I really enjoy coming here. This bayside bar has a different feel than Seacrets or Mackys. It is right next to the docks where the fishermen roll in off the bay. It is compact but in its compact space, it has several different areas where you can relax and have a drink. The big goal is to grab a swinging chair.  The main bar is under the covered deck and can get a bit crowded. If you want to have a conversation, tuck away into the palm trees and grab a swinging chair or picnic table.

They actually make fresh Orange Crush drinks here and they are tasty! Fresh squeezed orange juice just makes the drink...and perfect. The one thing I really look forward to is their coconut shrimp. It is a crispy, brown coconut covered jumbo shrimp on a skewer. Yum.

The parking lot is huge and the street parking is easy, too.

Fish Tales is a little hard to find for me since it's not directly on coastal highway, you have to take a turn and then another turn...very difficult for a female driver :)

I love the mood here. You can eat outside, right on the beach! The kids meals come on Frisbees so they have something to play with after wards!!! Cool! I really like the shrimp appetizer thing. Spicy but yummmmmy!

The best part about this place is the coveted swings. They have the most comfy swings to just lounge and drink in! I can't wait to go down here again!

We went there last night with four kids age 3 and under and 4 adults, which means the adults were outnumbered.  We got there around 1830 and had a one hour wait.  The playground there with the large pirate ship is awesome.  That kept the kids entertained for about 30 minutes and then we just walked along the dock and looked at the boats for about another 30 minutes.

The staff there was quite friendly, including the bouncers, although service was SLOW.  Our waitress never came by to refill our drinks and never brought my sugar for my iced tea.  The place is extremely kid friendly and once the kids were finished eating they just played in the sand.  The kids' meals were a tad bit overpriced, and the food there is sort of general pub grub, but overall not bad.  I certainly recommend this place, especially if you have kids.

Took my family here for lunch and the playground.  The food was good, but a bit overpriced.  I paid $23 for 3 smallish pieces of fried chicken and half a rack of ribs.  The kids meals were good and reasonably priced.  My daughters got the fried fish and chicken tender meals which came with smiley fries.  The fried fish was awesome.

The real reason we came here though was so the girls could run around the playground.  There is a large pirate ship for the kids to crawl around on and the day we were there a woman was doing face painting for free.  Most everyone gave her a $1-$2 tip though.

The service was good once our server finally got to us, but the place was busy.  I had a few draft beers which came in small plastic cups which were maybe 10oz or less per pour.

Later that evening my wife went out with some friends to Fish Tales while I watched the kids back at the hotel and it seems this place is better for nightlife than for lunch during the days with the kiddies.  She had a good time and said the bar was busy but had a good atmosphere that didn't include some of the young d-bags (obnoxious 20 somethings) that hang around OC.  Also, there is a $10 minimum on credit card purchases at  the bar.

Love this place. If  you have little kids this should be your first (and last) restaurant choice in OC.
We ate there about 6 PM on Saturday 6/11.
The friendly hostesses told us the wait was about 1hr 45 mins but offered a pager. The bar staff which was crazy busy nonetheless let me know I could order anything off the menu and have it delivered to us at the playground. The outside seating area is a fake beach right on a dock on the bay and there is a large pirate ship play area that the kids just loved. Plus there was free face painting there too.
After about 45 mins of enjoying our kids playing under the hawk like watch of a young woman named (I think) Tatiana the pager let us know we had a table ready. The waittress (Mariah) was wonderful. The food was delivered fast and hot. Prices (for Ocean City) were very reasonable. We had an app, 2 adult entrees, 2 kids meals served in frisbees for I think about $55. With the exception of the yellow fin salad (this doesn't taste much different then tuna salad from a can) the food was very good.
    Highly recommended.
    Check it out.

After Seacrets didn't accept my friend's permanent residence card as valid ID we headed to Fish Tales instead.  I'm actually happy that we didn't get to go into Seacrets or else we wouldn't have experienced the awesome food and drinks at Fish Tales!

EVERYTHING was delicious!  Especially the jambalaya soup, fish tacos and sweet potato fries.  The tiki torches, swinging chairs, sand, music and frozen drinks all added to a great night.

Ok, so we've been trying for a few years now to find a replacement 3rd dinner restaurant in our itinerary, ever since our beloved Crabber's Cove closed.  Fish Tales is probably the best we've tried so far, and we would definitely go back.  Still not amazing, but really good.  I am not quite sure *why* there is over an hour wait - I know there's a wait everywhere in Ocean City, but c'mon, Fish Tales isn't particularly better than a lot of other places...???

However, that being said, at least the wait was pleasant!  They have lots of nice benches scattered throughout their dock area, and it made for a perfect place to chill and read a book and watch the sunset.  Helped that we ordered a couple of their really wonderful drinks to sip while we waited.  Highly highly recommend the cocktail made from fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice - all of their drinks were really delicious, but this one - wow.  So yum.  :)

The atmosphere and the sunset and the drinks are really the reasons to come to Fish Tales.  The food was fine, nothing incredible.  Except the sweet potato fries, which were just as delicious as everybody had said.  :)  Our server was absolutely wonderful - amazing in the slightly chaotic enviroment, she was attentive and friendly and chill and down to earth.

Fun, casual place but food not great except the Zuma sandwich which my kids loved.  My teriyaki shrimp salad had no taste.  More of a place to hang out and drink or have your kids play on the pirate ship.

This is probably one of the best all around restaurants in Ocean City. Casual place with its tables in the sand on the bay side of ocean city right at the Bahia Marina so you have a nice view of sunsets, boats and the water. You can also bring your boat or sea doo right up to the dock here and refuel on gas. They also do rentals here.

    Atmosphere
There is always a wait here and for good reason this place is great for everybody. A couple friends came here with their kids and they have a pirate ship as a playground and they love it. They have hammock chairs and a lounge with a fire pit in the back. This is a great place for everyone.

    Food
The food is here is awesome and not pretentious. They have a great menu with good selection. They even have lobster mac and cheese! Their sweet potato fries with honey mustard is awesome! As is everything on their menu. I recommend their seafood selections I have had fish tacos, seafood burrito and their conch fritters are among the best I have had outside the Caribbean.

    Overall
This is a place to relax, come with kids, come with your friends. Its really a great overall place. As I mentioned it is always crowded so expect a wait. Only thing it isn't is a nice quiet romantic spot. So if you are looking for that this probably isn't it. I really like their lounge and hammock chairs. If you have to wait just head over to their bar or back lounge. If you come to ocean city this is definitely one of the place you should come to along with Seacrets, Fagers, General Kitchen, Thrashers Fries, Liquid Assets and Island Cafe. I was hesitant about eating at Fish Tales upon seeing the armies of screaming children running around the playground/pirate ship and the muscle milk-infested security guards but was gradually converted into a full-fledged Fish Tales believer.

The service was attentive and extremely polite despite the loud music and crowded (drunken) bar patrons; and the food, oh, the food. The food was heavenly! My mom and I got the fish tacos and my girlfriend got the seafood burrito and both entrees were fantastic. The portions are immense and the prices were fairly reasonable.

As the night went on, I began to see Fish Tales not as my preconceived interpretation of a kiddie version of Seacrets but as a joyous and exciting hidden treasure nestled into Ocean City's beautiful bay.

Bottom line: If you don't mind a wait (which you shouldn't if you've been to OCMD before) and don't mind the resulting sound effects of fifty-cent natty lights and a pirate-themed playground, Fish Tales' food and service are undeniably of the best within Ocean City's rich and diverse dining scene.

This place was packed with firefighters (convention had just come into town) which isn't a bad thing unless your preferred choice of company is hot girls. They were really crowded but the bar we got our drinks from seemed a little slow, plus the one bartender talked to his barback like a child at one point. Being a bartender myself and having barbacked in a busy place I would say from experience that if you treat your help horribly they are more apt to do a worse job for you. I also heard him snap at a couple girls when he didn't get their drink order right. He said, "she said rum and coke, if you want Malibu and coke I'll give you one but YOU'RE GONNA PAY FOR IT." I know when I'm working I can be quite direct with patrons in certain situations but this guy took it too far, especially when the screw up drink was a rail rum n coke, c'mon buddy!! After trolling around the place, which has definitely grown a lot over the years, we decided to move on a to place that wasn't crawling with firemen and their 'ol ladies.

One of the lesser known and off the beaten path bars in OC which is good because the crowd doesn't usually get ridiculous like at Seacrets or Fager's.  Well, except during Bike Week in September...

The second best sweet potato fries in the world behind Iron Hill Brewery, but the honey mustard is to not be believed.  My personal favorite is the Rock and Roll sandwich.  (Broiled rockfish on a kaiser roll.)

Try for a swing seat or table on the sand.  Also, try to catch the guys cutting up the fresh fish at the marina which is pretty cool.

This was probably my favorite place on our last OC visit.

We went for dinner and waited happily at the bar, for 50 minutes before being seated.  After downing some tasty libations, the hostess finally led us to an outdoor table nestled in a sand floor.  Our waitress gave us the best service I think I've ever received, in addition to making some amazing recommendations.  Everything we ordered was great and reasonably priced, but I think the kicker was really the atmosphere.

We were able to dig our feet into the sand, while watching the sun set on the bay.  Though the table limit is one hour (until 9 or 10pm) from the time you are seated, if you go for a late seating, they'll let you linger as they set up the tiki torches for the late night crowd.  Honestly, I felt like the partner and I were on a first date again - it was absurdly romantic in a not so likely atmosphere.  It was...very california.

Even for day drinking, I'd prefer to hang out here than seacrets - though it's nowhere near on the same size/craziness scale.  If you get a chance, take a minutes and stop by FT.

This is a must-stop place in OC if you have kids, and want to have some peace while drinking something with coconut and rum and umbrellas and crap in it.

First, they have a giant play area for the kids with tables all around it, and it's fenced.  For the older ones, there's an arcade.  And the plates for the kids meals are frisbees.  So that takes care of the troops for at least an hour.

Now for the generals overseeing the troops.  After a long day's battle on the boardwalk, you want to sit, eat, and drink.  They do all that in spades.  The food is above par -- I had a cheesesteak that was stuffed full of peppers, mushrooms, onions, and most importantly MEAT.  My long-suffering wife had the fish tacos, and pronounced them excellent.  Kids had fish nuggets, which were actually really darn good.

We also had the conch fritters as a starter, and they were excellent.  They didn't have that weird fishy taste that speaks of frozen or not-fresh conch -- they were very flavorful and generously portioned.

They also make a mean mojito with 10 Cane rum -- perfectly sweetened and with plenty of mint.  Just the right thing to sip while watching your two year old attempt to climb off a ten foot tall pirate ship.

We first tried to go on Sunday at about 5pm, but there was a storm coming in and there was no indoor seating available.  If the weather had been cooperative, the 5pm hour looks pretty safe.  So we tried again and went on Monday, at 1100, and it was nicely uncrowded until about noon, when people started really showing up.

Went w/ the GF last saturday during our annual trip to OC. This place was great. Although busy we didn't mind just taking everything in while we waited for a table. Two bars, view of the bay, a dock. It was relaxing. We grabbed a couple drinks at both bars. and by the time we finished our second round our table was up.

Don't expect plates here. everything was served to us in plastic baskets with liners, which I didn't mind. we ordered conch fritters, steamed clams, steamed shrimp, sweet potato fries, and fish tacos. everything was great except the conch fritters. They left them in the fryer too long.. other than that we had absolutely no complaints. Well.. that and one of the bartenders were rude.

Biggest sell for me was that I got to see a shark being hauled off from a boat.  It was great. Great experience overall.

I'm a big fan of this place!  A really chill environment as far as drinking spots in OC go.  It's got what you need.  Cold drinks, good food, a playground for the kids, and a friendly staff!

I like their cheesesteak, their muscles were FANTASTIC, the conch fritters were delicious, I like their motz sticks (beer dipped!).  As far as drinks go, its about what you'd expect in OC, except with a really awesome locals night!  50 cent beers?  SOLD!

A great place to take care of your hangover from the night before, or to ruin your next day with one =)

We had a decent dinner here I got the rock and roll dinner rockfish, potatoes,& corn on the cob. The food was really good just felt to me like a small portion. My bf got the rock and roll sandwich that was also rockfish and chips which was good also.  We sat outside in the sand. If you don't like kids running around kicking up sand around your table then it's a good place to sit. I wish they would separate the two. This would be my  only grip for seating. The staff is very friendly and professional with pleasant personality.  The wait on weekends is really long 1hour 45 min we came back on a monday around 6 for dinner and got seated immediately.  Check this place out, If you have kids definitely  check it out.

After spending the day catching some rays on the beach we wanted a fun meal so off we went to eat in the sand on the bay. Fish Tales is set in the center of Ocean City's sport fishing headquarters.  The offer something for everyone- they have a kids play area, drink specials and food.  Be ready to wait however:  we got there around 7ish and had a hour and 45 minute wait till it was our turn to sit- but the view, food and atmosphere is worth it.

I had the SEAFOOD BURRITO ($14.99)- combination of shrimp, crab, scallops, and cheddar cheese stuffed into a warm sun-dried tomato tortilla, topped with a mild enchilada sauce and sour cream on the side. Served with a chilled black bean and corn salsa on the side.  It was very good however it was a bit on the dry side.  The taste was good and there was lots of crabmeat.  I do feel they could add more of the other seafood.  The salsa my favorite salsa and was sweat- but it was average.

My Husband had the ROCK & ROLL DINNER ($18.99)- a large rockfish filet fried to perfection. Accompanied by garlic roasted potatoes and corn on the cob.  The fish wasn't overly fishy or strong and the potatoes had perfect seasoning.  The filet was huge.

The 14-year-old had CHEESEBURGER ($8.99)-8oz. of char-grilled, prime Angus beef, cooked as you like it, with cheese.  The burger came perfectly cooked at medium-well as she ordered it and was huge.

I saw the JUMBO STUFFED SHRIMP ($24.99)- colossal shrimp stuffed in to a bread bowl with our own house blend of shrimp and crab dip topped with cheddar cheese and baked to perfection. Served with fresh veggies and garlic roasted potatoes.  The presentation was great and looked wonderful!  Next time I want tot try this!

Overall, the food was average but I will be heading back to wiggle my toes in the sand and watch the boats.  They also have an extensive drink menu.

Definitely a fun place.  I went with a small group and we sat at the bar outside.  It was cozy and not too loud.  The service was good, but to be honest, one of my group was friends with the bartenders, so that never hurts.  We got the conch fritters as an appetizer and a few fish meals for dinner.  It was all yummy, and the drinks were well-prepared, too.

I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a casual and fun night.

I love Fishtails during the day, after a looooooooooong night spent at Seacrets!! I always end up here the next morning, for some much needed bloody mary's and some food to cure my nasty hangover. The atmopshere is perfect for doing just that.

I always find myself sitting at a table in the sand overlooking the bay, with a cold drink in hand, a BLT in front of me, reggae music, and good company, and life is GOOD!

I love just hanging out and lounging around. The hammock chairs are a little piece of heaven. I need one in my back yard. The service is good. The only complaint I have is that they are super annoying about id's. They card you once, but then will card you again, and again, and finally give you a wrist band. Hellllllllo isn't 1x enough!?!?

Anyways I'll never let those pesky bouncers stop me from my favorite hangover cure, bottom line Fishtales is a great place for lunch, drinks, and just a nice chill time. Can't wait to go back next summer!! :)

I had the seafood burrito which I was definately hesitant about but it turned out brilliant in the end! I was with a large group and there were rave reviews all around!

One word:  TERRIBLE.  Ordered the mussels with asiago cheese "sauce".  I got ice cold mussels with ice cold marinara dumped on them.  they were OBVIOUSLY not cooked to order, and brought straight out of the refrigerator.  kinda silly in that mussels take like 2 minutes to cook.
My wife had a BLT.  TERRIBLE.  again, ice cold bacon.  they couldn't even fake it and microwave it.  almost inedible.
could barely get our waitresses attention but when we did she took the mussels off the check and we suffered through the BLT.
Perhaps we caught them at the wrong day, at the wrong time, or perhaps should have simply gotten something straight out of the fryer.  my bad.

We hung out and had some drinks and  the Orange Crush was one of the best drinks I've ever had. It was delicious and very easy to go down. After two of those, going on the adult swings were a blast. The best sweet potato fries I have ever had! Very family friendly, but weak drinks and bad service. We came by early evening for a quick drink before going out for dinner. If you aren't ordering food, you can't sit at a table when they have a wait. Apparently, fries don't count as food :( We left the craziness of kids running around and headed out pretty disappointed (except for those incredible fries).

FISH TALES never FAILS! This outdoor marina/restaurant/bar is a good time. During the day I find it relaxing. The staff is laid back, the food is fresh and the specialty drinks are de-lish. At night music and tiki torches light up this outdoor adult playground. This year the combination of an icey Orange Crush, good company, great food and atmosphere has inspired me to get my boat license.

This is our favorite place in OC -- you can go here with two little boys (2 1/2 and 4) and EVERYONE will have fun!  My oldest loves the pirate ship playground, and my youngest loves walking around the marina looking at the boats.  If you come around 6:00 in the summer, you might see the fishing charters coming in with their day's catch, which your kids will love.

The food is fairly good (not excellent, but very good considering you are in the culinary vacuum that is OC), the service is excellent, and EVERYONE from age 2-80 will have fun here.  If you have kids, wait for a table on the beach, so you can eat and still keep an eye on your kids climbing around on the pirate ship.

Fish Tales is fun for drinks with friends, for dinner with kids, or anything in between.  If you want to eat, go early (before 7:00) or expect to wait!  No reservations, but there is lots to do while waiting for your table.  That said, it probably isn't worth it on a Saturday Night, as it seems that everyone with kids staying in OC tries to go there.  This is the ONE place we always have to go while in OC!

We stumbled on Fish Tales at lunchtime on our first day in Ocean City. What a find. A varied menu with moderate prices, and a fun ambience combined to make it our destination three times during our 5-day stay.

Many families with kids enjoyed the tables set in the beach. An indoor seating area helped us avoid a long wait. If there's a wait, strolling around and looking at the docked boats is a great way to pass a few minutes.

At night, the crowd tends toward 20-somethings who are there to drink. But even at 8:30, families having dinner at tables on the torch-lit beach were clearly having a great time. The service is extremely friendly and the servers most accommodating.

The crab salad in a sun-dried tomato wrap (not on the Kaiser roll, as suggested) was a treat. The fried oyster Po Girl was fabulous, and there was great flexibility in ordering. Even the mozzarella sticks were delicious.

Certainly not fancy, but just what you want after walking along the boardwalk or enjoying some of Ocean City's many mini-golf places.

What a fun place to head..... Fish Tales is located at Bahia Marina on 21st Street.  Great view of the bay (awesome place to watch the sunset!)... watch the fishing boats arive with their catch, and take the kids!  They have a pirate ship there that will keep them busy for hours... so, sit back, order a tropical drink, and let time pass by.... order something from their menu (they have great food) like mini crab quesadillas, conch fritters or go for it and enjoy their awesome take on the fish taco!!!!!!

I have been going to this restaurant for more than 10 years and it is a shame that it has gone from a great local restaurant to some kind of tourist trap.  Since I have a beach house only a couple streets away my family and I love to drive the boat right up to their docks go eat.  But now a days if you want to sit down and eat you have to wait 2 + hours and its packed to the rim.  Its not a relaxing place anymore.  The food is still good, the fresh fish and shellfish are always good.  If you can afford to go super early for dinner (around 4pm) than it is worth a try.  You should definitely not miss it if you are already in Ocean City.

This was a fun little place to stop and get some lunch while in the OC area for a weekend. The food was very good, especially the calamari and the sweet potato fries! The drinks was great and the service was mostly on par. There were a few times we could have used our waitress but didn't see her around, which is why I've only given 4 stars.

I do miss the old Fish Tales.  It used to be a great place to go and relax.  They had  a wonderful waitress named Tammy who doesn't seem to be there anymore.  Maybe it is making more money now, which is great, but it just doesn't have the same friendly atmosphere and service that it used to have.

I went to Fish Tales for the first time ever on a Thursday night.  We went there with 10 other people so we had a looonnnggg wait ahead of us.  They told us that we would have to wait for an hour and a half, so being the restaurant of choice from one of our peers, we decided to wait. While we were waiting we of course decided to drink some beers which were not to badly priced ($2 a draft for bud light).  An hour and a half passed us by and two hours sneaked up real quick.  Finally we were able to sit down and unfortunatly not altogether (tables next to each other).  It literally took 20 minutes for the server to come to our table for drink orders.  Yes they were busy but the server even came up to us when we first sat down to tell us that we were her only table and she would be right with us.  Most of the entrees were pretty pricey, so I went with the calamari (appetizer) and the 1/2 pound of steamed shrimp.  When we finally recieved our meals i was satisfied with the steamed shrimp for how can anyone mess that up real bad? The calamari; however, i was disappointed with for on the menu it said it was lightly dusted with breading and when I recieved my order it was DEEPLY fried and very greasy.  At the time I ate it with no regrets (the beer had a lot to do with that, plus how long we had to wait in general), the next morning I did not feel so well ( that had nothing to do with the beer).  A couple of other people from our group also said they did not feel good the next morning either (they had no alcohol at all by the way), and they also had deep fried stuff such as the flounder and the popcorn shrimp.  So i am not sure if it was the oil they fried it in or just a coincedence, anyway I would not pay nor wait as long as I did to eat there ever again.  But if you wanted to go hang out there to drink a few it is a great atmosphere on the water and they had decent priced drinks ....

The service was good, the atmosphere was fun but thats about all I can say this place has to offer. Everything we ordered was terrible. The food was typical for this type of place. I never plan to return unless it is at night for drinks ONLY.
