The first time I walked into Giorgie's - he told me how they stay open until midnight because "you never know when someone might fall in love and want to give flowers." Sincere or not -- i thought it was good.
In addition to knowing flowers/plants, he's so friendly and so is his staff. The best of all - you can get fantastic bouquets for reasonable prices....including one my boyfriend got me...I accidentally saw the receipt....but my reaction was 'wow, that's all he charged you?!" -

I stopped by Flowers by GIorgie on my way home from work one day to buy a succulent plant for my apartment. The staff there is very helpful and knowledgeable. They have a wide selection of plants, flowers and supplies for your gardening needs. I bought a ceramic pot to replace the plastic one that the succulent came with, and the staff did it for me. No mess in my apartment brings joy to my heart!
I'll definitely be coming in here regularly! -

Flowers by Giorgie is one of many florists in the area, but surely one of the best. Surrounded by shelves and layers of flowers, small plants, and specialty greens, this place is hard to miss in this busy section of Sunnyside.
Though I'm not actually sure which person I've consulted with is Georgie, virtually every guy here has been helpful in advising a type of plant for all sorts of occasions from house warmings to hot dates. They have given me great insight in taking care of the plant and choosing ones that are good for people who suffer from allergies. This is especially important since they have such a wide selection that for plant novices like myself, it can be very difficult to know where to start.
If there is any knock, is that some of their bigger plants don't come cheap. I've had better luck at other florists for heavier plants and cheaper, but Flowers By Giorgie knows how to treat their customers well enough for us to come back. -

Flowers by Giorgie - OR it should be called PLANT DOCTOR!!!
It must be said I DO NOT have a green thumb.. but Giorgie (aka plant doctor) does! And he has been very patient with me and all my plant problems...
His store is beautiful, colorful, green and luscious.
He took care of my mother and I (we are not easy people) we have a lot of annoying questions and he answered us with ease.
I also noticed that he remembers peoples names for example: a women walked he said "Hi Karen I did your wedding flowers"....SEE!!!!great rapport , good prices. Check it out!! -

I needed to pick up a simple bouquet of tulips today for an event I was helping run. Thanks to Alex S's review (and the lack of tulips at the other 4 places I called) I decided to give this place a try. I called ahead to make sure they had what I was looking for and the gentleman I spoke with was very helpful - and remembered my call when I came in to purchase the flowers.
The store is quite large for a flower/plant store, at least compared to the ones I've been to in Woodside and Astoria. They seemed to have a wide variety of bouquets, plants, and planted flowers of all sizes. You could totally outfit an apartment with greenery galore. I ended up with a gorgeous bouquet of 10 orange/red tulips for $7 - they also had more expensive kinds for $10 and lots of color variety. Great hours too - open till 9PM on a Sunday! I'll definitely be back.
