A wonderful house! This was the highlight of my short trip to the small but beautiful harbor town of Astoria. The volunteers there were warm and gracious. The house itself was incredibly gorgeous and interesting, with many antiques reminiscent of what once was, but is no longer. The history behind it was intriguing and mysterious. I enjoyed the short video we got to watch before touring the house, and the gift shop was great. I really hope to return here soon, as I feel I didn't get enough of this town.

I enjoyed my trip along the Oregon coast, and this museum added greatly to it!

Have you ever been to the Pittock Mansion in Portland? Yes? Okay, then, no need to come here. It doesn't quite compare. And this is coming from someone who geeks out over old houses and history and empty rooms with old furniture.

If you want to go inside and walk around, you pay $5. Not bad. But the house was just.... fine. Semi-interesting.

It's beautiful from the outside. And free.

I have made two trips to Astoria, and plan to come back again. The first trip we made here we toured this house. It is beautiful and huge. Interesting architecture, and has alittle bit of that haunted feeling. It is a must see while you're in Astoria. Also you can check out places from scenes of a few movies, like Kindergarten Cop, and the Goonies, and alot more.

Can you imagine how Howard Hughes lived the last of his days? You can feel yourself going eccentric in the head as you barrel around in this mansion. Very interesting architecture, winding stairs, 14 foot ceilings, spooky and beautiful. Well worth a visit. Can you beleive they were thinking of turning this into a parking lot? I am so glad people appreciate heritage ahead of parking now.

A very cool old house, and worth the tour. It is a pretty short tour, and the grounds are beautiful (which you can tour for free). However, this is a tour you will only do once, that is enough!
