Five star is definitely the way to describe Flemings. Everything from the food to the decor is over the top, but elegant at the same time making it clear this is not your average, everyday, run of the mill restaurant. Flemings Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar is located in the heart of Winter Park and is known for their top grade cuts of meat and seafood, as well as their vast selection of wines. This is the perfect place to go for a romantic date or a special occasion.
My boyfriend and I chose this place for our first year anniversary dinner and it was perfecto! The atmosphere and ambiance were set by the dim lighting, white table clothes and candles lit on each and every table...setting the mood nicely. As expected, the wait staff are top knotch and treat you like royalty. Their knowledge is impeccable when it comes to the wines and food on the menu. After ordering drinks, everyone receives a platter with melba toasts and various spread. Although I'm not big on steak, I felt obligated to order a filt mignon since we were in a steakhouse. It was AMAZING! It practically melted in my mouth and was cooked just as I asked...as rare as you can get. I've also had the scallops and fish, which are equally as satisfying. My boyfriend ordered the T-bone steak and loved it. All items comes a la carte, meaning you order the sides separately. I highly recommend the potatoes and asparagus, but all of them sound yum-o.
As far as wines go, this place has all of the best name brands including my favorite, conundrum. If you're not sure what you want or what you like, the waiters can guide you on your decision. For desert, the chocolate cake is the way to go! It's so moist with a gooey center...like heaven in my mouth!
While we were there the first time around something quite funny happened...although it wasn't very funny for the person who this happened to. Apparently one of the valet guys broke the shifter on a guest's truck. Clearly not a good thing. I'm not sure what came of it, but the guy was obviously pissed and probably got his meal for free. Just be wary of this when you go. Their parking situation isn't the best and you really don't have a choice but to valet.
Overall, this place gets an A+. Definitely experience Flemings at least once if you can!
I had a lovely meal at Fleming's. To be honest I think Morton's is even better but for the price Fleming's is likely a better deal. They have a price fixe menu that is a fabulous deal! That's the route to go unless your heart is set on something else. I thought the food was very good but not astounding. The French Onion soup was missing something like red wine - depth. My steak (very surprisingly since it is a steakhouse) was not cooked at all how I ordered (medium rare) but it was very good. I am not really picky anyways on how it is cooked. The banana brulee was fine but not cooked quite right - not firm enough. The side dishes were the really nice surprise! Creamy, spinach, mac n' cheese were great! The best thing about our experience was the service. Like none I have ever had. If you go check out Danielle - she would make the Waffle House an experience to remember!
I was a skeptic, but Flemings stacks up as one of the best steakhouses in Orlando. They actually decant your bottle of wine at the table. The prime rib was some of the best I've ever had and was so large I had to take the rest of it home. The attentive servers take an interest in making a personal connection and a memorable dining experience for everyone at the table. Ten times better than Houston's and more exquisite than Del Frisco's, the only place that even comes close to the quality of Flemings might be Ruth's Chris.
First and foremost, this is a pricey restaurant. I was here for a birthday and so warranted the expense but I certainly would not be able to frequent the place. That being said it was a decadent experience. We were seated right away on a Saturday night and I got a good look at the place. It was definitely what I would imagine a fine dining steak house to resemble. Dark wood, white table cloths, pristine cleanliness, and a no fuss decor great for closing that multi-million dollar deal. A regal bar stood at the front of Fleming's with a few TVs and a few singles enjoying dinner and cocktail. The lighting was elegant and we were soon presented with, no not a complimentary bread basket, but instead a cracker and vegetable platter with some really tasty spreads. This was exciting and I enjoyed it immensely as I perused the menu settling on the fillet mignon. The sides, I was told, were built for 2 so my dinner companion and I decided to split the cheesy potato casserole dish. We also had wine, I had a Riesling and it complimented my meal nicely. When the food arrived my mouth was watering. The fillet was smooth as butter and the potato's were an enticing side. Our server was friendly, not as stiff as you might imagine for such a place. I had to doggie bag up half my meal and it was done so grandly. I would highly recommend Flemings for the beef lover on a special occasion or even just for the heck of it on payday.
