Yes, Feria Urbana translates to "Urban Fair". But this is not like a street fair. It's made up of various artisans, who make everything from soap to jewelry to costumes to hair accessories to greeting cards to purses to artwork. It's absolutely wonderful if you like unique beautiful items that you won't see anybody else with. It's also wonderful to support local artisans.

Each "Fair" is made up of a different group of artisans -- all depending on who signed up. So you can expect to find different things each time, although of course there are some regulars. Accordingly, you will find a different range of prices, products, craftsmanship, and personalities every time.

I believe this fair is no longer held at the Canvas Gallery because that venue closed.

Not really having expectations that I MUST buy something put less pressure and more fun into browsing.  I actually came here looking for a present for sis and mom, but ended up buying a li'l something something for myself.  I'm terrrrible, I know!  I have some time before Mother's Day, so I don't feel too guilty. =)

In comparison with some stores like Nordies or online boutiques, some prices are actually affordable ($25-35) for jewelry.  It's pretty good craftmanship and doesn't look el cheapo.

There were some baby clothes, nice baby bags, hand painted terra cotta pots, stationery, and notebooks recycled from old books.

This was the last fair at Canvas Gallery and will be at the Oakland Musuem of California this Friday.

Feria Urbana provides a great way to support local artists and get some sweet clothing and other crafts as a reward. The quality and design is top notch. I bought one of my favorite jackets here from Dopeness Monster.

If you are looking to buy a gift, especially if it's for a female, this is a great place to find unique or small run items that are sure to impress.

Event: I attended this event when it was held in the parking lot at the Canvas gallery! Cool event, I got to meet alot of awesome designers including Fluffy Jo, Ashley Taylor, Stellarocco, Mediums to Masses, and Lolo bags. Very unique items including graphic tees, jewelry, and bags made out of tyvek material!

Location: Was held in San Francisco at the Canvas, I believe they also have this in Oakland.

Price: Not bad, some designers had cheap $10 bins and regular priced tees were around $20 or so.

Yeah Feria Urbana!!!  I finished my Christmas shopping at your fair this weekend.  I wish I had more money because I would've left with a ton of earrings and funky necklaces and chunky rings for myself.  Alas, I will have to wait until next month.

Perfect place to find that one of a kind gift for your one of a kind friends are family!  And it's a great way to support local artists without breaking the bank!

Over the years, this has been one of my favorite fashion happenings to check out. It's billed as an urban fair, and that's pretty much what it is. Imagine a bunch of cool and local designers - everything from clothes and hats to housewares and art - all in one place, and most of which you can't find in any other retail environment.

Perfect place to pick up gifts for friends or more importantly yourself! I've gotten a few limited edition t-shirts, a deformed stuffed animal rhino, a couple of belts, some jewelry for friends...

It normally takes place at Canvas Gallery, so it's easy to grab a beer or glass of wine and shop, mix and mingle, repeat. They happen every few weeks, so sign up for their mailing list to keep up.

Go here for one-of-a-kind holiday presents for the family and friends. The trinkets, jewels, clothes and what-not tend to be a little pricey, but they come from local business-owners who put their hard work and love into making these crafts. I only wish it was larger and could fit more vendors. Last holiday season I went to Feria Urbana and picked up earing for my mom, a shirt for my sister and an adorable onesie for my in utero nephew. If you want to buy a loved one something out of box, make a visit to Canvas for Feria Urbana. It rockity rocks

As you may already know, I love useless junk. I am to Feria Urbana as a fat kid is to an open-all-night-chinese-food-and-donut joint. Throw in great weather, some hung over friends, and the promises of brunch on some (any) patio, and you've got 4 lazy twenty-somethings schlepping out to the Sunset to engage in *hip* consumerism.

I say *hip* because I feel somewhat justified when I'm buying from local vendors as opposed to ....shit, if its cute, I don't really care.

The GET: pucci-like make-up bag ($12.50) and gold/amber hoop earrings ($20). Schlep all the way back through the park in uncomfortable shoes - priceless.

Feria Urbana gives you the chance to come & support local artists & buy some really great items.  Every month is different with new vendors, but you could always find some of the regulars selling their items.

For shoppers, this is a great place to find one of a kind items that will make people jealous & wonder & ask you where you got them from!

For vendors, this is a wonderful opportunity for you to introduce your items to the public, gain lots of feedback & make some money at the same time!  I sold my handmade earrings  there & for the price you pay (which is very reasonable compared to other venues), Feria Urbana prints flyers with names of all the vendors so you could hand them out, mail them, or leave them around to be picked up. I think it's great that they advertise!!

Even though Canvas Art Gallery closed, Feria Urbana is expanding & having more locations for events.  It's worth checking out or giving it a try at selling your items!

I found this perfect dark brown wool dress here. Unfortunately for me, it had no zipper on the side, but it was my size. The material was just not stretchy enough to pass my shoulders. Had it had a zipper along the side I would have snatched it up.

But they had some really cute jewelry and unique clothing items. It was fun to go to. I mean who couldn't love shopping in a cafe with food and drink right nearby. Also the ceiling in the cafe part is amazing. It's this beautiful orange crepe paper dangling on strings from the ceiling. It makes me feel the autumn indoors while I'm warmly sipping on coffee.

This is a great place to pick up a gift for your wife, girlfriend, and/or mother (boy stuff too.)  "Feria" is a great way to direct some of those disposable income dollars away from the likes of the Wal-Marts and Gaps of the world and into the hands of local artisans and crafts people.  Hosted at The Canvas Gallery,  it makes the perfect lead of follow-up to a walk though GG Park or hell even the an all-day event since "The Canvas" now represents with a FULL BAR! Weeee shots!

Check it out...best of all its FREE!

A great local Fashion event where rising local designers present their work.  Their web site is www.feriaurbanasf.com for a list of their designers.  On their Saturday 5/28 show they will also have Absolutely Audrey Shoe Clips as one of their exhibitors.  Don't miss!

This is an amazing urban fair made up of local artists and designers selling their goods.  Everything from clothing, jewelry, handbags, ceramics, photography, baby items and more to shop for.  All made/designed locally.. support bay area artists and designers!

The vibe is always lively and energetic, but not hectic.  Events are always free to get in, and always a good time.  Check out the website for details, to get an application to be a vendor or to sign up for the email list. http://www.feriaurbana...

Before moving to LA, my friend and jewelry designer, Hovey Lee, presented her work at Feria Urbana.  It's similar to Appel and Frank's designer fairs, in that there's clothing, jewelry, handbags, ceramics, and more.  Unlike Roshni, I wouldn't compare it to the crafts people on Telegraph Avenue.

In addition to buying at local boutiques, this is a great way to support handmade/locally designed goods.

hardly a fair...about 10 booths of local craftsmen (mostly jewelry makers) are set up inside the canvas gallery/cafe.  what you see is pretty similar to the crafts people peddle along telegraph in berkeley or along market and 4th.  the stuff is cute but very over-priced.  it also results in the canvas being much more crowded than usual!
