Review from Veronika P.

After having read the reviews already posted, as a seasoned dry cleaning customer, I have to weigh in. I've been having clothes dry-cleaned on a weekly basis for over 25 years and during that period of time, I've tried many SF dry cleaners. Fell Depot Cleaners is tops!
I've been going there since they opened, lured in by a 20% off coupon. I asked for a continued discount and receive 10% off because I am a regular customer. Their facility is spotless, the service is professional and the quality of their work (both dry cleaning and alterations) is faultless.
I have entrusted them with altering 10 pairs of work slacks; dry cleaning several pairs of floor-to-ceiling drapes; dry cleaning an imported, hand-knitted-from-hand-crafted wool (i.e., ridiculously expensive) pillow cover and my regular work clothes dry cleaning.
They offer parking and carry my items to my car. They are kind to my dog. And the owner wears a hint of Chanel #5, as did my deceased mother, bringing back lovely memories.
Their prices are in line with their services. If you want cheap, let your dry cleaning pile up and go to Zephyr Cleaners on Balboa (see my review) for a volume discount. If you don't need to park, go to Sunshine Cleaners on Fulton (they are equally nice there, but the parking is hit & miss and I really don't think they are any cheaper, although you might be able to talk them into 20% off).
I am a bargain shopper, not afraid to negotiate for a better deal, and I think Fell Depot Cleaners is a welcome addition to the NOPA neighborhood. -

I wanted to like this place because it's across the street from my house. However, they have ridiculously high prices, and I didn't have a particularly inspiring dry cleaning experience. I asked them to remove a few bean dip stains on the sleeves of a jacket, but when I came back to pick it up, the stains were still there. The woman was apologetic and fixed it for free (stains are gone). Okay, people make mistakes, I'll let it slide.
But then, for some reason all the items I had dry cleaned came back with the smell of mildew. Is this the natural smell of the "green" solvents they use? I don't know, but I don't want any more of my clothes coming back smelling this way. Probably won't be taking my stuff there again. -

Awful. She ruined my dress and wouldn't give me a refund. I will never go back. Incredibly rude and pretends she doesn't speak English. I am so disappointed and have to take it elsewhere to see if she can fix it. Poor poor service. Highly recommend saving your clothes by taking them elsewhere. I will be contacting the owner after she gets back from her vacation in "2" weeks.

Actual dry cleaning is fine...if you actually get back the same clothes you brought in. On my first time visit, I returned to pick up my clothes and the lady couldn't find my order. Luckily for me, my clothes were hanging out ready to be covered in plastic, so I was able to point her in the right direction. Now, about a year later, I picked up my clothes and found a random custom-made men's shirt in along with my order. The name of the owner is even stitched on the inside of the shirt, so who knows why it was with my clothes. It's one thing to pay $$ for good work, but another when there's a real possibility you will only get some of your clothes back.

I've only used Fell Depot Cleaners for their repair service; this review does not address cleaning at all.
I never really know what to think of tailors. I had an awesome one in Whittier, California, an older guy named Ben who hemmed your pants for ridiculously cheap prices. You never knew when he would actually get around to your stuff, but you loved the guy anyway.
Ever since Ben retired, I've been looking for a place to repair all the pairs of pants I have that are otherwise wearable except for the ridiculous holes in the knees and/or inseam. I literally have--or had--this pile of holey pants in my room.
Anyway, when I found a hole in one of my favorite pairs of pants, I decided that enough was enough. I carted all six pairs of pants over to Fell Depot on a Sunday--only to find out that they're closed on Sundays. Rare for me, I persevered and brought them in the following day. I explained to the woman working that I wanted all the holes patched. Although it was sometimes difficult to understand her because of her accent, I got my point across, paid up front, and left.
When I got home, I read the Yelp reviews of this place and got worried. Would she ruin my pants? Was it idiotic of me to pay up front?
I came back to retrieve my pants, and the same woman was working. She was very proud of her work, and as I pulled each pair of pants out of the bag, I agreed that she had done a good job. When I had brought the pants in, I told her I was only interested in having the holes patched. Almost all the hems were frayed, but I don't care about that. Anyway, the woman had fixed the hems of two of the pairs of pants and didn't charge me for it. She was very adamant about how good a deal I had gotten because she hadn't charged me for the additional work.
She did do a good job of hemming, and like I said, I honestly didn't care either way about the hems, but if I had been one of those people who wanted to keep the frayed hems, it would have pissed me off that she had repaired them without asking me. But I'm happy.
As far as prices go, I don't know what to say. It seemed more expensive than I've paid for alterations or repair, but when I think about how much skill goes into working with a sewing machine and one's hands, I can't really fault a place for charging for quality work. I realize this flies in a the face of fair-market values and all that capitalist BS, but my grandfather worked in a sweater factory, and my grandmother was a seamstress, so I have a soft spot in my heart for people who are all too eagerly exploited by ridiculous Americans who believe it is their God-given right to have their clothes made (and repaired) cheaply by women of color.Listed in: Within One Square Mile of Me

I've been burned by a few cleaners in my hood, so i was happy to try this new one out. Ive been coming here for months since its opening and i have been very happy with them every week. Nothing lost yet (crossing fingers).
Dry cleaning & alterations are near perfect. I brought in a lined blazer and they did an outstanding job taking in the sleeves and adding suede pads to the elbows. I also brought in a new pair of Seven jeans to be hemmed with the original end. After she pinned them and I was at the counter, I asked her to make them a smidge longer and she agreed. When I picked them up and tried them on they were too long. Totally my fault and I brought them back to be taken up a little bit more. I was shocked when she did not charge me again!!!!
The main lady at this place is super nice and pleasant. Not to mention parking at this place is great since they have a garage.Listed in: My Neighborhood

As I'm always shopping at Delessio, I decided to check out the cleaners located on the other side of the same parking structure. Indeed, I haven't paid prices like this since I moved from Pac Heights. I'd expect prices like these North of California or in SOMA, not NOPA.
But in this case, you are definitely getting your money's worth. They did a fantastic job, with great attention to detail. I will definitely continue to take my nicer pieces here. Evidently they have a 20% off coupon circulating, so make sure to find that first, and that should make the cost more palatable. So 5 stars for quality and convenience, and minus one star for the cost. -

They may be nice, but check your friggin' pockets, cause you've been robbed.
Almost had a heart attack when I came back to pick up my clothes.
I notice that another yelper was given "green practices" as a reason for steep rates.
If they're so green, why are they using heavy-duty plastic to cover each article of clothing? -

DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CLOTHES! Took my 2 piece suit there and when I got it back I notice a tear in the left pant leg next to my knee. This is unacceptable and unfixable. It's been a week and the owner yet has gotten back to me nor gave me back my destroyed pants.
Plus the prices are ridiculous. You can find cleaners less than a block away for half the price. Go here if you want get ripped off! -

Absolutely agreed that this place is outrageously priced. However, I do think you get what you pay for - somehow my clothes looked brand new after getting cleaned. I doubt I'll be back due to the high prices, but I was pleased that I got my money's worth.

Far and away the most ridiculously overpriced dry cleaner ever. I took 4 shirts and 2 pairs of pants here. She told me it would take a week. Now, I'm not exactly impatient, but my old dry cleaner was the in-by-9-out-by-5 type, so it irked me a bit. Nevertheless I just moved to the neighborhood and wanted to give them a try. I come back 6 days later to pick up my clothes, and the bill is $79. I almost fainted. When I asked about it she said the prices were due to their "green" business practices.
See if I ever go back here again. 2 stars because the woman who works here, though somewhat dim, is very nice and I have a feeling she isn't responsible for the prices or turnaround time. -

Yes, on the pricey side, but as the daughter of a former family owned dry cleaning business...it is worth it. If you want quick and dirty, and don't mind the dirt - this is not the place for you.
If you like a place that routine filters their perc, pay on!!! -

For dress alterations, this place is awesome!
The bridesmaid's dress that was mailed to me was about 4 sizes too big, in no way shaped like me, and strapless. Gloria firmly took care of that. And she did it all on a tight timeline, gave me a random discount, and even gave me napkins to wipe the sweat off my forehead when I biked there like a crazyperson after work to squeeze in a fitting before they close. I felt great wearing it at my brother's wedding, and danced the night away worry-free. -

Clean, modern cleaners conveniently located next to Falletti's on Fell Street. They give out tagged bags for return customers.

Not only have I reported this business to the Better Business Bureau, I will likely be bringing them to Small Claims Court. I loved their location, and I had brought some items for alterations just a few days before (very overpriced, but very convenient location for me, so I returned). I brought 4 brand new curtains (2 sheer, 2 brown) for the same window. I had safety-pinned them to the length I wanted. When I brought them home, I realized the sheers were the correct length (but uneven by ONE INCH) and the brown curtains were cut 20 INCHES TOO SHORT! I have no idea why she did these differently. When I returned, she was belligerent and said, "Do you think I'm stupid?" Her English was a bit limited, and she couldn't admit that possibly she misunderstood, or made a mistake. She then refused to get me in touch with the owner. I had to call back several times before she gave me the number. When I got in touch with the owner, the first thing she said was, "I know who you are and you're not getting a refund." She refused to let me even finish a sentence, repeatedly claiming this was all my fault and that the seamstress was following MY instructions. I finally told her I didn't want to have to go to Small Claims court to which she told me to go ahead, said thank you, and hung up on me. I can't believe the disrespect and lack of customer service these people have. I've never been treated like this. Fell Depot Cleaners is WAY overpriced and has HORRIBLE customer service. God forbid you're not happy with their results- YOU WILL REGRET IT!
