4 reviews for Four Points by Sheraton Chicago O'Hare Airport
I am torn between two and three stars. I'm bumping it up to 3 because I booked a room on priceline for $40...yes, $40.
This is an a-ok place to stay if you need a convenient bed by the airport. There is a 24 hour shuttle service that operates between O'Hare and the airport, leaving every 20 minutes. That, in my opinion, is pretty great.
I think this is a place where proms/parties/weddings are frequently held, based on the other reviews and my own experience (loud drunk people) but thankfully I had a room far away from the action.
One negative: when I checked in (at midnight - wicked delayed flight), my original room had NOT been made up. WTF! They apologetically gave me a new room right away, and if the room wasn't so comfy I would've been grumpy. But the bed - oh the bed - so big and deliciously comfortable. The shower was also fantastic.
Moral of the story: if you can get a room for REALLY cheap online like I did, and if it is for a short stop-over, it's worth it.

Jeff: Not the nicest Sheraton I've been to. I don't know if it was a prom or a wedding, but there were 200 Asian girls in pink dresses swarming the place. I could smell people having sex from the hallway. It made for a difficult night's sleep.
Chris: Total chaos during check in at one in the morning. I think the entire wedding party was in the lobby. Overall it was a sad night because Ryan didn't stay with us and Patrick had to fly back to California and leave the tour.
Ryan: I stayed somewhere else.
I can understand a renovation. I can even understand the VERY drunk, VERY loud, and VERY obnoxious wedding party. What I can't understand is the jacuzzi water being opaque and smelling of spunk, the mysterious unguent smeared across over 20 feet of wall expanse leading down to the restaurant, and the makeshift entrance that screamed Chateau de Crackhouse, complete with numerous broken liquor bottles and about 12 cartons of smoked cigarette butts.
Not that I am especially classy, but this place was too dumpy, even for me.
Got a full refund without any kind of struggle, now what does that tell you?

I'm going to go easy on this place because it was obviously in the midst of a renovation. It would have been nice to know this before hand, but whatever. I'm not that picky and it wasn't like I was on a honeymoon or anything. The most frustrating part was arriving in the middle of an ice storm and having to cart my luggage through the restaurant because the main entrance was blocked off. Check in was quick and painless and the room I had requested was ready. While the hotel is a little rough around the edges, the room itself was very clean and well decorated. Service in general was also really good. After spending four hours in the car we were starving and in dire need of a cocktail. We ordered room service and in addition to being efficient, the prices were quite reasonable. I'd also like to give a shot out to maintenance man, who after seeing me have a near break down at the ice machine, volunteered to go to another floor and get ice for me. You're awesome and I really appreciate you delivering it to my room.
My biggest complaint about this hotel is the pool/jacuzzi. I specifically booked the Four Points for this reason. Given that I was anticipating a stressful weekend I thought it would be nice to relax and warm up in the jacuzzi. No such luck. In addition to having the tackiest jacuzzi I've ever seen, (blue and white fiberglass circa 1975) I quickly discovered that a wedding reception was going on directly across the hall. The floor to ceiling windows had curtains...on the hallway side. The result was a constant stream of drunks pulling back the curtains and peering in. Some smiled and waved and some just gave us the thumbs up. While I'm not at all shy, it was a bit awkward.
All in all, the Four Points O'Hare is a decent bet if you're looking for a place near the airport. While it is a few miles away and in kind of an odd area, they do have a shuttle. If you're looking for a place where you can enjoy a relaxing soak in the jacuzzi, I'd suggest you go elsewhere.
