This is one of the best restuarants in the puget sound. It's locally owned with its own flavor, a bit northwest, some cajun flare, and just Yummy. The owner/ chef is in the house everyday, cooking and making sure you have a good time.
They have amazing lunches too. They make their french dip with Prime Rib. YOu can tell it is goodnews, with great bread. The criss cross cut fries are just plain evil, they taste too good. I also like the blackened sandwich, the Seafood Louie salad is a steal, soo much seafood, crab, shrimp, salmon, piled high.
Service is great and it is a beautiful modern interior. It's in this restaurant hub in Renton, the epicenter of good food in the area, across the street is the Melrose steak house and Armandos is near by.
You will not be disappointed at Fin N Bone. While I'd call the place casual, it is beautiful inside, with table clothes, a seperate marble lounge, good for after work cocktails, or meetings.

AWESOME!!!!
The owner is the head chef and his wife greets you as you enter. The food is very very good. I've never had a bad server anytime I've been there. Their portions are generous and their desserts are enormous. If you're going to order dessert I suggest you split it. The bread pudding is large enough to serve 3.
You must have the organzola fries when you go. They are heavenly.
Came to FNB last night with my parents after arriving at SeaTac for the Thanksgiving holiday. I was a bit famished from the flight from LA + layover in Oakland, and was definitely game when they suggested grabbing a bite out. They'd been here one time prior with my brother and had been quite happy with the menu/food/establishment.
Despite their praise and assurances, I tempered my expectations. Being raised for the better portion of my life slightly South of Skyway/Rainier Beach I know what to expect from my city, and, as other reviewers have noted, fine dining is not on the list. Sorry Renton.
Fortunately FNB is not your typical Renton spot. The restaurant itself has a nice ambiance, solid dcor, and does not fall victim to the failures (i.e. outdoor lawn furniture) of so many other wannabe spots in the area. The menu is filled with a variety of tasty appetizers, fresh seafood dishes and succulent steaks. The hostess and servers are also extremely friendly, attentive, and not cheesy or overbearing.
We were promptly seated, and brought our water and focaccia bread. The bread was warm and quite good, although even with it being brushed with olive oil I found myself wishing they had brought a few pads of butter. Our group went with the calamari and crab/artichoke dip. The calamari was lightly breaded and cooked to perfection; not a rubbery piece in the bunch. Unfortunately the tarter sauce accompanying it was not to my liking, as it was too thick, plain, and mayonnaise-y. A marinara or lighter, spiced cream-based sauce would have been a huge upgrade.
For dinner I went with the 14oz Rib Eye, w/ a peppercorn & mushroom demiglaze. The steak was tender and juicy and prepared to my liking. The demiglaze really set things off properly, and provided a nice robust flavor to compliment the steak and garlic mashed potatoes. The side cesar I ordered was also fresh and flavorful.
All in all I was very impressed with FNB and it is easily the front runner for nicest restaurant in the area. Although there were a few shortcomings/missteps, it's great to see someone in Renton finally get it right and provide a wonderful dining experience. Hopefully this will have a ripple effect and force the other establishments in the area to step their collective games up.
Maybe, like my mom has been saying and at least one other reviewer noted, Renton is finally turning the corner. Allegedly a Trader Joe's may soon be on the way, which would go a long ways towards establishing some credibility. But even if that's not the case, next time you come to Renton in need of a great meal, whether it be for your cousin getting paroled, your 14 year-old sister having her second child, or simply winning your bowling league, check out FNB. You will not be disappointed.

Four stars? Three stars? Four stars? Three stars? The gut says "three," the mind says, "Do you just want to give it three because it's Renton and there are no tablecloths? Really?"
So I take into account the whole experience and the whole experience was good. The place has a nice feel to it and someone went to the trouble of making sure everything matches and it has a certain almost-swank appeal. But not quite. The formica-topped tables are the clunking note in the symphony of "We are expensive" surroundings. I can't help it. It gave me the impression they really want to be something, but they aren't quite sure how to be that something.
Okay, the food was good. Best by far was the hot bread they bring out with garlicky butter melting all over it, yum. They make their own margaritas so they're not sickly-sweet, which is good. The seafood was good and the chowder was good, but I'll put it this way: If you're already here, worth the trip. But it's not destination-good. However, the berry salsa (with strawberries and blueberries) was excellent. My husband very much enjoyed his maple chicken salad.
I did very much like our server. It was one woman for the entire restaurant (which admittedly wasn't very crowded) and she had a lot of good humor and attentiveness to spare.
So I'll give you four stars, Fin N Bone, and we'll see what the next visit brings.

I had a friend in town a couple months back and she was staying in the Renton area, so this place came recommended to me by a coworker. Renton seems to be having a boom (which is good for them) so parking was a bitch. So we got there, were promptly seated... but our server took forever! It wasn't really crowded either. Our drink orders got messed up, but since it took so long to get them, we didn't bother. Our appetizer wasn't too shabby (artichoke dip) and our entrees finally came... I got the coconut prawns which were GREAT and some veggies, which were cold and flavorless. My friend got scallops which she liked, but they were cold. It took forever to get the bill, etc... so we were disappointed. I talked to my friend and he said it must have been an off night.... If I am in the area, I may come back, but won't go out of my way.

This is a great establishment! Great food and great service. This is a nice place to come in and hang out at the bar and chop it up with friends or perfect strangers...just make sure you don't leave with the stranger (Life 101).

I came here on a business dinner (drug company event.) OMG the food is spectacular here. You don't expect to find places like this in Renton. Salad was unique and VERY good, seafood skewers were great. Try the shortbread cobbler, it is SOOOOO good and more than enough for two people. I would definitely come back when I felt like splurging.

Now we are eating! Oysters on the half shell, halibut cheeks and all you can eat dungeons crab on Sundays! The bar is a granite top that is fun to have a quite drink at before dinner or just stop by after work. The service has always been friendly and timely!
Hurray, Renton is moving up in the world of dining!

Great variety on the menu and enjoyable experience from start to finish.
We were greeted warmly by their staff on a Sunday night around 6PM promptly and seated immediately.
Note: we were summer casual (not a swimsuit and tube top -- but nice shorts and a button-up shirt), but next time I would wear business casual clothing. Jeans are likely OK.
Our group enjoyed the french onion soup, "Organzola" fries, and the garlic and cheese appetizers. For main entree, our party had crab cakes, chicken fettuccine and Cajun style chicken fettuccine, and another seafood dish (can't recall what it was). We finished with cheesecake (from Renton based Calico Cheesecake), a bread pudding, and a glass of port wine.
I like the fact that this place does truly have a menu that spreads it wide enough to please the seafood lovers and others. There have been some seafood specialty places that give you very little choice other than fish, fish, or shellfish.
The service was very good and attentive without being a distraction or annoyance. The food was ready in a timely fashion.
The bill was pricey, but it did include two rounds of drinks too. For four adults, with appetizers, meals, desserts, tax, and tip, it was in the $250 range. So for us, this was a definite splurge.
There is a parking lot with free (2-hour?) parking and usually on-street parking available even at busier times within a short walk away.

A bit on the expensive side (for Renton) but well worth it. This is fine dining like you'd usually only find in Seattle proper. Loved the salt crust cooked prime rib, best prime rib I've ever had. Fast service and a great ambiance.

Excellent ambiance, fabulous food and good drinks. I think its the best place in Renton, by far. We had the crab and artichoke dip - it was delicious. We plan on going back for dinner sometime soon.
