This is the best location to eat WONTON noodle soup. No lie.

You can cut my dick off, if you don't believe me.
JK, I don't have one.

I've been eating here since I was little, the only downside to this restaurant is their soup base makes me vomit afterwards.

They also have orgasmic chinese bbq ~ just make sure to watch the butcher wash his hands before he starts cutting up the meat. ^^; I've seen that guy pick his nose and stuff in his spare time.
But then again, you know what they say, "Great food is only orgasmic if it has the spit, sweat, and boogers of the chef."

Oh .. and they only accept cash! So remember to bring some.. or they'll make you wash the dishes. :)

LOLOLOL.
Highly recommended!!

REDICULOUS!!! That's the only way to describe this place. It could be the best reason to go to Richardson...seriously.

I've been back twice since I've heard about this place from my friend Nikki! You know you are in the right place for Chinese food when you walk in and you're the only round eye in the place.

We had:

- Peking Duck... words can't describe it.
- Beef Soft Noddles... could be my last meal request
- Orange beef... the perfect balance of great chinese flavoring a great beef
- Some kind of chinese broccoli... good enough to make a carnivore go vegetarian
- Hot and Sour Soup - the soups are enough fr 6 people for something like $6
- Combo Fried Rice ... I hate rice and I loved this dish. Couldn't eat enough.

There were four of us in the group and we ordered so much food they asked us to switch to a bigger table with a lazy susan in the middle. No we aren't competitive eaters there were just so many amazing choices we couldn't make up our mind.

The best part about this place is how cheap it is.

Check it out today!

Stooped coming to this location after the Plano location opened up.  Food is quick but tasty.  Place could be a bit cleaner but that's true of most Chinese restaurants.

The duck at 1st Chinese is better than any other Chinese places in Dallas area.

Cash only!!!

Great Chinese BBQ.  You know you are in the right place when they have a meat counter at the entrance.

I had the non-kosher BBQ pork and rice.  HEHE

I love one reviewer that said, "this place makes me fat."

Afterwards, try out the coffee joint next door.

i'll be honest here i grew up eating cantonese food and because of that i've grown quite tired of it.  when i first heard about 1st bbq i really wasnt very excited to go b/c its a cantonese restaurant but at the persistence of the bf and yelp's awesome reviews, i gave in and decided to try it.  OMFG this place is orgasmic.  i have never had such delicious peking duck.  everything about it was downright coma-inducing.  the salted fish and chicken fried rice had an abundance of salty fish.  the bf hogged all the roast duck wonton noodle soup and barely gave me 2 bites b/c he was so engulfed by it.  it sucks that i live in KCMO b/c i would drive 8hrs just so i can eat at 1st bbq.  dont forget this is a cash only place which means one thing:  THE PRICES ARE LOW!!!

This has been our favorite go to spot for cheap authentic chinese food for years. The only drawback is that they accept CASH only. We always have to stop by the atm before going here, but it is well worth it.

Service is what's to be expected from asian restaurants, order two waters if you drink a lot bc they won't refill it..;)

Everything we've tasted on the menu is good, you really can't go wrong.
Our favorites:
BBQ Pork Fried Rice
Roast Duck and Roast Pork Combo
Spicy Fried Squid
Fried Tofu Stuffed with Shrimp
Beef with Water Spinach or Snow Pea Leaves

First Chinese BBQ is absolutely our most favorite Chinese restaurant to dine at. We are Chinese by heritage so we always want something authentic when we dine out and crave for Chinese food. For us, FCB is one of the most authentic Chinese food you can find in Dallas. They have some different locations across the Metroplex and having dined at two of their locations I would say they deliver great meals consistently. In places like this, though, please don't expect a five star waiter service.

Whenever we go to FCB with a group of friends, everybody knew already what we all are going to order. We would order:

- Shrimp Wonton Soup (my absolute favorite thing here. fresh taste, great portion of the meat filling, so juicy and taste heavenly, simple but tasty broth)
- Water Spinach (Kangkung) with Garlic
- Snow Pea Leaves with Garlic
- Combination Soft Noodle (sounds very simple and common, but their version of soft noodle is very tasty!)
- Seafood Hot Pot (squid, shrimp, fried tofu, imitation crab. the sauce/soup is just right. not too gingery.)
- BBQ Cha Siu Pork (a bit crispy on the outside but moist inside, love the red sweet honey sauce)
- BBQ Roast Pork (crispy-crunchy skin, very moist and tender meat, done just right!)
- BBQ Roast Duck (juicy, taste amazing! ask them for the "Duck sauce" if they dont give you one.)
- Salty Fish Fried Rice (you can taste the salty fish without being overwhelming. love it!)

This is probably the best Chinese food I've had in Dallas yet.  I grew up with the best in Houston's Chinatown + homecooking.  The flat noodle is great, the char-siu (bbq pork) is a bit on the sweet side, the roast pork is crunchy and soft (fantastic).  You can ask them for "snow pea leaves w/ garlic" as a vegetable dish, even though I don't think it was on the menu and sometimes they have it.  It's one of my favorite Chinese vegetables *ever*!  Sometimes they have water spinach instead...it'll do.

They take cash only, the decor/atmosphere is simple, and can be a bit rude if you're slow and they're busy.  But I'd go for the food anyway when I need a taste of home.  :)

I really like this place. It is very similar to the places I grew up going to in Boston's Chinatown. Went with a group of 4 friends armed with wine (its BYOB) and cash thanks to previous suggestions. We ordered a ridiculous amount of food...we probably had 12 dishes to share & the bill was only about 1/4 of what we would have paid in Dallas. The food was delicious...we had the signature BBQ Pork Fried Rice, Beef Chow Fun (wide noodle), Wonton Soup, soft shell crab and several other dishes. Everything was delicious. The portions are enormous and we had leftovers for the next 3 days...which is a bonus in my house.

Try it!! You won't be disappointed.

This is the original First Chinese BBQ and I have been going here for 20 years almost. I remember when it used to be tiny (smaller than it is now) and run down like a dirty noodle joint in Hong Kong. They are a Chinese food legend in DFW and I'm happy to see them still around and expanding. The service sucks, they're rude, they take cash only, but this is the best Cantonese food in DFW. Wonton soup, any noodle soup, roasted duck, soy sauce chicken, salty chicken, roasted pork, and beef flat-noodles are all staples. I took a non-asian friend here once and told him that the hanging chicken was actually rabbit and it freaked him out so much we had to go somewhere else to eat. Pansy...

Obviously this place has enough reviews but I still want to add my 2 cents :)

For those of you who are queasy at looking at dead hanging animals this may not be the place for you. As you walk in to your right you will see ducks, pigs, etc hanging in an enclosed case. Personally this doesn't bother me so on to the food/service. I would call this a family style restaurant in that the orders are huge. I really think we could of ordered one entree for the 4 of us but where's the fun in that.

The menu is huge and the food is great! We ordered chicken fried rice for the little one. It was very good. The only thing I wish I would of requested was white meat only but other then that it was delicious. I ordered the crispy chicken with lemongrass which is on the chefs speciality list. The way they cook most of their meat is in chunks meaning you will have bones so be careful. I typically don't like this but the chicken was so good, tender and juicy that it didn't bother me this time. The lemongrass added the perfect touch.

My husband ordered the pork and chicken over rice. Again this was very good. The chicken was huge pieces of bone in dark meat that my husband happens to love. Then they brought over another huge bowl of steamed rice which my daughter was devouring.

This is not your typical chinese food which I loved. They have some of your typical dishes but with a flair. We will definitely be back again and again and again.

Being a Chinese guy (albeit born in the US), I have a pretty high standard for Chinese food. We normally don't eat at Chinese restaurants because my mother-in-law (Taiwanese) cooks a multicourse dinner for the entire family every Sunday. It's hard to beat her food.  It's much healthier, better prepared and equally as tasty as the best Chinese joints in DFW.

When we do get the penchant to go out for some honest and delicious Chinese food , 1st BBQ makes the immediate short list. The food is authentic enough for Asians (whole roasted ducks hanging by their necks will greet you as you enter the place) and hardcore Oriental foodies, but there are also dishes for more conservative diners that aren't as experienced with Chinese cuisine.   Be warned that the cooks definitely have large containers of cooking oil, salt, and MSG as part of their 'mise en place'.  However, if you are counting calories, bring an abacus, but know that they will not go wasted on the food here.

The food is Cantonese style so you will get classics like wonton soup, lo mein, fried noodles, flat noodles, and an assortment of BBQ'ed meats (duck, chicken and pork). You can get basic fried rice or kick it up a notch by adding morsels of salted fish.   Go with a big group so you can order a bunch of dishes to eat family style and share.

It's relatively clean for a restaurant in Chinatown, but the obligatory layer of grease that covers all surfaces proves that you are in an authentic Chinese joint.

My first few months in Dallas, I found the c-town area on Greenville in Richardson. I was working my way through various Chinese restaurants in search of my "go to" Chinese spot. One day, while I was content just sipping on my taro milk tea at the boba place in the same plaza as First Chinese, I noticed a couple of people wheeling out a whole roast suckling pig out to the back of some guy's car. Holy roast pig Batman! I tossed aside my boba and ran outside to get a better glimpse. Anyplace that serves up whole roast suckling pig I gotta check out.

It was early for dinner, about 4pm, but I went two doors down to First Chinese. The first good sign of any decent Chinese place? It's own duck and pork holding rack. Go to any respectable Chinese joint in Monterey Park or Flushing and you'll see these delectable delights hanging from their window. It's like their calling card - nuff said.

The interior is actually a lot cleaner and more pleasant than many Chinese dives I've visited. I could bring my parents here or even a date. I've brought a posse of 20 something people here with no reservations on a busy weekend and we usually all get seated in 5 minutes or less so I'd even recommend for larger groups. Bring the rents, cousins, ex girlfriends, mechanic...

The food is awesome. I would rate it on par with the Chinese food you'd expect to get from LA, SF, or NYC. You can read all the other reviews for details on the food. The portions are indeed enormous. I've never left paying more than $12 feeling so full with left overs in tow. This place is BYOB, Cash Only. First Chinese is where I always go to in Dallas to cure my Chinese fix.

I'll probably get shunned for this since everyone loves this place, but it didn't rock my socks off. I thought it did at first while I was eating it, but then I got a weirdly textured piece of sesame chicken (grisly/weirdness) and that kind of ruined it for me. The fried rice was really good while I was there, but it was REALLY terrible reheated. The BBQ pork was good, but I've had better and alot of it was fatty. Over all it was ok, but I'm not a big fan.

I'm still looking for my default Chinese place :(

In the words of Christopher Walken, Wowee wow wow.

So far, this is by far the best Chinese food I have eaten since moving to Texas and probably since visiting China itself in March 2007. Served family style and with at least, hrm... 12 of us in attendance (I think there may have been one or two more) we were all able to sample and taste a HUGE variety of dishes.

I ordered the combination soft noodle, also known as lo mein, but was disappointed to find out that there was a lot of seafood in it. No big deal, I pulled out what I wanted and next time know to order just beef or chicken. I also ordered a giant plate of baby boy choy which made my toes curl with delight! I love me some Chinese cabbage, baby boy choy and any other type of Chinese veggie sauteed up with garlic and oily, brothy goodness that I can't even begin to tell you how happy I was I could order it. It wasn't exactly on the menu, so just be sure to ask.

The staff is totally authentic, except for the lone Mexican waiter which threw me off a bit, but that's ok. The hanging ducks and chickens also give First Chinese BBQ plenty of street credit in my book. The oolong tea was delish, although I prefer mine piping hot.

You also can't beat BYOB. I've yet to experience a BYOB restaurant in Texas, so another first for me. Katie C. and I were able to bag some sweet camouflaged Miller High Life's in 16 ounce cans, adding to the classiness of our dinner. No one seemed to mind, but perhaps that's because they couldn't see it.

I got to meet some new Yelpers, eat tasty Chinese food and throw back some High Life.

And, we didn't get any cheesy fortune cookies with our bill. Which by the way, only totalled $117. For that many of us eating, I felt like we were robbing them blind. I would have like to have tipped more (because that's just the way that I am) but we gave above the standard at 20%. We had so much food on our table there was no place to put it.

I recommend the soft noodle, the baby boy choy, the flat noodle and the BBQ pork was pretty damn good for someone like myself who usually doesn't like pork. First Chinese is as close to China as you can get.

I LOVE First Chinese BBQ. There's so many other reviews here it's almost pointless for me to say any more, but this is authentic Chinese in a super cute little restaurant. Roasted anything is a safe bet, as is the beef flat noodles and the deliciously garlicly water spinach. LOVE IT. The portions are gi-nourmous and you know it's good when most people in the restaurant are Chinese.

Plus - you can get bubble-tea right next door!

I have been going to this establishment since I was a little kid and twenty years later the food is stilllllll good!

Food:
If you want to experience cheap, good, authentic, Cantonese food. This is it! I would recommend the Won-ton noodle soup. Be sure to get it with duck because it complements the meal very nicely. Though, most of the food is great, this is always the dish I get.

However, if you are going with a group of people and want to emulate family dinner style be sure to order rice and fried noodles (as a base) to share. Then order at least 3 dishes to share amongst yourselves. I would recommend the fried noodles (it looks like a bird's nest) and it comes with sauce, peas in a pod, mushrooms, beef, and broccoli; get a fish dish, and any BBQ (duck/pork is really nice and is also accompanied by a delicious sauce). It's up to your discretion on how you like it to be cooked.

(tip: Nobody likes a double dipper-same thing with chopsticks. If sharing dishes, be sure to turn the chopsticks upside down (the bigger end) and retrieve the food. But not to worry, most of the dishes come with serving spoons, but sometimes it's just easier to use a chopstick)

Also, be sure to order Hot Jasmine Tea. For me, it's a nice touch. One order of tea comes with 2-4 cups.

Atmosphere:
This place reminds me of a restaurant that is tucked inside China Town or when Big took Carrie to an authentic Chinese restaurant and she thought he didn't want anyone to see them together (Sex and The City Reference).

Be prepared to walk into a very small restaurant (they actually expanded it, but it's still quite small). You will be greeted by hanging ducks, pigs, and chickens on hooks, a butcher cutting up meat, and a display of  stomach, intestine, etc (in case you were wondering). When sitting down, I still look forward to seeing the red, paper Asian horoscope that is used as a place mat.

Most likely the place will be packed and you will have to wait a good 15 minutes.  When you look inside the dining area you will see a sea of Asian people eating a good family dinner.

The waitstaff are nice, but also quick on their toes. Yes, they can speak Cantonese and Mandarin, but for us they can also switch to Vietnamese. :)

IMPORTANT!!!!!This place only takes cash!!!!

Won ton soup - BANGIN'. these lil shrimp dumplings just floating around in some good ol' broth. like 5 bucks. awesome man.

Won ton noodoh soup with roast duck - BANGIN'. had this after a night of drinking. duck was great with the soup and won tons.

Seafood crispy noodoh - I liked it. I usually don't like these types of dishes cause it's kinda like crackers are supposed to be the noodles. But surprisingly, it was good. What I'm looking for is chow mein hong kong style... so if you know the name of the dish lemme know, thanks.

Roast duck, bbq pork on rice - like 6 bucks. retarded. get out of here. i feel sorry for your mudda. man! it's awesome.

I'm happy this place is near my home. when i got the muchies, or late night meal (open til 930pm) this is where i go.

Great food at a ridiculous price and good company makes Joe a happy and full gentleman.

I met up with some of my fellow yelpers at First Chinese BBQ for a UYE dinner (because I'm so sentimental I'm making my first UYE my 100th review. . .shit, now I'm getting all misty-eyed). After spending the previous week staring at the menu online trying to decide what I wanted, I quickly realized I had no clue what I wanted as I watched delicious plate after delicious plate be served to tables around us.

Thankfully there were 14 of us and family style eating was the name of the game. With so many options on the menu, this is definitely the way to go.

I ended up with the BBQ duck, pork and chicken dish. Cuts of all three meats served with rice and veggies for $6.50. Are you kidding me? For that price anywhere else you aren't going to get duck and more than likely not going to get more than a couple slices of chicken or pork. Not at First Chinese. The duck was incredibly flavorful and very rich. The pork had a nice smokiness to it and a little bit of a char that made it even better. I can't vouch for the chicken because it didn't make the rotation around the table back to me, but I heard good things.

My other favorites that I tried were the beef flat noodle, the monster plate of baby bok choy and the szechuan chicken. Other standards like sesame chicken and orange chicken were also on the table and tasted as good as they would anywhere else.

The specials on the wall were in (I'm assuming) Chinese so I have absolutely no idea what they were, but I'll assume they were fairly exotic treats. The service was pretty good, too. We had at least 3 different servers filling up our drinks at a time.

Now, you're probably thinking "Sounds good, Joe, but what really makes this place so much better than other Chinese restaurants." Are you read for the answer? Are you sure?

Besides it being a cash only establishment (no credit card fees for the restaurants means cheaper prices for everyone else. . .our meal for 14 including 18% tip ended up at $10 a head), IT'S BYOB. Yes, you can feel free to bring in your camouflaged tall boys of Miller High Life (nod to Katie C. and Kristen G. for that) and have a cold one with your meal. Sure you might be judged, but to be fair, it's probably going to be in a language you won't understand. . .and you'll be drunk so screw them.

Make the trek to Richardson because you really don't want to miss this place.

Having spent nearly a year in Hong Kong/Kowloon eating chinese food at least for one meal each day, I think I have honed my chinese food taste buds and can differentiate between good, better and excellent.

I have to give First Chinese BBQ only a good. The quality of the food was mediocre and a lot of the food was pretty bland. Plus the amount of red food colouring got to me as well.

I know that a lot of folks love this place, including my girlfriend and I have gone there three seperate times, hoping that the food would be better but I have been disappointed each time I have gone there. I think there are better chinese restaurants around Richardson.

CASH ONLY.  BYOB.  And if you are coming at lunch, don't wait until Noon, or you WILL be waiting for a table.

By far the best sesame chicken I have had in the area.

I went on Jan 30th with the UYE group, and while everything I tasted was very good... I couldn't remember enough to write a review   So, Jenn C and I went there for lunch today.

We ordered Pork Fried Rice, BBQ Pork and Sesame Chicken.  As Jenn mentioned at lunch.. that was the most flavorful fried rice I have ever had that wasn't "Soy Sauce" dark brown.

The Sesame Chicken here is probably some of the best I have ever had.  The sauce coats the chicken and broccoli and has a great flavor.

The BBQ Pork was my least favorite of the items we had today.  It had good flavor, I just thought it was just a little much.

The Szechuan Chicken I had ordered at the UYE ... where we ordered 13 different things family style and passed it all around was my favorite of the evening and a few other people mentioned it being at the top of their lists too.

YAY.  Finally Good Chinese Food.

im a big fan of this place.  Chinese buffets are nice and all but if you want some quality chinese this is the place.  Most staff at a chinese restuarant like this are typically subpar, but the people here are cordial and polite.  That matters.  Food is very good.  My wife doesnt really care for the bbq even though i like it alot.  So we usually get the pan fried noodles, sesame chicken, buddhas delight, wonton noodle soup, lemon grass chicken, and hot pots.  really anything on the menu is good.

always packed with asians peeps so you know is good.

I love LOVE love love this place. It has the best Chinese food here in the DFW metroplex. Hands down. I come here pretty often; like every weekend! This is the only place I would enjoy eating as do my friends.

Top of the list: (A must order)
BBQ fried rice, crispy duck, cripsy pork, BBQ pork, BBQ pork fried noodles, beef stir fry flat noodles, wonton soup, garlic water spinach or snow peas tip leaves, crispy, spicey, salt and pepper tofu...

I have tried most things on the menu and I love them all. I can't help but to order my usuals, listed above!

This place is a must go!

I came here for lunch w/ some coworkers a few weeks ago and found out some new dishes that I want to order all the freaking time. We came here with a vegetarian so we had to go through the menu and find stuff for her to eat. I silently scoffed (don't worry, I don't actually KNOW the vegetarian, she works in a different department) thinking to myself, what is a vegetarian doing coming to a place with "BBQ" in the name?? Crispy tofu with black bean sauce! Pea shoots sauteed with garlic!!! OMG. Pea shoots for lyfe. Freaking fantastic.

If you like Chinese BBQ and you are Dallas, then this is it. Also, specifically only this location. The others are just not the same. BBQ Pork is their forte. It is cooked perfectly with the slightly sweet red sauce outside and it is tender and just delicious with even just a steaming bowl of white rice. The Pan-fried noodles are also good. They also have great wontons. It has a nice piece of shrimp in the middle. Get it by itself or with the bbq pork as a noodle soup dish.
If you feel like you need to be healthy and order some vegetables, ask the waitress about the vegetable of the day. Water spinach or pea-sprouts with garlic are usually good.

Best in Dallas for price and taste!

Roasted ducks hang inside the door, and this is usually a good sign.

The inside is much nicer than the ratty microstripmall exterior would suggest.  Pleasant interior, quiet, people really enjoying their food.  The clientele appeared to be 2/3rd Asian the day I was there, with 1/3 Caucausians who appeared to be the "find the real thing" types.  Daily special signs are in a Chinese dialect, only.  Menu items are in Chinese, adventurous English, and (thankfully) numbered.  Be patient and creative when ordering from the first-generation-in-America waitstaff.  Very gracious, and with minimal English.

I had a roasted duck and noodle soup ($6) which was fantastic.  That should have been my whole meal but I got greedy and ordered fresh squid with preserved mustard greens ($7-8) also.  This spread would have filled two hearty folks or three normal folks.

This was my first time but I *will* be back.  This may be the best Chinese in the area since the sale of Tongs.

If my kid likes it, I bump a star...So this gets 5 stars. We stumbled across this place looking for beef chow fun (on the menu here as beef flat noodles) that we had thus far only found at May Dragon and didn't think was worth the $15 they charge for it. I ordered sesame chicken, hoping my daughter would like it. She loved both!! We loved both!! Our new favorite Chinese restaurant in Dallas. The decor was so cute on the inside, though it looks pretty generic on the outside--reminded me of Orange Cup (the inside that is). And right next door is Boba Latte. We were stuffed when we left, but still managed to stop in for a Hong Kong Milk tea.
I look forward to going back again and again, and trying everything else on the menu. Yum, yum, yum!

Great Cantonese food comparable to San Francisco and Hong Kong. For your first time there, don't get freaked out by the selection of meats with heads (ducks, pig) hanging by the entrance. Don't wait for them to seat you as it seems to be seat yourself atmosphere. My favorite dishes are wonton soup, orange beef, beef chow mein and beef chow fun. If you're used to American style Chinese food and like orange chicken then try the orange beef. I believe they lightly deep fry the beef to make it crunchy then pour over a spicy sweet orange favored sauce and served with a side of rice. Crap, I'm getting hungry typing this. Don't expect too much in the way of service as the waitresses are direct and to the point. Seems like the waitresses I get barely speaks English but who cares when the food rocks. So the next  time you have a craving for Chinese food skip the Americanized stuff and give this place a try.

Ok, this place is getting better & better.  Must try: the crispy tofu.  Holy hell.

Also soft noodle dish w/ bbq pork or fried rice w/ bbq pork.  But, you must try the tofu.  We brought a girl here who promised us she did not like tofu, and last week she was like, can we go back to that place & get that tofu??  She is a believer!  Also, water spinach w/ garlic sauce is delicious & the snow peas.

Great authentic Cantonese food, mediocre service.  But, they know they can treat you like dirt, b/c you'll keep coming back for more!

This is a Hong Kong BBQ style restaurant.  They actually speak Contonese here, which I've found as a rarity here in Dallas.  The roast duck here was good.  The Char-Siu (BBQ Pork) simply didn't have any taste.  There was plenty of red food coloring- and we're not talking a deep red.  We're talking a very unnatural bright neon red.  The beef pan fried noodles are tasty.  This is one of my favorite dishes, so it's hard for me not to like.  This comes in a large portion, definitely enough for 2.

3.5 stars.  I will come back but will not get the Char Siu.  Definitely open to trying other dishes they have to offer.

This place has the best wonton noodle soup in Dallas.  My favorite is the one with BBQ pork.  The duck is also very good also.  The soup is clean and tasty and the wonton is filled with shrimp.  The beef flat noodle is good here also.  I've had some other dishes but the wonton soup is what makes me come back again and again.

The service is not anything to write home about but you kinda expect that at a place like this.  And yea, bring cash.

I am a wonton soup connoisseur. I have traveled far and wide to get good wonton soup (the best yet strangely being at Banana Leaf Malaysian in Philadelphia) and I'm not talking about those thick rubbery mystery meat filled grosseries you get in Americanized Chinese places. Oh no.

Paper thin delicate wrappers, succulent chunks of meaty filling, hearty marrow soaked broth and hopefully some tasty vegetables floating in there. That's what I'm on the constant lookout for, and First Chinese BBQ consistently delivers. I order the shrimp filled wonton soup (no noodles), add kai lan (Chinese broccoli) and BBQ pork. It's a hearty meal, comforting and warming, although not too heavy when it's hot outdoors (aka, every month except January in Texas).

Their other dishes are pretty amazing, too- the BBQ pork/duck are fantastic over perfectly cooked white rice, beef flat noodles with black bean sauce, szechuan eggplant and crispy tofu being some of my personal favorites.

I've heard it a million times, but I've never ever had a problem with the service. Definitely expect a wait at peak times and bring cash.

So maybe living in So Cal and then the bay area has made me a chinese BBQ snob, but I thought the food here was just OK.

The BBQ pork (Char Siu, or  Xa Xiu) was just acceptable, and the pan fried noodles with seafood were a bit of a disappointment ( overcooked squid and canned mushrooms)

The roast duck and the szechwan eggplant were both good, but not up to the level of a sam woo, or even a good 99 Ranch.  Ask me in 2 years and I'll probably be raving about this place, but let's just say it's not up to the best that millbrae and monterey park have to offer

The other thing that surprised me was that it was impossible to order off the menu.  Understandable, but usually you can just ask for combinations of what they offer and they can make it happen ( like say, squid with chinese broccoli in garlic sauce).  This leads me to believe that a lot of the food is premade and in big pots in the back; either that, or my ordering kung fu has been bested.

All in all this satisfied a big craving, but I'm still on the lookout.

My family and I have been going here for years, and it's always our first stop each time we drive in to Dallas (even before we check in our hotel). This location has since expanded size wise, which is nice because the wait isn't as long as it used to be...wait, I take that back. It's still long, esp. on the weekends, but not as bad. While you're waiting, you can always check out the guy chopping up the duck/chicken/pork pieces and other animal parts that I'm not sure I want to try.

Our usual favorites are the roast duck and then it's a toss-up between bbq or roast pork. My dad also gets the wonton noodle soup. Depending on how hungry he is, he gets 2 orders! The portions for a lot of the dishes are pretty big, and you can't beat the prices. Steamed rice comes with any order and is about right for 2-4 people. My parents try to come here every few months, and at least once when my brother & I are home for the holidays. We make habit of stopping here as we're leaving Dallas and getting a couple orders of duck and pork to go so we can get our "fix" at home in LA . Yum.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant on the planet so far, and has been since I was fifteen years old.  I can't describe how perfect everything always comes out, the food glistening like suculent fruits to be picked off the plate.

Of course, if you are going for the Hong Kong style barbecue, you'll be in store for some delicious roast or barbecued pork, roasted duck or chicken, and other unmentionables that should be left for more oriental palates (can we say organ-ic?).

My favorite items to order are as follows: orange beef or chicken, young chow fried rice, any of the soft or hard noodle dishes, the braised bok choy, and of course anything with the BBQ pork in it.  Once in a while I will venture away from these gringo plates that they seem to have perfected, but not that often since I only get to eat here when I come home to visit.

The service is quick, reliable, not all that friendly at times, but they get the job done.  It's also a great place to get take-out.  Just remember it's cash only.

And yes, there are other locations, but this one is the original, so you kind of have to give it credit for that too.  I used to frequent it when it was half the size, much dirtier (now it's like a modern restaurant), and the toilet was unisex and the throne was up on a weird pedestal.  Thank god they finally made enough money to expand and redo the place.

My favorite place for chinese food.  Great price, great authenic food, service is OK, but the food makes up for it.

Appetizers:  wonton soup (***best***)

Entrees: beef flat noodles (my favorite), combination fried rice, combination bbq, salt and pepper pork, sauted chinese broccoli.

They have a couple location but I personally like the one on Greenville and Main st. the best!

If I ever feel like having Cantonese food, I will come by this place.  This restaurant has been known as the go-to-place among Dallas locals for those traditional Cantonese dishes.

Those staple dishes include the Shrimp Wonton Soup, Roast Duck, Barbeque Pork, Pan Fried Noodles with the Seafood & Vegetables, Beef Flat Noodle, Young-Chow Fried Rice, Tofu with Shrimp on the Skillet, Orange Beef, and the traditional Cantonese Green Vegetables.  This is the extent of the dishes I will order and my favorites that I think First Chinese BBQ does an excellent job on are the Beef Flat Noodle and their Young-Chow Fried Rice.  Typical dishes, but so many restaurants around town just can't seem to get it right.  These 2 are perfectly flavored and soooo tasty.

The only annoying thing here is if you dine here, remember to bring cash because its cash only.  Don't expect great service here, as you can tell in Chinese restaurants, its all about the hustle & bustle, making sure everyone gets their food and likes it.  That's why the Chinese waitresses are always yelling at each other! So, don't take it personal.

This is my preferred location, as it is the original.  Taste is also better compared to the others.
