I wish everyone was lucky enough to have a Valentine who shops here.
I was given a beautiful handcarved wooden box that has bits of copper and turquoise on the top. But this description doesn't do it justice. I posted a few smaller photos that I found on the internet to show what they look like but you have to see them in person to believe them. It is gorgeous! The stone bits are covered with some sort of clear material that abuts the natural lines of the wood. The box is signed inside by the man that made it. He and his family are making these as well as some beautiful crosses and we are lucky enough to have them right in Valencia.
Fine Art and Soul now carries more items which wouldn't necessarily jump to mind when you say art.
For Christmas I bought someone these small square plaques that have metal on them and hummingbirds carved on them. Again, this description doesn't do it justice, I suppose I should get our my camera and photograph it. And the nice thing is, they weren't horribly expensive.
Do yourself a favor, and next time you are in this part of town, please stop in to check it out. Last time I was there they also had some handmade necklaces that were gorgeous.
