Picture me driving down El Camino in an early 90's convertible Mercedes , paint dull from the sun. I'm on my way to FedEx Kinkos to drop off some Polo button up shirts my boss auctioned off on Ebay and this is his car. After Kinkos I will likely fill up at the Arco that he designated saving 3 cents and grab him a sandwich from Subway , sub of the day of course.
This is what my days were like, I was at FedEx KInkos at least three times a week. Fast, efficient service in case you were wondering.

My experience started off here as a very negative one. I had 10 files that I needed printed in color for school but had them only saved to my email. I was instructed that I would need to use the self-serve computers to access my files. At 40 cents a minute, I justified in my mind that this would be reasonable if I could be very, very quick. However, the computer was SO slow. By the time I could even get to my email, I was already 4 minutes in. Then there were problems printing... more minutes ticking away. I called an employee over to help and she got it printing but was going to charge me 99 cents a copy. I was ready for a melt-down! A poor college student doesn't want to pay $20 to print 10 stupid pages!
Fortunately, the employee was quick to pick up that I wasn't very impressed (I did tell her I couldn't afford to print them for 99 cents on top of all the minutes when the advertised price was 49 cents -- apparently this rate doesn't apply to self-serve printing). So she reimbursed me all the money and told me she'd help me print from her workstation where I could get the 49 cent rate. Long story short, she couldn't figure out how to print them on her computer so that they would fit to page. So I walked away empty-handed.
I'm torn over the rating. The employee was great (after my almost-melt down) and tried to get my pages to me BUT I ended up leaving without anything because she couldn't figure out how to print the pdf files properly.
Crappy customer service. No smiles and LONG LONG LONG lines. They only put 2 people at the counter...tops! No matter how many people are in the building, usually only one person is at the counter offering assistance.
Got a project that takes overnight processing? Good luck having them call you if there is a problem! I had to pick up a project early Monday at 7:00 am (when they open) and they weren't done! In fact, they had not even started! I even left my personal cell # for them to call. I griped a little about that, but they were able to get things out to me by noon. Geez! If they could have done it in 5 hrs anyway, why did I have to wait the entire weekend???
I go here, only because its close, but I dread it each time I have to. :(

When did it get so expensive to make copies?
I hadn't been to Kinkos in some time, it'd been so long that I was still looking for the old counters that you used to stick into the copier so they knew how many copies you made.
I saw the kiosk for the debit cards, but couldn't figure out how to put money on them with a credit card. I stood there for a while, in an empty store, reading the tutorial over and over. No one ever came to ask if I needed help. When I finally asked, I was told, "what? don't you know you can just use a credit card [at the copiers]". If I knew that, I wouldn't have asked!
So, I couldn't find the prices per copy at the copiers, and now everyone was apparently too busy to help me again. So, I selected b/w, entered 50, and pressed print. (3 pages, 2 front to backed into one sheet, and 1 additional page.)
A minute or so later, and 100 pages of xeroxes later, I saw how much I had spent, $100.00! One hundred dollars? What the hell? Okay, if my math is right, and I calculate 3 pages of text xeroxed 50 times, that's 150 pages divided by $100.00, which equaled $0.34 a copy. That's outrageous!
Since when does it cost $0.34 to make a single copy? It would have been cheaper for me to have printed the pages at home on my own printer. I doubt I would have taken more than one ink cartidge, costing me $40.00 at Costco.
Kinkos, you ripped me off!

This is your average Kinko's. I prefer to go to Copyland (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) on Steven's Creek, but you might want the combined services this location offers. It claims to be a Wi-Fi Hotspot (I haven't tested it). This location is NOT open 24 hours.
At first I walked in , the only 2 employees were occupied with something they were already doing. So I just spoke out myself and asked them if they can print picz from a cd. So Kevin(employee#1) says yah and therez the machine right there, and that I can get started and I told them that i might need some help and he said he would be right there.
He comes around in like 10 minz.. and then hez like im sorry this machine doesnt work, which I didnt know becuase the sign was sitting on the other machine, which I suppose was part of it.
So then I just said look I only gotta print 4 picz man.. can we just use their computer and find the pic, since it was already 8 and I didnt think he was in the mood to work, I thought he would of said no.
Tara the other employee was so nice by her behavior but with the tired look, she was like yah we can do it dont worry.
Dont be fooled by their tired and occupied lookz. They let me use the computer and take my time to find the picz.. Since each pic was on different cdz and each cd had like 250/300 picz...
Since they were slow not much customerz to deal with anyway, Kevin started chattin it up with me, and it wasnt that bs formality small talk..
Each time I picked the picture and had to print it, eventhough I wasnt satisfied with the print.. these people printed my picz like freakin million times until I was satisfied.
BEST PART I didnt even have to pay for the extra printz that they had to keep printing... and they also cut up my picz, which was something as a customer you can do yourself.
Obviously I was there till closing, since picking picz printing, cutting etc.. even then I messed up on a pic, and they reprinted and everything...
I mean they were soo nice.... no bitching about me being picky of itz too dark, light etc. Let me stay even while they were doing their closing procedures. Didnt rush me or tell me that you can pick them up 2morrow.
They were just hella nice and patient, and didnt care that I was there forever.
First time being in that location, and awesome service by Tara and Kevin so a BIG 5 for them...
