I LOVE this place. Family and I went for Halloween this year. It was my first visit and it was quite memorable. The book store is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous. I looked through their whole website because the people who work at Fearrington put a lot of love and work into the place.

I didn't get to dine anywhere, but they have a restaurant and I think a take&go place. I could spend HOURS in the bookstore. My niece and nephew got to hear a story on Halloween. THe place was covered in pumpkin carvings and turnip carvings hanging from trees! SO cute.

If I ever plan on getting married, this would definitely be an ideal spot for a reception, and possibly a ceremony. I've read about the Barn, and it was featured in the Today show. This would be a dream spot for any bride, I would think.

Can't wait to go back when they light up for the holidays!!

It's a bit of a hike out to Fearrington, but worth it for the change of scenery. It's a popular venue for weddings, with it's open-air country side and grazing cows. There's not really too much in the way of shopping -- a nursery, a cute two-story store with accessories, a cafe, a bookstore -- but the atmosphere is really inviting.

Fearrington has several venues for events, including the main house, the Barn (which sometimes even partners up with McIntyre's for open-to-the-public author events), and smaller meeting rooms. So in addition to weddings, it's a good place for corporate functions.

Lots of neighborhoods in Fearrington, too. If it's in your price-range and you don't mind the commute, it's a beautiful place to live. There's even a lake with surrounding trails.

I was a little upset when mom moved from being a long car ride to being down in NC.  Then I went with my infant son to visit.
She has a huge house (which is still considered a town house) for what we paid for our condo in Boston.
There were several things to do in the Village itself and it's not to far from Raleigh or Durham.   I can't wait until my son is older and he can go look at the belted cows and the goats.

my friend had her wedding at fearrington village - very beautiful place for a wedding!  her ceremony was in the garden - they have a few outside options for a ceremony.  it was a lovely setting, probably better for a wedding under 100 people though.  the cocktail hour was outside the barn and the reception was inside.  i know when i say "barn" you might think that its not classy, but the decor was beautiful and the food was outstanding.  i would definitely recommend it!
my friend, her husband, and family also stayed at fearrington and thought the rooms were great.

I actually haven't eaten here all that much outside of our wedding, but it's a beautiful place. After we spent a ton of time scoping out the outer banks and trying to coordinate 100 different vendors for our wedding, the wife switched gears and decided to do it at Fearrington.  She and Gilda, their coordinator, made my life pretty easy.  All I had to do was sign the checks and show up in a suit with some of my friends!  Ok, I might be oversimplifying a bit, but anyone who knows what a nightmare wedding planning can become, should checkout what Fearrington has to offer.  Gilda runs a very tight ship and they did a great job with just about everything.  They are also completely open, if you decide to use additional vendors for anything.  If I was going to be picky, I would say the cake was just mediocre, but we had an assortment of desserts, so that wasn't a problem (which were excellent).  It's hard to believe it's been well over a year now.
