I have never thought about writing a review for someone who provides professional services, (unless of course I had a negative experience). In reality as the owner of a service business myself, I've come to realize how important it is to provide positive reviews where warranted.

Chris Finck, of Finck-Rudnick & Company, has been my accountant, confidante and advisor for more than thirty years. Anyone who has owned a small business knows how challenging and lonely it can be and the advice Chris has provided has been invaluable. I started my business in 1976 and like most others it has been up, down and almost everything in between. I believe I met Chris in 1980, since then he and his business, Finck Rudnick & Company, have been providing all of our Accounting, Tax Preparation, Tax Planning and General Business Advice. Chris long been my trusted "go to" person, especially during the times when I'm wrestling with difficult decisions and need someone I trust to talk things over with. Chris has become much more than "My Accountant". Chris is honest straight talking, and clearly has my best interest in mind when offering ideas. He always thinks beyond simply providing tax advice and is a true businessman who thinks outside the box and helps to open my eyes to new ideas. Invariably when I bring a problem home and share it with my wife, she will respond "what would Chris say?"

On a recommendation of a friend who had worked with Chris for years, I met with him over 5 years ago to hire his firm for help with my Taxes and finances. Having worked with a few different accounting firms I was very reluctant to work with a new firm. I came to really appreciate Chris's ethics and trust him after our first meeting. I was referred to Chris Finck 14 years ago because of a need for a CPA certification of home improvement expenses when paying off a loan that was pegged to the value of our home. Chris handled the task easily and gave us helpful advice on what kinds of expenses are considered improvements for tax purposes. When my personal taxes got complicated, I went to Chris for tax filing services. He was very professional and knowledgeable and helped us understand tax implications of financial choices. We also went to Chris for financial advising, and he gave us excellent advice that has proved beneficial in the long term. When I became trustee of a family special needs trust and asked Chris to handle those taxes as well, he provided the services and helped me make some difficult decisions about handling the trust. His staff (Dave Reitz and others) who work on the tax filings are nice to work with and do a great job, even when I sometimes send required docs close to filing deadlines (sorry!). In all of our interactions, Chris and his staff have been friendly and professional and highly competent. On the few occasions when the IRS or state tax board questioned a return, it turned out that the tax return was filed correctly, and it was the tax authorities who were mistaken. Chris and Dave handled these matters quickly and effectively without me having to do anything. It is hard to imagine Chris carrying out duties as a trustee in anything but the most ethical manner.

I have been using the services of Chris Finck since 2005. I bought my business from a former vendor of mine and, at the time, had no idea what I was getting into, such as corporate taxes and keeping the books. When I was referred to Chris I had been in business for myself for a little over a year. There was a lot of stuff we needed to go over and get through before he could file my taxes for 2005. During that time Chris was always patient and kind and led me through my minor "panic attacks" that I had about making sure that I did everything just right. Learning QuickBooks at the same time was a bit unnerving but Chris helped me with that, too.

That set the tone for all of the years to follow that I have been doing business with Chris. The other thing I really, really appreciate is that he makes himself available on the weekends when I have questions and, many times, the only time I am available, even when it isn't tax season. He's very knowledgable about corporate taxes and I feel confident that I will be professionally taken care of at all times. He has become a highly trusted advisor to me in my business, as well as with my personal taxes.

Last, but not least, one of the character traits I have always looked for in any CPA I do business with is one who does things by the IRS books, no funny stuff, because I never ever want to have to deal with the IRS. Chris is highly ethical and in total agreement with me on this.

I have referred several people to Chris and I take care to only refer the best to my friends. I give Chris my highest endorsement to anyone reading this who needs a great CPA.

Finck did my taxes for years, and is trustee for my children's trust fund. He has stopped sending beneficiaries and grantors the required annual statement, does not answer emails or letters. At one point, he began sharing sexual fantasies with me, so unpleasant but he held power over the children's trust. When we filed a motion to remove him, he right away spent trust funds for his own attorney at our children's expense fighting any attempt to remove him. We had to drop the action to prevent him from draining the trust. I warn everyone away from him. I wonder why Mr. Rudnick left the firm as he is our successor trustee. My disabled daughter can't get funds for health insurance from the trust either. Just shocking and disillusioning.

My wife and I are self-employed and have been using Chris Finck for well over 10 years. We feel so very comfortable with his professionalism, sincereity, honesty, and experience. Whenever we have had any questions or concerns we just call and he takes care of it. The bottom line is that he has been doing this for a long time and really knows his craft. We truly feel what sets him apart from others is that he truly cares about his clients and wants the best for us. I don't give too many recommendations but this gentleman is unique. We absolutley love the way he has taken such good care of us and our business. He makes our life alot easier.
