I've been going to Faux for a year now, and so far I've never had a color job that I haven't liked...some I've liked more than others, but I have an overall satisfaction with the salon. It's an expensive salon, but I always say, you get what you pay for.

Lately I've been going to Coco. She does a fine job with color. She spends time talking to you about your hair and what would look best on you.  I really enjoy the one-on-one attention you get from her.

I would also recommend Gina.  She is talented and great with color.  My only issue with her is that I kind of felt like I was on a conveyor belt when I would go see her.  The times I went to her she had 2 or 3 clients going at the same time...spending 10, maybe 15 minutes with them, and then her assistant would take over.  The assistant does the majority of the work.  In a way, I understand, because the assistant is an aspiring stylist, and how else is she going to learn.  But maybe if she did a better job at at styling, it wouldn't have been such a issue for me.  Call me selfish, but I like to be the center of attention when i get my hair done.  So, if you don't mind the conveyor belt atmosphere, and her assistant doing most of the work, then go to Gina.  I don't mean for this review to sound negative- Gina's good.  She's very personable.  It's just a matter of personal preference.

And another update!

I have referred a couple of friends here who now see Agie.

The other day I HAD to have my hair cut--it was driving me crazy because I was trying to wait as long as possible between cuts (recession budget). Well, I couldn't wait any longer and Liz wasn't available, so I went to Isaac.

I know a couple of people who were Isaac's clients and I've witnessed his magic sitting in Liz's chair across the way. He and I had a great time trying to figure out what to do with my hair that would be different and cute. He asked me questions and then came up with something that he started to form on my head.

I'm still getting used to it and have received a bunch of compliments today. Awesome! Sometimes it's good to get a different perspective--but I always seem to go back to Liz--she doesn't freak out or give me a guilt trip for seeing someone else sometimes.

For the longest time (years), I'd get long layers cut with Desiree, but recently I went short. Yay, she gave me a fun short cut that I can manage at home, and I like how it's not exactly the same cut each time. I trust her enough to just do what she thinks will look good, because honestly, I don't come to every appt with a magazine clipping.

I realized that I've never reviewed my salon. I'm such a crap customer!

I've been seeing Liz pretty much exclusively for the last several years. Previously I was all about Los Gatos salons but my favorite hair stylist moved on to a new career. Lo and behold, Faux is down the street from my apartment and Liz blows my old stylist out of the water.

I've never had so many compliments on my hair before her. If I'm stuck in a hair rut (which happens a lot), she whips something out of her bag of tricks that makes my hair look both different AND amazing. I've run into other stylists that regardless of how they cut your hair, it always looks the same. That NEVER happens with Liz. She's amazing!

The price has gotten higher ($63 for a haircut - no color) but I've always been willing to pay more for quality. She knows that my hair grows insanely fast and is always willing to cut my bangs a bit shorter than she'd like so they'll look right for more of my haircut. If I got long bangs, I'd have to get them cut every 2 days, I swear! Her cuts also grow out amazingly well. I typically only see her every 3 months - less if I'm growing my hair out.

I've never had a color done by her because I'm trying to reclaim my hair virginity. Maybe one of these days.

Been coming here since college.  Never had a cut I didn't like.

I see Coco these days, and really enjoy both the styles and the conversation.  She always makes me look good, and is most enjoyable company.  As I have difficult hair, with cowlicks and curls, I deeply appreciate the great work, and the consistency of it.

Update:
The tiny dog hasn't been seen in a while, but now there's a really big one wandering around. I know pet-friendly places are popular, and a salon is a better place for them than a restaurant - but I just don't care to have animals (other than birds in a cage perhaps) around in businesses other than pet stores, unless they're service animals.

Also, their prices keep going up - a natural progression - but it's getting a bit steep for me lately.

I've been coming to Faux off and on for several years. The first time I came, I was dedicated to a stylist that eventually moved, so I tried several different salons, punctuated by visits to Faux.

I've seen Gina and she is to die for. I've seen Emily and she is great, too. Cari did an excellent job on my hair.

I should know by now that I need to plan my salon visits there well ahead of time to see a preferred stylist, but my life doesn't have the sort of consistency that allows for planning that far ahead. So I usually schedule a week to several days in advance.

I recently made an appointment and none of the above were available, but only had one certain day that I could get my hair done, so they had me see another stylist. I will not mention her name because I really don't want the poor girl to get in trouble. She was a nice girl, but told me way too much about her personal excapades the night before, as well as some, eh... *incriminating* information about another person who works at the salon. Ok, I am down for fun and partying like everyone else and I am certainly not a prude, but I have never met this person before and I feel that maybe I should know someone a little better before being told so much.

Anyhow, I was there for color and a cut.

Cleaned up my cut and that was easy enough, but I really needed the whole shape cleaned up, not just a little trim.

The color was ok, she said it would change into something more like I had asked (was there for highlights). I am now sitting here three weeks later with a really icky color and now I have to find the time and money to do it all over again. In the meantime, I have sad hair color. I wanted to be lighter and now I am darker... Not happy.

I would give this place four or five stars but they don't accept bank cards (cash or check only) and I think they need to put more effort in teaching stylists how much to tell a new client, as well as training those with not much experience on how to manage color and highlights properly.

Not sure if I will go back... May be time to move on from Faux.

It's all about Iris at FAUX.  I've been going to this hair salon for 10 years, and  have tried other ritzy salons here and there in between those years and always end up back in Iris's chair.  Girlfriend has got it going on!  She's been with the salon and serving on Michael's kick-ass crew long enough to know how to give a badass haircut and not over charge you for it.

Be aware, this is an eccentric hair salon, there's all sorts of funk going on inside.  Crazy shaped mirrors, local artist's works on display, pink/blue/green/purple hair everywhere, but don't get discouraged!!  It may appear all urban and edgy from the outside, but you can get a very 'normal' haircut & color here too.  Iris will not disappoint, tell her I sent you, she'll give you extra care.  :)

Still in love... 3 hairstyles later!

My bangs grew out beautifully, we didn't have that awkward extended goodbye that you usually get with straight bangs.

Desiree thought I would look great with shorter hair, so we cut off 14 inches.  Walked outta there with a smokin chin-length bob, which was the perfect prescription for summer.

I'm really not a good client, I forget to schedule maintenance trims and I let my roots grow halfway down my head before I'll remember to get an appointment.  Yet every haircut I get from Dez keeps its shape and looks beautiful even when it's 2 inches over-grown.  Somehow even the color (and lack of) worked out, now it looks like highlights.  True testament of the work of a great stylist.

I've been here a few times now.  The first time I went I was in love because I pretty much just let the stylist (Jason) do whatever he wanted and he gave me a very stylish bob.  Unfortunately, the last few times has been satisfactory.   I liked my cuts but not enough to justify the $65 fee.   My last cut was good, but it definitely did not look like the picture of the cut I actually wanted.  My haircut looked identical to the person getting her haircut behind me!

Negatives:  it is customary to pressure you into buying a salon product, they only take cash, and the receptionists are rude.

yelp is great and all but you just never know when you're gonna get a dud amongst a sea of glowing reviews. LUCKILY, my experience at faux was ABSOLUTELY in line, in fact even better, than what yelpers noted.

i called for an appt, asking the receptionist who she'd recommend for a gal with naturally curly hair. she named off a few and i asked her who she'd recommend outta that list and she said jason. so jason it was.

it wasn't just an initial consultation of "what do you want" and then snipsnipsnip. throughout the appointment, i'd ask q's on what he recommends based on what i like and we'd change directions based on that conversation. without exception, i followed his advice. chop off the back? sure. get some highlights? ok.

and the end product? well, let's say i've never EVER walked out of a salon with such a big grin on my face. sure it cost a pretty penny ($187 for cut and color. don't worry tho - a cut is just $60 so that's pretty standard) but wow. i am completely in love with myself. even more than before. ;) juuust kiddin'.

and not only did he constantly ask and give feedback but there wasnt that annoying chatter some ppl do to fill the quiet either - nothing forced.

he gave me a tasty coffee drink and even brought in and showed me his dog, harlow, while i was sitting in the heating chair.

he's got a vision but won't force it on you. his execution and professionalism made for a more than comfortable environment. we finished off the appointment by diffusing my hair - "you'll probably not do this at home, but we're in a salon, so let's go big." the cut and color was just so... fun! a good haircut can completely change your mood like it did for me today. :)

i've never really felt any loyalty to a specific hairstylist, but i'm certain that i'll be going back to jason for my next appointment. :) yaay yelp and what's more, yaay jason!

ps. they carry "curl conscious" products by bumble and bumble - the absolute best thing i've ever found for curly hair. faux rocks.

Absolutely hate the environment here. Everyone looks over-the-top, like it's a bar instead of a salon. I can appreciate people being unique but professionalism is important to me.

ISAAC cut my hair for a year or two, but my hair is super thick and was curly at the time he cut it (I've since had Japanese straightening done.)

I could never fault his cuts--he did a good job. However, he never seemed to know what to do with my hair after he cut . I paid $60+ and always walked up with a nasty wad of wet curls. I felt like for the amount of money, he should have been able to do something with my hair besides CUT IT. Expecially since the cut is supposed to include a blow-out and/or style.

Try Legar Salon in Palo Alto instead. Yeah, it's farther, but wow. So worth it!

Been going to this place off and on for about 2 years...or 3. Don't remember.

First things first, this place is awesome.

Around south bay, normally you go around barbershops, salons, and boutiques and junk and generally its pretty dry mirror and tiles kinda shop. Not any ol shop, generally ASIAN shops. Yes, deep down I hate my own kind, may Jeebus save me. Anyways, typical blah places with 70's sun faded pictures of frizzy half-a-hair-spray-can look.

Quite frankly I was tired of that and the you-ask-for-short-but-they-cut-shorter dealio.

Go to Faux and its like, wow all your problems and debts go away! Not really. But you can have that illusion.

Outside, the only characteristics are tinted windows...and a crown? Odd and plain, but totally contrasted inside. What with paint splattered ground, naked abstract pictures on the walls, blobby mirrors, and music thats either in the 70's, 80's, never heard of, in another language, or on crack. Thankfully the thumping techno isn't there. Every stylist you see has a personallity with hair cuts of all shapes and colors.

My first Stylist was Natalie. Showed her a picture of an anime character (nerd am I) and she cut it to my desired look. Pretty damn cool. Honestly, I don't know why, but after a while, I swapped over to her brother Nemesis. Yes, Nemesis....moo-wahahahah. If you open to him, he'll open up to you. Can be a real person compared to those Asian ladies that zip through your hair in 5 mins.

Now I know why girls divulge their secrets to their stylist....Not me of course. *shifty eyes*

This deserves a 5, but I knocked it down to 4 because its damn pricey. You pay for the environment, humanly stylist, and good hair.

I really liked this place, but its kind of expensive and they don't take credit cards!  Cash or Checks only!!!    Who doesn't accept credit cards?

The last person to do my hair there was Iris and she did a fantastic job.  She hooked me up with a girl mullet - just the way I wanted it.  My sister goes to Cari and drives all the way from Sacramento just to get her hair done by her.

I go to Elite Image in Willow Glen now.  It's just as trendy, less expensive, takes Credit Cards, and has a more intimate feel.  That doesn't mean this salon isn't great - it is.  I just never have cash or checks with me.

I have been to Gina three times and I am now completely convinced she has the best talent I have ever seen in all my 20 years of coloring my hair. From the moment she uttered the words "I will make sure it's a color that suites you and you will be quite happy with it", I knew she was telling the truth and she was totally right. I went to work and all my co-workers were raving about how rich the color of my hair was and complimenting on how healthy it looked. I have always gone light but she hooked me up with the most beautiful medium to dark colors a hair could hold. Although my hair is pretty thin, she gave me a cut that allows me to play up volume as well as wearing straight and sleek. She knows what she is doing and the proof is in the results. I love Gina and I suggest you see her if you want to look your hottest!

So after just getting a trim, i decided that i wanted to go "all the way" and get 10+ inches of my hair lobbed of, in hopes of obtaining a cute bob via katie holmes victoria beckham fame.  I decided to go to faux salon because i wanted to go somewhere that i knew would do a good job (i am, afterall, chopping off and throwing away the last 4 years of hair).  So, with the recommendation of my sister (who also has short hair) i called and got an appointment with Adriana.

Now it looks like Gina gets a lot of love here on yelp, but I have to let everyone know that Adriana is GREAT!  She is so nice and made me feel welcome in the trendy salon despite my sweats and hoody.  She is really attentive to what it is that you want and will spend lots of time making sure that she gets it just right.  The second before she snipped away the first chunk of my hair I had a mini-freak out and asked her pause and tell me again where she planned on snipping it off.  She was very understanding and waited until I was ready again before she went for it.  (come on, ladies, we all know how we are about our hair!)

Yes, so this hair cut was a bit on the pricey side as well.  I paid $60 + tip, but I came out with a haircut that is just perfect.  It is exactly how I wanted it and what I had envisioned in my head.  Since cutting my hair I've been getting a lot of compliments on how sophisticated it is... and I always tell them its thanks to Adriana at Faux.

Siobhan's been cutting my hair for more than 8 years now and she only gets better with time. It doesn't matter what you want to do, or even if you don't have any ideas, you will leave with a great look that only gets better as your hair grows out. I've always been 100% satisfied with my cuts and color, so I highly recommend her! She's also pleasant to talk to and always makes sure that you're comfortable and enjoying the entire experience. You're not just getting a haircut, you're getting a chance to relax and unwind from your hectic life for a little bit. I always get compliments about my hair and people are always asking me where I get it done, so it's totally worth it!

I've been going to Faux for about 10 years now. I'm the kind of gal that loves to change her look, and I'm always looking for something sassy. Faux is an upscale salon with an ultra-hipster staff. Sometimes I just enjoy looking at the hairstyles and outfits of the other stylists! Gina is my stylist, and I have never been unhappy with a cut or color. I've not had a "real" cut in almost two years 'cause I'm growing the mop out (I know, I need to update my pic!), but my hair still looks great.

Plus, they massage your neck when you get a shampoo. You can't beat that with a stick! And they'll give you coffee or soda if you want something to drink.

The haha part:  I can never find the bathroom! The door is painted as part of mural all over the wall, and it gets me every time! Maybe I'm a dork. The downside? Parking in Campbell. Seriously. There are a few lots, but they are always full and I have to drive around the block a few times to find a spot. Jeez! It's not like it's San Francisco or anything!

Update: So 7 weeks after my first appointment w/Liz it was time to go back to have her trim my hair back to the way she cut it the first time. The price was $60 for a trim/cut which I am totally fine with paying since she is the only one who can work with my hair. I also wanted her to touch-up my highlight roots, but decided not to when she told me it would be $120! That is the amount she charged me the first time...I thought since it's only the roots it would be cheaper, but it's not. I will continue to come to Liz for cuts and major coloring done, but I think I will need find another stylist to do my root touch-ups...I can't justify $180 + tip every 7 weeks for my hair. Either way, this place still gets 5 stars from me.

-------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------
I came here for the first time on Saturday for an appointment with Liz. The salon is huge, it's probably the biggest I've seen. Based on my experiences at other higher end salons I was expecting to feel uncomfortable, but it was the complete opposite. Everyone seemed really friendly.

Liz was great, she listened to what I wanted and helped me make decisions on the cut and the color, both of which I am very happy with. We talked the entire time and it was easy to hold a conversation with her. I've been to other stylists that hardly say a word to you, so this was a welcome change. Liz is VERY talented in her skill. I highly recommend her.

The prices were on the higher end, but I'm a firm believer in "you get what  you pay for."

Parking was a little difficult as it's only street parking, but I didn't have much trouble for my appointment Saturday at noon. The way around this may be to go earlier in the day.

I'll be back again and I don't think I have to look for a hair dresser anymore!

I am a stylists' worst nightmare when it comes to my hair.  I am super picky and super indecisive which is exactly why I've been going to Faux for nearly 15 years.

I typically walk in wanting a change but not, knowing what that change is and every time I walk out thoroughly thrilled with my hair.  I've been lucky and have had quite a few stylists here, a couple of my all time favs:  Mary Lou (awesome colorist and stylist), Chevon, Gina, and Vanessa.  These girls have all had great training and are totally versatile.  However, I always go back to Mikel.

Mikel puts up with my ridiculously general ideas ("I think I kinda want it short and dark", like that gives him any idea what I really want!) and helps me figure out what I'm really looking for.  Most of the time though I just go in and say do what you do and he always nails it.

People complain about the prices but keep in mind, if you're looking for experience and expertise, you have to pay for it.  I'm a customer for life!

I used to go here to see Vanessa but then there was no one that was like here that could work it out for me...

But that doesn't mean the salon isn't any good. They are all immensely talented and I say that the way it is set up (with so many stylists) you are bound to find someone to give you something good.

Their service rocks, they actually give you a smock - they have a changing room - the whole thing is an experience. I've been thinking about exploring the salon again, but I don't know I can tear myself away from going to Anvil in SF.

They are open on Sundays (super convenient), but only take cash (boo!)...

And they also carry some Bumble & Bumble... which is awesome!

I've been going to Gina at Faux for over 8 years now.  Even after moving to NYC I still hold out til I make a trip back to the Bay Area to visit my family to have Gina Hidalgo color my hair.  Gina is absofuckinglutely HILARIOUS and genius at coloring!  I get raves all the time but too bad I live in NYC and so I can't refer new clients to her!

Gina keeps me in check and tells me straight up if a color I want doesn't work for me!  She is not one to mince words but in the end, just sit back, relax, and let Gina do what she does best....I guarantee she won't disappoint you!

I have massively thick curly hair that can grab people if they walk too closely to me.  So I'm sure you can imagine my discomfort as soon as it came time to getting my bush hacked down again.

I am fairly new to the SJ area, and have already tried out other salons with no luck. One lady cut my hair reminiscent of my horrid childhood haircut, the Afro-Mullet (seriously. My mom thought it was the cutest cut ever. I, however, was not able to lose my virginity until I was well into college- thanks, Mom).  The other stylist immediately straightened my hair after having no luck in styling it, and I wound up looking like Garth from Wayne's World. I have always dreamed of having a short bob cut, but all stylists said that was a terrible idea.

After reading the reviews for Faux on another review site (sorry, Yelp), I made an appointment.  With a picture of a haircut that resembled curly hair in tow, I set off for downtown Campbell.  Unfortunately, parking in downtown Campbell is a little rough, so leave a bit early to find a parking space.  The salon itself is colorful and totally retro, and you can tell that each stylist has their own personality and a great sense of creativity.

I had an appointment with Mary Lou. As soon as I signed in, she came out, and immediately started fingering my hair & tossing it around.  After showing her my fake-curly hairstyle pic, she knew exactly what she was going to do. It was great to be in the hands of someone totally confident for once! She sat me down in the chair, and began to tell me all about my hair (which was right on target).  She knew my hair better than I know how to spell my name.  She whipped out a razor and began hacking away. The end result was phenomenal.  She cut my hair short, contradictory to any other stylists' advice, and had given me manageable, stylish hair for the first time ever. Oh, and she was fast too!

The only downside is the hair cut is a little expensive ($45 is the cheapest... mine cost $55), so I'm not sure if I can afford regular visits.  Also, make sure to bring either your checkbook or cash- they don't accept debit or credit cards. Overall though, it's a great place to get a fresh, new cut. You'll probably even get laid afterwards! Yay!

LOVE Amy. I've gotten my hair cut and styled by her 3 times now and I can honestly say I've never been happier with the results of my hair. She does exactly what I want and never pushes something I'm not ready for, just gives her opinion when asked.  I just chopped off the majority of my hair this morning and I would have never done that if I didn't trust her. I walked in with an idea, and she made it happen. Real nice, great to talk to, and isn't intimdated by my super curly spirals.

The atmosphere is very diverse (little old ladies sitting next to punk rock boys) so don't be shy when you see the haircuts of the stylists working there. I've seen very basic cuts, and really awesome technicolor creations.

I didn't give 5 stars because they don't take credit, and everyone always seems to be in a big rush. I've never felt rushed in Amy's chair, she's always taken the time to make sure I'm happy. But everyone else seems to be in such a hurry. Smile people! Other then that, I always get a polite and friendly response when I call in, and the rest of the staff seems like they know what they're doing.

I was in search for a new stylist and I was recommend Natalie at Faux salon. I decided to make an appt and I'm glad I did. I came in 1/2 hr early. It was super busy and no one really acknowledge my present. About 15 mins pass my schedule appt, Natalie's assistant approached me. He apologized in behalf of Natalie that she is still with another client and will be with me shortly. Another 15 mins passed and finally Natalie came by to take me.

I told her what I wanted and she executed it. She highlighted my hair in two different shades and a trim. I love the way she took the time and listen to what I wanted.

I would recommend Natalie at Faux.

Minus one star for the wait & the place only take cash and check.

Love me some FAUX. I have been going there for over 7 years. I began going there because and old girlfriend of mine was dating one of the hairdressers there and he would always tell me to come in. So  one day I finally made and appt.

At that time he had an assistant named Siobhan (pronounced Shivon) who was helping him out and was about to be done with her internship there. See in order to get your own station at FAUX you have to go throught their 3 year internship program on top of Cosmetology school. That way, by the time they get a station, they are really good at cut and color. And that makes me feel better cause I know some newbie aint gonna mess up my hair. Well aftr a year and a half my hairdresses was planning on leaving  and Siobhan was done assisting him, so she got her own station.

5+ years later and 10 or more of my good girlfriends and guyfriends and coworkers that now go to her, she still rocks! Very cutting edge cuts and I love what she does with color. I love the results of every "experiment" I make her go through on my hair. hahaha. I'm a hair die whore and i know it. I say i'm gonna stay dark and then three motnhs later i decide to put more highlights in. hahahah. I'm amazed she hasn't killed me yet.

I highly recommend going to Faux and asking for Siobhan. You won't be dissapointed.

I usually don't trust people with my hair--I've been cutting it myself since I was 13.

I came in here for a bleach/dye a couple years ago as part of a bet that I lost (lime green stripe right down the center--don't ask). I enjoyed the conversation I had with my stylist--she talked to me about astrology, something I am deeply fascinated with but know nothing about--and she also took the time to consult me on my hair coloring. Pretty good so far...

I was given a great wash before bleaching, and boy did that shampoo smell good. I had a nice time in the salon, everyone seemed nice. Chairs were comfortable, there were ample magazines to read.

After everything was finished, I was asked if I wanted a blow-dry. I said no. I am extremely anti blow-dry. Blow-drying curly hair is like the deadliest of all sins! My hair can't take it; it frizzes up and I always look like Tina Turner meets a strong electric current. Doesn't matter if you have an ionic diffuser or whatever attachment, it always comes out like a bird's nest. I explained this to my hair stylist and she insisted that her blow-drier would not do this to me. Whatever girl, just do if if you want to so bad. She tried telling me it looked good. I can tell you this, I looked like I had just come out of Fraggle Rock! Not cute at all. I was dreading the walk back to my car. I almost asked for a paper bag...

Then all of a sudden came the bill. $220 (not including tip)? Not only did I have poofy ugly hair, but I was charged for the shampoo, the bleach, the dye, a haircut, and styling? First off, I didn't ask for the shampoo, nor did I ask for a haircut--she did no more than 3 snips with a razor (not even joking). Totally not a haircut, and what's more, definitely not worth $50. And what was the "hair styling" that I was being charged for? That was the blow-dry that I did not want. I could have stuck my head under a hand drier in the nearest bathroom and avoided another chunk of cash. During my consultation, I was quoted $90 altogether, so I was under the impression that the wash, the 3 snips and the blow-dry were complimentary. I guess I could have refused to pay $220, but I was 17 at the time and I don't like making a fuss, especially when there's crazy women with sharp objects trying to take advantage of me. Maybe they're used to teens coming in to blow their parents' money? Not me, I had to starve my way through high school and save my lunch money for like 5 months to pay for that shit. I think I'll stick with my $8 scissors and continue to do my own hair.

I have been seeing Nemesis for three years and he is the man.  A couple of times I have gone elsewhere but it's worth paying the price for the best. They also carry a variety of products including a bunch of bumble & bumble.

Main drawback: they only take cash, which is inconvenient. If they took credit/debit, this would be a 5 star review.

I love this place.  I'm very picky about salons.  This is the one place where I will see ANY stylist because they are all great.  I've never had a miss.  They're prompt, excellent service, talented stylists, and they don't try to pimp product.  Most important, when you say you only want 1/4" off, they don't' try to get cute and cut off more or give you a silly lecture about how your hair will grow faster the more you cut it as if it's alive.

Only downside --remember to bring your cash.  They do not take any credit cards.

Des is my hairstylist and she nails it every time. Also? Des is the hair stylist for half the staff at my job. People notice other peoples hair, get Des' number and end up hooked. She's been doing this for a long time and the quality and experience show. I wouldn't go anywhere else. When Des goes on maternity leave I'm going to let my hair grow out until she comes back. :)

So right now Faux poped in my hair I am head.....yess I will right a review!!! So I won't do a Yelp on Faux itself but the girl who does my hair and my little ten year olds hair toooo ( yess even my little girls go there).   Faux does have excellent service and such friendly people they make me and my little girls feel welcome and cozy. I have been going there for year's hair has been every color in the scheme besides orange and yellow.....but yes it has been every other even pink......and every vision I had for my hair it was executed hasn't been my hairdresser the whole time but every person there is fantastic........ (but now I stick with Carrie she is just sooo nice). So after we had decided to grow my natural hair color so I had to go thru the growing out  my roots and the dead faded hair yucko but she worked it out for me layered my hair and made it look cute.......but now 2 years later my hair color is back my hair is healthy and low maintenance THANK YOU CARRIE...........She also did a freakin gorgeous job on my little ones Paperboy ( A-Line)  cut excellent she received soo many compliments cut and the shave was evenly done my little girl decided to grow it out and it still looks fresh like the very first day she cut it.........

Yes I am giving made props.....WOoooHoooo
My experience is that the price depends on the stylist but when it comes to my hair ummm no not just anybody be touching my shit...........

Worst hair experience ever!!!!

The salon is overpriced and not worth a dime.  The stylist they assigned me to "Nemesis" cut less than 1/2 an inch from my hair and didn't thin it out (after I told him my hair grows quick and thick).  He spent almost an hour cutting nothing.  I needed another cut less than 2 weeks later (normally 4-5 weeks!?).  I was not about to pay another $50 for this waste of time.

I went to Faux last night based on reviews I read here on Yelp. I had a great experience!! First of all, it's so awesome that on some nights they're open until 8pm!! I made my appt. for 7pm and they called me because an earlier spot opened up which was great, so I was in there around 6:15pm. Overall, the salon is very nice and clean and the staff was nice as well. For my appt. I met with Elizabeth (Liz) who has pretty great reviews on here, except for one - which we talked about and she explained to me. Remember people, there's always two sides to every story. I must say I agreed with her positive reviews. Elizabeth was so friendly. We talked the entire time of the cut. She seemed really interested in my life - and honestly, when you're sitting there for a while, you want someone you can gab with. And I totally found that.

As for the cut, she did a great job. It's the morning after and I'm still learning to adjust to having shorter hair again, but I have no complaints against Liz. She cut my hair exactly how I wanted and even went back to make adjustments when I wanted things a bit shorter. She was VERY accomodating. And the cost was very reasonable - $60 for about 45 minutes. Yes, they only accept checks and cash, but that works nicely for me since I never use checks anymore - so now I can use them again!

One little thing to note: I'm semi-new to the area and I'd never been to downtown Cambell where the salon is located so I struggled slightly with parking. There are lots on the side streets, which took me a few minutes to figure out. Anyway, make sure you plan ahead and give yourself a few extra minutes to figure out parking.

I get a lot of crap from people when i tell them it costs $40 plus tip for a man's haircut, but for me, it comes down to one thing. Trust.

I've been going to Coco for the past 7 years or so and I don't mind paying a little more because I know that she's going to take care of me and that I'm going to look good when I leave. In fact, when I lived in Lafayette, I'd make special trips down to Campbell to get my hair cut. Now I live in Fremont and work in Livermore and have been known to drive down to Campbell after work just to get a haircut. That's how much it means to me, and it's worth paying for, in my opinion.

Faux is a cool place, trendy and industrial, with an eclectic, "alternative" staff. Lots of interesting artwork, but I kinda miss the cunt art that was on the walls when I first started going there.

I waited three haircuts to write my review.  I get hair cuts about once every 2-4 months depending on the previous haircut.

I see Adriana and she's been great and super sweet everytime.  She somehow manages to make me not look as hideous as I normally do.

Snob factor?  I don't feel it at all with Adriana.  Maybe with some of the other employees at this place.  But hey, it's nothing more than water off my back, really.
