Your typical neighborhood Mexican restaurant. It's clean, the food is good, the prices are what-you'd-expect, and it's dependable.
The chips and salsa here are freakin' terrific too.
When people with kids visit me, I take them here! When my husband and I want sit-down Mexican - we go here!
Not bad at all.

My wife loves this place and now so do I. She used to work next door to it, and it has great food, quick service, hot toasty tortilla chips, succulent salsa, and great margaritas. The combinations all cover the plate. I love the Chili Rejeno and beef enchilada. This place is always alive with business, but you don't have to wait too long. I don't give it 5-stars only because I reserve the 5th stars for unique and gourmet experiences. This place is really great and I highly recommend it.

I'm absolutely torn between 3 and 4 stars. Allow me to expand upon my dilemma.
Flamingo's is a charming Mexican joint that's been in this random shopping center for forever and a day, only beaten in longevity by the Claim Jumper across the way. It's lovely inside, with an oddly heartwarming blend of Mexican countryside and big ass plasma TVs. It's almost like 2 or 3 mini-restaurants in one with how it's laid out, which makes for outstanding ambience -- especially when you frequent the 'other' 'Mexican' chains and realize that you're having a conversation with 100 other people in the same large room. Not here.
There is a scant lunch menu that, for actually a pretty decent deal, has a tiny variety of Americanized selections -- hard taco, soft taco, chile relleno, enchilada, taquitos, etc. etc. Although I prefer my Mexican joints a little bit more Mexican, I do have to admit that I thoroughly enjoyed my carnitas soft taco. It was gigantic, well spiced, well cooked, and the accompanying rice and beans were actually pretty delicious. Both my dining companion and I practically licked our plates clean (although we were also starving, but that's besides the point).
I do have to acknowledge the chips and salsa awesomeness, both in quality, flavor, and speed of service. Our food and check came out in a timely manner, but I do have to say that out of, I don't know, TWO total tables that were there including us, the guy(s) handling our drink refills could have been a bit more on the ball. Needless to say, I was desperately wanting to dock this place for that as well as lack of 'real' Mexican fare. But come on! This is south Orange County, bitch! There is no honest way this place would be such an enduring mainstay in this local landscape if they didn't cater to the masses. The food is good, the prices are right, and everything else falls just into place.
P.S. Check out the board and times for happy hour and daily specials. I should have just ordered from there, but I don't regret what I ate. It was tasty!!!

It was here at Flamingos that I realized where I inherited my love & expertise for good chips and salsa.
My mom and I tore through 2 baskets of chips and 4 lil cups of salsa like nothin Then she critiqued the 2nd batch of salsa, stating it wasn't as good as the first batch and I was totally thinking the same thing before she even said it; that was such a bonding moment, you have no idea.
I love the pink flamingos all over this place, it's like a trailer park threw up in here and I like it!
The food is edible, I give it a solid 3-stars. But the fact that one of the hombres that worked here rescued us from an invasive lil fucking bee that decided to come and kick it in our booth warrants an additional star.
I actually have good memories of this place from many years ago. I recall telling an old boss to shove her Mercedes up her ass during a work-lunch here when she announced we wouldn't be getting a bonus since they needed to spend the money on a client appreciation party.
I like to believe they fired me because the request I made was truthful since her ass was actually big enough to fit a Mercedes up it.
I'm all about the truth!

See ya later Baja Willies and Acapulco. Now that we have moved to South County, we needed to find some good, close Mexican food. Mission accomplished. This restaurant sent us a "Welcome to neighborhood, $10 off postcard" which is all I needed to try it. My wife and I hit it up on Saturday night, after a long day of painting, yet were promptly seated and attended to quickly.
I grabbed a margarita which hit the spot and we both ordered fajitas. I love me some fajitas and this place goes above and beyond the usual place. Some places don't give you sour cream, or cheese, but this place gives you some of everything. I like that! Options a plenty. My wife got the chicken and I had chicken/steak combo and we both enjoyed them. The chips were nothing special but decent and the salsa was very good. Great, fast service too.
Walking out we noticed Enchilada Mondays (all $2 each) and Taco Tuesday ($1.50 each) so this will be a place to visit regularly. I guess its been around for 9 years and has quite a loyal "regulars" following.

Keep searching there are much better Mexican places. Food and atmosphere wasn't great. I know family and friends who have gone and continue to go every tuesday. I've gone at night on 'Taco Tuesday!' and for lunch. Yeah, great, tacos are $1.50 on tuesday...but the place is packed. Food is mediocre. Everytime I come here all I think about is leaving. The waiter is a little weird and the bar tenders are not on the up and up. I didn't notice students as much as middle class middle age people people who live beyond their means trying to be 'hip' and 'down'. I love the 'old' men but jeez this place is pathetic. I guess that's Laguna Hills...
This is my favorite Mexican restaurant. It is kind of expensive though They don't give you much alcohol in alcoholic drinks from what I have experienced.
All the waiters and waitresses are friendly and the service is good.
I recommend the sizzling steak fajita. They bring you the meat and peppers sizzling in a pan, and give you the rest of the stuff separate so you can make your own fajita. All that's included is tortillas your choice of flour or corn, sour cream and guacamole, Spanish rice, shredded cheese, re-fried beans, and lettuce. (Plus the meat, sauce and peppers)
...And of course not to mention the refillable chips and salsa.
Tacos use to be $1 on Tuesday 5 years ago. I am going to hit this place up when I go back home someday. Fatty is hungry.

This is such a white persons version of Mexican. If you like Baja Willies, El Torito and Acapulco and think that is GREAT Mexican than this is the place for you. Other wise forget it exists. vertually tasteless greasy Mexican food. They have good margaritas but are in these tiny little glasses for 6 bucks. My firend and i both had the Big Juan burrito and what a money rip off this was. In swear they put the same amout of stuff as the normal burrito in a larger tortilla and call it a something else and charge you more money. The wait staff are not frendily at all and do as little work as possible. Don't go on taco Tuesday the place is a mess and filled with high school kids a reall mess. Never going back not for me

i went to flamingos for the first time ever last night. my friend always raves about their veggie burrito.
the burrito was fantastic, you would think a veggie burrito is so simple and easy, but no. i cannot tell you how many times i have been let down by burritos with weird mis-matching ingredients or lack there of. the chips and salsa were great. our waiter was a little on the way-too-sassy side but i guess that made the meal memorable.

Now I've only gotten two things here and they're both excellent. Great iced tea and I often crave the pickled carrots they serve with the chips and salsa before you're served your entree. The taco Tuesday is nothing special for me. Service is excellent with a few expected mishaps from time to time.
Taco Tuesday BABY!
This is just good Mexican food! Chips and Salsa Rock. Awesome Flamingo Rita. Family style Mexican food with great prices. Check out the special board when you go in always something good on there. Family owned and the service is good and staff is friendly.
