I have been to several churches on this island and the place that I felt most at home was at this church. It's not over crowded and I can take my little one in service. They do offer childcare if you want a break from your child. The people are friendly, the church is very family oriented and Pastor Dan Chun is awesome. I love his sermons. The church is beautiful and you can hit a coupe rounds of golf afterwards if you feel like it. Definitely would be a golfer's church. I'm sad to say that Pastor Jim Miller left the church to be a take on the position of being a head pastor in California. We will truly miss him and his wonderful pastoral counseling.

Update 12/25/2007:
First Pres sold their old campus to the Catholic Charities, and bought the Koolau Golf Club.  The club operates on the first floor, and the church occupies the second.  This is country club living, with a grand staircase and waterfall for a wedding setting, and floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over Kaneohe Bay.

We attended a Christmas service with my mother, and were treated to a full orchestra and choir from the Honolulu Symphony.  The carols were traditional arrangements, and the sermon was a typical Christian message.  The children who read the sacred passages were terrific.

After the celebration, Mom took us around the clubhouse and the grounds, and pointed out the areas where she had spread Dad's ashes.  He is probably content, knowing that even in death he is being useful.

Original review 7/29/2006:
This is a good church.  I had forgotten how prosperous Presbyterians are.  Three pastors greeted me.  There are at least four buildings on the property, and a spacious patio for socializing.  The sanctuary is very spacious, with stained glass windows above the entrance, a pipe organ in the chancel, and bright picture windows along the side.  It seemed that everyone knew my parents, and I was very happy to meet them all.

R.I.P., Don.
