Three Steps to The .49 cents (total) breakfast buffet for three:

1. You and your G-Friend/Lover Etc go upstairs and join the Player's Club. You separately show them a Players card from another local Casino, using separate addresses and they give you each a crisp $5.00 bill and a coupon for $3.00 off a meal and a free Breakfast Buffet Coupon.

2. Leave the Casino after getting your parking validated but prior to Gaming a dime.

3. On you way out of town bring in any under age Kid (who will eat for free), present your Buffet Coupon. Have your partner pay the $8.49 fee for their un-free breakfast by handing your partner the $5.00 bill and the $3.00 off coupon. They will need to remit the .49 cents

Now everyone in your party will enjoy the fantastic breakfast fair at Fitz for a whopping $.49 cents. As you leave drop off any extra coupons with the other diehards there because it is good Karma for you and the Casino. You are authorized to throw one dollar into a machine on your way out the door and only stay until that dollar is depleted.

I use to love the Fitz when you had to cross the little bridge over the train tracks but now I love it because it is just an awesome place to do whatever......

Over the years I have made many deposits, never a withdrawal so now I will collect my winning in swag, sin and food.

I'm writing this review based on my experience with their website.  I went on to reserve a room for a couple of days for the Best of the West Ribfest Cook-off...it's an annual event at the Nugget- I went last year and actually met the Love of my life in the bar at the Fitzgerald.  So I decided that we'd go again this year...to the same hotel as a year anniversary.

The website is chintzy and hard to navigate.  I called the office to tell them that I was having problems booking a room and the woman who answered assured me that I just needed to figure it out for myself since I'd get a better deal online anyway.  I went ahead with some of her suggestions....and didn't actually get a confirmation number after I was finished with the order.

So I made another call and there were two bookings for me.  They went ahead and canceled one of them.  Not 20 minutes later, someone used my credit card to purchase equipment from Sprint/Nextel.  What I'm saying is...for a multi-million (I assume) dollar business, they should be able to afford proper security for their website.  I'm still in the process of waiting for phone calls from the appropriate people at Fitz's to discuss....They def get no stars at all for their service in following up on a serious matter.  But I had to give them two stars for good penny slots and for bringing me to my Boo....

UPDATE:  they ended up upgrading my room (couldn't tell a difference) with an EXCELLENT view of the train!  They had a live band, we lost some money...dealer's were okay- slots were tight.  Gave them one more star because I did enjoy my stay.

The buffet (free for the inconvenience of getting hacked - $22.00 for two people) wasn't HUGE but it was overwhelming.  I get confused when there's too much to choose from.  Fresh salad bar, eggs benedict, omelet bar....corned beef and hash..RIBS.etc, etc...

With the luck of the Irish or Feng-Shui, Matt O'G appropiately came to the Fitzgerald on the eve of St. Patrick's day, in hope to get his money from the Fitzgerald's Pot of Gold back and have fun.

This casino is not too big and is only one-level. Matt wanna played craps, but there were only one crap table available and it was packed. So Matt had to settle for BlackJack once again. Since March Madness is still occuring, the minimum bet is $10.00 for a  single-deck of cards per hand. And with the luck of the Irish, Matt did get some of his money back and left immediately, while he is still "Hot". Matt was nice enough to give his dealer a tip, although he was nowhere like the dealer Matt went to lunch with. The casino were understaffed on cocktail-waitresses, with only one working , so after Matt's winning he went to a corner store and bought a bottle-water to extinguish his "hot" winning!!

Cheap but kind of crappy casino.  I recommend the El Dorado across the street instead.

Don't bother eating here- the service at Molly's is deplorable.  We've actually waited for 30 minutes for a waitress to take our order before.

Fitz' has penny slots (I played the Star Wars-themed video slots a lot) and 50-cent roulette.  The dealers are faded and jaded... you can tell they want to get off work soon.  Or die.

Fitz is real cheap though.  And it's a very short walk to El Dorado, where you'll probably end up eating.

This is review of their buffet.

It is better that I don't review the casino...I lost a bucket of nickles there.

A small buffet, but that didn't matter to me. What I liked was the $12 for all you can eat DUNGENESS CRAB! Not that frozen Alaskan stuff. I threw those and some "peel and eat shrimp" on my plate and was in heaven.

Hey, where in San Francisco can you get a crab sandwich for $12, let alone all you can eat legs?

I would have given more stars, except for the lack of variety, and the fact that the other food was a little blah. Oh come on though, this is a Reno buffet, not exactly a class act.

Some of the saddest, unfriendliest, shifty-eyed dealers (jackals) in town.  Crappy slots and video machines covered in ashes and dust.  Very dingy.  However: a great place to pick up on 40-year-old alcoholic single mothers with acne scars.

Very pleasant accomodations, we had a deluxe room that was spacious and a great view of the city lights from the window.  It was quiet, comfortable, prices were very reasonable and I would definitely stay here again.  The only disappointment was their Buffet was closed for maintenance, but there were plenty of other options around.

When we were here in the middle of December the boiler went out and we couldn't take showers all weekend and there was NO HEAT... and all they could offer us was a coupon for dinner and extra blankets....

Oh and the water in the sink was brown the first time I turned it on. GROSS!

The slots were alright I liked the Monopoly game...  I did well at the "loose" dollar slots at lucky lane but then I got greedy...

I'd rather stay at Circus Circus.

The old Fitzgeralds Casino & Hotel is no more. Unfortunately, it has closed as of yesterday. Read the sad news on one of the local TV stations. I feel very sorry for all the employees that are now unemployed and are now looking for new jobs. At least, they are getting some help from management. Some help is better than no help.

As I said in my previous review, it is being turned into a boutique hotel. So no more casino. Perhaps no more buffet restaurants. The Fitzgerald web site did not state what the new Fitzgeralds will feature.

The Casino is pretty much my version of Hell.  As for the Buffet - not too shabby.  For a mere $11 you get the basics plus crab legs and peel n' eat shrimp.  Sweet!  Also good desert selection.

oh, fitzy. you treat me so well. what, with your smoky interior, flashy slot machines, sassy cocktail waitresses and haggard dealers. i don't mind spending hours playing your tables and dodging furtive glances from your pit bosses. you are the dive bar of casinos, and that is why we get along. i mean, that whole 'rub my blarney stone for good luck' at your entrance?  brilliant.

lovin' you, fitz.  reno wouldn't be the same without you.

The room rates are pretty good, but the casino/hotel is not the best. Service was great at the front desk, some slots are okay. The train right next to the casino woke me up about two times at night, I ended up only have about 4 hours of sleep. Go to El Dorado, Silver Legacy, or Grand Sierra Resort.
