We met Corey and the rest of the food on foot tourists @ Grand Central Station. The crowd was mostly international, which was fun since everyone mingled during our time together. This is no mistake: Corey moves around and chats with everyone.

That's one of the reasons this tour is so great. It's given by someone that does it because he enjoys food, the city and people. You aren't led around by someone recalling a script from memory, texting friends during downtime, taking you to places that "sponsor" the tour. This is the real deal.

The food was a good mix of savory and sweet. I don't eat many sweets, but wow -- the places we stopped were fantastic. I had something at every stop and wasn't disappointed with a single thing. Word to the wise: Do as Corey says and take it easy. It's a long tour with a lot of great food and you don't want to stuff yourself too early.

Corey's more than happy to offer restaurant recommendations, so you'd do well to schedule the tour early in your trip. We went on what was effectively our last day and probably could've avoided a couple of mediocre restaurants earlier in our trip if we'd had Corey's advice.

I'll definitely be back next time I'm in NYC!

Corey was great! My boyfriend and I went on the East Village tour. We had a lot of great food, and I had some things that I had never eaten before and didn't even know existed (ie knish and egg cream). Also, I was afraid that I would be forced to eat certain items that don't agree with my palate and then be scrutinized as the tour's party-pooper, but it was left up to us at each place what you wanted to try, or if you wanted to eat anything at all.  It was not at all intimidating. When I told my friends who live in New York about the places I went to, they were happy with what I had experienced, just confirming that Corey knowledgeably designed his tour around all the right places.

Although the tour is focused on food, Corey adds some general history about the neighborhood and the changes he's seen since he's lived in NY his whole life.

The other positive thing about this tour that I liked was the ability to not just meet, but interact with the others on the tour. On our tour, we had tourists from Western Europe, Canada, and other US cities. Since at each place you only want to eat a small portion to save room for the rest of the trip, you can split the food with whomever your travel companions are, or others on the tour, which breaks the ice if you want to get to know them.  But again, everything is very laid back and not intimidating, so if you are just interested in sharing food with the people you know, that's cool too.

One last awesome thing to mention: When the planned tour was over, one of the women on the tour wanted to find a great place for ice cream and was hoping Corey would not just tell her where a good place was, but also take her there.. and guess what? He did!! He invited anyone who wanted to follow them to get the best frozen custard, even though he could have just ended the tour as he normally does and sent her off with directions. But he added the bonus stop because he really enjoys what he does. And yes, the frozen custard was delicious.

Corey and Food On Foot Tours was a great find in New York.  We were there for a week and Corey's advise and tour made many of our most treasured moments.   We went on the International Food On Foot Tour about half way through our visit.    We came to New York for our Anniversary and Corey helped make the trip.  We had contacted Corey early to set up the tour, and he gave us a lot of advise of where to go to get good food for a reasonable price.  Then when we met up with Corey for the Tour is was icing on the cake.   It was a perfect way to get to see and taste parts of New York City we would never have thought of going to.   It was so much worth taking the Food On Foot Tours.   Thanks Corey Taylor!!!    Randy and Peggy Winkler  Green Bay WI   randy094@centurytel.net
