Review from Mark M.
I'm a SPG Platinum junkie (about to hit 100 nights this year)...and while I love love love the Starwood brands....I just can't wrap my head around (or heart) the Four Points brand. Call me elitist.
So I had to be in Fresno for five days for work and this was my only choice. There is nothing worse than staying in a non-Starwood hotel....so booked here (GREAT rate, y'all).
WOW, pleasantly surprised. Beyond the great rate:
- Friendly staff who are really responsive to my needs
- Great restaurant staff (especially the bar) and decent food
- Clean, well kept
- Quiet
- Spacious
- Close enough to anything in Fresno you'd need
- Major issues with wireless, but they have plug in too (problem solved)
Good job! -

Ugh, don't be fooled. I have stayed in other 4 points and this place is not to their caliber.
-1 star for stairs and no ramps or elevators.
-1 star for paper thin walls and floors. We could hear every movement above us.
-1 star for internet that freezes your browser when you try and upload an email attachment.
-1 star for horrible backbreaking bed.
-1 star for air conditioning unit that would not blow cold are even when set to 65 degrees.
Shoot, I can't do zero star reviews.
It looked pretty when we got in the room, but when it comes down to it I've stayed at motels that were ultimately more comfortable. -

This is the best hotel in Fresno which is not saying much, but none the less -- it's immaculate. The rooms are modern and nicely furnished. Sure if you're willing to look past the prostitutes that walk the corner and the horrible side of town its on, then I'd say go for it. But I wouldn't make this place a regular visit.
The only negative problem I've ever had with this hotel was they overcharged me double my stay. They took 400.00 out of my bank account. It was fixed in no time within 2-3 business days so no big complaints here. -

Great pictures online but rooms are a lot older than shown. Lobby gives an unrealistic impression of the place. Held two events here and they went well. Nice venue.

Review from Amy B.
I stayed here a few years ago and remember it being a great place. I think I was in a "gold" room then, and now, well, not so much. The room is spacious enough and is updated with a flat screen TV and a nice, huge, L-shaped desk (with an outlet on top in the lamp rather than underneath!!! Always a plus!). But it just feels dirty. The bathroom is a bit icky, with lots of mold all over the shower and big scratches across the mirror. The bedspread has a big spot on it. The carpet looks old and worn. Yucky ick on the walls. You get the picture. The rooms seem to be soundproofed enough between rooms, but if you're on the first floor (and if you have a lot of luggage to lug, you'll want to be because there's no elevator), you can hear every footstep upstairs. I don't remember the towels being so thin and lame either.
The staff seem nice enough, although I was quite annoyed that neither of my keys worked when I checked in and I had to lug all of my stuff back to the lobby. I suppose that the free cookies in the lobby made up for that one.
Also, a word about room service from Smuggler's: don't. I ordered a veggie burger with sweet potato fries. The veggie burger was a standard frozen patty. Can't screw that up too much. But the sweet potato fries were some of the most disgusting things I've ever ingested. How do I know they were frozen? Because some of them still were! The breakfast at Smuggler's isn't much better, I'm afraid.
This hotel has lots and lots of potential. It could be a really great place with the proper management and investment. But until the hotel realizes that potential, I'm going to have to find a new go-to hotel for my Fresneck work travel. -

Cleanliness roulette.
I've stayed here 4 different times on business and each time they've lost a star. I travel this way no less than every 2 months.
The first time, it was fantastic, clean room, free bottled water, enjoyed the pool after work, hit the hotel gym, great trip.
The second time, AC was broken in half of the hotel and they put me in a room that reeked of smoke and had that 'grungy' feel to it. Gym was in the wing with the broken AC, the pool was overrun by what I assumed to be tourists. I had to ask for a bottle of water as they didn't put any in my room, they complied.
The third time was average and Fresno was too cold to hang out by the pool, the hotel was pretty quiet. Room seemed grungy again as I wasn't in the wing I was the first time, again. No bottled water, didn't even bother to ask this time.
Fourth time, although I have a special request in my business reservation account for upper level rooms (for safety), I got a ground floor spot near the lobby, as they were sold out of everything else. Room seemed clean this time, but again no water. The kicker was they ignored my business account on file. I always pay through direct bill everywhere I go, but charged my incidentals card for the full amount of my stay. This has happened in other cities and the hotel always fixes it. I guess I got someone at Four Points who doesn't like to be wrong, so not only did they refuse to fix it, they refused to even consider the clerical error.
Well the beauty of the situation is: there are other chain hotels in Fresno, and I have a Yelp account. So long Four Points. -

It must be me but it's hot up in here...
The thermometer was stuck at 81 for our room, despite setting it to 65. Solution: call the front desk to get the desk worker to explain slowly how to push a button. I told her that two buttons are usually my specialty and that a third would have just been a nightmare for me...she didn't appreciate the sarcasm...so I just turned the damn thing off.
For the price of $60 a night, it sure beats others around. 3 stars -

Dated, run-down, past updates aren't covering up the deep-down renovations this place needs. I'm Starwood Gold and am assuming I got one of their "better" rooms ... but walls are thin, adjoining room doors allow for a lot of noise transfer, bathroom tile was "sticky" (what the ???), bathroom fixtures are very dated, carpet is grungy, sheets are thin. Yeah, you get the picture.
I did get free breakfast in the hotel restaurant ... which is a dive in and of itself that seems like it has been touched since 1982.

Wow. I paid $107.00 for this room and I have to say I am impressed. I paid $150 for a room in San Diego and it was not even half as nice as this place. I really don't understand the bad reviews.
The front desk was extremely friendly and personable. I think his name was Jon. Young, blonde kid who I expected to be annoying and unknowledgeable was informed and polite. Thank you for hospitality and professionalism.
Our room was huge! A King bed, a chaise, a desk, a flat screen tv. Wowsers. There were some suspicous white stains on the chaise but i am going to pretend they were baby formula? It is my only complaint. But really not bad at all.
I was extremely happy with this place and do not understand the bad reviews. We only stayed for one night and no the area isn't the best but c'mon... It is Fresno. -

I stayed here for the Elks State Convention. Pretty nice hotel. My only complaints were that the wifi signal was pretty weak in our room, and the cable selection was poor.
Otherwise, the beds were pretty nice. I'm accustomed to a hard bed and these were nice and firm. The room didn't smell like smoke THANK GOD! The towels were really soft and over sized. the water in the shower got hot quick, and each morning coffee was hot and tasty at the front desk. I forgot my toothbrush and toothpaste at home and they gave me a fresh set. The desk staff knew about the good restaurants, and the best taxi's in the area. they knew Fresno really well and gave perfect directions.
The pool was nice and clean and the weather allowed some good swimming. My only real reason for not giving 5 stars was that the hot tub was more of a luke warm tub. It just would not get warm! After taking a dip in the pool in the late evening, I was hoping for a nice hot jacuzzi to jump into. This was not the story. There was a lot of maintenance happening around the whole place, so I have to assume this was one of the things being "worked on".
Our hospitality suite for the Elks North District was pretty nice as well. it had a nice big comfy couch with a love seat and a lazy boy to boot. Again, no smell or trace of cigarette smoke, so I was happy. Overall, a very nice stay and I would certainly use this hotel again. -

Stayed there on May 18th. Pleasantly surprised, as other hotels in neighborhood looked too cheap and dirty. My room had a large comfy king bed and chaise lounge. Overall nice and clean. Wi-Fi was excellent - very fast, so I don't know why others said it was slow. Breakfast was a nice touch the next morning - basic breakfast with good service. I was there the same night the Elks people were there - they were everywhere talking and socializing; not a big bother as hotel grounds has plenty of general outdoor areas to congregate.
Stairwell to room was shaky and no elevators, so if you gotta lug heavy stuff to the room try asking for help from the front desk Figuring out the thermostat took a while, but you'll get it with about 5-10 minutes of effort. On-site bar (Smuggler's Bar) was too hot and stuffy to go inside, and not many options nearby, unless they are chain restaurants near the mall on Shaw. Too bad, as I wanted to watch the basketball playoffs and have a nice drink or two.
Overall good experience. Helpful staff, especially the young, blond guy; he pointed out recommendations and how to get there. Good price. Fast Internet. Easy parking near the room, but could be competitive for those shade spots come Summer time. -

This place is a DUMP! The fist thing I noticed is that the neighborhood the hotel is located in has many tattoo shops and "Your job is your credit" used car lots. The lobby is not at all welcoming, the hallway smells and I believei see body fluids on the upholstery of the furniture. NASTY! Do not stay here and they might just get the hint they need to clean up and update.

Other reviewers comment that it's the best of limited options in Fresno and I would agree with that. However, I would also add that the staff - from the front desk to housekeeping - is on par with 4-star properties anywhere in the U.S. Very professional, friendly and responsive, definitely exceeded my expectations. For the price, this is a great place to stay in Fresno.

We reserved our room through http://Hotwire.com so we got a really good deal on our room.
The hotel itself has seen better days. You can tell it has been there a while but overall the room was very clean. The beds were comfortable and the staff in the lobby was friendly and helpful when we checked in and out. We had free wifi internet, a refrigerator and a HD Flatscreen TV in our room. You get a complimentary bottle of water, coffee and the local newspaper. Though it was too cold to swim there was a very nice pool area and jacuzzi.
It might not be my first choice next time I'm in Fresno but I would definitely stay here again. -
Review from Hilary P.
It's true - I spent last Saturday night in Fresno. I know, I know, who the hell goes to Fresno....and on a weekend?! Well, when my Wisconsin alumni buddy asked me months ago to attend the Wisco/Fresno State football game, I just couldn't resist. I mean, come on, lots of current Cali residents who honed their drinking skills in blustery Madison, football, AND Bucky the Badger at our tailgate?!?! How could I resist?! So when it came time to book our hotel we had decided that we're going all-out. After all, it was just one night so why not drop a couple hundred to feel posh for a night? Yeah.... apparently that's not allowed in Fresno - those hotels don't even exist here. Seriously, I researched like a mofo and found that this four points was the highest rated hotel in all of Fresno and only cost $120 for a Saturday night. Fine.
The hotel was nice - you could tell they try to slap the newer more contemporary "Four Points" touches over a not really renovated space but everything was still pretty nice. The Sheraton sleeper beds are always so comfy and I'm a sucker for curved shower curtain rods so we were content here. I guess it truly was the nicest hotel in Fresno and, if I'm ever drunk enough to agree to another trip here I'll make sure to remember that. -

I spent three nights in Fresno and chose to go with the Four Points By Sheraton this time. It is a step up from the "Comfort Inn and Suites" I stayed at last time for about the same price. The rooms are great, large and comfortable. I had a nice sliding door with patio furniture and view of the pool. I thought the fitness center was a bit small, and they could use a bit more variety of machines and equipment, but overall not bad.
The staff was fantastic, from the check in, to maintenance and housekeeping, absolutely no complaints at all.
The only thing I can warn you about is the neighborhood. What a great hotel in a crappy neighborhood. I went to get gas at the Arco next door around 9pm in the evening and was hit up for cash three times. When i went in to pay, I had to wait in line behind a bunch of "thugs" buying cheap vodka and tequila.
I would definitely stay there again, however, if there were a hotel equally as nice at the same price, I would probably choose that one if it were in a better area. -

I like that even a city like Fresno has a Starwood property. Really, I think this being Starwood is probably the only reason I stay here (or stay in Fresno at all).
The rooms are clean, beds are comfy, and it's your standard Four Points design inside. However, I'm not a fan of hotels with multiple buildings. Don't give me a map to find my room, and really I have to move my car? Balls.
But it's a solid place to spend the night. I just grumble when my room is light years away from the front desk. -

We were put in a nice room right by the jacuzzi. Super comfy bed. Clean room. Good coffee. Fully stocked sex drawer below Gideon Bible drawer. Fridge in the room. Wait what? Wrong hotel. Very good for the low low price!

4 stars!!!! What????? Ok maybe I'm overly critical since I used to stay in hotels about 250 nites a year for 9 yrs. First of all I'm curious whether any of the other reviewers saw the prostitutes walking the block! This is actually the 2nd time I've stayed here because it used to be the Ramada or something. I didn't recognize the address when I booked my reservation otherwise I sure would've stayed someplace else. When I drove up to the address I noticed the Dollar Tree and Home Buffet across the street and thought oh this can't be good. Then I saw they same broke down hookers that were on patrol 2 yrs ago on the corner. I pulled into the parking lot and said "Oh shit! Sheraton took over this dump? Wtf!" Four Points are always in nice neighborhoods and they are always nice hotels. I don't know what the hell is going on here!
Free Wi-fi........YIPPEE!
Lighting..........energy efficient bulbs which take a good 2 hrs to start adequately lighting up the place
Room size.....spacious
Furniture........def seen better days! there is a chaise lounge in the room and of course is was stained. Some of the furniture is still in decent condition and the other pieces were all banged up.
TV.....................decent size LCD
Decor...............modern furniture w/ the same wallpaper from who knows when
Bathroom.......mildew in the corners, shower head in dire need of CLR and way too low, needs some serious remodeling.
Towels........... c'mon what do you think? Dingy....yes, thin...yes, small...yes, someone else's hair found.......hell yes!
Bed..................I thought I was sleeping on plywood
Vanity area........spacious w/mini fridge, although it would be nice if they made the bathroom a little larger -

Front desk was inviting and when I stepped into the room, it was quite an update from the Radisson on Ventura.
Beds were more comfortable. The L-shaped table were spacious and the bathroom was decent, a bit smaller than Radisson.
The parking lot looked quite sparse, not very lit, and there was a school right next to our rooms. The room walls itself seem thin so it was quite noisy.
Free internet which was much faster than Radisson. HOWEVER, the LCD TV which I was one of the reasons I came here restricted access to have my XBox play. Yes, the front desk said they intentionally restricts you so you have to play their games...play their games is sure the right word.
I'm in Fresno...at least let me play my video games...sigh. -

Went as part of a convention and was assigned to this hotel.
The rooms are large and comfortable, but the air conditioning was not working and the days were hot. We did not have room service three of the four days we stayed. We had to call to get fresh towels.
The price is moderate but they do not offer a continental breakfast, so the cost is more than those that do offer it. -

I've stayed here for a few days when I first moved to Fresno. I've also been a guest more recently when my home was being remodeled.
All-in-all, it's not a bad 3-star hotel. You're not going to find The Four Seasons or Le Meridian in Fresno, folks. The rooms are clean and well-appointed, and the facilities include a small exercise room, a swimming pool, and a jacuzzi.
They've laid out the parking unwisely for the part of Fresno they're in. All the guest parking is right out on Blackstone, and the lot isn't all that well lit, making your car a tasty morsel for one of Fresno's approximately 10,000 car thieves.
The first time I stayed here I'd literally never set foot in Fresno before. The front desk told me to move my car to a more well lit area of the parting lot or else it might not be there in the morning. Welcome to Fresno.
The attached restaurant/bar could only be described as "interesting" on a Saturday night. The last time I stayed I was given a couple of free drink coupons, so about 8:00 pm. I meandered down to the bar to redeem them. There was a live band trying to make "Sweet Home Alabama" a disco number, a couple that looked like they were dressed for a night out on the Love Boat on the dance floor, and just loads of the freakiest looking human beings I've ever clapped eyes on in one place. There was one dude who was about 6" and couldn't have weighed more than 130 pounds, a couple of morbidly obese hootchie mommas displaying about six inches of thong-covered butt crack while picking apart a massive plate of french fries with their talon-like acrylic nails, a table of 40something gals absolutely slathered in makeup trying to act way drunker than they really were, and a whole host of other freakishness. For a second I thought I'd inadvertently walked on to the set of a David Lynch film.
It's not a bad place to stay, just keep away from the bar. -

Studio City, CA
I have to say, I was definitely disappointed when I read Tiffany's review about the ladies of the night posting up outside this place, only to find the parking lots empty of everything but cars. :)
Seriously, this place was not too bad.
Tiffany was right about just about everything else, like the lighting, furniture, TV, and micro-fridge area. I could have used a microwave since they didn't offer complimentary continental breakfast.
There is something wrong with the door keys. I tried to go to the gym (small but adequate for a hotel) which was in another building. I used my key to get into the building with the gym, but the gym door key reader de-magnetized my key, and wouldn't let me in. So I couldn't go to the gym, or get back into my room. I had to have my card reset 3 x before I could get into the gym and back to my room.
Guest services was really nice to me. I remember not being too bothered by the situation at the time, even though as I retell the experience it's hard not to sound pissed. -

A very very nice moderately ranked hotel in Fresno. Large, nicely decorated rooms with very comfortable beds and furniture. A very friendly and professional staff. I would definitely stay at a Four Points by Sheraton again, but hopefully I won't have to ever go back to Fresno haha. You have to pay a little bit more than the cheapest hotels, but it is definitely worth it. Highly recommend!
