, we did end up outside so I could have a second Biltmore Smash.

TIP:  Sit outside.  Ask for a heat lamp and order a cocktail and enjoy.

*Cha-ching!*

I felt like a million bucks cruising through this place. (Yes, I was just cruising. I didn't actually stay there. I can just imagine what that would be like!)

Went to the bar to enjoy a beverage while seated outside by the well-manicured grass that looks over the ocean a stone's throw away. The free bar snacks (mixed nuts and cheese crackers) were addicting. (I'm a snacker!) My drink (ciroc, sparkling wine, crushed raspberries with a sugared rim) was one of the best drinks I've ever had. Seriously! (Trust that this is a high compliment from me.) I am committed to replicating this drink at home.

Check out the place even if you're not checked into it.

Took the visiting grandfather out to lunch here. I always take a guest here first. He always pulls out the "Remember, people don't attack the desert, they attack the castle." Always good to know.

They have a delectable Tempura soft shell crab & greens salad... almost as sublime as the view. Great place for an extended cordial conversation. The wait staff are pros, touch a jazz, with a nice glass of chilled white.

Food review:

I had the most expensive eggs Benedict over the weekend. We dined at the Ty Lounge because we weren't hungry enough for their Sunday brunch buffet at their Bella Vista restaurant (a colleague told me it costs $75/person - yikes!) --both dining locations offer the beautiful view of the Butterfly Beach. I was expecting to die and go to heaven since the e.b. costs $19, but nothing happened...there was no wow factor. It was light. I'll give it that. I give it a 3-star.

Now their profiteroles were a different story. It's true what Lemonjelly L. said; their profiteroles are "amazing," and you pay a price for them - $17.   Here's a picture of the must have dessert:

Ice creams flavors come in chocolate, banana rum, caramel, and vanilla. Yummm.......Mmmm....Ooooohhhh....sooo good!

Very nice place to stay, loved the big comfy bed and pillows, all the staff was top notch, rooms are nice but I've def had nicer for the price. I was very irritated they decided to come into the room and clean it despite the do not disturb sign was on the door, they say this is their policy.  Overall a good experience and I would stay here again! The Ty Lounge at the Four Seasons has my vote for one of the most romantical places for a visit. The resort itself is prohibitively precious, posh and pricey. It is also drop-dead gorgeous and plunked right upon Butterfly Beach in Montecito.

My advice? Skip the room rates and reservations. Instead, explore the area, drive the coast, and about an hour before sunset...park on Channel Drive. Walk from the beach into the resort, through the lobby, through the bar at the Ty Lounge, and take your seat on the patio for a sunset accompanied by a sweet cocktail, live music and the sound of the ocean. In the event any industry types are seated near you (happens), hopefully the sound of the hummingbirds will drown them out!

This review is for the restaurant in the Biltmore...

Kristen and I had lunch at the Biltmore last week and it was a truly mind-blowing experience. The views of the ocean were absolutely spectacular from our table and the service and presentation were spot on (the iced tea is served with liquid sugar - amazing! - and my butternut squash soup was poured into my bowl, over creme fresh, right at the table). The food was great, but whoa dang, $27 for a burger! Be ready to drop big bucks, even for lunch, to eat at this awesome restaurant. Our bill for two was $98 after tip, no alcohol involved.

This review is for the Ty lounge,
Yes it's at the four seasons so I knew it was going to be pricey, but I'm okay with that as long as the quality of the food is good/drinks are up to par.  But unfortunately the best bite here was the asiago cheese crackers one can buy form Trader Joe's.  We had the ahi tuna w/ tempura roll (tempura was good, but the tuna/avocado roll on the other hand not so much flavor) and the cocktail tasting flight (okay but nothing to write home about).
The view are amazing, setting very romantic, but techno playing over the speakers lowers the romantic factor a bit.  So I give them one star for the views.  Go there for a the view and a drink....... maybe.

This luxury hotel sits above my favorite beach, Butterfly Beach. I came here for my birthday one year. Even though I only lived a few miles away at the time, it was a luxurious treat to spend time in one of the most beautiful spots in California. Views are endless, the sent of flowers are abundant, and the service is to perfection.

I look forward to visiting this hotel when I visit my old stomping grounds of Santa Barbara.

I didn't stay at the hotel, I only ate at the cafe. I had the most amazing profiteroles ever. Not just choux pastry, ice cream and chocolate sauce, but profiteroles that were a work of art. I think there was gold leaf involved. Four little pastries each with a different ice cream, and a warm pot of velvet creamy chocolate on the side.
Service was perfect, we were well attended to by multiple staff and manager, and all we had was desserts and after dinner drinks.

In the corner a man, maybe a guest of the hotel, would saunter over to the piano and play a few tunes. And then someone else would sit beside him and sing.

Afterwards, a quick walk along the beach in the full moon. This was just before Christmas, and everyone had that special "spirit."

I was lucky enough to be able to stay here for about a week in December of last year.  It really is as nice as every one says but-because I didn't personally have to pay for it-I can give it 5 stars.

Every morning I was greeted by lovely people that look you right in the eye.  At the gym they have these nice fresh lemon scented towels in crushed ice for you to cool yourself and chilled Gatorade.  They have the NY Times for you and anything else you might like to read.

The gardens are so beautiful and well maintained.  And-unlike newer resorts-you get the sense that this place has some great history and time has done the place well.  There are neat old trees and the ocean is literally across the street.  Growing up in Northern California, you get the real sense that we sometimes (not always) miss out on the California vibe.  That stereotypical California feeling that includes warm weather and sunshine and dolphins hoping around at the beach (all of these things actually occurred during my stay in Santa Barbara)

People are rich here and are not afraid to show it.  If that doesn't bother you too much you should stay here too and live the good life for a bit.

God Bless this place.

The grounds couldn't be more lovely, the staff more helpful, the beds more comfortable (dear god) and the food....oh....the food.  The Biltmore in Santa Barbara has it all.  Great for a little retreat from Los Angeles, and only an hour and a half away.  Great little getaway.

Initially, I thought this place would be too "rustic".  For $600 a night, I wanted something to be more like SF Ritz...

Upon arrival, however, I realized I was completely wrong.  Each room is like your own secluded villa.  The grounds are  HUGE and beautifully manicured.  Furthermore, the staff is incredibly friendly.  There is even a mini-golf and croquet course.  You'll read about the train running along the back of the hotel.  Honestly, I didn't think it was a problem.  Now, I am a heavy sleeper...so if you aren't, I'd recommend asking for a room in the front of the compound.

Our room was on the 2nd floor - a double.  Very clean, classic Mission style furnishing.  The pillow top mattress and down comforter was amazing...I could have slept all day.  What I love best is the bathroom - white & blue tiles which made everything bright and clean.  The large, roomy bathtub had a "rain" function which did just that - turned the shower into your rain cloud.  I'm in love.

The food was expensive, but very good.  We had the breakfast/lunch buffet the first day ($65) and were treated to a wide array of interesting foods - all fresh, all incredibly well-prepared.  We ate the bar a few times - the kobe beef burger is TO DIE FOR.  Ohmygosh.  The slider burgers were decent and the shrimp quesadilla was YUMMY.

I am not a margarita fan, typically, but on suggestion, I had "The Legend" - WOW.  It was quite possibly the best made drink i've ever had.  Again, the price was hefty, but well worth it.

This would be a perfect place to just "get away" from it all.  You can walk along the beach (right across the street from the hotel).  Santa Barbara is simply wonderful.

I searched all over the net but hardly found any reviews about the spa at the Biltmore. So I took a dive at it, expecting a certain standard when it comes down to the Four Seasons. Well, it was pretty goooooodd.

When you go to a resort spa, you tend to pay a little more than boutique day spas because they have a larger facility. The women locker room was roomy and elegantly decorated. I should mention that everything in the room was meticulously tidy and cleaned. Great job to the staff there. I went on a weekday so I only saw 3 other people sporadically for the entire 4 hours I was there. There was a sauna, a steam room with a eucalyptus spray bottle, a couple of shower stalls with a special rain bar where water spits out from the side. The products they have smelled good but they could've been the cheap stuff since they were masked by Biltmore's containers. Oh well, they made my skin feels soft and I liked them. The lounge area was stylish and relaxing with views overlooking the ocean. The snacks were pretty standard - whole fruits, trail mix, dried fruit chips, teas, flavored water and lemonade.

I ordered an 80-min hot stone massage and it was excellent but not the best I had (best - Westward Look Resort in Tucson). The massage room also had an ocean view and a fireplace. Overall, it was a blissful experience and I didn't want to leave.

PS I posted some photos...

The Biltmore has a special place in my heart since we had our wedding here.

The staff is very professional and provides impeccable service. The food is AMAZING! Everyone kept telling us for months that it was the best wedding they ever went to, and complimenting the food.  Normally, I think room service food is always just okay if not downright bad. Even at other Four Seasons hotels, I've had food delivered that was not hot, or didn't taste so great. The room service at the Biltmore was one of the best meals I've ever had.  We stayed in one of their suites. It was newly renovated with 2 bathrooms, a living room with a giant plasma tv, a dining room area, bath tub, steam shower, 2 closets, and 2 entrances. The back entrance led out to a furnished patio area by the "croquet lawn." The front entrance overlooked the Escala garden.

Beautiful hotel, amazing food, & excellent service. I would highly recommend it to anyone willing to pay for it. It's one of the priciest properties of all the Four Seasons resorts.

Enchanting location--especially adored the roominess of the cottages.  Note to recent guests--leave the kiddies at home next time--or go visit Jon and Kate--just don't bring them here.  The ambience is peaceful; the decor understated; and that staff isn't always telling you their names, like you care, they just anticipate your needs and make your stay delightful.  Isn't that what it's all about?  Enjoy.

Disclaimer: I've never slept here.

I have eaten here, strolled here, made confessions, had mad crushes, enjoyed great times with old friends.

The Biltmore is a Santa Barbara classic. It's got that money-without-sit-in-your-lap pretension feeling about it. And it's adjacent to Butterfly Beach, which is simply one of the greatest stretches of coastline anywhere.

Paradise!

What a beautiful environment this was!!!! From the moment we arrived at the front gate to the time we stepped into our luxurious room, we were pampered!! The staff are soooooo wonderful that you feel like you are in Bali or Southeast Asia!  All the beautiful and plush greens and flowers that surround their garden and hotel, you know someone really took the time to make it happen. (that or they love gardening)

The Coral Casino is definitely worth checking out if you are a guest at the hotel!! With the lap pool overlooking the beautiful ocean!! Waves crashing against the rocks while you sit and read a book!!! And the warm sun beaming on your skin as you watch sunset. This is paradise!

I had flowers to be delivered to the room and they had some miscommunications with the displacement of my card as well as having a stem of the flowers broken...so as a courtesy they discounted my flowers and sent up a complimentary dessert to our room.

If you are a breakfast person, you must have their omelettes there! I had their egg white omelette and I'm still craving for it today!! That's how good it was! Fluffy, pippin hot and lots of ingredients inside not like the skimpy ones you eat at other breakfast places!!

I'm definitely wouldn't mind driving another 4 hrs to go eat their omelettes!!

So, I did not have the good fortune to stay the night here, but I did have the decent fortune to have breakfast here and I would totally do it again the next time around. The dining room has a retractable glass ceiling and a fabulous view of the ocean that is just a few skips away across the street from the hotel. The homemade granola and fruit is tasty and worth a little spurge in the budget. Just a heads up though - if you are not into little birds flying and chirping on nearby seats while you eat, then you're best bet is to go elsewhere.
