Neighborhood: Queen AnneFirefly has a fairly odd atmosphere, and a bit confusing since the change in ownership. The name Lumette says French, and the translation to Firefly doesn't say Italian...
The food has always been decent, with the exception of a Panini I once had.
The pizza is actually VERY good, and probably the best on the hill. It is fired in a wood oven, and keeps me coming back.

this place was great back when we moved here in '94.
sadly, they changed owners (& menus) less than a year later & turned into "lumette" which was awful. lots of really heavy, oily, bland food.
recently, they have changed hands again & are now "sorrentino" which i've only been to once for lunch. the food was quite good & the service lovely.
(someone should really update this to say that "firefly" is closed...)

I recently ate here with my boyfriend and his family. his grandfather is extremely picky and we were having trouble finding a place that could satisfy his tastebuds. Firefly, said that they would make basically whatever he wanted, which ended up being a steak, no salad, some veggies, and potatoes. Although he didn't eat his vegitables the rest of us did, and the carrots had this amazing sugary glaze on them, so yummy. I got a pasta with lemony chicken and artichoke hearts. There was also a pizza ordered that had goat cheese and eggplant that looked amazing. The best thing about this place though was the service, which was absolutely amazing!! The waiter gave all of us that drink wine a complimentary glass of wine. He was extremely attentive and helpful. Also, the chef and the owner came to check to make sure things were alright. I was amazed, and asked if this place was new, but they have actually been around 2 years. I recommend checking this place out. The food that I got was good but not amazing, however, I was extremely impressed with the service and ambience.
