I really liked the owner, Rolando, as his commitment to detail;. I told them we'd be picky about the tile work in the kitchen. It was a new kitchen and the tiling would be the finishing touch.
They did very good work. But we noticed a day after paying that a few tiles were nicked. I called and asked why with left over tile they selected damaged pieces. They came back the next day and replaced all the pieces, and they wouldn't sign off until we were completely satisfied.
They're clean and efficient and honest. -

The outdoor balcony of my rental needs work. I was particularly concerned about the waterproofing aspect of it since there were living space under the balcony. I found Rolando on Yelp...and the balcony now looks great.
Rolando recommended the schluter system under the tiles for waterproofing. I did a bit of reading over the net on schluter and it seemed to be the right thing to do. While it is not exactly cheap, Rolando does excellent work. He returned call and email. He showed up on time and he worked around the weather (didn't I mention it was an outdoor balcony?). I live an hour away from the rental and Rolando was flexible about meeting up with me and working around my tenant's availability. What's more can you ask for from a contractor!
It has only been a week but it does look great! I would definitely recommend Rolando. -

I just got new tile floors in my kitchen and bathroom by Rolando and his guys and I am obsessed with them!
I am tentative about dealing with contractors but felt completely confident with Rolando and continue to feel that way now that the job is done. I gave him the keys to my house and he did the job while I was on vacation. It was a great surprise when I came home.
Here are some of the reasons that I really loved him:
1. He was so punctual. Even after I hired him he always showed up exactly on time for every meeting.
2. Of all the tile people I talked with, he was the only one who was able to organize and take care of everything involved. This included dealing with the plumbing and moving extremely heavy appliances and a clawfoot tub. Most others would help or deal with moving and lifting the appliances but I would have had to contract out and organize the plumber myself.
3. He gave very helpful suggestions about grout color that ultimately made my marble mosaic bathroom floor look much better (btw marble mosaic tiles at Best Tile are the cheapest I found anywhere including online and if you have Rolando install them I guarantee they look so expensive it is amazing)
4. He was able to deal with all issues as they came up in a contained and organized way. In a very old house like mine, there are many.
He tiled both the Dosa restaurants so he really knows what he is doing. I am definitely going to hire him when I need further tile work. -

We have a bit of history with Rolando and I'm happy to share my experiences.
Last year, Rolando and his crew re-tiled our entire outdoor deck. This wasn't an easy job given they had to strip the deck down to its studs and re-lay the concrete in order to fix the sloping of our deck. Rolando worked with us from start to finish and even my extremely particular mother in-law (aka Home Improvement Queen) praised his work. I agree that Rolando wasn't the cheapest to work with based on the other estimates we'd received but I'm glad I trusted my husband's intuition at the time to go with Rolando because "the guy seems to know what he's doing."
Fast forward one year later. We decided to replace our main bathroom shower pan and floor glass tiles (as we'd come to find out, glass tiles definitely look good but not the most ideal for floors!). In any case, we were remodeling two fairly large bathrooms so this was not a small job by any means. Which is why we solicited several estimates. Our preference was to go with Rolando but we thought it smart to get some other data points, right?
After meeting with the other tile installers, we ultimately decided to go with Rolando again (even though his estimate was highest!). The other guys we met with just didn't seem knowledgeable enough and also didn't really provide us with much guidance. It was also obvious they didn't work a lot with high-end materials. Given the magnitude of the job, we felt comfortable going with Rolando.
Both our bathrooms took a little over 2 weeks to complete and Rolando was there every step of the way. He came at the start of every day to give me and/or my husband an update and checked in with his crew throughout the day (as reported by my housesitting parents). I saw the other review here about Rolando being non-responsive and I'm actually quite surprised because he was always super responsive with us. And I'm not a very patient person!
All in all, we were very satisfied with the quality of the work that was done. Thanks Rolando! -

We had a leaky tiled shower in our master bath. We called upon Rolando Fonseca to essentially remove the tiled shower and retile it, including the shower pan.
He gave us good information before beginning the work, and as the work progressed. He kept us involved by explaining what work would be done each day and what the purpose was, and guided us through a few decisions; for example, one option would have involved removing some wood which might affect the paint of the wall in the adjoining bedroom. They would have repainted if we had the right paint color, but I wasn't sure about that, so we chose the other option.
More importantly, tiled showers are apparently fairly difficult to get right, but Rolando and his crew did a great job. There was a test leaving water in the shower pan overnight to verify there was no leak before an additional layer of waterproofing and the tiles were installed.
The end result is great! The shower looks very nice and doesn't leak. They even reinstalled the glass walls and door which they thought we'd need to contract with a separate company, and for what seemed like a pretty low price. The estimate was not the least expensive of the people we had talked to, but for the final cost he actually wanted to charge us slightly less than original estimate. In short, it was a great experience working with Rolando and I would gladly recommend him. -

We just did a complete bathroom remodel with Rolando and his team - and the results are fantastic.
It was a pleasure to work with Rolando. He took a very thoughtful approach to the project, from pricing to how our schedule and home would be impacted to making sure we were completely satisfied with the results.
He treated our property as if it was his own. No detail was too small.
Selecting your contractor is by far the most important step in a remodel project of any size. With Rolando, you get someone who knows his craft, understands how to work well with his customers and sees the project all the way through.
I hope to work with him again in the future. -

Rolando is great!
My wife and I made the decision to have our bathroom shower retiled about five years ago, but finally acted on it a few months ago. We solicited a few bids for the work, and while Rolando was not the cheapest he did come in with a very competitive bid.
We had a wonderful experience with Rolando, he had a very good vision for the space, while at the same time listening to our needs and working with our requests.
Rolando was able to complete all the tile work, the electrical, and the plumbing on time and on budget. There were a few curveballs that came with this project - including replacing the celing - but Rolando handled them professionally and in stride.
Rolando was kind enough to meet with us almost nightly to review the work that was completed and what would be upcoming the next day. The process made us very comfortable that the work was being done right and kept us up to speed on the timeline.
I will definitely use Rolando Fonseca again for future tile work and I highly recommend him to others looking for the same. -

Rolando just rocks!
I had a small bathroom that I wanted to put a deep tub in, new tub tiling, new floor tiling, new faucets, & Nuheat. His quote wasn't as low as others, but I could tell he really cares about his work, so I hired him.
The quality of his work is top notch. He and his guys are reliable, clean, organized, meticulous, and thorough.
We did run into a few issues (they accidentally went through the floor of the bathroom/ceiling of my kitchen when they were working on installing the tub), and we found that one of the fixtures I bought had a defect. In the end, Rolando took care of all issues to full satisfaction.
I wouldn't hesitate to hire Rolando again for another project.

Fonseca Marble & Tile regrouted our kitchen counters and shower floor/walls. Also recaulked our kitchen sink and shower.
This business was fantastic for various reasons:
*Gave a reasonable estimate and their final cost was an accurate reflection of the estimate
*Very professional with covering all wood floors with paper and tarps so that nothing was scratched or damaged
*Thorough clean up after regrouting & recaulking both rooms
*Touched up other parts of the shower walls for free
*Gave great follow up advice to best preserve the regrouting for as long as possible. -

Rolando is a very good choice for tile.
He is professional, considerate and passionate. It is very important to him that you are happy with the work. His price was not the lowest, but was quite fair and well worth it. (Some of the folks offering lowball prices were scary).
My new bathroom looks great. A friend who works for a high-end general contractor saw the work and asked for Rolando's information. I think that speaks to the high level of quality. -

Bottom Line: His price was totally fair....and his work is excellent I am very pleased and I recommend him for any project.
In late-July , 2011, there was a sudden and huge water leakage event at my house .... from the bathroom into the garage directly below.... . I had no idea where to turn....
So I turned to Yelp....and found Fonseca Marble & Tile. My good fortune.
After reading the excellent Yelp reviews for Fonseca , I called Rolando , the owner. I got a call-back right away....
Rolando was at the house the same afternoon, then he emailed me an estimate that same evening ... and we signed the deal the next day.
Because this was a complete emergency, Rolando rearranged his schedule a bit to help me out ...and started immediately.
He promised to go in... do the necessary wall + floor Demolition --correct some Plumbing ---& do the entire job of Tile-ing from the floors to ceiling in a week...and he did it! A massive job.
He and his crew are the best I have ever had working in the house.... Always on-time, efficient, cheerful , and respectful of both people and their possessions...inc noise, hardwood floors and pets .
Rolando worked very hard to make sure work flowed smoothly and correctly. He's talented and honest ..... His price was totally fair....and his work is excellent

First off, I want to acknowledge that we found Fonseca Marble and Tile on Yelp! Secondly, the pictures of the shower stall I have posted is the work of Rolando. The one with the 2-tone Porcelain Eco-Friendly tiles, multi-colored glass floor. Rolando Fonseca, who is the owner is not your ordinary tile contractor. I'd like to point out a few points that made our decision to use his services.
#1) His shoes were off before we opened our front door upon meeting him for the first time! Point is, is that he cares about your home as if it were his own. He has respect for the largest investment in our lives, our sanctuary. Each work day, coverings were brought in to cover the floors. Work space was always tidy and cleaned up after the end of each day. Shop Vac was always present and "on."
#2) He listens and explains! Unlike most contractors who think they know everything, Rolando has the patience to listen to what you want. If there is a question, and I had A LOT of them, he will answer them and make sure you understand the answer and also are satisfied with any explanation of the work performed. He is detail oriented.
#3) He's always on time. Each work day was on schedule with what was promised and explained. If he were running late because of traffic, he will call to let you know. My time was never wasted. His dedicated staff (Eduardo & Enrique) do not speak much English, but they know what to do and take direction very well from Rolando. Execution was spot on.
#4) Rolando is "hands-On" if needed. He knows what his staff is capable of and what their limits are. When it came to the detailed glass tile work required on our design, he came in to "do it himself." He has great pride in the work required. He always emphasized that if the work is not according to the agreement, changes will be made to correct them. Although we never had that situation.
#5) Aside from his excellent work ethics, Rolando is a "foodie!" He is quite knowledgeable of the SF food scene. He knows quite a few high-end restaurant owners. I assume it's because he has done quite a bit of commercial work for these establishments.
Overall, we are very happy with the work from Fonseca Marble and Tile. We did our due diligence to interview 3 contractors and we have had personal experiences in the past with other contractors. He is the BEST we have worked with. We did not choose Rolando because of price. We chose him because we always believe you get what you pay for.
Lastly, his dedicated plumber and Shower Glass company are also great!!

I am saddened and disappointed to have to write a bad review for Rolando. We were eager to work with him based on the great reviews here. I will simply share my experience and try to not make any assertions as to what may have been Rolando's motivation - as I cannot speak to that.
About 1 month ago we called Rolando to set up an appointment for an estimate to fabricate some granite for the counters in our kitchen and living room. He was very accommodating and came at the end of a work day to see the work and get the information. He seemed nice and certainly knowledgeable about the work. My spouse is an interior architect, and is also knowledgeable, which would make this an easy job. We knew what we wanted and were pretty straightforward in our request. I can definitely say, we are really easy and laid back people to work with; not demanding, no pressure, etc, We were also ready to accept any estimate he provided.
We had asked him to provide us with an estimate. After a few days, we did not hear anything. We contacted him to let him know we had found a great granite that we had put on hold and provided him with the size of slabs. We asked him to calculate how many slabs we would need, so we could order them. The place we held the granite is with a company that has done a lot of business with my partner over the years. A couple of days later we heard from Rolando - he did not answer our question about the slabs or provide an estimate. He told us he had a family emergency and would not be back for a week. No problem, we let him know we were in no rush, just be in touch when he returned.
A week later when he said he would be back we didnt hear, so we e-mailed him. A day or two later he got back to us and said he had extended his trip and would be back the following week. Again, we stated we understood the situation and all we needed to know was the number of slabs to buy. He never responded. We contacted him again a few days after he said he was returning to be considerate and give him some time. We wrote him and said we understood that his family obligations were important. We just needed to know the calculations for the slabs and that we could wait as long as necessary to do the work, but if for some reason he couldnt do the work to let us know. He told us he had too much to catch up on and couldnt do the work . OK, I understand. Granted it took a month to figure this out and he never did tell us what we needed to buy - we had these slabs on hold for over 3 weeks - we were only able to do this because it was with a business partner who was very understanding.
Next day after Rolando says he cannot take our work, a colleague tells us he spoke with Rolando, as we had recommended him several weeks earlier, before all of this. He asked Rolando if he would be available to provide an estimate for some work he needed started in the next 2 weeks.He said Rolando responded within an hour, saying he would be available. WTF?
Now, we trusted him and took his word, even though it felt like something else was going on and he was not being straight with us. After we heard this, we wrote him and provided him an opportunity to explain what had happened. He never wrote back.
We both feel very offended by the way we were treated. Why couldnt Rolando have been straight with us if he didnt want to do the work for whatever reason. We wasted a month having someone yank our chain. I cant help but to wonder why he chose not to take the work and not to be honest with us, but I will probably never know.
That' s our experience. Bummer.
As of 02/15/11 Rolando never bothered to follow up with us. No explanation, nothing. Wow.
02/28/11 and not a word. The end!
I am going to venture he had some homophobic reaction, so keep this in mind if you are not hetero... -

Rolando saved the day..and my dream bathroom too! After 3 months worth of remodel, my contractor pulled back the tarps to reveal tragic tile work on my floors and shower pan. Unbelievable!!
I interviewed several tile folks - two of them had the gull to complain and whine about having to come in and tear out / fix someone else's bad work. LAST THING I WANTED TO HEAR WAS SOMEONE OTHER THAN ME WHINING ABOUT BAD WORK! Rolando came in and felt my pain - even made me laugh about it!!
Rolando delivered. He and his team came in well within budget and rocked it out. My new dream steam shower and bath is no longer my worst nightmare....and the heated floors are so sweet!
Rolando - you will no longer be the clean up guy. The other bath remodel is yours! Thanks for getting me back to sane!! -

Rolando and his team do an amazing job!
They worked fast, they worked clean. They are friendly and trustworthy.
I am not done with Fonseca Marble & Tile by any means...we still have the kitchen to do, and I will hire Rolando to do the bathroom and shower tile at my business. But judging by the tiling they did in our bathroom in a matter of days (including changing out our tub!), I would be foolish to call anyone else!

Rolando did a fantastic job on our bathroom. We were able to collaborate with him to completely redesing our bathroom. He walked us through the advanatages and disadvantages of different materials and made sure we selected the products that would be durable yet look great.
The pictures posted here won't do his work justice, but the bathroom came out amazing. Very clean, modern and exactly what we were looking for.

First of all, thank you fellow yelper's for reviewing Rolando.
Rolando's bid for our rental unit bathroom was less than half of our other contractor's (who we've worked with extensively) estimate for exactly the same work AND it included materials. Rolando actually shopped for, sent us pics, ordered, purchased and installed materials that owners would typically buy themselves!
The bathroom is perfectly done and our tenants are thrilled. It did take longer than we initially talked about but Rolando did bend over backwards trying to start it when we needed it to be started.
To top it off, Rolando did this work for us without ever meeting us because we are in San Diego. He was very accessible. It was great!

We actually found Rolando through Destino. Because I eat at Destino's quite a bit he did the tile work for the bar.
We put tile up on one of our walls in our living/dining room and it turned out to be spectacular. Please see the pictures.
First of all Rolando was great! We had an idea of the tile we wanted but he told us to go to the tile shop and look around for the tile we liked. Once we found it, he came with us to look at it and then talk about the grout colors and what would potentially look good with it in relation to the colors in our home and the tile itself. He told us about the standard grout color used and what happens when you seal it, if we wanted to seal it, he basically gave us a crash course in tile, it was great!
When he started he also asked us what type of pattern we wanted on the wall and whether we wanted to start with a full tile on one side which would have left us with a 2 inch tile when it spanned to the other end of the wall or if we wanted to start with a split tile, so it would look more symmetrical.
As for the work, Rolando gave us an estimate, showed up when he said he was going to show up, finished when he said he was going to finish, and actually came in at his estimate (isn't that the way it should work). The job spanned over 3 days and everyday Rolando cleaned up the work area, left his stuff in the corner, and covered it so it wasn't noticeable. It was so nice because we felt so comfortable that we could just leave Rolando the keys and trust him with our house and that he would get the job done.
And also his recommendations were just that, he clearly stated that he was giving his opinion based on previous work and that ultimately the decision was ours he was just providing options. He wasn't pushy or pouty if we didn't go with his decision.
I couldn't believe the amount of effort Rolando provided for such a small job but he treated us like we were a big client and that made us feel really good. It's hard to find tradespeople that are
1. Honest
2. Dependable
3. Intelligent
4. Personable
5. Professional
6. Skilled at their trade
Rolando has all these traits and it was evident in our experience with him and his finished product. -

Rolando is a stud.
There are contractors and handymen who say, "your house is out of square so this is as good as it gets". Rolando said to us, "your house is out of square, I will work extra hard to make sure this looks great."
We found Rolando through Yelp and we are just thrilled. He came to our house for the estimate. He tiptoed over the white carpet, not even batting an eye when asked to remove his shoes. He gave us a reasonable quote. We bought our stone and scheduled a time.
This guy goes the extra mile to make sure the job is not only done right, but done exceptionally well. He made sure that all the pieces of stone flowed together, matching the patterns and worked with us constantly to make sure we were happy with the process.
When the day came for the installation, he apparently ran into some troubles on another job. Instead of rescheduling, he still came out that evening at 5:30 and he his crew worked until 10pm and came back the next day to finish the job. Also, when he came out on Friday night, he wasn't happy with how it was looking. So, he ended up knocking out an entire layer of brick from the old fireplace, re-leveling it, then laid the stonework in. It looks phenomenal.
He'll be getting all the stone and tile work in our house from here out.

Rolando is AMAZING! My husband and I recently bought a three unit building and upgraded two bathrooms, two kitchens, and installed gas fireplaces with tilework around them.
I interviewed 4 tile people and knew right away that I wanted to hire Rolando because of his great personality and fair prices. He ended up being like a general contractor for us, recommending and arranging a plumber and a carpenter who were also very reasonable and did a great job.
He worked quickly, was very professional, and left everything in imaculate condition. Most importantly, his tile work came out beautifully. I would give him 6 stars if I could! -

Finding Rolando to set my tile was a stroke of luck. In the middle of a difficult situation with my contractors, I needed someone to come in and set tile for the bathrooms in my restaurant. I found Fonseca Tile on yelp and with the rave reviews he had in his favor, I gave him a call. Rolando, as busy as he is, made time to come out and give me an estimate almost immediately.
His price was very reasonable and the quality of his work is fantastic. He and his team are very professional, conscientious, and do a wonderful job. He even took some time to show me what needed to be done to clean up the tilework that my contractor had done earlier.
He was generous with his time and genuinely cares about the end-result of his work. He was always on time and always made excellent use of his time. I would recommend Fonseca Tile to anyone looking for good quality work and reasonable prices. If I ever need more tilework done, I wouldn't call anyone else. -

Rolando and his team just finished our deck and front entrance and we're 100% satisfied with his work. So first of all, thank you fellow Yelpers for your reviews - they are the reason we ultimately hired Fonseca Marble and we're glad we did.
The first word that comes to mind to describe Rolando is "professional". He is reliable, on time, does exactly what he says he's going to do and knows his stuff. He protected our rosewood floors with cloths as he came and went through the house with tools on his way to our deck, very sensitive about our house in general.
I trusted him to be alone in my house when I was at work - and this is a very big deal for me, it took me 6 months to give a key to my house to our dog walker (okay, I've been robbed twice in my life so no scoffing at my paranoia).
But back to Rolando. So, aside from his great work ethic and professionalism, the results: our deck and front entrance look amazing. I am thrilled. Rolando was not the cheapest quote I got but I felt very reasonable and in the end worth every penny. Don't mistake this to mean that he is high priced, his quote was very similar to the others.
So in summary. HIRE Rolando. You will not be sorry. -

Rolando did an excellent job remodeling our bathroom. Rolando did it all; removing the old tile, construction to expand the size of the shower, built-in cupboards, installing new fixtures, and of course replacing the tile.
Rolando took great care with our home, he made sure to cover the floors with covering to protect them. He covered the doorways to other rooms to protect them as well.
Rolando's work was excellent. He made our small bathroom feel spacious and spa-like. -

Rolando of Fonseca Marble and Tile did a fantastic job on my bathroom floor tile.
Rolando's communication was excellent - he went through all the little nuances of the tile layout and gave good suggestions where needed.
My timeline for finishing the tile was crucial as I had folks coming into town and needed the bathroom - Rolando ensured that they were on time and did the job as planned. The work was done efficiently and everything was kept clean after the first and the final day.

We had a very challenging project replacing a cracked inlay bathroom sink with a slate slab countertop. 5 contractors felt they could do the job but only Rolando figured out the logistics and could give an accurate estimate of cost, labor, etc. He was true to his word. Since then, he has done other projects for us: interior painting, cleaning and resealing of the kitchen floors, tiling the bathroom backsplash, electrical work. He oversees everything and does not overlook any detail. He listens. His workers are on time, respectful, quiet and clean up after themselves everyday. The quality of their work is excellent. We highly recommend Rolando and his team.

Rolando and his team do fast, flawless, affordable work. We have a small (very small) bathroom that he helped give a mini makeover with subway tiles and beautiful stone tiling. The result is absolutely stunning. In fact, our bathroom is nearly unrecognizable and miraculously feels more spacious. What we also appreciate is that Rolando called us daily during the week and a half duration of the project to address any concerns and to ensure we were happy with the work. What a guy!
About two years ago, Team Rolando also designed and installed a basket-weave pattern walkway leading to our front door. It's so gorgeous and inviting that it makes leaving the house painful, but returning home such a joy. This is my first yelp review as I never usually take the time to write them, but Rolando inspired me to do so!
After calling around and getting quotes from several different tile companies Rolando was by far the least expensive and the most pleasant to talk to on the phone. All I needed done was to drill a hole in my kitchen counter but it was a somewhat hefty job as I have a thick, granite counter. When Rolando arrived he was prompt, professional, tidy, and a perfectionist.
I would highly recommend him to friends and anyone else needing tile work...I'm glad I found him.

I came to Yelp for a tile setter because the person I was going to use initially quoted nearly $10,000 to tile PART of a 6' x 9' bathroom. This was after calling and e-mailing the guy multiple times; I guess he really didn't want the job. Enough history.
I was skeptical about the Yelp reviews for Fonseca M&T - come on, nobody is that good. But, the reviews are true, Rolando Fonseca is the man.
Rolando was prepared when he came over to give me an estimate - he had his own tape measure, paper and writing instrument (yes there were others who were missing at least one if not all three). He gave a very detailed explanation of his process and a very thorough assessment of the project. He made suggestions that resulted in a cleaner looking product at a lower price; Rolando focuses on doing the job right both structurally and aesthetically. It is clear that he has an opinion on what looks good but will only voice his opinion if you ask for it.
Early in the process before I signed a contract, we had a difference of opinion on whether he needed a permit to do the shower pan - based on information from the building department he did but Rolando said he did not. Without a guarantee that he was going to get the job, Rolando went to the building department to talk with them - I know this because he called me from there and I spoke with the counter representative. A permit was needed but the plumber was responsible for getting it.
Rolando and his staff were professional, clean - they brought their own vacuum, and efficient. The tile that he recommended did not have bull nose so he and his staff fabricated it from the tile. I was at home the first couple of days that they were working - I wanted to see how they were going to tile some of the areas around the faucets, leaving openings in the wall to install the vanity, etc. Rolando was more than happy to answer all of my questions. The team did a number of things - large and small - that let me know that they take pride in their work and care about their customers. When the work was finished Rolando gave me instructions on how to seal and take care of the tile. He did a complete job.
The price that Rolando charged was in the middle of all the estimates that I received but the work performed exceeded the price. I can't imagine what the $10K tile setter would have charged if I wanted him to fabricate the bull nose. We have other projects in our home that involve tile and we will call Rolando to do that work as well.
DEFINITELY give Rolando a call. -

Rolando is fantastic - he just tiled our bathroom, which was a difficult job as he and his team had to work around our bathtub in a very small space. It looks so much better than I thought it could.
He left our bathroom looking great and while he was working took great care to keep the rest of our house clean and peaceful. My daughter stays home during the day with a nanny and was able to nap, play and have her normal life even with this project. With other contractors I've had to get her out of the house.
When we have more work, Fonseca will be the first number we dial. The team is courteous, quiet, professional, clean and just nice to have around. -

Rolando saved my kitchen remodel. Seriously. He swooped in after a tile and granite disaster by another "person" (oh yes, I have the worse than bad reivew up of the other guy). I was at wits end and sure the beautiful kitchen I envisioned was forever ruined. But Rolando came by, he made really good suggestions about how to treat the tile, he told us what beautiful tile we had chosen, he sympathized with us about the experience with the bad guy, he put up my new tile over a day and then came back several times to ensure it was done right and that it was properly protected. He compensated for terrible things the bad guy did, and he made the room beautiful. His workmanship is incredible, and he really cares about the job and tile. Plus he's great to talk to and he clearly knows his craft well. He is coming back to help fix the granite where the bad guy spilled something on it that won't come off. Rolando is our hero and we will definitely have him back for new projects like refinishing the deck and eventually helping us with bathroom remodeling.

I echo the previous reviews - Rolando was great to work with right from the start, and even though he does big jobs for restaurants, he is honest about his schedule and it was easy to fit in the work at my house. I had to replace the tile in my shower, so it's a relatively small job, but still required several trips. He shows up on time, charges what the contract says he'll charge, & does beautiful work.
What impressed me the most was that Rolando was able to take advice from my plumber without any attitude. There was an issue with the shower pan, but the whole thing was easily resolved thanks to their good communication. I'm so happy with the way it looks now that I bought a clear shower door to show it off. -

Rolando Fonseca is a true craftsman - his knowledge of materials is vast and the quality of work is excellent. He is a true tile pro!
He completed a very tricky partial demolition - removing a section of tile from a wall without damaging any surrounding tile or the wall behind it - prepped the surface and installed individually cut tile to match the pattern in the rest of the room, something my original contractor could not do. He was very thorough in prepping the site, protecting the tub and furnishings during the work, and cleaning up after the work was done, including hand wiping away footprints in the outdoor hall and stairs.
I was also very impressed with his communication throughout the entire process from my initial quote request to helping me source tile to managing his crew to job completion.
I will definitely use Rolando for my future remodels. -

Rolando and his crew did very clean and efficient work on my back patio and also did brick work for me on an exterior sidewalk. They finished on time and on budget without any excuses or unreasonable delays. They were diligent in clean up and an absolute refreshing pleasure to work with. I work in real estate and have given Rolando the thumbs up to many colleagues that I work with for jobs that they need completed in a hurry and within a certain budget.

I'm writing this on behalf of my 87 yr old grandmother, who hired Rolando and his guys to tile a sun patio that was leaking (originally just concrete). We were impressed with the entire process... from the initial estimate to finishing the job a day ahead of schedule. Rolando and his team were organized, clean, professional, dependable, hard working and did a beautiful job on the patio (looks and functionality as it was tested in the rain). He definitely goes the "extra mile" to make sure things are done right and that the customer is satisfied. They were all very courteous and Rolando himself is very personable. My grandmother can be a feisty and opinionated woman and she took to Rolando and his guys very well!

Rolando is fabulous! He tiled the my kitchen back splash in a matter of a day and a half, and it looks beautiful! I could not have asked for more. He and his crew were very professional, knowledgeable, neat, and didn't leave a mess. Not to mention the price was extremely reasonable...less than what I was expecting to spend. My kitchen is beautiful and Rolando will definitely be refacing my fireplace in the future!
