I will first start off by saying that if you are going to this restaurant make sure you sit INSIDE. I'm sure It is a completely totally different experience if you sit inside. My gf and I had a reservation for 8p.m and unfortunately could not sit inside. Which was fine because it was a really beautiful night. Unfortunately it is in the Overtown Miami area (right next to the Corner Bar, Space etc), so the people walking around town on a Friday night, aren't exactly your model class citizens. Despite the shirtless man trying to cop a buck, and the wandering gypsy Caribbean princess who walked up and down the street at least 15 times and let us not forget the man who stole our waiters pen, we still enjoyed our food. Our waiter was a super sweet and charming French man by the name of PIerre. He initially wanted his pen back, but I guess common sense kicked in and he decided that maybe he shouldn't grab it back to then come touch our wine glasses. Major points for Pierre there. The sections were: Tomato and french feta salad + meatballs. Salad was incredible! French feta is so nice, not as salty as regular greek style feta. The meat balls were just ok, honestly nothing to write home about. We weren't really super hungry so that's all we got really. I will write home about the DESSERT. OH MY. I don't even need to really describe all I need to say is that they have rosewater and saffron gelato. I can't wait to go back to have the dessert again and to sit in the little french chateau style family dinning room, very charming, warm and inviting.

This is my favorite restaurant in Miami so far.

I highly, highly recommend the Local Burrata, the Cauliflower Salad, and the Kebab Platter. We cleaned the plates spotless and still wanted dessert which is where the pistachio ice cream really shined.

The only thing that I felt was a little bit of a misfire on our part was the Trio of Spreads. I love a good hummus and muhammara, but this trio was the only dish that didn't surprise me or feel unusually tasty.

The restaurant is small with some select outside seating, so I'd definitely recommend a reservation. If you're trying to walk in, early evenings on weekdays seems like the best bet.

What da Fooq! I'm a fan of this place located next to The Corner Bar in the Arts and Entertainment District.

I dined at Fooq's on a Saturday night. I visited with a reservation and was promptly seated outside (to sit inside I would have had to wait at least an hour, the owner David stated). Sitting outside, you will be able to enjoy a few homeless pass by, smell the smoke coming from the Corner Bar, and you may even get to experience the Miami heat.

As soon as we sat, we got a complementary bite which was fantastic. Here's the rest:
      - Crab cake: small to be shared and bland in flavor
      - MEATBALLS: a must! They are made of ground beef and Berkshire pork with San Marzano tomato sauce, parmigiano reggiano, basil and garlic toast. These meatballs are light, tender, and bursting with flavor.
      - BUCATINI AMATRICIANA: another hit probably because it is served with the same tomatoes used in the meatballs. Bucatini Amatriciana is a classic dish perfectly mastered.
      - Valrhona Dark Chocolate Olive Oil Cremeaux: great but extremely dense for me.
      - Banana Peanut Butter Jar: rich, delicious, and my favorite dessert at Fooq's.

The service was pleasantly attentive in explaining each menu option and providing us drinks when needed.

I loved Fooq's and I would recommend it for a laid back dinner. I would not bring out-of-towners here as they would be concerned being in this neighborhood. Remember to make a reservation and dine inside!

The restaurant is permanently closed now but I hope the owners revitalize the concept.

Let me start by saying that I've been wanting to come here for years and I'm sadly let down.

I knew it would be Persian food. And I love my Persian food. This Persian food doesn't taste quite right.

The only thing that I had that I really really liked was the Brussels sprouts.

      Other than that:
      -trio platter (hummus wasn't yum)
-kebab platter ( had to be sent back and re done- the kebab was not cooked right)
-ghormeh sabzi didn't taste like it's authentic self

The bread basket itself was 9 dollars. Most places give the bread complementary.

We ate everything because it was so pricy but I wouldn't come back if that makes sense.

This place was super pricy as well and the dishes didn't match.

I wouldn't recommend this spot. There are much better spots in Miami.

Some positives were the service was good lovely ladies.

I've always loved Persian food, with its rich, exotic blend of spices, reminiscent of Indian food without the heat. However, Fooq's menu, mixed in with hamburgers and pastas, makes me pause. But when I saw this year's spice menu features tahdig, I could resist no more...

Tahdig is basically the burnt, crispy layer of rice at the bottom of a cooking pot when you cook rice in direct heat rather than electric rice cooker. A peasant food from when not a grain could be wasted, its crunchy, nutty taste also makes it a delicacy.

My crispy brussels sprouts appetizer came in a very generous portion, large enough to be shared. Brussels sprouts is an easy winner, and this version is crispy, smoky, savory and loaded with flavors. Wish there's a bit more of the green yogurt sauce.

The entree summer khoresh is a layer of tahdig topped with veggies: sour cherry, onion, carrots and more. This dish is freaking de.li.cious!! I enjoy every bite of it, as every forkful seems to offer a new tasting experience, the herbs and spices sparking a new flavor here and there. My brain and stomach urges me to stop, but my hand and mouth just won't listen!!

For dessert I tried the chocolate mousse. It's very good, though part of me feels FOMO on the rosewater gelato.

Their wine list is rather eclectic with not a lot of popular labels and some uncommon varietals, which can be intimidating if you are not a wine geek. They have a few by the glass for about $12-16.

The two waitresses are very nice and super efficient. I couldn't finish my dishes and I'm glad that the to go boxes, which look like styrofoam, are made with recycled paper on closer inspection.

On hindsight, their Spice menu is not a spectacular deal, not much of a saving off its regular menu. Which I guess is good news for me, as I don't need a special occasion or excuse to be back!!

This is and experience ... come with an empty stomach and be adventurous. There are a lot of options. It's eclectic non traditional ... slightly Persian , slightly French with a bit American. There is definitely something for everyone and you won't be disappointed.
Service is fantastic... we came right at opening on a Saturday.
I had the Ghormeh Sabzi, a Persian dish that I wish k could have every day! It was that good. The rice was slightly Krispy and the burst of flavor from the chicken is like nothing you've had.
My husband had a pasta dish, it was comfort in a bowl and my kid had the most delicious fries.
This is a place that makes you want to come back over and over just to try something new each time. Definitely on my top list.

I heard so many good things about this place. However, it's a small downtown spot so be prepared to wait even if you made reservations. There is street parking, but if you don't find a spot you can park at the lot on the same block just make sure you are mindful of the time since there is a 2 hour limit and they don't use an app for payments.

The restaurant has interesting combinations. For example, the breakfast platter had lamb sausages than just the normal beef or pork sausages. There are no bottomless mimosas, but there is freshly squeezed orange juice that goes well with a bottle of prosecco!

The wait staff were friendly and did there best on a busy Sunday brunch hour. We also ordered the dessert that took a bit longer than expected, but the chef sent a complimentary dessert to square things off.

I had a really great time here! It is a quaint little spot, a true hole in the wall, the street its on can look very suspicious at night, but it is not really like that. I went for dinner, I made a reservation on open table about 30 minutes before I actually came, it seemed it wasn't absolutely necessary at the time but I recommend it because they can get busy all of a sudden.

We sat outside, the staff is very kind and they genuinley care about your experience and how you enjoyed the food. The waitress and the manager were very nice.

I got the Fooq's burger, it was one of the best burgers I have had in Miami! I got it without pickles, they advised me the fooq's sauce has dill and asked if that was ok, which was nice they didn't have too, I said of course that it was fine, they brought it to me on the side so I could taste it myself, she said she highly recommends it, I ended up adding it all to the burger it was so good! Not to mention an awesome fry dipping sauce too lol.

This is all I got I cannot speak to the rest, but my friend and I really enjoyed the burger. I will definitely be back here!

A family outing brought us to Fooqs. The food here was unique to us, but was really good. We all had something different to make sure and try as many things as we could.

I had the Steak Frites which was really flavorful and tasty. We also were able to tried the grilled Octopus which was small, but was also really good. We tried the meatballs, the burger and we also got wine and beer.

Overall it was a nice experience. The only thing about the place is that the location of the restaurant made it feel a bit wary and unsafe, since we were here at night for dinner. The area was not lit and very dark especially since we were here with elderly.

I heard good things about brunch, so hopefully coming in the day time will feel less wary and it'll be great.

At first I was scared to dine there because I had asked for an outside table and I really did not want to be on the side walk eating...but then they brought me to a really cute side garden that was peaceful and private.
Automatically fell in love! I love almost everything on their menu. I have came twice and haven't stopped ordering. They have unique flavors and choices for everybody. I highly recommend this way.
The service is great and the owner is the nicest guy. You must get the Brussels sprout!!!! The Brussels sprouts are spectacular, not like anything you've ever tried before. I will be back.
