I'm so glad I intern downtown on Thursdays because that's the day the farmers market is going!!! The strawberries right now are pretty good to sample as you walk around stocking up and groceries or snagging a quick lunch. There's often a greek food truck, a pupusa booth ($3!!!), Peruvian fried rice, and other delicious smelling things.
Right now, I know one of the veggie booths has been selling 3 bunches of baby asparagus for $5 and bags of brussel sprouts for $1 each. Bomb. com. Get on that! -

I work just two streets away from Fig@7th. LUCKY ME! Somehow I began working at this new two-streets-away-from-Fig@7th location for a whole month before I found out about this place! Upon finding out I was torn between delight (for all the freakin' fabulous food that I would now be so close to) and outrage (that I missed out on a whole month of eating said delicious foods). Delight won out.
I have bookmarked their calendar of food trucks that appear Mon-Wed and have marked in my own google calendar the days my favorite trucks are out there. Fig@7th thank you for existing. Thank you for providing this wonderful space for these wonderful food trucks. You make my belly happy. My belly being happy makes me happy. Add in the sunshine, the fellow truck foodies, and the smells of delicious bliss often wafting in the winds and we have ourselves a winning combination. -

If you're like me, you try and avoid all construction zones like the plague. However, I am willing to deal with the minor inconveniences that the construction caused.
At first, I thought that it was a little overcrowded, but the way it is set up now allows me to see and shop vendors that I originally had no idea they were there. Instead of being spread out over the property, all vendors are intimately located on the top plaza level and you can still get anything from: clothing, jewelry, a variety of foods including (and my personal favorite) kettle corn.
If you still haven't been to the 7th & Fig Certified Farmer's Market, you have no idea what you are missing.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Ok I hate construction as much as the next person but this must be said! - Fig @7th is such a cool spot. It's undergoing quite a bit of a face lift at the moment and they estimate it won't be done till next year sometime but there is still some good activity going on there. Every Thursday there is a Farmer's Market upstairs behind the HUGE black wall. You'll find organic (local) honey, amazing Kettle Corn from Kettle Corn & Stuff, I am in love w/ Homeboys, Ind (hey Ray Ray), Embrace Sweets is the ultimate brownie spot and let's not forget George's Greek, hands down the best food on the plaza. They used to have a restaurant downstairs but now have a Food truck which they park on the upstairs plaza. Another great vendor is Mamae's if you're feeling like really cheating - and having a greasy, but incredible pastrami sandwich and fries. That's the spot to go.
All in all, this is still a good place just be patient. :-)Comment from Patrice H. of Fig At 7th 9/20/2011

Even with all the construction going on, th Certified Farmers' Market still ROCKS!
Every Thursday the center offers a fantastic Certified Farmers' Market that has the best gourmet flavored kettle corn from Kettle Corn & Stuff, a variety of fresh and organic fruits and vegetables, roasted nuts, baked goods from Home Boy industries, Raw Honey, Sea Salt, delicious brownies from Embrace, and many more food and arts and crafts vendors.
In addition to the weekly Certified Farmers' Market, Brookfield property continues to offer A+ service to all that visit the center. Where else in downtown LA can you get a diverse array of Gourmet food trucks every Monday - Wednesday that offer delicious cuisines that many restaurants only wish they can do. They rotate the trucks each week so that you can enjoy the best of the best of LA EAST STREET Food trucks; George's Greek Cafe is a staple, https://www.google.com...?src=pk9d5f1eb7mhgt31ar9siq...&ctz=America/Los_Angeles&gsessionid=OK -

This shopping and dining plaza is located on Figueroa north of Staples Center and Roy's Restaurant.
Fast food spots (including non-chains) are located on the bottom floor. There are a few shops, but none of them really stood out. For chain restaurants, they have a California Pizza Kitchen (might be an express one) and a Morton's. The Morton's is interesting because it is open for lunch (they feature a daily 3-course lunch special for $25). A Starbucks is also located on the premises (as well as a Bank of America ATM).
Despite the good name and nice banner/decoration overhead, the selection/variety at 7th & Fig is limited. I had heard that they are going to open a Target around here, which may make this area/plaza more attractive.
There are nearby parking lots (weekday flat rates vary by location--$5, $7 or $10). -

7th and Fig is currently undergoing a lot of construction! They used to have all these shops and restaurants at the underground level, but now all that is left seems to be California Pizza Kitchen.
With practically nothing left, why 5 stars? Because even with all the construction going on, every week, Monday-Wednesday, it's Food Truck Heaven on the upper plaza! Visit the 7th and Fig Website to find the calendar of which trucks will be there...and since it's only one block away from my new job...you know where to find me on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday!
Plus, they're adding a Target next year! =DListed in: DownTown LA

I had some time to kill so walked over to 7th & Fig to see what was there. It was okay.... they have free wifi and a bunch of shops to browse in, a food court and several restaurants.
I didn't think any of the shops were all that exciting or that I would make a special trip just to come here, but if you're in the area and want to rest your feet or just kill some time, it's okay.
They started Farmers Market here recently but it wasn't on the day I visited, I think I would've been more excited had it been a Farmers Market day. -

7+Fig is dying but they're performing CPR. Maybe it'll come back.
I was really bummed out when they moved the Wednesday Farmers Market from the Library over to Pershing Square. They've always had a Farmers Market at &+Fig on Thursdays and Fridays but it wasn't a viable one. Mostly the tamale, kettle corn and dried fruit and nuts vendors did the most business. Oh, and the flower stall.
They recently expanded to include actual stalls of fresh fruit and vegetables. I recognize most of the vendors from the old Wednesday Farmers Market. There are a few on the street level (you no longer have to go to the food court area) and more on the upper level (above CPK and the old Macy's). Most of the cooked food vendors are up here. Today, I got food from Banana Leaf touting themselves as "pan-asian" but really it was Filipino food. There are also a sausage and fresh fruit juices stall, pupusas, grilled fish, tacos and crepes. Oh, and "Tex-Thai."
Other than the Farmers Market, there doesn't seem to be much reason to to to 7+Fig these days. The Ann Taylor's is gone, Macy's is gone, even my fave Mrs. Beasley's is gone. The food court is wretched. I don't think much of the other stores though I feel a bit bad for the Vamara shop with its cool candles and other knick knacks.
I was hoping the art gallery would be open today. It wasn't but they have brought in a couple of interesting exhibits in the past.
Someone save this mall! STAT! Everyone talks about DTLA needing more shops and grocery stores. I don't think we need more grocery stores (hey, there's Little Tokyo and Ralphs besides all the farmers markets) but we do need shopping and maybe a movie theater that plays current movies. 7+Fig would be a great location for the stores found at an actual mall. I would hate to say a Gap would do the trick but seriously, with all the people working and living in Downtown, we can't depend on the one (frumpy) Macy's nearby.Listed in: Downtown LA

For people who work in the downtown or central city area, this place is a one-stop-spot for the busy, devoted worker. In this American Dream mecca, you not only can find a plethera of restaurants and food kiosks (and with quite the variety--sandwiches, made to order salads, greek, chinese, pizza, crepes--you name it they pretty much got it) but there is also a FedEx, a Gold's Gym, a dry cleaners, a drugstore and a Starbucks, to name a few.
And if you need to wait for your camera to be repaired or want to cool down after a lunch-hour workout, you can sit outside to enjoy the live piano player. And this dude is no joke. He gets hella into his music and plays everything from Mozart to Coldplay. And sitting in the sun sure doesn't hurt anyone.
Also, to up the ante, they have set up a farmers market throughout the outside seating area, so you can find freshly made kettle korn (always a great pick-me-up in the afternoon) flowers, or a variety of local food items.
Although I'm typically anti-mall, these outdoor plaza's are fine by me. And, if you're lucky and sneaky, you can try to crash the "private events" that rent out the In-and-Out Burger truck nearby.Listed in: Business Traveler's Guide (LA…

Actually it's not the victim of a poor economy.
The management company (Brookfield) has been raising rents instead of working with existing businesses to stay. One of the reasons is to attract bit retailer, Target (a rumored tenant). If they collect lower rents, the real estate is not worth much. If they raise their rents or maintain a certain rent, they will not lose money.
Odd way of thinking, but that's the only way they can get Target to pony up the big bucks. -

Ugh, what IS this place??? It's like a dead center or a ghost town! We were trying to find a quick snack before dinner and ended up walking into Panda Express. This is AFTER walking into a food court that only had 1.5 stalls open at 6pm. Wtf??? I guess this is more of a "lunch" spot, but that is truly ridiculous.
Oh, not to mention we paid 8 dollars for parking. Outrageous!!! -

I was sorely disappointed when I saw this. I mean, I guess it's a good place to go when you're on your lunch break, coming from the office buildings. But sheeesh, it's nothing fabulous! Sure, there's a Godiva, a Panda Express, a CPK, Ann Taylor, and a few more stores, but really? It just doesn't appeal to me. I really tried to like this place, but it was such a bore.
Props to their Farmer's Market. Actually, only to the Popcorn People. They have the damn best white cheddar popcorn! -

I guess the only reason this place is a tourist spot is because Mayor Villaraigosa has had speech(es?) at the plaza.
I've been there a couple of times mainly for lunch. It's a nice location in the midst of all the office buildings. Perfect for people who work around there. I've always wished that I could've visited more of the shops there. I went in the gift shop once on a Valentine's Day. Every Thursday and Friday they would have carts down in the quad of food court selling snacks, flowers, and... POPCORN! Well, I'm not a huge popcorn fan, but their popcorn are finnnneeeeee...! It's been a while since I last visited, I wonder if they still have popcorn now. -

I laugh out loud whenever I see this place listed as a must-see for tourists. According to my mother, this was number 2 for shopping in the LA area, and Rodeo drive was number 1. This place is perfect as what it was intended to be: a place of one-stop-shopping during you lunch hour. In the mall, you'll find a toy store, a macy's, a gold's gym, a florist, shoe stores, and other basics. Their international food court is nothing to scoff at, though, and I imagine I might go there every day if I worked closeby.

review of the parking structure and the sh!thead parking attendant who kept yelling at me
i had a birthday party to attend at Elevate which is just a block and a half away from 7th and fig. i remembered to wear my more manageable heels so i could walk over and avoid dealing with the valet at elevate. in hindsight i wonder if it was worth it.
upon returning to my car later that evening, i had a rough time getting myself to the exit. maybe i've become too dependent on my navigational system, maybe they need to delineate their exit arrows a little better, or maybe i really am just THAT dumb, but there was another car also driving stupidly around in circles so maybe it's not just me.
when i finally got myself to the exit, i inserted the parking ticket and then my credit card and proceeded to inch forward for the gate to open but not before being barked at by a parking attendant watching me from the other level. apparently my credit card was not captured. i then had to shift my car in reverse, and rinse and repeat.
so the trick is: your credit card needs to be inserted upside down with the magnetic strip on the right. just like the picture on the machine! i have a college degree, i can do this! so easy, right?
maybe i really am just THAT dumb because for whatever reason, i was having problems with this and was subject to the parking attendant again barking at me "NO, THE OTHER WAY. NO, TRY AGAIN. NO, YOU NEED TO PUT THE CARD UPSIDE DOWN. NO, THE OTHER WAY" much to the delight of the car behind me full of rowdy drunk boys hollering at me.
so thank you, 7th and Fig parking attendant, for allowing me to end my night with a complete sense of extreme mental retardation.
parking here was a humiliating $8. -

Love this place!!! Best place in LA to work and play. I've worked here for over 10 years and always enjoyed the restaurants/shopping, easy access to the freeway, the building and common areas are always well maintained, management staff seem to really have a sincere interest in what we want and need. We have the best of everything: great Farmers' Market, awesome summer concerts, great restaurants for lunch and dinner PLUS specialty Food Trucks and to top it off now we're getting a TARGET!!! Oh Yeah, 7th+Fig ROCKS!!!!

I am rating the parking at this place. There's a parking garage attached to 7th & Fig at Ernst & Young Plaza. For those of you who have had to park anywhere in downtown, you know it can be pricey. Take this tip. Get there before 9am and pay $7 flat fee for parking. Terrific when the Wilshire Grand Hotel charges $12 - with validation.

I went to opening day of the Farmer's Market last week and was so glad I did! I can walk from the loft, the market is jammed with offerings, what ever you may want or need to make a yummy farm fresh meal at home. This day though, I was not in the market for veggies, but I wanted lunch! I went for the Free tote bag and 3 "gourmet" tamales. I ordered one sweet corn, one chicken with chili and cilantro and one spicanch artichoke all with green sauce. When I got home, I was wondering how I was going to tell them apart. the corn was easy.... the other 2 both ended up being chicken so I didn't get to try the spinach one. I'm going this week too, so I'll mention it to the guy. The tamales were $3.50 each, quite large and the chicken was really good!! The corn was too sweet for me, not what I wanted, but good flavor. These tamales were CLEAN! The tomatillo sauce was sweet and delicious with the chicken. This week I'll go for veggies and try to get the spinach tamale!

Hooray for free wi-fi! 7+Fig is a great place to get some fresh air while surfing the web or doing work. They even have some nice chaise loungers set up on the top level. The shops and dining here aren't that great, but I do enjoy the CPK and Starbucks. Parking is free with validation, so even if you don't plan on eating or shopping, grab a coffee or tea at Starbucks and you're set with a few free hours. The place is pretty dead at night, but I go every once-in-a-while to dine or take-out at CPK.
