I hate the fact that I've paid over $150 a night to stay here.  On two separate occasions.   You'd think I would have learned my lesson the first time.

I'll give the place some credit though.  It's in a good location,  close enough to hit up the bars and restaurants on State Street for a $7 cab ride.  Or, if you're not wearing heels, an easy 20 minute walk.   Management is friendly, and there is a makeshift breakfast spread in the mornings (coffee, juice, muffins, danishes, and even do-it-yourself waffles).    But the positives don't exactly make up for the scratchy towels, uncomfy beds and outdated interiors.

It's a good option if you don't care where you stay, or you're too drunk to care where you pass out.   Depending where you look online, some sites say there's a two-night minimum.   Don't believe it.   You can book for one night if that's all you need.   If you have trouble, just call them directly to book and flirt with whoever answers the phone.  Worked for me!

Needed a place to stay over Labor Day weekend and this place had some rooms available.  There was a good reason why too.  Stained bedcovers and carpet, threadbare towels, no screens, and really uncomfortable beds.  It did have free HBO though you know a motel is pretty poor place when this is one of their key advertising points.

Even for a cheap beach motel, it was a pretty poor option.  I would recommend finding almost any other motel if possible.

fun and cute little place. small details of spanish and mexican design are sprnkled about the room either from the tiles in the bathroom or flooring to the wood on the door and trim and windows. our room was a little small for two people though it was the one around the corner and on the bottom away from all the other rooms so it was really private which i liked.

you cant really find nicely priced rooms in SB as most are very expensive. this one though was priced under 100.00 not bad for being a couple blocks from the bars, boutiques, cafes and clubs.

it gets 3 for design and cuteness

Ok, here it goes....
I knew this place was going to be a dump based on the many horrible reviews.  But, i found a website (hotel-guide.com) that allowed me to book this room for $113 a night over labor day weekend, when all other sites booked it at $230 a night.  I couldnt imagine having to pay $230 a night for this place.  I would have been so upset.
Nonetheless, the front desk guy was really nice.  When i told him i read about the horrible reviews, he just smiled and didn't try to defend the place.
There are no air conditioners in the rooms nor are there any screens on the windows.  They do give you a small desk fan. Oh and none of the lights worked in the room except for the bathroom light, which was attached to the loudest exhaust fan i've ever heard.  It's a $5 cab ride down State Street to all of the restaurants and bars, so that's a bonus.
If you arent planning on staying in your room much and just want a cheap place to crash, I'd say to stay here because it's close to everything.  But if  you like a nice comfy bed, soft sheets, lights and air conditioning, you should probably stay elsewhere.
