I've only been here once since it reopened in Jan 2008 as Bangkok 580 Thai Cuisine.
Located somewhat across from Long's Drugs, the restaurants that have occupied this building have all been delicious but they do not get the attention that they deserve.
Now it is Bangkok 580. I was very happy with the service I received, and the value-priced lunch (free soft drink and included a cup of soup) was delicious.
The Pad See Eew was made with incredibly wide noodles and sizeable broccoli crowns. Personally, I would like the broccoli to be chopped so that it would be easier to eat.
*** The fried bananas are still here! ***

First Thai Hut is my first choice for Thai food in Castro Valley. I eat Thai food at least 2 times a week. My all time favorite Thai food restaurant is Little Home Thai in Pleasanton and I searched far and wide and longed for something closer to home for 9 years before . My search has come to an end. Their Green Curry, Panang Curry, Red Curry, Ginger Chicken, Spicy Noodles are all perfection. And if you feel like being extra bad, check out their samosa's. It's true the temperature can rise pretty quick with their food, but if you tell them up front to keep the spices down, then it's not a problem. I do this all the time for my two toddlers, who also love the food by the way. The owners are very hospitable!!!

I'm a Thai food junkie - and this is the best Thai in the East Bay by far. Castro Valley - not known for it's great restaurants - has a winner here - wonderfully fresh, hot food - great service - cute "home" ambiance - Pad Thai - 5 star; Thai Hut Fried Rice - 5 star - Fried Bananas - out of this world. You'll be pleasantly surprised - it's reasonably priced and you can park right out front!

This place is a staple date location for my girlfriend and I. We actually ate here last night as well...
Good food. Weird music. Nice owners. Clean walls and bathroom. (seriously--you know what I mean with a lot of these little restaurants). The one thing I don't like about this place is that their green curry is pretty different than any other Thai place we've been, but alas.

first thai hut has closed.
Only so-so Thai food...
Very heavily spiced and extremely sweet sauces. Good quality fresh veggies are a plus but the sauces kind of put the damper on them. Also rather pricey for what you get. There are better Thai places. Try Lime Leaf in the Castro Village or Thai Garden over on Mission (Hayward-San Lorenzo border).
this business first opened sometime in dec/jan? its located by the famous trailer park of castrovalley. but don't let its lack of location fool you. the food is great. the place is lovely, although i must say not many customers come in. its quite hard to find but its worth it all. the service i would say is rocky, i guess it depends on who you are served with. overall, food is good.
