11 reviews for Finaghty's Irish Pub
What: random after dinner snacks & drinks.
When: last September
Who: with my cousin and his friend.
The stars are for their CRAB MAC AND CHEESE. It's sooooooooooooooooooooo goooooooooooooooooodddddddddddddddd.
I never knew crab went with mac & cheese! It's not very irish pub like, but SO GOOD.
Yum.
Food is a bit more than you'd expect for fare like sandwiches, burgers, etc. Most of the entrees looked average. I had their fish and chips which was okay, but to be honest you'd really have to screw up the frying for me to really hate it. Their fries are really good. They are crunchy and have this extra kind of ...crunchy texture to it. I might go back for just the fries.
They do have a lot of televisions around the place. The booths that I could see also had a small television set into them. So...if you live in the Snoqualmie area and have your tv break down and you need to watch the game....this would be the place to go
A close bar with moderate food - but a reasonable place to go if you want a nice tap selection. It being so close I've been there quite a few times so I am pretty familiar with the atmosphere. If only they could rename their - tini's to cocktails but it's an Irish bar so all is forgiven. With the revitalization of the classic cocktail the bar staff would do volumes in learning the 'classics'.
The staff is friendly, and it is good as a neighbood bar.
Everyone on the ridge knows the problem here. A very very slow kitchen at times. Food is just so-so for the normal time it takes them to get it to you. As a bar with lots of screens, it serves it's purpose.
I live on the Ridge, and despite Fin's being the only bar here, it's rare that I find a reason to actually go. Food is unimpressive, service is relatively poor, about the only positive is that they have Guinness. Sure it's fun with friends, but we can have fun anywhere. As others have mentioned, certainly not an Irish pub, not that it matters.
Well I must say I had HIGH expectations for this place, so we all drove out from Seattle to check it out.
Now dont get me wrong its pretty nice on the inside but thats about it. As the website states...
"Featuring 12 HDTV's we carry all of your favorite national and international sports"
Sounds great but then I looked around and all of the booths had these mini HDTV's at each booth with your own wall remote. What part of that is how did you say ...
"In the true spirit of traditional public houses..." Nothing about this is in the TRUE SPIRIT... To distract everyoneinto their own realm of just themselves is not traditional. Everyone enjoying EVERYONES company and conversation is in true fashion, thats what its all about, thats why people go to Irish pubs, to be engaged in multiple conversations and to meet a vast array of different people.
That was just walking in to the place.....
The staff was quite rude and unhelpful, especially the bartender with the tennis elbow band on his arm. In addition to serve a pint of Guinness in a 14oz tulip glass for I think $6, oh but you could upgrade it to a 20 oz glass for $1.50 more...WTF.
We carried on and ordered food...
The girls had the turkey sandwich which they MILDLY enjoyed, I had the Black and Blue sliders, which stated in the menu, Sliders with blackening seasoning with Blue cheese melted on top. Upon arrival they were absolutely horrible.... No blackening seasoning, No flavor.
I dont complain about food to the server because I am not out for anything free. I will pay my bill and just tell people not to go there.
Upon tryin to leave the same bartender couldn't figure out whose tab was whose. He kept giving the other group in my party the wrong tab.
Please dont waste your time on this adventure if you live in the city, you will be highly unimpressed.
To call this an Irish Pub is an insult....
For F*CK's sake they only have 4 irish Whiskeys(that were "FEATURED". You're an IRISH PUB feature all of your irish whiskeys... Not Scotches...)
-Jameson
-Jameson 1780
-Redbreast
-Bushmills
But they have roughly 16 scotches...It would be easier to call this a Scottish/Sports Bar than anything else...
....Oh and in response to this John G. character. I will give him the benefit of the doubt that perhaps their Irish Whiskey list has been added to since I was there, but it also seems like I am not the only one who feels this way.
Seems to me like this "John G" works for the place.
There are some irish pubs in town to the caliber of a pub back in the old country. That is why they are quite full of the hometown lads and lasses, as well as the Rugby teams.
You just need to check them out for yourself. I will not name specific pubs since this a review for Finaghty's. There is a quite cheerful one in Kirkland, South Lake Union, Magnolia as well as Everett which hold up the standards of Public houses.
Those of you who receive the email blasts from this website saw that firsthand.
Slainte mi caros....
What he said. ^^^
This place is an utter joke. That is unless you don't know what an Irish Bar is supposed to really be like.
Ok, OK. The place is light on the Oirish. So, let's reset the expecations a bit - on the location and its food and drinks. If I could give a 1/2 star I would make it a 3.5.
Ambience: The place is a pub, a-la Snoqualmie, if you like. The back bar is carved and beautiful from top to bottom with mirrors in back. Yes, the TVs are somewhat out of the usual for a traditional pub, but this is Seattle and it is not out of line with other places that call themselves Irish (e.g., see downtown Renton). The place is small, often crowded, and has a very neighborhood feel. If you are coming here from the city, visit the Falls and then come here for good meal. Don't expect to be greeted by a true Irish experience.
Drink and Food: This is why you came. The place has a good variety of beers, including Guiness and some other pub traditionals. There are bottled micros. The liquor is consistent with what you find most places. As for the whisky, there is more Scotch and Irish, though they have been building the inventory.
The food is good, not gourmet. Try the mac 'n cheese for a very buttery bowl of the stuff. The shepherd's pie is OK, though I prefer lamb and this is just beef. The ploughman's has a good variety of cheese. Their soda bread is very good.
Overall, this is a neighborhood watering hole with decent food and drink. If you want a cultural experience, what the hell are you doing in Snoqualmie? I live here...come on...
I sat outside on a semi-quiet night. It seemed the usual 'regulars' where there, and my wife and I ordered a Guiness and Hummus. Totally didn't like the appetizer (very spicy all around) and they didn't have any regular soda to serve. I didn't see much in the way of Irish except the usual 'fad' menu items and some Guiness. Probably not the worse place for a local bar, but not high on the Irish Pub scale. A McSorely's Ale House it is not.
LOL @ the Irish Bar snobs. Get over yourself. We (me, wife, year old son and niece) came in for lunch after going up Rattlesnake Ridge and we enjoyed ourselves. First off, the sevice was great, the girls handled our two mess/ noise makers with ease and kept our glasses full. We had potato skins( Top notch, fresh) for an appetizer, I had the fish wrap (good) wife had the mac n cheese ( she said she liked it) and kids kept busy on french fries( VERY good). The place is very cool inside, every booth has a flat screen, tall booths and an outside area. Is it the best food in the world? Nah. Is it a hard core Irish bar? Nope. Is it a nice place to have lunch or drinks? Sure is.
This bar has it all. Small town feel, great service, and cheap beer. It has the feel of a nice Irish bar, beautifully made and cared for. The food is great, with a huge selection. Packed most nights, lots of regulars, just a great place to hang out and watch the 15 tv's. I love it. Not sure what bar the other reviewers were at, but it wasn't this one. Perfect for this small town.
