4 stars for good value, but not plush by any definition.
Stay here if you want a very basic room and a good breakfast.
Pluses: Breakfast is awesome! Custom made omlette and make sure you get some of their salsa. People were pouring that salsa on everything else they ate. wonderful fresh fruits, fresh juice, bacon....
Minus:
we didn't get a renovated room. It looked tired. Bathroom was so tiny it was difficult to close/open door when someone was using the toilet. Definitely not a fancy hotel.
-No fridge
-could hear the noise from the pool if your room faces the pool.
i got this room via "name your own price" on priceline so i wasn't specifically picking this joint out. right off the freeway and easy to find but....RIGHT OFF THE FREEWAY. my room was SUPER loud. felt like i was camping on the side of the road.
decent room but kind of had that motel makeover vibe. no fridge, super small bathroom and jangy hole in the wall box heater/ac that rattled. for $70 it was good but i wouldn't go out of my way for this place.
Who the hell knew a place like this existed in San Rafael? A newly remodeled hotel with a beautiful atrium and halls of windows surrounding the pool. What made my stay so fun?
A plushy King bed with a plushy comforter and did I mention plushy, plushy pillows.
After a ambrosial sorta romantic dinner at Picco. I grabbed a glass of Pinot from the bar at the hotel and sat by the pool next to a blazing fireplace and smoking a cigar.
Room service breakfast while watching the god awful ludicrous stupidestwasteoftime $14.99 Crank 2 on a flat screen tv.
What I learned after a weekend NIGHT in San Rafael, I emphasize night as I never seen this side of San Rafael.
There are A LOT of gorgeous sizzling hot cougars prowling and witnessing A LOT of Sharon Stone leg crossing.
When I'm a cougar (cause if all cougars look like the ones I saw I want to be one) I'm hanging out in San Rafael. HOLLA!!

After two nights at the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero in SF, we arrived in San Rafael for a final night before heading home. While the Sheraton is certainly a down-grade, we actually had a great bed (and good night sleep) and better t.v. quality.
I smoke and they have no smoking rooms but gave us one with a sliding glass door opening to a common walk area (with plastic patio chairs available). I was a little concerned about safety, noticing the seedy apartments nearby and the sign in our room near the slider stating "Make sure to use both dead bolts and the slider lock".
The in-house restaurant had a very nice breakfast buffet in the morning and overall we had a nice stay for a very reasonable price.
I slept well and winded down nicely here. I liked the interior colors of my room. The color scheme was a cherrywood color for all the furniture (headboard, desk, night tables), slate blue, tan and cream . The carpet looked like multi colored gingham. The walls were a khaki shade except for the blue wall the head board was against. Of course, the bed was comfy with all its fluffy pillows. The bathroom although clean with all amenities was extremely small. I felt like I was being stuffed in a closet every time I went in there. -not a fun one trying to get ready in... They have 3 different routers here with different signal strengths to accommodate your location. This is a non-smoking hotel. So there aren't any funny smells lingering around in the elevator or hallways. The complimentary breakfast buffet consisted of fresh cut cantaloupes, honeydew, grapefruit, strawberries, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, muffins, bagels, roasted red potatoes and a fresh omelet with your choice of toppings.
3.5 Stars Rounded up.
I stayed here for two nights and found the place to be quite clean, cozy and comfortable. I was able to get a deal that includes free complementary breakfast so it sweeten the stay a little because the food was hot and very tasty.
The service was friendly though our maid left us two facial bars of soap and no body soaps, which was fine with me, but made it difficult to shower since the facial soap was very small.
All the rooms were clean and came with a flat screen television (definitely a bonus since many of the channels were in HD). The air conditioner was a bit loud and the gym was a bit small with just one treadmill and bike and nothing else.
Overall, my stay was quite nice and I might consider staying here again.

I prefer the Embassy Suites but this time Hotwire gave me the Sheraton. I've stayed here a few times before and they've cleaned the place up a bit. The rooms are Sheraton Standard issue with the King bed and the pile o' pillows. The website advertised a fridge but there wasn't one in the room. The grounds are cleaner and more tidy than they used to be and all of the staff are very friendly.
A few years ago I stayed here and the only way to get the free-wifi to work was to be in the lobby. That's gotten better but didn't matter for me because I'd stuplidly left my power cord at home. The good thing is that thy have a business center which amounts to two PCs with web browsers on them.
I had a call-girl in the room next to me.. I know this because I used the computer she and her muscly boyfriend were using and they'd left the page with her craigslist listing open. They came and went at all hours and there was a lot of knocking on their door. I guess that could be an extra convenience for some customers.
If it's good enough for call girls and road warriors I guess it's good enough for me.

This is for a review similar to Rachel C. This is ONLY to review the facilities for conferences and meetings.
From the outside to the lobbies, hallways, rooms, bathrooms, and pool facililty, this Sheraton appears to have just finished a very nice remodel and the setup for the conference rooms is exactly what you'd expect of a professional facility.

I arrived at the Sheraton Four Points courtesy of a Priceline bid and for the price I paid it was an incredible bargain. For the same money I have traditionally stayed in a comparatively seedy motel just down the road.
The hotel is just off Hwy. 101 with very easy access on and off, but is much quieter than you might expect. The lobby is warm and accomodating, the staff friendly and helpful, the rooms spacious with big beds and a large screen HD capable TV. There was only one elevator in operation, but signs indicated that the hotel is working on the problem.
Yes, the bathrooms are small, but how much time are you going to actually spend in there?
Based on reading older reviews, I think there have been some noticeable renovations and improvements done recently.

I can't speak for the sleeping rooms.
I didn't stay here.
I attended a training class in one of their meeting rooms.
The meeting room was appointed well for an extended training class. I've set-up quite a few, so I notice when something or someone wasn't paying attention when they set the meeting facilities up. Doesn't take much to make it go one way or the other.
This one was fine. Water & hard candy on the tables. Paper & pens. All the appropriate materials at each of the theater set-up stations. Coffee was fresh & hot. Always important. Sometimes you need caffeine to make it though a training class.
So, I guess I'm all set for next Tuesday.
Going to be a long day.
Hope I learned everything I need to know.
Hope my Vote-by-Mail vote was the right one.
Thanks Four Points for making my training as painless as possible.
See you again next year.

Okay, I didn't think it was that bad - especially for the price. Best part for us is that it was super close to our base of operations for my mom's birthday. The room was very nice, though the hallway was dirty and someone had spilled something cracker-y in the elevator and had not cleaned it up. Our key didn't work so the housecleaning lady let us in and then it turned out we were in the room they told us but not the one they assigned us (hunh?). We insisted we weren't moving and they re-coded the key. (I loved it when they asked me, "Did the housekeeper ask to see your i.d.? First of all, she spoke no English and secondly, what was she supposed to check it against?)
The bar was nice and the food was okay and over-priced. I heard this place gets MOBBED when Nascar's in town. Seems like they should be able to keep it in better condition.
Would I stay here again? Yes? For a special occasion - no.

For a nice, low priced hotel in the area, I struck gold staying here. After some wretched experiences at the Embassy Suites across the freeway, the Four Points was a breath of cinnamon-apple scented air (seriously, smell the lobby. It's just like Christmas! Yum!). The staff welcomed our weary, wedding party bedraggled butts in around midnight, and sent us off to our room with some friendly chit chat and lots of smiles.
I did giggle a little at the revamp this line seems to have gone through (gone is the little nautical compass logo, in with a brightly colored four square thing that seems to have led to bright colors being splashed about). Honestly, I'm glad my room had a big blue wall - it certainly made it different than any other slightly rundown sterile box of a hotel room. Everything was clean, we had a nice big flat screen tv, a free bottle of water (woo!) and a great view down onto the pool area.
Speaking of which - the pool area was awesome - way beyond what I expected. The main pool, a hot tub, tons of seating, and even an enclosed outdoor fireplace!!! Note - you'll need to bring your own towel down; the soaking wet man in the elevator shared that little gem. And speaking of the elevators, they were the only fault I could find with this hotel - they were excruciatingly slow and only one seemed to be working.
I would absolutely recommend this as an affordable option for folks looking to stay in the area.

Wow Clementine! That's pretty rough and I strongly disagree.
I'm not claiming this to be a 4 star luxury hotel per the official hotel rating system. But this was an excellent value. Perhaps they remodeled recently, but the hotel was very clean, well kept, and my room comfortable. The bed was the famed Sheraton sweet sleeper and I slept like the dead. The large flat screen hd-tv was very nice.
I came to the bay area to visit both San Francisco and Napa Valley so this was perfectly centrally located. My room didn't have a view, but I only used the jacuzzi and slept there, spending most of my time running around the valley and downtown SF all day so that didn't bother me. Bottom line is, if you want a nice comfortable hotel room, centrally located between wine country, the north coast, and Oakland/San Francisco, for less than $100/night, you just can't beat it.

I think that this place considers itself to be a three or four star hotel -- It's actually one of the worst hotels I've seen. When you see the water-damaged ceilings, the peeling wallpaper and the extremely soiled carpet, you will feel like you're in the slums of India.
The good thing about this place is that the bed and pillows were very comfortable.
The bartenders are son & pop. They'll make drinks as you request them or try their best to concoct what you want. That's good customer service. The outdoor pool area has a cute, cozy lounge area with a fireplace to stay warm in the evenings. The hotel is clean & located conveniently close to Northgate Mall and stores. Attended a retirement party here in one of their meeting rooms, and it spaciously accomodates 100 people. Nice, pleasant stay if visiting Marin County.
The price is right, but the place is a little drab. The rooms are big enough, but nothing special at all. It looks like they tried to spruce up some areas, but the pool area depressed me a little bit. Something just seemed off. The bar is open at weird hours, definitely not accommodating to those who might like a beer while at the pool. And the keycards. Oh boy, the keycards. They've got serious issues and they might want to think about going back to good old fashioned keys before someone goes on a rampage...
