Firenze a Tavola is inspired. Beautiful atmosphere. Amazing authentic food. Great service. Terrific wine list. It reminds me so much of the wonderful little family-owned restaurants in Florence. If you can't afford the airfare to Italy, this is the next best thing!
Be sure to make a reservation a few days in advance. This place is popular, and tables are limited.

Since I love Parisi, Firenza's sibling restaurant on the upper floor, I had great expectations for this new more formal restaurant in the basement. I was very disappointed.
It was quite pricey and the food was marginal. The best part of the meal was the bread, which was outstanding. The ribollita, a thick vegetable soup with bread and olive oil, was good, but not as good as I had hoped. I had very fond memories of the ribollita from a trip to Florence.
The pasta, although it seemed homemade, had an unappealing texture (it was almost crunchy). Neither the Ravioli d'Aragosta, a seafood ravioli, or the truffled linguine were very good.
