Art galleries are good.

The best section of the gallery features Dr. Seuss' first works of art: mounted heads of imaginary animals. He called it Unorthodox Taxidermy. I call it hiiiii-larious. My favorite is the Semi-Normal Green-Lidded Fawn. The sculptures were inspired by his father, a zoologist who often came home with beaks and antlers.  If I could, I'd have this entire collection on my wall.

The staff are actually approachable and will tell you everything you've ever wanted to know about your favorite childhood artist and author. Check out the photos... two of Suess' sculptures are posted.

Like Larisa said, did you know that Dr. Seuss has out some sculptures and paintings independent of his books for kids?Well, I didn't until I walked on by the serendipitously named Fingerhut gallery. This in itself - the educational aspect - will allow me to give this gallery a 3 at minimum.

However, beyond the Seuss contingent, which is a serious one, this gallery also had some cool stuff by Marcus Tierson.

All in all I was impressed by everything but the prices, so if you are a window shopper art-style like me, check them out; or if you have some green and want to spend it on some Seuss, by all means.

I love this place for one reason: Dr. Seuss. They have a huge collection of paintings and sculptures by Dr. Seuss. These aren't just illustrations from his kiddie books, there is some hip and twisted stuff there.

I doubt I'll be buying anything from here for a while (my art collecting budget hasn't blossomed yet), but it sure is fun to look. And you can always look online for cheap-o poster prints of things you like.
