3 reviews for Firelite Lodge
The Good stuff:
Free Continental Breakfast with two cereals (honey bunches of oats, cinnamon toast crunch). There was also water, orange juice, or milk, Coffee, or Tea.
They have a pool and spa, but we never used them due to the snow.
They are located across the street from the lake and sandwiched in between a lot of restaurants (Captain Jon's, El Sanchos, Spindleshanks, and the Old Range Steak House. I did reviews on all but the steak house.
The staff was friendly, room was clean, and we had our own balcony overlooking the pool and part of the lake.
The Bad stuff: The television had 8 channels- most of which consisted of infomercials and the tv guide that listed a ton of channels we couldn't get.
Their toilet paper was 1-ply and their towels didn't work too well (they would soak up part of the moisture, but stay wet. Usually towels are supposed to soak up all moisture and still be a bit dry.).
I could get by with it, but I don't know others would feel about that.
The heater worked well, but had to be turned to 80 degrees F in order for the room to reach a comfortable 70 degree temperature.
Would I go there again? Yes. It is a cheaper lodge, so I wasn't expecting much. It exceeded my expectations and is in a good location.
Reasonable prices for a stay at a hotel with just the basics. The staff is really nice and helpful. We had a view of the lake if we just sort of overlooked the building in front of us, heh.
Continental breakfast included make-your-own waffles, which they provided the batter for. Fun!
The not so good: the toilets in the rooms are the industrial kind. I'm always really paranoid about knocking something off of the vanity into the toilet. Luckily, we only stayed here one night so I didn't have to deal with it for long.
Not the nicest place I've been to, but the Lakeside view from our room was breath taking, and totally worth it!!! I've got to say, I actually love the North Shore way better than the South Shore....but its too bad, we only stayed one night here. It was the only place that could accomodate us so last minute, and the rates were really reasonable. The room was clean almost had a studio feel to it, which came fully equpped with a little kitchenette. The mini-fridge made a lot of noise though....but it didn't bother me too much. We had a lovely balcony too.
Now that I remember...the TV was a little small and out-dated, but with the rates being so reasonable, it's totally understandable. We didn't partake in the amenities, but we did walk over to the Lake. And that was probably the best part of our stay, being so close to the lake. There was also plenty of free parking, friendly travelers, so thats always a plus.
Also, The best part of it all was staying next to one of the best steakhouses yet!
