Review from Casey R.
Every once in a blue moon I get food from here while at work. Usually someone else picks it up, but we always have a good experience. Yesterday when we went to order I noticed the new "app" which makes it even easier to order for pick up. They also now offer a veggie sandwich on the menu (used to have to special order it) so that a big improvement.
The service at this one seems to be prompt, they always have the sandwiches ready and grab the fries when you get there.
Because I am a vegetarian I haven't ever tried the burgers, but everyone I know likes them. Their fries saved me from a lot of bad hangovers in college so I will probably always like them. -

I really love this burger joint since it is as close to fast food organic as you can get... I guess. Until something better comes along my family and I make this our go to when we want something fast. As the menu says, no fillers and preservatives and that's very important to me. I try and feed the fam as much organic as possible. That's why this place is more expensive.
Besides, when we were desperate we went to another fast food burger joint and I was astounded at how expensive fast food is. Shouldn't it be less than $20 for a family of 3?
Don't get me wrong. We go every few months. It's not like a weekly thing so when we go it should be a treat.
Just an FYI to all the haters of the employees, there is a pick-up window. However, I would have to say the food is erratic. I've had fantastic burgers and other times it has been lack luster. The spicy fries especially seem to be problematic. -

Our Fav hamburger joint, very pricy but when u want a burger like you'd make at home this this the place to be. Always good!
I like that the menu isnt overwhelming wig more stuff. Just the fixins and Fries.
This place is always clean and quick moving. I just wish staff would be more outgoing pleasant. Where is the Service in the service industry? Smile people.....
Perhaps I'll start dropping hints. Everywhere not just here.
Good food. -

I love this place! When the string of fast food restaurants on Baltimore Pike ceases to impress me (or makes me sick), I go to Five Guys for decent burgers.
For one, every burger is made to order. Can't do anything about doneness (they're all cooked medium), but I'm happy with the fact that I know my burger hasn't been sitting under some heating lamp for three hours. Two, great selection of toppings that are FREEEEEE. Three, I love the steak-cut fries that are also done fresh.
You must be aware that their standard burgers are made with two patties, so if you're not up to it, make sure to order the smaller one.
Bonus points for being open late! -

I became a 5 Guys groupie back in 06 at this location.....
This is when I tasted the greatest fast food burger ever......
I have been coming since... This place is clean and service is great! -

I love burgers, so I have been to Five Guys a decent amount. In my opinion, their burgers are better than your average fast food joint burger, but I wouldn't say that they're out-of-this-world good. The service and quality of the Five Guys chain are spotty, so keep that in mind. I think that the burgers are a bit overpriced, too. So, if you're interested in an above-average burger on the expensive side, try this place.

While I'm reviewing local burger places I may as well discuss Five Guys. I don't think it will come as a surprise to anyone that their food is not good for you. That said:
1. They have a humongous list of toppings you can select, including many that you would be charged for elsewhere, like mushrooms.
2. They have a board where they write each day where the potatoes for the fries you're eating came from. Pretty cool practice, but they still come from Idaho most of the time.
3. Nothing is ever frozen, so points for that.
P.S. Probably the messiest burger I have ever eaten. And if you only want one beef patty, make sure to order the junior or mini or whatever they call it. The regular burgers have two. -

Burgers are good but I'm not sure why they are so expensive. It's a fast food burger. The orders are very large so two people can split. Restaurant is very clean and the employees are great!

This is a chain so I would think this review is independent of the location of which I am writing. The burgers are pretty solid, but nothing ridiculous. The bun was soggy by the time I sat down due to the overwhelming amounts of grease. The fries however, when served fresh and piping hot, are awesome. I stopped talking to my lunch mates to eat the fries and refused to respond until they had cooled to the point where there were marginal returns to shoving my face full of freshly fried potato fantasy.
Note: I said this place was not good for kids because you are paving the way to child obesity with a place like five guys. That's just irresponsible parenting. -

For "fast food" burgers you can never go wrong with Five Guys. Hands down the best "fast food" burger I have ever had. Surprisingly- their veggie sandwich is really good too! Love the peanuts they have for while you're waiting for your "fast food."

Don't waist your time. Unfriendly, miserable employees who do anything but tend to the customer. I went there and asked to change my order, 30 seconds after I ordered....they all laughed. Expensive, below average food, that makes you feel sick. There are tons of better local burger stops, charlies or Zachs. Again, don't waist your time or money. Horrendous.

I'm down with 5 guys. It's pretty reliable and hasn't let me down yet. Suprisingly good hot dogs too. It loses points for being a chain and having very little personality but overall it is solid.

What is all the fuss about? Big sloppy half decent burgers and fries that are "dead" more often than not. I don't get it, people seem to love this place, I would say keep going right on past. Not worth the hype.

Five Guys, Burgers & Fries! I had often passed by these chain restaurants, noting the pleasing rhyme-y name, but I never stepped in until tonight during a rare drive into the suburbs.
Five Guys exists for those moments when you crave a burger, but the idea of McDonald's makes you feel dead inside, and a real bar and grill (with waitstaff, menu, etc.) seems too time-consuming and formal. In fact, Five Guys is a bit like McDonald's must have been in the days before Ray Kroc turned it into a cost-efficient food factory.
Short-order cooks grill fresh burger meat while you wait--nothing is frozen or pre-cooked--but all the patties are uniform, with the only variation coming from the toppings you order. Within five or ten minutes of your order, you get a bag with your burgers wrapped up in foil and a cup stuffed with enough fries for two or three people to share. A "Little Burger" has one patty, while a "Regular" has two. While the sesame buns are reminiscent of McDonald's, the meat is certainly more hearty and real.
The location we visited was clean, spacious and nearly empty, with very basic interior design of red and white checks. A white board announced that the potatoes for fries that day had come from Idaho. The walls were lined with positive reviews of Five Guys food from Zagat and elsewhere. The staff is friendly enough, especially in comparison to the miserable-seeming staff of most fast food joints.
Have I had more delectable burgers in my life? Certainly. But this one hit the sweet spot of quality in relation to quick timing and low price. While the burger came quickly and conveniently, with no frills, I knew it hadn't been sitting in a freezer for ages. I'd visit Five Guys again!
