2 reviews for Firestone Tire & Service Centers
After reading several negative reviews of this place, I was reluctant to bring my car (1996 Jeep Cherokee) to this place to have a new set of tires installed. However, considering how much independent garages charge and how pretty much every major auto-repair chain gets negative reviews, I decided to bite the bullet because I desperately needed tires.
I came in on a Saturday without an appointment and was helped quickly. The guy I dealt with, I think he was a manager or assistant manager, was polite, helpful, and trustworthy. I brought in a coupon for 15% off my tires, but he gave me the better deal of buy-3 get the 4th free, which saved me about $50. After they ordered and picked up the tires from a nearby location, they completed the job within a few hours and I had my car back at the end of the day.
I haven't driven many miles on the new set, but I haven't noticed any problems so far. Assuming my car keeps rolling smoothly, I will continue to go back to Firestone to have my tires rotated (free for the life of the tires) and oil changed (there are always coupons online for discounts). I'm not sure if the customer service I received was an anomaly for this place, but I left satisfied.
I came here for a couple of oil changes without incident. Then, one of my headlights burnt out. I stopped in to buy a bulb. They told me they couldn't just sell me a lightbulb, but one of their mechanics could install it... OK, fine. One new lightbulb and one $30+ labor charge later, my trusty Civic was back in business.
When I popped the hood a couple weeks later, I found a headlight gasket sitting on top of the air filter box, instead of in the light where it belongs. Now, this isn't a critical piece of equipment, but I couldn't believe I paid someone to change a bulb and they didn't even do it right. I suppose I should make a "How many Firestone mechanics does it take to change a lightbulb" joke, with the punchline being "Go someplace else."
