Review from Marc D.
Vancouver, BC
This is really an amazing little flower shop. They always have such a unique selection of items you can't find in other shops. It is amazing how much they pack into their VERY tiny little storefront. On the non-rainy days (ok, that isn't many - this is Vancouver after all!) they spill out onto the sidewalk with an intriguing collection of unknown wonders. They are always happy to discuss the origin and story behind each one with you, and also do a wonderful job of pulling together a unique arrangement.
I'm happy every time I walk by on my way to the Seawall!
Specialties
Since the 1984 start up of Flowers Unlimited, we have nurtured our relationships with local businesses, providing flowers for reception areas, private functions, conferences and milestone celebrations and for gifts to incoming celebrities, the president's anniversary, the birth of a baby to a staff member, the death of a relative or networking across the business divide. Or sending an expression to someone in another part of the world. As a full service florist, the human experience is our forte: empathy, sympathy, thankfulness, happiness, excitement, dreariness, forgiveness, celebration, congratualations, salutation, hopefulness,,joy, love. Human expression.
Out of these relationships, Flowers Unlimited, built new relationships with the staff of these companies and the people they were gifting until a business heading into its 25th year now serves these loyal folk. We'd be happy-happy if you'd join our throng.
History
Established in 1984
Out of his love for flowers, Claude Arcand gave up a corporate job to open Flowers Unlimited with his partner, Tom Serroul. They started out in a small hole in the wall at the corner of Davie and Richards Streets and then moved into 580 Davie within 6 months, where I found them in 1991. It was a serendipitous connection from the start, but here I am 18 years later, loving the business more than ever. Wonderful flowers and wonderful customers in equal balance....
Meet the Business Owner: Rosemary R.
With a background in journalism and editing, the last thing I would have expected out of an aptitude test from the UBC Women's Resource Center was to own a flower business. But life moves in strange and unanticipated ways to place you where your intention might not consider. So in October 1991 the UBC psychologist who coached me in this work transition advised that the flower business was where I would find my soul's fulfillment. And I did. The reward is that our customers think so too....
