A special on the day I ate here was a steamed soft shell lobster, fries, cole slaw and a pickle for $13. Or something outrageously inexpensive like that. Yum. I ordered a crab roll, which was amazing. Very crabby- not too mayo-y. The bread was delicious. The potato salad was eh. My bloody mary was fabulous. The shrimp cocktail was not as good as I hoped it to be, as the shrimp tasted like it was frozen. That, or overcooked.
I came here for the second time for a rehearsal dinner. I had selected the salmon. It was served with cranberry sauce, a baked potato, green beans, and salad. It tasted like hotel food. Not much flavor, the fish didn't taste much like anything (very bland), and the green beans were soggy. The best part of the meal was the chocolate mousse dessert. Now that was pretty good.
The last time I came here was on a visit to the bar. I just had a beer. The bartender was very rude, and seemed irritated it was so busy. Before the wedding, we all stopped in for a drink before boarding the boat to take us to the wedding location. I'm sorry, but when you live in a tourist driven town, and work in a tourist driven establishment, just be nice.
All in all, an okay place to grab a bite. Get the crab roll!
This is one of the better sit-down restaurants in the area, though really not comparable to any city restaurant. The chef is excellent, but the ambiance is a bit too dated and casual for the fine dining it aspires to be. Great deck for drinks and apps in the late afternoon, though.
